Paladin’s Hell: Satan’s Devil MC (Colorado Chapter) By Manda Mellett
Ok so even though I love reading books by Manda I didn’t think I was ready to move on to a new MC Chapter. But boy was I wrong, although it didn’t grab me as quick as the Satan’s Devil MC series, I ended up loving meeting new and a couple of old characters. Paladin’s Hell Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) is the spin off series to Satan’s Devil MC. Now this book can be ready as a standalone since it’s the first book in the new series, but I really think you need to start with the original series just, so you have a background history on the club. Now this book is no different to the last series and does deal with some issues that may upset some readers. Putting the heavy subject matters aside I reckon we are in for another hit series by Manda, a journey I can’t wait to go on.

The Way You Are is book 5 in the Carolina Connections series by Sylvie Stewart. My first read by this author, and what a merry dance I was led on. A refreshing change from the dark and twisted stories I love so much.
Brett MacKinnon always comes in second best, which delegates him to the friend zone. He has this charismatic personality that just makes him too sweet and the ladies just don’t take him seriously. To go after his lady love, he needs to toughen up, take charge, or risk getting left behind.
Liv is a feisty little lover of sport. A very strong personality does she possess, and she is not afraid to go after what she wants, that is of she really knows what she wants. She was hilarious and a true pleasure to get to know.
The Way You Are was brilliantly written, engaging, arresting, riveting. A storyline that draws you in immediately, and the ending comes far too quickly. A charismatic cast that will undoubtedly entertain anyone who picks it up and reads it. A fantastic 5 star story.

I love a good suspense and this definitely did not disappoint. This book had me riveted on the first page and held me in its grip tightly until the last. The author has a strong clear voice and provides a great tone and pace with this story and it’s characters. It was extremely well written and kept me guessing until the final page. If you like suspense and thrillers, you have to read this book immediately. Highly recommended.

PLAYER (21st Century Courtesan Book 1) by Pamela DuMond is bittersweet and an original story that is multi layered in its telling. There is lots of emotions, highs and lows and is complex and mysterious, as it is sexy and as suspenseful, as it is dramatic, and it is definitely captivating in its uniqueness.
Evies life has been plagued with mental health issues. Everything she has done is so she can take care of her family and that is why she is where she is today. She has a unique ability, that makes her highly sort after by the rich and famous but who is able to help her?
It is as beautiful as it is bittersweet. I am a definite Pamela DuMond fan after this read and there is so much more story to tell and I can not wait for the next book in the series.

Wow. This book left me speechless. This powerful story was riveting, raw, emotional, and dark. The twists and turns left me glued to my seat as I read. I will be going back to read this again to work through the story again. It’s just that good – I had a hard time walking away from it, even once I finished the last page. Excellent, excellent book.

A Tendency Dark and Dangerous by Emmalyn Danvers is a surprisingly intriguing and engrossing read. It is sexy, hot, somewhat dark, and quite addictive. The story isn’t like any I have read before- because this is written in ‘free-verse’, and does have a poetic pace and structure to the way the story is told. That did take a little getting used to, and I applaud the author for taking the chance to be different from other books in similar genre’s. Evangeline is twenty seven- years old and from all appearances, has the perfect life. A great job, good friends, and a loving boyfriend. She is focused on her career in a publishing house, and will soon be up for promotion. She has definitely come a long way from the difficult childhood that she once endured. But her life is quickly turned upside down when she meets Landon Kelly, a sexy, successful businessman- with a dark and commanding edge. She becomes beguiled by him- as he stirs a powerful need within her. He has a reputation as a player, and has a ‘way’ with women- who seem to be drawn to him like moths to a flame. Evangeline is pulled to him, like nothing ever before. Her emotions are all over the place, and especially feels guilty for being so attracted to this man, when she already has a loving, safe and dependable boyfriend. But Landon is nothing if not persistent, and Evangeline can only fight their intense chemistry for so long. When she finally gives in to desire, it starts a fire that won’t be put out. Her ‘perfect’ life begins to crumble as addiction takes over. And we’re right there, with front row seats, to see how it all plays out. Intriguing. Emotional. Heartbreaking. Gripping. Dark. Sexy. Well worth the read! This story gave my emotions quite a battering, and I really felt for Evangeline. This is a fascinating look at a particular facet of addiction- it’s definitely not a light and fluffy read. I was so angry in parts, there was a certain character whom I really wanted to kick in the ‘family jewels’ for being a total PIG! But I won’t get into the reasons why because it would give away too much and spoil the story for you. I do recommend looking past the fact that this is written in free-verse, give it a chance because the story is worth your time. I am definitely looking forward to reading more of Ms. Danvers work!

