The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart is book five of the Carolina Connections series. This book is Liv and Brett’s story. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down.
Liv is smart and knows want she needs out of life. When she meets Brett, she immediately friend zoned him. She has her boyfriend and baseball, she’s good. That is until she realizes she’s starting to crush on him. Brett is used to being friend zoned. He’s always the friend. This time however, it’s not going to work for him. He has feelings for Liv and he won’t be just the friend. Will Brett get Liv to take him out of the friend zone?
I loved these characters and found myself rooting from them right from the beginning. They experience so many different emotions and turmoil, it was hard not to feel that with them. This book was great and I’m glad I read it!

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in the two part book Nite Fire by C. L. Schneider. This book is a shifter book which means it has fantasy, mystery, magic, dragons, and of course shifters. This story took me on a wild roller coaster ride. There isn’t a dull moment in the story. The characters are developed and not only are the primary characters awesome in the story so are the secondary. I love how Schneider interwove the “human” world with in the story. Dahlia Nite is a shifter but she is also an assassin. There is an execution warrant out for her and that is how she ends up in the “human” world. It is there were she uses her specialty to help people. Will Dahlia be found? Will she be able to help those around her? Read this story to find out. You may want to have a good amount of time to read because you will want to finish the book in one sitting.

Once again Virginia Wine has changed my mind again about which book is my favourite. Surviving Jordan has got to be the best one. I was totally pulled into this read and captivated until the end! This author has an incredible writing style that will pull you in from just reading the blurb, then really holds you captive as you follow the journey of the two main characters Ben & Jordan. This book takes you on a rollercoaster of a journey with romance and suspense.
These two characters have an intense passion and an immediate connection. You couldn’t help but hope they got a HEA. This truly has been another incredible addition to this series, and I cannot wait to see how much further this author can take this series! She has outdone herself again and I cannot wait to experience more from here, Until then do not miss this book!

Killer Lawyer was an exciting and gripping read and one that I really enjoyed. It’s not my usual reading genre but I have read work by this author before and I was gripped by what I read so I was happy to give his work one more try and again I was so glad I did. The author has created such a multi-dimensional story that I just couldn’t put it down; he kept me guessing the whole way through with his rich detailed writing full of twists and turns. The multiple points of view in the story give for a full rounded read and the characters, as expected, were well developed. I really like Jake’s character, he is a determined person and very meticulous in what he does. I love his ‘relationship’ with Cody! I love the way people form such close bonds with their dogs. Overall I thought that this was a great read, one that definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Surviving Jordan is the 3rd book in the Surviving Series by Virginia Wine. Each book focusses on a different couple but the main group of characters appear in all books and there is a progression of the storyline, so this series should be read in order to avoid any confusion and possible spoilers. I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed. The characters and the storylines are so well written, you will devour these books and be totally sucked in. Surviving Jordan focusses on Ben (brother of Alex from Surviving The Storm) and Jordan, his boss. Ben and Jordan have both been head over heels in love with each other for over 10 years. Jordan is sick of waiting for Ben to do something about it and has decided to give up on him and move on. Unknown to Jordan, Ben’s father left him a letter when he died saying that Jordan was Ben and Alex’s sister. On seeing that Jordan was moving on Ben decides to get his father’s body exhumed to do a DNA test in the hope that his father may have been wrong. So are Ben and Jordan actually siblings? Can either of them actually move on and put aside the strong feelings they have for each other? If they are not actually siblings, has Ben left it too late? Read this awesome book (and the 2 books that come before it) to find out. I promise that this series will not disappoint.

