4 out of 5 stars
This book was beyond sweet. I love Christmas books. They give me all the warm, fuzzy feelings that make everything seem right in the world. This is book 2 in a four book series by this author. Our main gal, Mel, flies to Spain to house sit for her Aunt at her mom’s request. She is beyond confused as to why her own mother cannot do this, but since she plans on spending her days relaxing on the beach, she goes without hesitation.
After a very funny, series of not so unfortunate events, Mel finds herself at the mercy of the very sexy, non-English speaking Spanish stranger. Once she finally gets to her Aunt’s house, nothing is how she remembers it. Everything has changed and she has a whole lot that she needs to take care of. So much for lounging away her Christmas holiday on the beach.
This is such a sweet holiday romance novel. You can read it all in one sitting. I know I did. This author does such a great job creating a book where the story is vivid and the characters are lovable and unique. Easily a 4 star book.

5 of the 6 authors in this anthology are brand new to me and that’s something I always love about anthologies, I get to experience new authors.

I love a good cowboy book and getting 6 was awesome. As a collection each one had their own unique storyline and although I do have a couple favorites I sincerely enjoyed all of them. A bit predictable all the way through but each story was enjoyable and I also loved that the entire anthology was under 500 pages which made it easier to read in just over a day.

I highly recommend getting comfortable and settling in for these stories, I’ll guarantee there is something for everyone in this collection.

Loved it!!

Only This Tuesday: A Copper Mills Novella by Melissa Keir. This makes a few books I’ve read by Melissa Keir and I really like her writing. This is a really good romance. Its about Tuesday Benson who owns a Food Truck called Tuesday’s Tacos and Mayor Blake Rodgers. Cooper Mills is the town they live in and its an up and coming tourist town. Tuesday’s business adventure has some people up in arms and Blake is not sure what to do. As soon as he meets Tuesday he can’t get her out of his mind but throw in a mean reporter who is trying to take Tuesday down for more than one reason and it’s a big fat mess. Is Tuesday worth all the gossip and will him approving her Food Truck cost him the election? This is a small town romance with gossip, rumors and politics. Such a fun read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Tangy Christmas Kiss is the 2nd book in the Christmas Kiss series from author Allyson R Abbott. Even though these books are a part of series, they can be read as a stand-alone, but personally after enjoying each one of these you would want to read them all. This is my second read from this author and once again I was totally captivated by her writing style, her characters, and the brilliant storyline she has once again created. She has brilliant in depth writing, she makes her reads descriptive and I can’t wait to read some other books from her.

This book is a heart-warming, humour filled and romantic with incredible characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. For this not being an exceptionally long length novel I didn’t feel as though it was rushed, it was well written, easy, romantic read and I was captivated from the beginning. I loved following Mel’s journey in this read, and loved reading her developing connection with Lucas, they had a brilliant connection that I was glad that I got to follow along with!

Each one of these reads, seems to get better and better and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one. I highly recommend this read to all!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alive by Courtney Konstantin is the third book in the Sundown Series. This book can be read as a stand-alone.
Everything about this book intrigued me from the moment I read the blurb. It sounded exactly like the kind of book I enjoy and I have to say it certainly did not disappoint in entertaining.
This book is fast paced, intense and was so enthralling it had me on the edge of my seat. There were times when I could feel my heart beating so hard that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I absolutely had to know what was going to happen next.
It really felt like you were there with the characters, fighting alongside them every step of the way.
While this book can be read as a stand-alone – it is the first book I have read by this author – I can see how it would be beneficial to read the previous books in this series. I know I will be going straight back to read them! This was a brilliant book and one I can say I highly recommend.

This is the cutest story! Full of Christmas fun and cheer! There were so many things that made me laugh and smile. The story flowed very nicely and easily kept me entertained. The characters are fun and sexy. Jake made me laugh with his antics and his terror of children…err I mean the little germ carriers. His thoughts on children are they are cute…..from far away. Sam is a is a fiery redhead who also is Santa’s little helper. When problems arise with the stores Santa it’s up to Sam and Jake to get everything running smoothly.