Best Foot Forward is the first book in the Liberty Lawrence series by Bea Stevens. This is such a charming, fairly light-hearted and fun read- I was entirely engaged and entertained the whole way through. This is a great start to a wonderful series, and lays down the building blocks and foundation for the rest of the series to be built on I loved Liberty, she loves fashion…. And adores shoes!! She’s a little clumsy, fun, and a little off-beat….. which made her very endearing and entirely relatable. This series follows her escapades, with interesting and very entertaining results. Libby has a job as a junior manager at a London hotel, where we soon discover that her boss’s office is the site of a theft. Libby has a good idea of who the culprit could be, but the handsome investigating officer doesn’t seem interested in her opinion. There’s a lot to enjoy about this delightful tale- and what transpires made for some really great reading.

Surviving the Storm was a great 5 star read and book two in the Surviving Series.

We start out in the past with Alexander and learning some background on him and his family. We go to present day and of Alex thinking about his one night with his best friend Theo’s sister Madison and wanting more with her. And it was definitely a hot and steamy evening, but there was a huge unexpected twist the next morning. And then she was gone.
Madison is moving to California, she is a fashion designer and is working on her career. She will be closer to her brother Theo, Eden and him. She will be leaving her fiance in New York, yes fiance.
At a party that her friends were throwing for her she sees Alex and he’s in prime form and confronts Madison about her secret and was a complete jerk. Seeing him brought back some memories of their night together. Alex is determined to have Madison for himself and won’t stop until he does. Will Madison break off her engagement? Can they have a HEA?
I loved reading Madison and Alex’s story, I didn’t want to stop until I was done. You feel like your right there with them. Of course their journey had several twist and turns, and we discover that the fiance is someone that is abusive to Madison and makes things very difficult for her. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great read with some hot and steamy moments I highly suggest this series. I can’t wait to read more.

I loved this book and will now be reading from book 1, as this is book 5. It can bw read as a standalone, but I just want to know more about this group! Brett was so great but the poor guy gets friend zoned, often from what it seems like. And when he meets the perfect girl at a baseball game, they hit it off, until she says who she is there for. Can he get out of the friend zone? Liv is a tell it like it is, feisty woman. I really loved getting to know her and the crazy of her life. These two were great with a great group of friends along the way too!

I loved this book! The format of this book is a little different but I loved it! This is a dark, twisted story about Evangeline becoming addicted to something she wants but may not be good for her, Landon. Her problem is that she just may lose everything that she cares for. Will she pay the high price to have what she wants? This story pulled me in right from the beginning. I couldn’t put it down until the last page. I felt as if I was right there with them. Their story is a must read!

This is a romantic comedy that had me laughing throughout the story. This is a fun story about Libby. She is a junior manager at a hotel and loves shoes. When a theft happens, she thinks she knows who did it but problem is the hunky Detective Harper doesn’t necessary believe her theory. The rest you will have to read yourself but I will say, the twists and turns will keep you turning pages. Great characters that pull you into the story, make you feel part of it. I highly recommend this book.

Surviving The Storm is the second book in Virginia Wine’s Surviving series. I had devoured and loved the first book, Surviving Eden, and was excited about reading the second instalment in the series. I’m very pleased to add that I was not disappointed at all by Surviving The Storm. I would definitely suggest that you read the books in order as there are recurring characters and the storyline continues. We were introduced to Alex and Madison in the first book and from the snippet that we had of the two of them together, I couldn’t wait to see what the author had in store for these two and boy was it a great read. This book has it all. Off the charts chemistry, great sex, suspense, great characters, action packed and a crazy ex determined to ruin everything. This book will take you on a fantastic journey with so many ups and downs, and twists and turns that you just don’t know what’s coming next. I also loved that we got to see what Theo and Eden, from book 1, got up to. Yet again the author brings in new characters and gives you a little taste of what might be coming in the next book. I’m just so glad that I already have book 3 on my kindle just waiting for me to dive in and see what Virginia Wine has in store for these characters I’ve grown to love.