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider Four Stars
Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in the Nite Fire series by C.L. Schneider. This is the fourth book I have read by this author, which I believe is the total books written so far. I have to say that the world building and character development is well beyond the usual talent of a new author. This book is amazingly detailed and flowed smoothly throughout. I was hooked on the very first page and couldn’t put this book down. The story is filled with action, suspense and mystery. Dalia Nite has fled her home planet and taken up residence in the human world. She is isolated and protecting the humans without their knowledge for them allowing her to stay in relative peace. Things start to get messy when more non human creatures start causing trouble, but will Dalia be able to solve the mystery? This is a great book and if you like paranormal, I highly recommend this book. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This story is so cute. Brett is my type of guy. He has all the things a girl could want. I would look past his height because he has so many redeeming qualities. The way these characters are written had me laughing out loud multiple times. The characters side comments to themselves were hilarious. I really enjoyed this authors work. Written in the Stars by T. Birmingham is the second book in the Fallen Eagles MC series. This boll is as gripping and as consuming as the first. This author seriously knows how to write a novel that will grab your attention and keep you invested in every single detail throughout the whole book. The whole way through I kept trying to figure out what was happening but the story was so fast paced and full of twists and turns that it kept me on my toes. This book can be read on its own however I really do recommend reading book 1 first. They are both just so good I think you would be missing out by only reading one of them.

Surviving Jordan is book three in the Surviving series by Virginia Wine. And just like the drink, these stories get keep getting better. I absolutely adore each couple, and each story is unique in itself, although sharing characters from previous books. The author weaves such a tantalising tale, it is hard to predict what readers may be blessed with next.
Ben and Jordan are quite the complex couple. Apart despite the exhausting attraction that ignites years before, and the flame has not once dwindled. The heat has only intensified over time. A dastardly secret keeps them apart, but for how long??
Their love was a thing of beauty. Their story beguiling and dangerous. Their journey long and arduous. Their strength immeasurable. Their bond unbreakable. Their ending, Everything. I loved this instalment and did not want it to end. A new amazing story to be added to the unforgettable list. 5 stars.

Nite Fire: Chain Reaction by C. L. Schneider. I went into this story not really putting much thought into it, it sounded okay and I liked the cover but it was one of those I’m in a reading rutt and need something new to read stories. This is my first story by C.L. Schneider and im glad I gave it a shot. Dahlia Nite is a great character and though she has some secrets she’s keeping from her partner Creed she’s doing it to protect him. Nite Fire has a great storyline that’s unique and different from other dragon shifter stories. I’m glad I gave it a shot I’m looking forward to reading book two, Nite Fire: Chain Reaction.

This is the fist book by this author I have read and I was very impressed. I found the authors writing style quite refreshing. The book kept my attentions from cover to cover.
The chemistry between Perrin and Emil well it’s explosive. I really like how the author wrote in Emil’s PTSD to the story. I just love how Perrin is his saving grace. I really found myself routing for Emil and really enjoyed how the author brought the characters to life . I really enjoyed this book and I will in future read more from this author.
Surviving Jordan is the third book in the Surviving series by Virginia Wine. This series should be read in order because the characters overlap and also because the first two books are also excellent reads. This just may be my very favorite from Ms. Wine. This book hooked me from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. It is filled with action, suspense and romance. This is Jordan and Ben’s story and it had me rooting for a happily ever after, but I wasn’t quite sure I was going to get it. You will need to read it to find out. This book, series and author are definitely worth reading. I was thoroughly entertained and look forward to reading more that Ms. Wine has in store for us.

A great read about being different. Deputy Sherriff William Shannahan is a police officer in a small sleepy town in America. His life is changed when he stumble over a mauled body of a kid in the woods whilst out running. Everyone else thinks it is simply a dog attack, but William senses something just isn’t right. His fears are confirmed when what was one attack turns into a series of murders even crossing counties. Can he solve the mystery before the killer strikes again? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. The use of suspense was drawn out to perfection making you want to keep reading to find out what happened. Well developed characters like Will trying his best but still standing up for himself or Cassie trying to look after her son despite financial troubles. Great cast of supporting characters like the sweet kid of George or the prickly Paterson or the people pleaser Mike. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the natural imagery of the woods full of volour and life and detail and beauty but also hiding dangers. Or the sense of the small town surrounded by farmland and marshes where everyone knows eachother but is also isolated, a perfect setting for the horror events. Or the sunrise and sunsets in vibrant colours and beauty written to perfection. or the contrasts between light and dark that were perfectly written and use of shadows to gice an eerie sense to events. I loved the use of the supernatural throughout the novel with a mix of cultures and red herrings an added sense of mystery and magic. This combination with the realism of policemen and crimes ws perfectly written and made for a enjoyable read. Fast paced action with high stakes make for a highly captivating read. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

