The Killmores by Martha Sweeney is the second part of this story. In order to fully understand the story they should be read in order. As with the first book this one is fast paced and intense. I found myself constantly on the edge of my seat. I knew it was only a matter of time before everything caught up with Laurie, and although I was clearly rooting for a happy outcome, I also couldn’t wait to see what would happen when it did. This book is full of twists and turns. The author knows how to grab your attention and she definitely knows how to not let go once she has it. This was a brilliant follow up to book one. I can highly recommend this series.
Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3) By Desiree Lafawn 5 Stars
Jesse is the third book in the Glass City Hearts series by Desiree Lafawn. I am not sure how Ms. Lafawn manages to outdo the last book but she definitely did it with Jesse. I will admit that he is AWESOME and the hotness and sultry vibe still roles on in book 3.
Jesse had different plans for his life but with family and loyalty being what he was taught growing up he finds that it’s not something he can ignore. So life finds him tending bar and giving up on his dreams.
Harlow Jones is not your usual girl. With a knack for fixing anything mechanical and a whiz at the computer, she knows she’s different. To better her life and that of her son Harlow just needs to land this job at Glass City. What she wasn’t expecting were the complications that come with meeting Jesse.
Ms. Lafawn has captured my interest with the unique flow of her writing. From the bevy of old characters that we get to re-visit to finally being able to have the ending to Jesse’s story the reader is taken for an emotional ride that will have you laughing (and maybe wanting to relocate to a new living area) and crying as these two characters learn about themselves and each other. This book is extremely well written and will keep you entertained from the first page to the last. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series!

Degrees of Acceptance is the second book in the Prestian Series. With that in mind, I would highly recommend reading Degrees of Innocence the Book 1. I enjoy Via Mari’s writing style. She is very detail oriented. I can imagine I am right next to the characters in the book. The journey with Katarina and Chase is an interesting journey. I must admit that I am not into erotica and at times I had to skip over a couple of paragraphs, but I still enjoyed the story. I cannot wait to read the next installment of this series.

Forgetting Ophelia is a beautifully written story that I thoroughly enjoyed. I haven’t read anything by this author previously but I really enjoyed her engaging and relaxed writing style. I really liked Lia; I connected with her straight away and felt for her as she tried to adjust to the unexpected changed in her life. I admired her strength as she began to rebuild her life. I think I kind of wanted to hate Jake for his cowardly ways and the way he treated Lia but as the story progressed I understood him a little better even if I didn’t agree with the things that he did. The author did a great job with the emotional side of this story and I could feel what the characters were feeling. She made them realistic and likeable. Overall I thought that this was a wonderful story, one that I would highly recommend! I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.
Born to Fight is the first instalment of the dystopian-romance series, Can’t Resist You. It follows Hunter and Rain, who are thrown together after a deadly attack on Hunter’s life. There is instant chemistry between these two and that is what makes this book so addictive. If you’re a fan of dystopian reads, this is definitely one for you.
We meet Hunter in the midst of him saving a woman from an attack by UNR soldiers. So basically, Hunter is a hero. Cue swoon. Then we learn he’s part of the resistance. Cue bigger swoon. A strong, rebel? Sign me up for one! Hunter is an instantly memorable character who I was immediately drawn to and hooked on. I had so many questions about how he got to where he was, I couldn’t read fast enough to get to the flashbacks about his past with this father and the rest of the resistance. While he is technically the ‘enemy’, he most definitely the hero of this read. I love reads like this, but mostly when we see things from the side of those rebelling against the state. This makes for a much more interesting read and, let’s be honest, all of us have a little rebel in us. And that is why I loved Rain so much. Not only is she a strong, independent woman (yes!), she also knows what she wants. When it is thrown right in front her in the form on Hunter, she panics, like all of us would! I loved seeing their relationship develop of the course of the story, both physically and emotionally.
This book is full of suspense. While there is the fear of the UNR at every corner, the biggest stressor for me was waiting for Rain to find out the truth about Hunter. I actually found myself reading super fast to reach that moment, as I just couldn’t handle the stress! No spoilers here, but prepare yourself for some serious action!
I really enjoyed Born to Fight and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. It falls perfectly into the dystopian-romance genre, one which so many people love. Add this to your to-read list and it will not disappoint!