Oh My Goodness I love this series, my only negative about this series right now is that there isn’t another one I can jump right in to! LOL
I love the whole MC being completely different than I’ve ever read and I’ve said it before, Ill always love my MC books but this one is such a refreshing change in how an MC runs.
There is a lot going on in this story and a lot of people and normally this would get confusing but this author has a way of it all making sense and i never got confused. I loved Winter and Eagle and I was literally feeling the same emotions that were being written and that is what makes books work for me the most is the writing turning all these emotions into reality. I sincerely love this author and even though there’s an answer I have to wait for the next book to receive Im ok with that because it was just that good!
You truly must read the first book before starting this one so that you get the full effect of this cast of characters.

The one thing I love about anthologies is being introduced to authors I’ve never read before and falling in love with their stories PLUS we all can use a hunky hero! Many of these authors were new to me and I will be searching out other books they have written.
They all gave me the perfect holiday read but I loved Allyson R Abbott and Tamara Ferguson stories the best. They have a way of sucking you into their stories and falling in love with their characters. I loved all the stories but these were the two that stuck out the most for me.
Highly recommend this anthology that have all sorts of hunky hero’s and beautiful HEAs.

The story Best Foot Forward (The Liberty Lawrence Series Book 1) by Bea Stevens is an awesome book that I loved reading. One of the reasons I loved it so much is the character of Liberty “Libby” Lawrence. She is a woman who has a high energy level and loves designer shoes. She is someone I would like to go shopping with. She has an eye for detail and that may be why she finds herself with a theory as to who the thief is at the hotel where she works. Now all she has to do is convince Detective Sergeant James Harper, the handsome policeman that she is right. Liberty seems to be falling for James a little more each time that they meet. Is Liberty right about who she suspects the thief to be? Will anything happen between Liberty and James? What does the future hold for Liberty? Read this book to find out. This story had me with a smile on my face and at times laughing out loud. My emotions went up and down with Liberty’s and I found myself caring about her with every chapter that I read. There are times when I wanted to give her a hug and others when I wondered what she was going to do next. There are other secondary characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about many of them and their interactions with Liberty. This is a book that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until the final page. It is a story I would recommend reading.

The story A Tendency Dark and Dangerous by Emmalyn Danvers is a book that is quite interesting as it is told in free-verse. It is a story that includes powerful, raw, and dark emotions. It drew me in and I found myself not able to put it down until I had read the last page. Reading about the character of Evangeline I couldn’t help but notice that she is someone who doesn’t make waves, she sticks to what is safe. When she meets Landon Kelly, he has an effect on her. She is soon unable to focus on anything else. What does the future hold for Evangeline? What effect will the choices she makes have on her life and those she cares about? Read this book to find out. This story includes seductive language and dialogue. It also has steamy scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. It had my emotions going up and down. The story had a smooth flow to it and was enjoyable to read.

The Memory of Us by Lisa Sorbe is a five star novel. I loved this novel about love, friendship, confusion and loss. Laney was a girl who had lost so much as a young teenager. Her father and brother are just two prime examples of the loss she has experienced. Many years later, when her mom dies, she ends up in her small hometown again and realizes the only love she has had, aside from her family, still lives next door. When she left after high school, she thought it was only right to let him go because she had dreams of leaving her miserable life behind and find herself again in the big city. Even her mom was a different person when she came to visit, away from the dark cloud of loss at home. Arizona Elena is trying to figure out now who she is compared to the Minnesota Laney she left behind. Hopefully she will be able to find herself as who she really is and not who she thinks people expect her to be in either of those places.

The Shape of Trust by Brinda Berry is a standalone book in her Stand By Me series. It is a romantic story where both characters have hugely complicated and difficult lives. Both need help, and are reluctant to ask for it until they are sure if they can trust each other. Webb is a recovering drug addict and successful investor. His life is turned upside down when he discovers he has a young daughter who needs someone to look after her while her mum is in rehab. With no idea how to take care of a child, he turns to an employee, Lily, who is good with kids and could do with the extra work. Lily’s experience with children comes from more or less raising her siblings whilst putting up with neglect from her mother and addict brother. As you might expect, the book is full of twists and turns. Webb and Lily have a lot to deal with, and need to learn to trust each other and ask for help. They also need to work out whether to fight or embrace the strong feelings they have for each other. There are some great child characters in this story. I particularly liked Erin, Lily’s sister, who is cunning and observant. I also liked Julieann with her ridiculous vocabulary. It is good to see in the story how Webb and Lily always put the children they take care of first, and are unconditionally loving of them. This was an enjoyable read! Tense at times, but ultimately heart-warming. I give it five stars, and would recommend it if you enjoy romances with complicated families.