5 Star Beneath the Surface (A Gray Ghost Novel Book3 ) by Amy McKinley is the third book in the A Gray Ghost series and is a book that has a little bit of everything from mystery to suspense and romance. I do suggest that if you haven’t read the first two books in this series that you do but its not necessary. I have truly enjoyed this series and this one is I must say my favorite so far. This is Hannah and Jack’s story and about second chances and learning to trust.These two are both strong independent people. But what happens when Hannah is accused of being a traitor? Can Jack risk it all to save her? At some points I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. Can Hannah trust Jack? Find out what happens next. Surviving the Storm by Virginia Wine is the second book in the Surviving Series and I think it may be my favorite so far. Alex was very appealing in the first book. In this book it his appeal is multiplied a hundred times.
Alex has a giant chip on his shoulder and we learn why it’s there. Horrible childhood memories have a horrible way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it. I love Alex’s relationship with his brother Ben. Ms. Wine captured the brother relationship so well.
Madison is an amazing woman and I’m so glad Theo found her and brought her into his life. She really impressed me and wish more young woman were like her. She seems to love with her whole heart and will do anything for those she loves.
This is a great series so far and looking forward to the next book.

The Way You Are by Sylvie Stewart is the fifth book in the Carolina Connections series. I loved this book for so many different reasons. First I loved Tambo, Liv’s dog. He made me smile every time.
Second I loved Brett, he wasn’t the stereotypical leading male character. He wasn’t a giant who’s muscles had muscles. What he was is a caring man who knows how to treat a woman. Any Mom would be proud to have him date their daughter.
Liv was funny and a proud baseball fan (Go Cubs!) who doesn’t allow anyone to intimidate her, well almost anyone.
It was great catching up with everyone and seeing where they are now in their relationships. I hope the next book comes out soon.

This is Jordan and Ben’s story. These two had chemistry when she first started working at the company but after Ben’s dad passed away a letter from his dad quickly changed the direction that Jordan and Ben were heading.
Jordan is confused as to why Ben has pulled back and gotten distant. She thought that they were both on the same page. Trying to move forward she pursues something with Steel, who due to work issues and concerns for her safety he had to pull back and cease a relationship with her.
When Ben gets some answers to his questions he realizes there is now nothing standing between him and Jordan any longer. Will he be able to get Jordan or is it too late? Can he finally get the HEA he is looking for with Jordan?
This is a good read and I really liked Jordan and Ben. All of the other secondary characters were great as well. We also get POV from Steel as well as he deals with some dangerous issues involving his men. He quickly grew on me and I hope we get to see his story soon. My heart went out to him and the choices he had to make to keep people safe. Virginia Wine has done another great job of pulling me right in with her writing.

Climbing The Walls is the first book in Sacha T.Y. Fortune’s Hart & Cole series. It is my first encounter with the writer and if I am not mistaken, it is her debut book and if that is the case then be prepared for some greatness coming our way in future! She warns us that we should read the stories in the order they are published for the optimal enjoyment as they are linked and we meet the same characters in all of them, just that the focus is on different ones in each of them. Climbing The Walls is the story of Nicole and Kristopher. Their story is of raw emotions and the baggage that both of them bring along into their marriage. As the story is told alternatingly from both of their point of view then at no point do one need to wonder how and what anyone is feeling! It also shows us how we interpret people and situations through the lenses of our past. The story is gripping and keeps you hooked until you come to the end! It is the story of a marriage and parenting and relationships and … The writer has filled the story with love and heartache, hope, fear, passion, regret, desperation … and even though there is no real cliffhanger, you find out whose the next book is about and you know that you need to pick up a copy when it gets published!

