Wow what an awesome start to a new series! I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked this book up but I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to reading more of the series. The author’s writing style was great, I was sucked in from page one and I couldn’t put it down. The characters were well developed and I felt like I was in Dahlia’s shoes as everything was happening. It was action packed and full of twist and turns! It didn’t end in a cliffhanger but there are hints that leave you wanting to read more. Go get this book now, because I would recommend it reading it asap.
Shadow’s Keep: A Novel by Meghan O’Flynn is a twisted and dark tale that Meghan is so good at writing. Shocking and chilling, thrilling and crazy town have a name and that it Meghan and her imagination. The vividness that is written is compelling and nightmare inducing but you can not stop this crazy ride, page after page is turned to find out what happens. Meghan cleverly infuses clues in her twists and turns that you don’t see until the explosive and shocking end, in fact you can never guess where the story is going so it certainly keeps you on your toes..
I recommend you read this book if you love a thriller that is dark and oh so twisted.
The Way You Are (Carolina Connections Book 5) by Sylvie Stewart is another remarkable story that is fun and captivating. It is a quick read that is an enthralling page turner and is told in several POV’s, which I love. It is a little quirky in its telling as is Sylvie’s way and her characters will find their way into your heart. The main characters are wonderfully cute as they dance around one another.
Brett is a gentleman who is sweet and adorable and every woman’s dream. Liv is a bad arse and far from shy, she loves what she does and those she is loyal to. Together they are hilarious and so so sexy mexy and hot, hot, hot, if only they can get on the same page.
This is an easy, light and fun read that absolutely needs to be on your read list.

The story A Suitable Affair (The Macalisters Book 1) by Erica Taylor is a historical romance book. This is a story that transports you to a time of society functions, formal balls, and rules of propriety. It is a book that hooked me in from the very beginning and I got lost in the pages. I enjoyed the plot/storyline and loved reading about the characters of Lady Susanna Macalister and Ian Carlisle, the Earl of Westcott. Susanna is a woman who shows strength, is intelligent, generous, and kind. She also is unmarried. I like the fact that Susanna is someone who while doesn’t disregard all of the rules of society, she is a woman who will push their limits. She lives in a time when scandal can ruin a life and just rumors can hurt a reputation. She finds herself being called on by a man that she doesn’t quite understand or have strong feelings for. Ian is a man whose past haunts him. He feels guilt over his sister’s death and his life seems to be surrounded in darkness. That is why he feels that he must save Susanna from the man that he holds responsible for his sister’s death. Susanna soon finds herself with feelings for Ian. He says that he has nothing to offer her. Is that really true? What does the future hold for Susanna and Ian? Read this book to find out. This is a story that I just couldn’t put down until I had finished it. I had to know how it ends. There is some mystery and times when you wonder how much danger some of the characters are in. I could feel the passion and desire growing between Susanna and Ian and there are some steamy moments between them. There is also flirting and bantering. I grew to care about Susanna and Ian and found myself wanting them to find happiness. Will they find a HEA? There are also other characters that I enjoyed reading about and the part that they play in the story. This is a story I never wanted to end.

Shadow’s Keep is a novel by Meghan O’Flynn. A first read for me by this author, so this story was like unwrapping a gift. A gift that just kept on giving. The blurb says it all. Desperation, obsession, protection, and much, much more.
William is a detective a little jaded. Things are happening and the evidence doesn’t add up. He is desperate to unravel this mystery, so the town can have closure and to bring an end to the violence and loss. Je has a mammoth task ahead. This hits him personally, as he must protect his girlfriend Cassie and her son. These characters had many layers that were begging to be unveiled. A mystery beckoning.
Shadow’s Keep is a super suspenseful and psychological mystery. It will keep a reader on the edge, bordering on terrified and paranoid, in a totally enthralling way. Fearfully perfect reading. Meghan O’Flynn is a talent that will mess with your mind and have you checking under the bed. 5 stars.
Shadow’s Keep: A Novel by Meghan O’Flynn is another fantastic thriller from this creative genius. I have relished every moment that I have spent exploring all her books, and this one is definitely one of my favourites. Ms. O’Flynn has a real knack for creating a story that not only is engrossing and completely holds your attention, but she is able to build gripping tension and heart-pounding suspense- and made me breathless with anticipation. Ms. O’Flynn has woven a compelling, creepy story- full of interconnected details, multiple layers, intrigue, danger, mystery, drama, thrills, and chills. She kept me guessing the whole way through. I devoured the book in one sitting, glued to the pages, desperately trying to figure out what was happening. I am not going to give anything away, or discuss aspects of the story, as I think the blurb does a better job of that than I could ever do, and without giving away any spoilers- but, I recommend going into the story somewhat ‘blind’ and let yourself get swept away by what you will find. The story definitely lived up to its promise of being dark and intense- with twists you definitely won’t see coming. Brilliant!