This is a first time author for me and I wouldn’t hesitate to read another. Her characters were colorful and endearing. The story was heartfelt and fun. It’s short but worth it for a little Christmas fun.

I really like paranormal stories and when you add the added bonus of time travel well who could ask for anything more? The author has such a refreshing world that she has created. The story line is unique and the story just grabs you and keeps you glued to the pages.

I really felt myself connected with Emeline. The way she built her life with Samoset and his people really adds to the story. I really liked how she is able to time travel and the drama that is played out in the book as she fights to put the future straight really keep you enticed. This book is such an addicting read and I will most certainly be reading it again as well as more books from this author.

Santa’s Little Helper by Shaan Ranae is a holiday short story that I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed how it includes characters that have a love of family. It also has a steamy side to it as Jake takes notice of “Santa’s Little Helper.” There are plenty of laughable moments in this story and others that are heartwarming. I loved reading about the character of Jake. He is a man that has a business to run and a deal to close. When there is an emergency Santa issue he tries to get someone to put on the red suit. He soon finds himself unable to take his eyes off a certain “helper.” What does the Christmas season have in store for Jake? Read this book to find out. There are a few additional characters that I enjoyed reading about. I found myself wanting to know a little more about them and about Jake. The spirit of the season and some steamy romance makes this a book I would recommend reading.

Miscommunication and secrets seems to have kept them apart. Can they find a way to communicate honestly and find what was once lost?

Billie wanted so much more, but what she found was that the grass is definitely not greener on the other side. Finally coming home means she has to face her past and hope against hope that her past is happy to see her.

Hometown Heroes: A Christmas Anthology is a wonderful set of stories that I loved reading. Having stories that are set around Christmas and then adding in some romance gives you that heartwarming feeling that the season is all about. There is no doubting the magic of the season as you read each story. The woman in these tales are fiery, independent, and strong. While the stories are not long they have enough emotion in them that I found myself with misty eyes and a smile on my face. I found that these stories stayed with me and I thought about them even after I had finished the anthology. Some are set in the past and others are in the present day. All make a lasting impression on your soul. I have read stories by some of the authors and enjoyed reading stories by them again. I also have discovered new authors and look forward to reading more of their writing. This is a wonderful group of stories that have amazing characters. Highly recommended.

Alive (Sundown Series Book 3)
By: Courtney Konstantin
5 out of 5 stars

The story Alive (Sundown Series Book 3) by Courtney Konstantin is a thrilling book that I loved reading. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world where those who become infected with a plague turn into flesh-eating zombies. This story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It is suspenseful and at times I had to remind myself to breathe. I loved reading about the characters of Rafe and Charlie. They both work at a facility where secret experiments are being conducted. A plague has started to turn anyone it infects and they find themselves in a world that has been turned upside-down and in chaos. They also find themselves pursued by mercenaries. Will Rafe and Charlie be able to survive both the zombies and those who are hunting them down? Read this book to find out. This story does an amazing job in making you feel like you are right there with the characters and experiencing what they do. I could feel the fear that they have when facing those who are infected. Charlie is a beautiful, smart, and strong woman. She is driven to prove that she can be an equal partner to Rafe, not just a responsibility. Rafe is a man that is determined to keep alive and also protect Charlie. He is someone who is caring and will defend himself and others. There are other additional characters that are introduced in the story and I enjoyed reading about the part that they play and their interactions with Charlie and Rafe. I absolutely love post-apocalyptic tales of survival and this book is an example of why. It is well-written and you won’t want to put it down until you read the last page. Highly recommended.

4 Stars

Hometown Heroes: A Christmas Anthology is a collection of five short stories by six wonderfully talented authors. These authors all have different styles and approaches to writing; all are unique and individual- but each story uses the same theme as their inspiration for writing their contribution to this anthology- the common thread running through each of the stories celebrates everyday heroes. Whether their heroism is gained through devotion, or leaving behind the safe and familiar in the hope of adventure and challenge, or saving a life by grabbing them from the clutches of death, or by being a war hero, or being someone who fights for what they believe in, or having the courage to leave a painful past behind in order to embrace the future- we meet a variety of leading characters, each one a hero in their own right and are unique to their storyline. All the stories are set around Christmas, and are packed full of Christmas spirit.