We Tell lies to for the most part because we don’t see a way around the situation. Or we tell lies to make our live seem better. Natalie doesn’t really know what she wants but she knew what lies to tell to get out of what she didn’t. I don’t know if I could ever be friends with the woman who ruined my marriage . Yes you can move on with your life. But to actually have conversations, dinners and outings nope. I was super sad about Collins but Jack made up for it. The story was well written. The author made the characters more flawed and believable. I wasn’t a big fan of Natalie but she kinda grew on me.

This book was a rollercoaster of emotion!! I loved reading this book, it felt so real and I got completely invested in the characters lives and their marriage. This story had some unexpected twists and turns. I felt connected to Kris and Nicole and some of their hardships. There were times when I got so frustrated with Nicole and other times when I could empathize with her. I was taken on an unexpected journey of highs and lows, I laughed , I cried, and experienced every emotion in between while reading this story. I can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book.

I have to say that I was happy to dive into Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider. It was a refreshing to dive into a story that had a world with a shifter. I was impressed with the authors ability to create a world that was enjoyable with characters that were easily liked. I was more than happy to immerse myself in this world and felt like I’d want nothing more than to return back to it.
An amazing and fast paced novel, I could not put The Lies We Tell by Brittany Butler down. Natalie is a runner and has lived a life of half truths. She has also endured a lot over the years. In enjoyed reading how her past and her lies caught up with her and changed the course of her future. I also loved that she was an author and has to learn to not let what others think affect her. I feel like she really matured as the novel progressed. I also enjoyed Tabitha, Collin, and Jack’s characters. Each one had their own interesting personality. The love triangle was also a great mix to the storyline. I really enjoyed reading it!

Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing was a pretty okay read that was full of misunderstanding, raw emotions and second chances.
Not my first read by this author, so I knew that going in that this book would be well written and detailed. I was not disappointed on that front, but, I do have some mixed feelings.
Lets get what irked me out of the way first. I feel like our MC’s weren’t that good of a pair. It showed towards the end when Emil was opening up to Perrin, and she just exploded on him. That showed me her lack of understanding of the job he had to do in a combat zone, and not getting that things in this world are never black and white. Perrin, for me, seemed a little too immature for her age and frankly, got way too angry, too fast, and jump too many conclusions, before even considering a different outcome. It didn’t help that she has a unhealthy outlook on life. Yes I do know it improves as her and Emil relationship grows, but for me, that first part of their love, felt forced and irking. I will give her backing her sister, and being there for her when things weren’t looking good. And yes I do know she agrees that she needed help of her own, but there was this overmature/immatureness, that for me, didn’t mix well.
Now I did love her and Emil first official conversation, that felt natural and special. I think if there was more of that, leading up, and maybe keeping that friendship aspect longer, before getting into the instalove, then I would have believed in them more.
As for Emil, he got attached to her, fast, and that brewing, no F’s, persona quickly went out the window. I could see the unhealthy way he was clinging to Perrin, but, and I do get why, given he’s PDSD. Overall Emil did have the most character growth, and tried to put his broken soul back together. I gravitate more towards him, and having that split POV really saved this read for me.
The writing was solid, and the conversations flowed nicely and naturally. The ending was the ultimate book saver for me. It showed a Perrin that had mulled over the hurtful things that she said, and admitted that she should have listened to Emil before acting like a child. She finally understood the damage that she cause, and found the courage and willingness to fix it. That revelation did lessen my dislike for her. That ending brought me back to the start, to that first special moment, were I did saw a true connection between them, and the epilogue, that finally drove the nail home for me, and pushed this read into that 4 star spot.
Overall I did enjoy this read, even with my mixed feelings. As I like to say, reading is subjective so my reaction will not be the same as yours. There is a lot of good things in this book, and the raw emotions, and struggles of coming home after a combat deployment, were heartbreaking and so very true. Care was taken in writing this book, and it shined a eye opening spotlight on the damaged us serving members have to face. No-one likes a broken hero, and that mentality needs to change. This book, sends that message loud and clear, and I’m proud to see it written to bluntly.
So please take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval that this book will get you in the feels
I enjoyed reading this book and getting to know Natalie or at least what we think we know, since you never can tell if your hearing the truth. This book kept me wondering throughout and kept me intrigued. The timeline does jump around from time to time and kept me on my toes. I found this book to be original, funny, realistic, dramatic with some steamy moments thrown in there. This book definitely took me on an unexpected ride, and I enjoyed every minute of it. There are some wonderful characters in this story and I recommend this book, you won’t be able to put it down till you have read the last page.
Paladin Hell is the first novel in the Colorado Chapter series by Manda Mellet. This is my first novel by this author.
After going through a nightmare, Jayden gets a knight in shining leather by the name Paladin. He looks out for her, protects her and while there are feelings surfacing, there relationship can go no further.
Years past, and their relationship progresses but are there people who will try to tear them apart?
With the being the first book of a spinoff series, I wasn’t familiar with the characters but I didn’t feel confused. I was really engrossed the story and reading about the two relationships that form and the intertwining of the characters history.
I loved Paladin and how he was always there for Jayden. Because of what she went through, I was glad their relation was more slow and took more time to develop.
I will definitely have to go back read the original story but I look forward to reading more of this as well.
Surviving Jordan, by Virginia Wine, is the third book of the Surviving Series. This is another well written romantic suspense featuring Ben and Jordan’s story. I really enjoyed seeing characters from the previous book(s) carried through into each subsequent book. It added additional depth and intrigue to the story/series. The author has expertly woven suspense in this story to make it more full. The emotions that are invoked in this story were beautifully done. Add in the chemistry and the story was truly divine.

Surviving the Storm, by Virginia Wine, is the second book in the Surviving series. This contemporary romance features Alexander Kincaid Storm III who was introduced as a supporting character in the first book of the series. In this story, Alexander has his work cut out for him and what he wants may not be as available as he wishes. The chemistry between Alexander and Madison is off the charts, though their paths are not easy ones. Virginia Wine continues this wonderful series, continuing to give the romantic feels, but at the same time giving the reader the needed drama and suspense to make this a worthwhile and thorough read.

Virginia Wine gripped my interest once again with Surviving Jordan. This is book three in her Surviving Series. Her story telling is like a painting; with each stroke the brush the picture becomes clearer. Virginia will get to tell you everything but not until she is ready to do so. In Surviving Jordan, there is a secret Ben’s father kept to himself until his passing. Jordan was hired by Ben’s father and was off limits. Will Jordan become Ben’s lover or will Ben stay away from Jordan? These questions and more will be revealed in Surviving Jordan.

Shadow’s Keep: A Novel by Meghan O’Flynn is a new thriller suspense book that leaves you chilled to the very core. I mean who doesn’t love a book that begins with a dead body found in the woods, with a cause of death labelled as suspicious. This is why you never go running in the woods, 90% of the time you’ll find a body, the other 10% will be running into spider webs and being eaten alive by bugs. I found this book a little difficult to get into, as I struggled to understand and sympathize with William as a character. I think this was mainly due to the writing style and getting into the way Meghan framed the narrative. I much preferred Cassie as a character, and really enjoyed her character as it progressed throughout the novel. After getting in the story I really started to enjoy it and was left stumped at all the twists and turns that the novel took. I’m really starting to like Meghan O’Flynn’s books and the way she weaves a masterful story. Can’t wait to read another book from her. 4/5 stars