Surviving Jordan is book 3 in the Surviving series. Ben and Jordan have had feelings for each other for years, but never acted on it. Steel is a man who can get things done, protects those he loves and does what is needed. In book 2, Steel saved Jordan from Graham. In this book, they begin spending time together even though Jordan still has feelings for Ben. When danger comes knocking on Steel’s door, he pushes Jordan away. Will Ben be ready to act on his feelings? What is the danger that is knocking at Steel’s door? This book does a good job at including the main characters from the other books. I would have liked a little less focus on Ben and Jordan and more of the story with Steel’s situation. Other wise it was a good story.

The Memory of Us by Lisa Sorbe is the story of Elena. She has come back home after her mother’s death and has to deal with the aftermath. The one person she does not want to see is Weston and back into her life he comes. Can she stand strong in all her grief and the past coming back to her? This story is very emotional and powerful. Going back home to the life you left behind is hard but even harder with the death of a parent. Elena is a complex character. She is strong but can be weak at the same time. Weston is wonderfully written also. There are ups and downs and decisions that have to be made. The emotions are powerful and kept me reading to see where Elena would end up. This was a good read and overall I enjoyed it.

Wish Upon a Bollywood Star by Pamela Q. Fernandes was for me a okay read, and that was at times, a little all over the place.
My first read by this author, I was pulled in by the beautiful cover and intriguing synopsis. I have to say, I’m mixed about this book. So let’s just jumped into it, shall we.
First things first, I like drama, who doesn’t. But this book, has, for me, just as many good dramatic moments as it did, not so good dramatic moments. There is one major thing I have to say, the constant fighting, the constant unrealistic way that Soumya handle the situation from the start, was, for me, baffling. I have read books like this before, and frankly, this one was a little rough around the edges and to be bluntly honest, for a short read, I had a time fully getting into this book. Most of that I believe was actually, Soumya’s doing. I didn’t really like her, and as much as she grew on me, it wasn’t enough to carry the story, and fully bring out its’ full potential. Vir, as much as I hate to say this, was the star of this book. I found that he had the most character development, and growth, even with his jerkish moments.
Now as I said, things weren’t all bad. This book got some pretty good zingers, and the one thing I did like about Soumya was the way she stood up for herself. Strong and defiant. I loved the cultural background and I learn a lot. You can tell the author loves writing about her culture, through the care and detail that was constantly present in this book. The timeline was steady, and when I was fully engaged, I enjoyed myself, and at times was smiling and rolling my eyes at their antics. I would have like this book to have had more than one narrator, mainly Vir, since it was third person, that could have been easily done. I feel like that added POV switch would have added a much needed layer, and understanding to their unique situation.
Overall I did enjoy this book, even with my mixed feelings. But reading is subjective so please take my recommendation that just because I found some things that didn’t work, doesn’t mean it won’t for you. Give this book a chance, cause you never know.

Paladin’s Hell by Manda Mellett, Satan’s Devils Colorado Chapter Book 1

Jayden was rescued from a group of violent men who were abusing her in many different ways. Paladin along with his MC Brothers were the rescuers. Now the Harreras are trying to find a way to bring her back. Paladin who has always had a soft spot for her and loves her despite their age difference refuses to let that happen. He will stop at nothing to keep her safe even if that involves relocating to a different state and transferring to another Motor Cycle Club. Hellfire and his wife Moria are preparing to take her in. They are the only MC group that has raised a family. Moria also has a history similar to what Jayden when through. The two ended up being amazing characters as well as Jayden and Paladin. I loved that this story could be read as a stand alone since it is the first book by this author I have read. It does mention characters from the other books which the author lists in the novel. I felt like the storyline was easy to read and I also loved how family focused the MC groups seemed to be. Great read!
The Way You Are (Carolina Connections Book 5) by Sylvie Stewart 4 out of 5 stars
This book is about friends, love, baseball and the love of baseball, and I loved every minute of it. Poor, sweet Brett has found himself Mayor of Friendzone on more than one occasion. But when he meets the passionate and fiery Liv, he is willing to do anything to make a permanent move out of that territory and into boyfriend land. To bad that position is already filled by a baseball playing He-Man who could easily crush Brett.
Liv tells herself that she can have Brett as a friend. I mean really, women and men can be friends and nothing come of it. At least, that is what she keeps telling herself, until she develops a crush on Brett and is not sure what do about his persistent nature.
The quick and witty banter between these two was adorable. The situations the found themselves in was equally hilarious, and the dual POV was refreshing to be continuously placed in the frame of mind of each character. I highly recommend this book.