The Anthology contains:

-Courtship and Courage By: Carrie Dalby
-When Time Stood Still By: Chelsi Arnold and J.D Boudreaux
-Hobbes House Noel By: C.J Petterson
-Talking in Code By: E.A Hale
-Safe Haven By: Jolie St. Amant

All the stories are so engaging and believable- with wonderfully written plots, and well developed characters. I have read books by several of these talented authors before- but three of the authors were new to me… so I was excited to not only read the work of the authors I knew and loved, but also get an introduction to some authors who are new to me.
So, settle down for some wonderful reading, which will entice you with heartfelt romance, some suspense, a bit of mystery, history, some paranormal, action, drama, adventure, and more. There is something here for everyone!
I really recommend this Anthology- you won’t regret buying it! It is worth every cent of the purchase price- and by purchasing this anthology you will be helping out a charity in the process, as a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Cajun Navy Relief! #Win-Win!

Thank you to all the contributing authors!

Alive (Sundown Series Book 3)Alive by Courtney Konstantin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alive is the third thrilling instalment in the Sundown Series by Courtney Konstantin. This is a brilliant zombie, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic story with heart pounding action, drama, danger, government experiments, a plague, and a fight for survival. I am not kidding when I say I was on the edge of my seat for the majority of this story. The book is intense- and Ms. Konstantin took me on an adventure I won’t soon forget. There are a LOT of Zombie/apocalyptic stories that have made the rounds over the past few years, but this one is an original take on Zombie lore- easily pulling me in and keeping so totally engrossed that I lost all sense of time and place. I was in a page-flipping frenzy, desperately needing to know what was on the next page, and in store for the characters. Completely absorbed by the story, I finished it in one sitting. I am still thinking about it several hours later! Now that’s a sign of a great story and a superb author!
Ms. Konstantin has a vividly descriptive style that brought every scene to life. I was right there, in amongst the action, fighting for survival! The story is so gripping, gruesome, and disturbing- but at the same time there is a depth to the story and the multi-dimensional characters, that really sets this book apart from others in the same genre.
This is my first read from Ms. Konstantin- and even though this could be read as a standalone, it is abundantly clear that there is so much more to know, and that has made me even more intrigued by this fantastic story/series. I will definitely be going back to read the first two books, as well!
Honestly, if you love a thrilling read, Zombie/apocalyptic/survival stories with a gripping, well-written plot, and incredibly interesting characters- then this book should on your TBR! It’s a definite ‘must read’!
Addictive reading! Can’t wait for more!

Thank you, Ms. Konstantin!

Alive is the last book in the Sundown Series by Courtney Konstantin. This is not my usual genre of reads but I have to say after the first chapter this book did hold my interest and for the most part had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was or wasn’t going to happen. I also think I need to go get books one and two, so I know the whole story. What plans do you make when doomsday has arrived? Rafe and Charlie must now make these plans and hope they survive. The world as the humans now know it must fight against flesh eating zombies, where only the strongest would survive. Rafe and Charlie however not only had the flesh-eating zombies to worry about but also the Government radicals to take into account. The Government Radicals were after everyone who worked at Rafes family’s facility and that included Charlie and Rafe. Will Rafe and Charlie survive both the Zombies and the Radicals? Grab the book and find out, you won’t be disappointed it really is worth the read.

The books within this box set are honestly some of the most entertaining, enjoyable and even emotional reads I have read in 2018. I didn’t read them all in sequential order as they are still great as stand alone books. Each story is comprised of the most relatable, honest and raw characters with their own unique past and present. I could go on forever! Cowboy: Claimed by Melissa Keir (Author), Cheryl Gorman (Author), Leslie P. Garcia (Author), Becca Turner (Author), Lyssa Layne (Author), D’Ann Lindun (Author). I loved this box set. All of the stories were so good. One of my favorites was Snow Bird Springs: Troy by Cheryl Gorman. Its the story of Alex Kent, a famous artist out of Chicago who has recently suffered a horrible tragedy. She moves to Snow Bird Springs Colorado to try to get her “mojo” back, since the tragedy she hasn’t painted anything. She meets Troy Slade shortly upon arriving and they hit if off instantly. Will Snow Bird Springs help her trust again or will she go back to Chicago still lost and hurting. Also Upstaging The Cowboy by Leslie P. Garcia was a sweet read. It’s the story of Stone Winters, a Marine who comes home and Price Adams, a film star. When the two meet they don’t think they can trust one another. Risking hurt is not what either of them signed up for. This is a Set full of sweet, Cowboy stories. I read them all and loved them all.

