This is the third book in the series and they just keep getting better and better! I couldn’t put this one down and I devoured it in no time at all. This series is paranormal and it has the best of both worlds… werewolves and witches!! The story line of this book was fantastic and I love the authors attention to detail and her ability to make me the reader feel like I am part of the story! Who (Stalker #1) is the first book I’ve read by Megan Mitcham. I absolutely LOVED this story! It had the suspense, drama, crazy and a lot of hotness! Larkin is a self-made woman who keeps a very guarded heart. She has her girl friends, who are strong women themselves, her driver, her business and the man on the roof. She seems to have it all, but someone is out to get her. Once I started reading this I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. I cannot wait to read the next book!

The Confectioner’s Exile is a prequel novella in The Confectioner Chronicles, by Claire Luana. I have not read any of the other books in this series, but I have read other series by Luana. Once again, she did not disappoint. The story follows Hale, a spoiled rich boy, who has life handed to him and has never worked a day in his life. He spends his time gambling and chasing girls. That is until one night when he goes from the top of the chain, to the bottom. An instant fugitive on the run with his life on the line. The characters are wonderfully crafted, with backgrounds and relationships that are fun to read about. There are different emotions felt, creating a good balance. There are moments of carefree fun, but also some serious chapters, filled with regret, loss and motivation. I highly enjoyed it and can’t wait to see what she has in store for Hale and his future in the Confectioner’s Guild.

The Confectioner’s Exile by Claire Luana is a prequel novella to The Confectioner Chronicles. This is the backstory of Hale Firena and his life. He has always had everything he could possibly want but his life changes drastically. He must learn how to survive without relying on others. I really enjoyed this prequel and read it before I read book 1. The writing is great and the action was also good. After reading this novella I was even more excited to read the series. This is a YA series but teens and adults can enjoy this series.
Hard as Steel: Book four (“Surviving Series”) By Virginia Wine. This story is beyond amazing. From the first few pages I was completely hooked and couldn’t put it down! The author writes with such incredible emotion and attention to details. And the characters are out of this world good, you connect with each one so wholeheartedly that you forget you’re reading a book. Steel and Nicole have this compatibility that draws you into their story and refuses to let you go. This story has a bit of everything from romance to suspense/mystery. The twists and turns kept me guessing. It’s well written and paced nicely, never felt rushed or lacking anything. I’m excited to read more by this author. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

The Confectioners Guild by Claire Luana is book 1 in the Confectioners Series. I recently read the prequel to this book and really enjoyed it, so I decided to dive into the series. Much Like the prequel I enjoy this authors writing style and character development. This book had me hooked from the very beginning and I couldnt put it down. I read this and the prequel in the same day. I really loved the story and the characters in this book, and cannot wait to see what the author does next with this series or anything else she writes. Great start to a great series. I give this book 5 stars easily.
Bound by Blood by Carrie Pulkinen is a must-read paranormal book! I completely devoured it in one sitting as I got so swept up in the story and I couldn’t put it down. This is the 3rd book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series, a series that I would highly recommend! This paranormal series has it all, from werewolves and witches, captivating storylines, drama and of course each book is action-packed! There isn’t anything about this series that I don’t love!
I couldn’t wait to find out all about Alexis after her first appearance. She was so intriguing and incredibly misunderstood. She’s a woman who has endured so much pain and suffering causing her to build strong walls around her heart. I loved following her story and watching her character develop and unfold and of course I’ve loved Bryce from his first appearance, he may just be my favourite character of the series!
This is a book and series I would recommend to anyone looking for their next paranormal read, this is a series you won’t want to miss!

The Confectioners Exile by Claire Luana is a prequel to the Confectioners Guild series, in general I’m not a big fan of prequels, but I was able to read this before I started the series. I really enjoyed the foundation laid for the main character. It was an easy read and the book flowed really well. This is the first book I have read by this author, but I really enjoyed the writing style, story line and characters. I will be reading book one in this series today also. I really enjoyed the writing and will continue to read books not only in this series but also anything else this author does! Great read and a solid 5 stars!!!
Hard as Steel is the fourth book in the Surviving Series by Virginia Wine; this romance suspense/mystery will keep you glued to your reading device. This was my first book by this author and I will tell you that you need to read these books in order. I might have been lost in the beginning but. Virginia’s writing will captivate you with the mystery and suspense that will keep you reading. Steel and Nicole were such great characters, how could you not feel what was going on in this book. I will be adding the first three books to my reading list and looking forward to the next book.