Say When is the ninth book in Bree Kraemer’s fantastic Cedarville series! I have read the whole series as I fell in love with it from book one! I love the small town set up and how a group of friends keeps growing and embraces newcomers and every time I finish a story I wish I could move there! Say When is the story of Danielle “Dani” and “Pat” Patrick. We met Dani in Wes and Julia’s book, she is that shy baker who created those amazing desserts. We also met Patrick who was hired by Wes as a chef to work in his Dockside restaurant. Dani and Patrick go back long way – Patrick’s sister was one of Dani’s best friends and she had such a crush on Patrick when she was thirteen …. Patrick has some work he needs to do to get Dani out of her shell! “No more barely living. No more fear.” These two take us on a sweet ride! I like how Bree gives us those sweet stories where we are not overwhelmed by angst and actually drowns us in romance! And do not forget about the good laugh we get as well! I hope that the writer is not yet done with this charming small town with all those great people and we will get some more Cedarville stories!

The third installment in the Fatal Dreams series, Never Let Me Fall, by Abbie Roads continues with its romantic suspense theme. Abbie Roads is highly talented in how she writes these stories. In Never Let Me Fall, the story immediately opens into a scene that makes you hold your breath! Oh my goodness, this book seriously had me on the edge of my seat quickly reading to see what was to happen next! Talk about a page turner!! I felt that the characters were each perfectly flawed. Helena’s past is not an easy one, yet the author handled it with flare without it feeling too weak or overly done. Thomas is enticing, the reader is drawn to him, to his personality and how he interacts. Combining these two characters together was climatic and how they juggle and combat against forces was well played. This story holds its own within the series, but I liked the touch of how there are small, minuscule pieces that overflow from the other books in the series.

I have found a new must read author with this book and I cannot Wait to dive into the rest of this series. I was hooked from the first word to the last. Shay and Matt had a summer love so strong that years after she left, they still held onto their feelings for each other. The chemistry between these two was hot, but they also had a deep connection to one another. I really loved this story and I cant wait to read the rest of this series as the secondary characters caught my attention in this book as well. This is a must read!

Janice M. Whiteaker’s Ring Tru is the first book of the Thick as Thieves series. This romantic suspense is fascinatingly written. Tru and Will are the primary/lead characters in this tale and they distinctly stand out, as they should. I liked Tru’s whit and fire that was well established and shown through. Adding in Will’s protectiveness and drive, this made a story rife with twists/turns as these two battle out their feelings/connection and try to complete their end game(s). The tug and pull between them was intriguing to read. The hints of their best friends as supporting characters in the story added perfectly to the allure of this story as it unfolded. This was a great beginning to the series and has definitely whetted my appetite and created a desire to see what’s next!

This is the story of Matt (Hayes) and Shay. They were high school loves and after a few events they didn’t see each other for a long time. “Not everything from your past is meant to stay with you” – this is the story of their moving on from the past.
This is book one of a series and I thought it would be a bit more world building than it was. The writing is very detailed and I found myself skimming at times.
They were certain things that bugged me but not enough to down grade my rating. I did find myself highlighting quite a few passages because at times the writing is almost poetic.
Overall this was a quick and enjoyable read and o have put the other stories in the series on my TBR list.

Jesse by Desiree LaFawn is the third book in her Glass City Hearts series, and while I have loved each of this series books this is honestly my favorite to date. Jesse has got it all – romance, suspense, drama and tugging at my heart strings. Following the stories of Jesse and Harlow you get to see just how much these two are willing to sacrifice for family. For Jesse his family is everything. Growing up with a father who drilled it into you that Family is more important than everything else, he knew that at a drop of a hat he would give up his life for his blood. Jesse has always wanted to own a bakery, but he puts his dreams on hold to take care of his father’s bar. He was always fine just working away for the family business, until her. Meeting Harlow, his whole perspective on family changes. This woman calls to him in a way that he never expected, and that pull is enough to make he do anything to keep her in his life. This is the third story in the Glass City series. The story focuses on Jesse and Harlow. They were a great couple to read about. Jesse tries to help out and is incredibly sweet. Harlow is strong, determined female character. Harlow’s little boy sound so sweet, a bit rotten, and a whole lot of funny. I really enjoyed reading this story, and loved seeing other characters from this series in this story.