Full Glasses and Burju Shoes by Blake Blessing is such a beautiful story. I really didn’t expect to love it as much as I do. I had read and absolutely loved her fantasy story, ‘Marks of the Mazza’, so when I saw she had released a new book, I knew I had to read it. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, as this wasn’t a fantasy that I knew Ms. Blessing excelled at- it is more of a wounded warrior story, so I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this one as much. Well, even though this is different to her previous book, it is also good! Ms. Blessing has proven to be a great writer who can create a great read, no matter the genre. The characters are beautifully developed and fully realised individuals, with their own complex personalities, but they are also incredibly interesting and endearing as well. Highly Recommended Reading!!!

An Italian Adventure is the first book in The Italian Saga Series by Gaia B. Amman. The story is a fictionalized memoir of the author’s younger years, set against the backdrop of Italy in the 1980’s. It is so much more than I expected, and I loved reading this wonderful coming of age story full of friendship, bonds, love, dreams, adventure, discovery, hope, challenges, learning, and being true to yourself. The story turned out to be a delightful, fun adventure. There were touching moments that warmed my heart as did the wonderful character/s, who easily pulled me into the story and took me on An Italian Adventure. The entire package, from storyline, scene setting, and well-rounded characters was entirely believable and relatable. A lovely story that I am happy to recommend, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

Nite Fire: Flash Point is the first book in C. L. Schneider’s new series. It is a four star novel. Even though paranormal fantasy is not a normal genre for me to read, I still found this novel moved me and made me continue reading to find out what was going to happen next. The author was able to real me in with her excellent storytelling and realistic fiction. Have you ever wondered if there were “others” living among us? I know I have. Dahlias able to blend in with the humans because she is half human and half dragon. Although she was raised by the dragons, she has since flew the coup and has hidden herself among the humans on earth. She finds it necessary to try to disguise the “others” existence by having the humans see something else and cover up their crimes enough that they look like they could have been committed by a human. Only problem is that now it might be getting to be too much for her and the people looking for her are getting closer to bringing her back home. Review by @julie-lounello

I love reading and experiencing an author such as T. Birmingham. I enjoyed going into Written in the Stars and seeing where the writer took this story into. It was just as refreshing as I’d expected it to be. I loved the characters and how well they were developed. I loved seeing the relationships grow and get to where they needed to be. This was another definite 5 stars book for me!

So very impressed! Anyone can tell you that fantasy is so not my genre to read, but I was intrigued and now I’m very impressed. Nite Fire: Flash Point is book 1 in the series by C. L. Schneider. This book follows Dahlia Nite who is a shifter that worked for Queen Naalish in the world of Dimera. Dahlia is half human and half dragon. Queen Naalish strips her of title of Executioner and sentences her to be executed herself. Obviously, Dahlia is a fighter so she flees to the human world. There she travels from place to place where she doesn’t stay very long. Essentially, she fights what is lurking in the shadows to stay alive. She ends up back in the town that she continues to return to because it was the one place that she truly loved. Now she is helping the police to solve a crime. This book was pretty amazing in the sense that the author sucks you in from the beginning and keeps you there the entire book! Not only is the storyline great but so is the way that the author describes things. She makes you feel like you are truly a part of the story. I do recommend this book and actually cannot wait to read the second book in the series. This book is about a strong woman heroine and her ability to continue to fight. You will not be disappointed.