Once you make an agreement you should do your best to honor it. Bailey has had a tough life and is trying to find her happy place. I felt from the beginning that Carter would change her. I dislike family drama. It never seems like they actually get over the issue. Like my aunt who cooked greens for thanksgiving one year. She didn’t wash them now we tell her to not bring anything. Lol! It was sad looking at Bailey’s and Carter’s lives through this author. They both had some hard times as children and adults. You could really feel how much time and emotion the author put into this story. I felt like the characters were genuine people. The story dragged a little in the first few chapters but picked up as it went along. I really liked that you see a growth in the main characters lives. Hard as Steel: Book four (“Surviving Series”) by Virginia Wine was a intense, gripping read, that had me hooked.
My first read by this author and for this series, yes again I have not followed a series from the start, and I will say, that though this reads as a standalone, there was missing background info that made me feel like this was more of a connecting storyline, then a actual standalone. There seems to be overlapping characters that I lost out on, and there are some things I didn’t quite catch, so word to the wise, don’t be like me, start this series from the beginning.
Told in multi POV, we get many different voices and angles of this story. I do like the multi POV for these types of action/mysteries. It gives you a better sense of what’s going on, and when done right, adds to the tension and mystique. I will say that though this was very will done, the writing was a little, choppy and, I didn’t know at times whose voice I was reading. It was like a quick cut, done with no defined brake to let me know a POV had changed. A good fixed is to add the characters name at the top, or simply have a clear defined brake, like adding special characters, or a triple space between paragraphs.
Overall this book was quite the read. It had depth, and a strong multi layered plot that really drew you in. The added romance was a plus, but the mystery and the way the two MC’s come together really made this story shine. Warning, there is some feel kickers in here, so be prepared.
With that being said, I will leave you with my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Jesse by Desiree LaFawn is a must read! As I sit here writing this review I’m having a hard time finding the right words to describe how much I loved this book! It’s intense, dramatic, captivating, sweet, quirky and romantic. Jesse is the 3rd book in the Glass City Hearts series, it also happens to be the first book I’ve read in the series, so I can honestly say that it can be read as a standalone. I was able to jump right in and follow along with no confusion. Having said that I will immediately be diving into the first two books of the series because I loved this one so much.
I immediately connected with Harlow and Jesse’s sense of humour and inner ramblings had me swooning from chapter one. The only downside to this book was the length, I could have continued reading about these two for hours.
I can’t wait to read the rest of this series and I would definitely recommend this book to others!

Climbing The Walls Book 1 Hart & Cole Series by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné Five Stars
My jaw was on the floor while reading this story. It was like watching a reality tv show. Kris and Nicole have been together for what seems like forever. They have two beautiful kids. It seems that they have hit a block in their relationship and are trying to find a way to fix it. Marriage is a struggle and the only way to make it is to do it together. If no one is giving or trying to change than what’s the point? Nicole works a lot and it is taking it’s toll on he marriage and her kids. Most people don’t think kids notice or are affected by absent parents. But it definitely does and it shows in unexpected was. I really like this story and am ready for book two. These couples have so much going on and so much to work through. My heart went out to Darren and I hope a solution comes in book two. The author did a great job with the characters. It started off slow but picked up in the middle of the story. You really feel the shift in the book once things start to happen. Reviewed by @gguerrero89

You know how they say “Don’t Judge a Book By It’s Cover”? Well I totally judged this one by the cover and I was not wrong. Between the cover and the blurb, I could not pass this story up. It’s the first I’ve read by the author and I look forward to reading more in the series.
A simple tale, yet so complex with so many feelings. Granting a Christmas wish for a beloved niece should never be a chore – yet sometimes it’s just that.
The characters in this sweet romance are complex and layered. They are well developed and helped to pull emotion from me that I wasn’t necessarily feeling that day. The aunt and niece complement each other well – they are the ying to the other’s yang and it was wonderful to watch the relationship grow.
This is absolutely one of those romance stories that I would recommend to YA and my mom’s book club. It’s full of lovely visuals and brought back memories of my own travels to Disney both as a kid and as an Auntie.