The Confectioner’s Guild by Claire Luana is the first book in the Confectioner Chronicles series. I have to say I loved the prequel and this book is written just as well. The writing style of this author is quite enjoyable. The series is aimed at the YA readers but can be enjoyed by us adults as well. The author has made the characters in this book quite enjoyable and its was a pleasure to have read this book and I do look forward for more instalments. In this book we have mystery, magic and cooking. Not your normal mixture in a book but it works well. So, grab yourself a copy of the book and have an enjoyable time in getting to know not only the characters but the authors wonderful way of telling a story.

Each of these authors knows the way to a girl’s heart! Each story was written and paced nicely. This collection is filled to the brim with wonderful characters and emotions you feel in your soul. I’m a fan of collections like these because it’s a great way to be introduced to new authors and I’ll definitely be checking out these authors for more books. If you’re looking for some great reads that involve oh so yummy cowboys look no further, this is the set for you. I honestly can’t pick a favorite because each one is amazing in its own right. I’m giving this collection a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

Desiree Lafawn has done it again with a great addition to the Glass City Hearts Series. Jesse is book three in the series and all about Jesse. If you read the previous two stories (which I hope you did) you remember Jesse from when Angel was kidnapped. This story hit a few spots with me it’s main focus in on Harlow who’s a struggling single mom with a crappy past. Jesse is about struggles, moving forward and new beginnings. As you read the story you know something is going to happen you just aren’t sure in what way and then it does and you feel relieved that it finally happened and you can relax. There’s a slow steady build up, then the climax, and a nice clean ending. The previous characters are in the story and play significant roles especially Dino with his big bad self.

An Agreement, Summer in New York Book 3 by Lindsay Marie Miller 4 out of 5 stars
Lindsay Marie Miller is a fantastic author. This third installment in the Summer in New York Series is a fantastic book. Ms Miller has the singular ability to create two separate individuals within the confines of the covers of a book and submerge them and the reader into a world into a world that is detailed and amazing! Bailey has found herself single at the ripe old age of twenty-five but refusing to stay single for much longer, she reaches out to her friend Carter to find out exactly what she is missing in obtaining the perfect man for her..even though she knows the perfect man for her is Carter.
Carter thinks he is a broken man. On the inside and out. Bailey is too good of a person and has too sweet of a soul to love someone like him. So he does the next best thing, he does everything in his power to make sure she finds her white knight..even if that isn’t him.
This sweet romance has some series chemistry to it and the secrets come out that they are hiding from each other…some serious sparks fly. I found myself laughing at a few mishaps and at others I was frustrated at the OBVIOUS sexual tensions, but alas, with age comes wisdom..and when you are only twenty-five, you seem to miss what is right in front of your face. Highly recommended.

An Agreement was a good 4 star read and book three in the Summer in New York series.

Carter just isn’t looking for anything right now due to his past but he agrees to help Bailey understand men better. The more he helps Bailey the more complicated things start to get. Can they really keep things at a friends level?
I really liked Bailey, she was a very sensitive woman looking for, the one. Carter pulled at my heartstrings also, the chemistry that these two had was great. My emotions were all over the place with this read. The secondary characters were good. It took a little bit for me to get pulled in at first but once I was, I couldn’t stop until I was done. I was once again pulled in by this authors writing, This can be read as a stand alone. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

Born to Fight (Can’t Resist You #1) By Brittany Anne Rated 5 stars
This is such a good story!! It is fast paced, full of action and suspense. Well…and the romance isn’t too shabby either. It drew me in right at the beginning and I could hardly put this down. I needed to see what was going to happen in this place and to these characters next.
I loved both of the main Characters! Each has some issues and but both grew nicely. I was impressed with Rain. She is a strong, smart, resourceful and impressive. I can’t imagine not seeing a human for 2 years. Hunter is the soldier. It’s all he has ever known…how to fight. He doesn’t know the meaning of the word “Can’t”. Nor has he ever been concerned with “feelings”. When he mentions them to his “brothers”??? It was an interesting conversation because they were all shocked. “Feelings?? Are we allowed to have those?” Made me kind of chuckle.
The secondary characters are an interesting lot. Hunters “brothers” all are great additions and help move the plot along. They are smart, tough and nice but all good looking. I enjoy their time together. I (Hopefully) look forward to them getting their own stories.
This is my first book by this author and I am excited to read more. Especially in this series! The title of the book and the series are perfect. I can see both of them pertaining to this story.