Truly has lost her memory of all that happened as a child. She is under Doctors care and he is trying to help her remember. The nightmares are speaking to her and she just does not understand who or why. She works 3 jobs, and still can’t seem to make ends meet. Not to mention the abuse she has to put up with is getting the best of her.

Jeff is a detective, his goal is to find out about the death of a classmate at the young age of 9. Now more “accidents“ are happening. Following the fortunes the bodies are found with. Are they accidents or murder? Who is involved?

C. A. King has built this story up and kept me reading. The characters are well suited for their parts in this book. The suspense is so twisted,it even had me second guessing what is really happening. I love a story that keeps me drawn in. This will definitely make you want more. Both he and Charlie Brewer work at a facility where secret government experiments are carried out, experiments that are classified even to them. Then the plague breaks loose, and hell arrives on earth.

Rafe and Charlie must band together to stay alive in a world where flesh-eating zombies hunt humankind. But the plague victims aren’t the worst Rafe and Charlie have to worry about. Government radicals are devoted to silencing the last witness to the cause of the plague by killing everyone who worked in that facility– including Rafe and Charlie.

Rafe must do everything he can to keep Charlie hidden. But the chances of them surviving in the wild alone are slim… especially while being tracked down by American mercenaries.

Only the strong will remain. To outlast the plague, they must stay ALIVE.

As a child, Courtney always had aspirations of being a writer. She participated in journalism in school. At home, she wrote short stories, poetry and filled diary pages. Somewhere along the line becoming an adult took priority over her writing and she went to work in business operations.

Now as a mother to three beautiful children, she tells them all the time to follow their dreams, be whatever they want. Those lessons reminded her how much she loved writing. She finally opened the door to making writing a real priority in her life.

Living outside of Portland, Oregon she loves the green and beauty Oregon offers. When she’s not matching wits with her children, her crazy Siberian Husky or her bi-polar cats, she enjoys binge reading, hikes and touring wineries. Courtney and her husband, the love of her life, enjoy traveling the world whenever they can get a free moment. And cruises….she loves cruising. She’s especially fond of life, laughter and sarcasm – and she’s excited to share all of that and more with her readers!

A Sweet Holiday/Christmas Romance
Five years ago, Billie left her small town home for the bright lights of New York City, determined to spread her wings and fly. Her biggest disappointment was that Leroy, the love of her life, didn’t follow. Pride stopped them from contacting each other, allowing too much time to pass.
Eventually returning home to help out her family, Billie is catching up with friends and family as Christmas nears when she runs into Leroy. Shocked to see how much he’s changed, she discovers the real reason he’d couldn’t accompany her to the east.
Has five years apart untangled their hearts? Or does it just need the magic of Christmas and The Deuce to bring them back together?

#1 International Bestselling and Award-Winning Author (fiction and non-fiction) A Blooming Boomer who loves life on the road, making new friends and meeting great people. Life in the slow lane!

After a few full-on years of travelling, which included a year and a half checking out New Zealand, a few Pacific islands, Australia and South Africa, 15months driving around the USA in a motorhome, some quick few weeks visit to Canada, Mexico, Cuba and Spain, Allyson and her husband have now decided to pull over onto the hard shoulder for a while and have settled on the Valencian Province in Spain. Life is rich, according to Allyson, but the pocket is empty and she needed time to focus on her writing. It is very easy to get distracted when you see so many beautiful places.

The last twelve months have seen three new nonfiction books; all to help authors write, publish and promote their books, thirteen short sexy reads penned as Cyra May and three new Christmas stories all to be published in 2018

Of course being locked in a room and chained to a desk, did not help top up her sun tan, but at least Allyson was very productive.