OMG, omg, omg! Getting the Goods by Elizabeth Perry had me roaring with laughter and tears rolling down my face. The premise of the story is not one I have read before and absolutely loved it. Elizabeth has written a beautiful love story that is so vivid and rich you imagine everything she has shared with us. How she came up with this wonderful crazy story and made it work is just brilliant. The whole book from start to finish is just amazing. The story is told in dual POV’s which I love and especially with these characters that I fell in love with.
Gabby and her best friend have hatched a plan that no one in their right mind would ever dream of doing. One that leads to more than they ever thought possible.
Connor has always loved ‘em and left them but he finds himself offering a deal of the likes he has never made before and one that he will never make again.
Seriously this is one read that no one and I mean no one should miss. I absolutely want to read more of this wonderful author.

Once Upon a Romance (A Dream Come True Book 1) by Alex Bailey is a story that is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time and I absolutely enjoyed reading it. Making one little girls dream come true is the one thing Sophie is dreading. Pulling up her big girl panties is going to be harder than anything she has to do. That is until she comes face to face with a stranger that turns her world upside down.The story caught me from the very start of the book. I fell in love with the characters due to Alex’s attention to detail and writing skills and could picture it clearly in my mind. This heartwarming story will linger even after you have finished it. There was a lot of love weaved into this story and there are so many emotions that you will find yourself laughing and in tears the next, so grab a good drink and a box of tissues. I highly recommend that you partake in this wonderfully written story. It is a great start to the series and I can’t wait to see what is next.

CONFESSION: Western and/or Cowboy Romance are generally not my jam. I’m more of a contemporary romance reader because being from the Northeast I have preconceived notions about Westerns and Cowboys. Boy did this anthology prove me wrong.
These are all new to me authors and each weaves a tale that left me wanting more. From Musicians to Marines, Divas to Dogs, this anthology has a bit of it all. Some seem to be part of a much larger picture and others are a full novel in a short story.
Instead of highlighting passages, I found myself highlighting authors who I want to add to my ‘check this author out’ list. I look forward to reading more from these authors in the future.

Colleen S. Myers has done it again with Book three in The Solum Series: Distant Memory. I continue to love the characters and I really want to see Finn and Beta together. I get it her and Marin are mates and married but Finn was there first. This is the story we’ve been waiting for where Beta and Xade have their moment, more than one actually. There are also new characters introduced that are surprising and add a new twist to the story. I am hoping there is a book four in the series but with the ending it could go either way. I wasn’t sure I would like the series when I first started it but I have grown to love it and I was excited when I saw book three was out finally.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author and I really wish I had read the others in the series first. I was a little frustrated at first trying to figure out who was who and how they connected. It was like opening a book to the middle with no introduction. Once I figured stuff out, I was ready.
Nichole and Steel have a past, their characters have developed over time and they seem to have a trust and inner language that each other understands. They surround themselves with people they can trust because each knows what happens when you trust someone you shouldn’t. They are both Alphas with their strength and fortitude.
This is a fantastic suspense/romance that is so twisty and twisted I was gobsmacked a few times about how wrong I was with what I thought was going on.
A few tips with this story:
DON’T SKIM – there are a lot of twists and turns and there are words that are very important to the story. DON’T ASSUME – I caught myself relaxing a few times thinking I knew what was going to happen. DON’T MISS BOOKS 1-3 – Honestly, I went into this book blind and when I realized I had missed so much background, I went and read reviews on the previous books in the series. Those reviews that recap the entire book so I could be comfortable with this one.

Bound by Blood is the third book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series. This book can be read as a standalone, but the previous books are spectacular reads so I recommend reading them as well. Once again, the author has created an engaging story. There is not a bad book in this series and Bound by Blood has added a great dimension to the Crescent City world. One of the things that really grabs you in these books is the expertly written villains and the way the heroes/heroines handle them.
I loved that this book has a female lead character, and a strong one at that. As the story progresses she maintains that strength, but also learns how to accept support from others. I like that the author kept Alexis a strong female figure and didn’t turn her into a passive princess.