Say When by Bree Kraemer is the ninth book in her Cedarville series. This is such a strong series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but I dare you to try and stop yourself from falling in love with this whole series. Dani and Patrick have got to be my favourites so far. I found Dani to be so relatable. Which made it so easy to become very invested in her character and her story. I was desperate for the two of them to find a way to make things work, to learn how to communicate with each other. And to make it even better it was a book about a best friends sister. They are always one of my favourite books and this was no exception. As always with this series I found this book to be heartwarming and well written. My favourite so far and it has made me even more excited to read what else is to come.

This was such a sweet and fun little anthology! It was a perfect weekend “getaway” read. At just under five hundred pages collectively, it was easy to devour quickly for an anthology. A trait that I definitely loved for an anthology. Each author was a completely new author to me so it was quite nice to get to know some new ones to add to my TBR list for the future.
Each story is different but all have the same common concept… Hot and steamy cowboys, and there really wasn’t a single one that I didn’t fall for. It Ends Tonight is the fourth book in the Bayou Devils MC Series by A.M. Myers. I Really don’t know how she does it, but this series just seems to get better and better with each new installment- it really shouldn’t surprise me, because Ms. Myers never does anything by halves, and always manages to exceed my expectations. But I really wasn’t prepared to love this story as much as I did. Quinn and Lucas (Smith) were so easy to love and become emotionally invested in- I found myself cheering them on right from the beginning. From the moment they ‘meet’ to the very last word, this story had me in its hold, while also playing with my emotions. I really loved this book. It definitely has all the qualities needed to make it a truly compelling read. You will laugh, and you will cry… and you will love every minute. There were so many elements to this story, which were cleverly crafted by Ms. Myers, into this captivating story, which I’m sure you will love just as much as I do!

Cowboy: Claimed is a wonderful Anthology by six talented authors. These authors all have different styles and approaches to writing, and each story is unique and individual- but they all have the same theme as inspiration for each of their stories- and that is, sexy cowboys. I went into this book not really knowing what to expect, because all six of these authors are new-to-me, but I have come out the other side, totally impressed and entertained. All the stories are superbly done- quite engrossing, with wonderful plotting, well developed characters- and all were entirely enjoyable. I am always excited when I get to explore the work of authors I’ve never read before, especially wen I love what I find and can add their work to my TBR. The Anthology contains:

Ring Tru by Janice M. Whiteaker a four-star read that will ring your bell. This is the first book in the Thick as Thieves series and oh what a start. Tru was a great character and she will pull you into the story in a great manner, she is complex but compelling. One thing I will say was that I found the start a little slow, but then got hooked into it and couldn’t put it down until I was finished. The second story can’t come quick enough as just like this second chance story the authors writing is just second to none.

Born to Fight by Brittany Anne is the first book in the Can’t Resist You series, this was my first book by this author but it certainly won’t be my last. I ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. This dystopian read had me truly entertained from start to finish. It’s intense, action-packed, detailed and highly captivating.
I really enjoyed that this story is told in many POV’s along with flashbacks laced throughout, it made me feel fully immersed in the story and like no detail was left out. I can’t wait to continue this series with book 2 once released.
This is a book I would recommend to anyone looking for their next dystopian read!

Calling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly a five-star read that will knock you out of the park. This was my first read by this author and it won’t be my last, it’s in the first read Lawson family series and shows us some great promise in the family stories. Jamie Lawson will break your heart, reading his story is compelling and brutal and you know that you want to pick him up and put him back together. Thankfully that job falls to Kira Walker, well sort of, as a bit of summer fun isn’t supposed to be this hard is it? The author has such a way with her words that you will feel the pain and heartache they feel. A brilliantly plotted and planned read.