From the synopsis I knew this book would be one I would enjoy. Once I dove in, I found an unexpected emotiona depth as our heroine navigated personal and professional struggles. This was the first book I have read by this author and I found it to be an easy and enjoyable read. If you are looking for a heartwarming holiday story, this one is for you.
The Way You Are is the fifth book in The Carolina Connections series by Sylvie Stewart. This book can be read as a standalone, but I don’t have one reason why you would want to skip the first four. They are all excellent reads with all the feels, and this story is no exception. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I stayed up half the night finishing it (definitely worth losing sleep over). This book features Liz and Brett’s story. It is witty and sweet, heartwarming and heartbreaking at time. I’m totally drawn to these characters and Ms. Stewart really makes you feel like you are right there with them. I love it when a book makes me laugh out loud or reach for a tissue and this book fitthat requirement. Wow this book took me on a dark and thrilling adventure. This isn’t the first book I have read by this author so I knew this book would be good and it turned out to be great. The author does an amazing job bringing me into the story so much so that I couldn’t put the book down till I finished it. There is definitely an unexpected twist that you won’t see coming even if you think you have it figured out. As I’m reading I’m trying to figure out who the killer is and hoping nobody else gets hurt as if I’m really in this story, that’s how good this author weaves this awesome story. I loved every minute of reading this book and I think you will too. I highly recommend this story it is an amazing read.
The Shape of Trust : A Stand By Me Novel Book five written by Brinda Berry. The Shape Of Trust is a cute story about want, need and self control when you think something is wrong. Lilly is a cute yet seductive character, you don’t expect it from her at first and as the story goes on you see her coming out of her shell more boldly to get what she wants, Webb. Webb is a man with a past that he’s not proud of, he’s worked hard to get to where he is. And then a daughter is thrust into his life and changes everything. Reading as Lilly lusts after Webb and he denies any attraction because he thinks she’s too young and too innocent is entertaining because that’s what makes Lilly’s boldness come out. As the story progresses you see them both come out of their shell but will they ever make it past the friends and employee relationship.

A fun and magical read. Amy is working her way up in her chosen career and runs into a brat. She meets an amazing guy and thinks get crazy. I liked the story because it could really be anyone’s life. The authors writing style was a little choppy but it all worked out in the end. I dislike women who can only beat down other woman because they lack something themselves. We definitely need to start celebrating together instead of hating on each other. The story was cheesy and cute. I really liked the Christmas vibe and the thought that you can be happy alone. Even when you love someone you don’t have to always be with them.
I’m so confused. I don’t know if I should be scared or glad over how much I liked this story. This author gives me the chills with every story I read. The writing style was smooth and understandable. I never had to question what I was reading. I usually stay away from booms like this but this author draws me in every time. Every character was well written and played their parts really well. I’m in shock over how it all ended. I’ve always wanted to live in a small town but the more I read these stories I change my mind. The author has gotten the creepy factor down. The mystery of it all is well played. You will definitely be sitting with your mouth open over how the author wraps this story up. Reviewed by @gguerrero89
Nite Fire: Flash Point by C.L. Schneider 4 out of 5 Stars
This book is a huge match for its namesake. Flashpoint. This book moves at a fast pace and keeps you engaged as a reader. I loved this book from cover to cover. This is a supernatural shifter book and this author knows how to weave a very interesting story, with a lot of detail, a well developed plot and a ton of mysterious turns. Our main character, Dalia has found herself in an unknown place, away from her homeworld, and among humans. She left under extreme circumstances and there is no option to go back.
Lovers of Mystery, Supernatural, Shifter stories will love this story! I highly recommend this book!
Flash Point is Book 1 in the Nite Fire series. Extremely descriptive starting from page one. It’s about Dehlia Nite whom is a lyrriken. Lyrrikens are Shapeshifters transforming between human and dragon. Nite is an empath. She is a “traitor” in her own world and has lived in the human world for 97 years . She uses her ability to work at keeping the human world safe and seperate from the shape-shifters world. Often working with the police, she investigates cases involving possible lyrriken, and gives the human world a plausible explanation for what happened while covering up what actually happened. At the same time as investigating the actual why. This book has a lot of gore and blood. There’s a bit of foul language. Some nudity and some laughs. Just when you think it can’t get any crazier, enter the twists! This book was great from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read the second! 5 stars