But her sweet moment quickly turns sour, when the Guild Master dies from her poisoned cupcake. Framed for the murder, Wren has to unravel the mystery before her, and learn how to control her gift; before she’s trialled and beheaded. I really Love Claire Luana’s writing. She weaves fantastical stories, that have you hooked from the very first line. I loved the book and think it is an excellent start to her new series. The characters were delightful, and well developed. Her descriptions of the desserts had my mouth watering and my sweet tooth aching. As well as, the stunning cover art; the more I look at it, the more things I find in it. 5/5 Stars!
Hard as Steel is the fourth book in Virginia Wine’s Surviving series. This is my first encounter with the writer and I have to confess that I fell for her, hook, line, and sinker from page 1! The way she pulls you in … the way she paints the picture in your head … I had chills going down my arms! I know I should have read the first books before picking up this one but heck, I can do it now (they are all on KU so I will be utilizing it to its fullest this month!)! This is the story of Steel Archer, an ex-military who is working with PI Securities, and Nicole Lancaster who is an experienced FBI Agent committed to her career and climbing the ladder with another promotion in sight … And then they pick up a case – a broken young woman, who walked out of the shadows … she pulls them both in and the journey through ever present danger commences! This story … it is so multi layered … and luckily there were plenty of flashbacks that helped the story along … these flashbacks … the way the writer paints the picture … you can just close your eyes and you are there … feeling … I loved how the writer used different point of views to tell the story, it made it so real and intimate … pick up a copy and I promise, you will want to go back like me and read the first three as well! AND I cannot wait for the continuation of the story of that young broken girl I met on page one!

My Tragic Life is the second book in the Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone. I would highly recommend reading the first book as you will enjoy this book even more. Necie is an amazing author that keeps the story moving and sometimes throws a curve ball in the action. It is an addicting read so make sure you have time to read it in one sitting. The story is about the Alessandra and her role as the princess of the Italian Mob family. There was an incident when she was 6 and that is when her life changed. Her father became more neurotic and started to get Alessandra trained. She had started to train at the age of 8 by her uncle. She keeps training for the simple reason of becoming a bad ass. In public she is a Princess, but om reality she is a fierce bad ass getting ready to become the Queen of the Italian Family. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for Alessandra.

A great read about remembering. Elizabeth was abducted by aliens called the E’mani and taken to a far away planet but she fled from them to another race called the Forst. A few months later she finds her happy ever after in marriage and a baby. But the E’mani are not far behind and the threat of war looms. Will the Forst be able to stop the E’mani and war before it’s too late? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Marin protecting everyone but kind underneath or Elizabeth standing up for herself but loving underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the kind old mentor Ute or the fun friend Hana. A spinechilling villain. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the sci fi nature of the place with glistening lakes and icy world of two suns with blue and green shadows for a futuristic yet beautiful sense of nature. And the sense of detail in the world with the layout and clan tents and greenhouses clearly thought out and described as if you were exploring it too. I also loved the use of foreboding over the whole wedding scenes which was beautifully done. The use of flashbacks memories was done well and didn’t distract from the narrative of the present and added to the mystery. The only issue I would raise is that there was some repetition in places which if resolved would be five stars. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

This is the third book in this series, I highly suggest reading the previous books before this to help your enrichment of this series. In this book Ellizabeth is determined to get Finn back from E’manis. I enjoyed how we get to see her learning more about who she is. She is a strong character, we get to see how strong she is as she sets out on revenge. This book is action from start to finish and left me sitting on the edge just waiting to see what happens next. I highly recommend this book.

Player by Pamela DuMond is the first book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. This book is full of mystery and intrigue and it will keep you reading through to the end. Evie has a rather unusual second job. Hired as an escort to the wealthiest around due to her empathetic abilities she is able to earn enough money to support her family. However there is risk involved with the work she does. She knows she needs to cut ties and move on. With only a few clients left that is exactly what she will do. But will she be able to get out before it is too late? And will she be able to help heal her latest client? This book was great. It had a unique and intriguing storyline to it. The characters fit so well with the story the author was telling. They were compelling to read about. I was never quite sure where the story might take us. I’m glad I picked this book up!
This is the third book in this series, it can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading the previous books as they are just as enjoyable. This is a friends to lovers story that I had a hard time putting down. I enjoyed Bailey and Carter’s chemistry together both as friends and the hot, steamy part of their relationship. They are both looking for something and I found myself hoping they would find each other. I highly recommend reading their story, will they find their HEA?