This is the third book in the “Surving Series”. I’ve read each one in order and I think it would be difficult to follow if you weren’t aware of the continuing threads.
SURVIVING JORDAN gives us a few answers to questions that developed in the first two books. PHEW!!! I still have a few questions but am hoping that Steel gets his own story and everything becomes clear.
SURVIVING JORDAN is more suspense than romance. There is lots of action that propels one to quickly turn the pages to find out what is going to happen next. It kept me engaged in the story, even at times when it seemed to be “too much”.
SURVIVING JORDAN features some fantastically strong women who can definitely kick some butt. The men and wen are written in equal strength and the story was an enjoyable read.

This is an amazing collection of short stories that leave you with all kinds of emotions. I love collections like this because they are a great way of finding new authors. And couple of the stories really stuck with me. Foxxy Christmas is a great story about an escort. It’s a story that grabbed my attention from page one. It has some twists and turns. It’s not my typical go to read but I really enjoyed it and look forward to more from this author.
A Kiss Under A Blue Christmas Moon is about second chances and is a sweet read. It’s everything you want in a Christmas romance story and captures your heart.
If you’re looking for a great collection of stories and find new authors pick this set. I’m giving this collection a five star review and highly recommend it.

Paladin as a prospect has no say. But he knows he loves Jayden. Being older than her he must wait to find out what Jayden wants. Moving to another state to protect Jayden has its challenges. The Satan’s Devils have always been his family. But he wants the girl! Does she want him?
Manda Mellett has done it again! I love this series. So many members and their partners. Wonderful characters, wonderful love stories as well as a rollercoaster of suspense. Paladin’s Hell will not disappoint. Take the ride and enjoy the story as I did. Now I’m hoping for another in the series.
I’ve been hooked on Lisa Sorbe’s writing since the first page of the first book in her Prairie Tales series. Needless to say when I saw a book I haven’t read written by her I pounced without giving it a second thought.
The Memory of Us has everything I have come to love in Lisa Sorbe’s writing. The story itself is emotional without becoming too overpowering, it is real and raw. Elena is a strong, admirable character that makes the story unforgettable.
The Memory of Us was a book that hooked me from the start and kept my interest to the very last line. I am looking forward to more to come from Lisa Sorbe. This is definitely another 5 star read I would highly recommend to others.

The Memory of Us is the mind-blowing story of second chances by Lisa Sorbe! I have read EVERY SINGLE ONE of her books and I have to say that she gets better with every one! The opening scene sets the stage to a story that keeps you at the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end! The Memory of Us is the story of Elena Everhart and Weston Brooks. Elena always had a plan what she was going to do to achieve her dreams and she was following it … except for Weston … she had not counted for him and the feelings he evoked in her … their chemistry … their history … what a rollercoaster! They leave you raw and aching and you keep your fingers crossed that they will get their second chance! The writer excels at getting us into Elena’s head and showing us what goes on inside … they layers … she is so different from what she portrays outside! I loved that the writer uses only one voice when telling the story – Elena’s – it really helps us to feel the depth of her feelings and her grief! One of the things I really enjoy about anthologies is that typically the stories are short and sweet which allows me to pick up and put it down reading a few stories at a time.
The Heart of a Hero Anthology has some really fantastic stories in it, some from authors I’ve read before and others are new to me. This anthology contains an eclectic group of stories and I like the fact that some are complete stories with a beginning, middle and end while others are a ‘scene” out of a much more developed novel (or at least that is how it appears).
For Example:
A Kiss Under a Blue Christmas Moon by Tamra Ferguson is set in Crystal Rock which is a location for this author’s “Wounded Warrior” series. It’s like going home again to a cozy, safe space. Characters are like old friends and the holidays bring warmth and joy.
Foxxy Christmas by Allyson R Abbot is a quick read full of many layers. The way this author can write about a simple stare and put such movement into it is such a talent. This is a story with romance and suspense. It’s a complete story in a few pages and I NEED MORE.
In addition to “traditional” stories, there are tales of shifters and magic and “escorts”. A great mix of stories.

Player is the first book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I have to say, I hope I have the pleasure of reading many more. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. Evie is a school teacher by day and a high end escort at night. She is a very interesting character who feels she has to help the men she has dates with. When she meets Dylan, a professional poker player, things change for her. The book flows well and I enjoyed the writing style. I can’t wait to read what Ms. DuMond has instore for us in the next book in this series.