Flash Point was an interesting 5 star read and book one in the Nite Fire series. This is a different genre for me and C.L. Schneider pulled me right in with her writing. The detail is amazing.
We start with Dahlia fleeing her homeland of Drimera due to a death sentence handed down on her. We jump ahead 100 years. She is a half-human/dragon who is has been hiding within the human realm avoiding the sentence that was given to her. She has been protecting those that have helped keep her safe.
When mysterious murders start happening, Dahlia knows who is responsible but doesn’t understand why. Dahlia starts to work on trying to solve the cases.
Will she be able to stop the murders? What will happen if her friends learn her secret?
There is so much that goes on, we get action, danger, suspense, and so much more. The secondary characters were great, we get some very interesting ones for sure. I really liked Dahlia and her strength and dedication to those she calls friends. We don’t end on a cliff hanger but we do get some leads into the next book in the series. If you’re looking for a great this is a series for you. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Perilous Confessions (The Possession Chronicles Book 1) by Carrie Dalby was an engaging, detail tale, full of raw emotions, ups downs, and of course love.
My first read by this author ,I was pulled in right from the first page and was hooked until the last. It’s been a long time since I have read such a pulling and captivating historical fiction. Rich with detail and a multi layered plot, this book was not only well balance it was as close to perfection as one could get.
This was just the book I needed to refresh my reading pallet. With all the contemporary romances I have been reading, I was starting to get irked by the littlest of things, a good sign that a change was in order. This book not only washed away that cloud of unease, it made me fall back in love with romance. I was so engaged with this tale that when it was over I felt a little sad, that I had to leave these wonderful multi layer, complex characters behind. I felt so connected to them, close, like a friend, like I was with them every step of the way, (even if they didn’t listen to a thing I said… god people these days.) The smooth writing and seamless transitions, ensured I was kept in the story, making sure that my mind had no chance to wander. That level of talent is something else, and I will be definitely adding this author to my watch list.
Overall if you haven’t guessed, I give this book my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

This was an exciting, romantic, and funny second book in this series. It can be read as a stand alone but there is backstory on some of the characters in the first book that is not in this novel. I really enjoyed Eagle aka Davis and his role in this novel. He had more than meets the eye and actually showed more of a soft side when it came to Winter. She was amazing though and absolutely my favorite person in this novel. She embraced her curvy body and had a spitfire personality just like her sisters. I also liked the crime portion thrown into the storyline. It seemed to help it move along giving the romance a bit more excitement. Great novel!

Written in the Stars by T Birmingham was a great 5 star read for me. I was a bit skeptical after reading book 1 Terrible Beauty. This book totally changed it around for me.
Winter is one of the 4 Markham sisters all names after seasons. We were introduced to the characters briefly in a Terrible Beauty and they are back and brought their A game in Written in the Stars.
Winter is the quite loner of the group. She knows everyone, they all know her but she doesn’t really talk to them. She has had a secret crush on Eagle for 3 years since she first laid eyes on him. She’s the shy type who has never acted on it. When she finally gets the nerve to ask him to coffee, will he accept the offer or decline? Will their friendship turn into anything more? There is a serial killer on the loose and Eagle and his team are helping try to find who it is and keep their city safe. When more murders are committed missing some important factors, they think they may have a copycat on the loose which is making it that much harder to find the person / people. Many people Winter and her friends know are brought in as suspects but it seems everyone has an Alibi or was out of town when the murders took place. This book kept me interested and on the edge of my seat. I never thought the person they caught would’ve been the one involved. The reasons behind the murders was a little disturbing to me as well.

Nite Fire: Flash Point by C. L. Schneider Stars: 4
This story is from Dahlia Nite’s perspective. Dahlia feels so much and is trying to protect humanity. She is strong and still finding her way in this world. I really liked her as a character! I feel that C.L. Schneider gave us a lot of information in this first book in the Nite Fire. Although I really enjoyed this story, I did feel that parts of it dragged for me, but luckily would pick up after a few pages. After reading this book, I cannot wait to see the next adventure of Dahlia!

Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley is the third book in the Gray Ghost series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the other books in the series. This story follows the characters Hannah Miller and Jack Davis. This story is action packed with mystery and suspense. I really enjoyed reading it and was disappointed when I got to the end. The characters are interesting and the women are strong. I liked the story with romance and suspense thrown in. I really look forward to reading more from Amy McKinley in the future.
Pamela DuMond’s Player is the first book in the 21st Century Courtesan series. This new adult/college romance that has been set as a stage for a potentially epic series. Evie is unforgettable. She is such a strong and capable character as more and more of her character is unearthed through the story. The paths she’s to embark will lead on a journey and as a reader, you question where exactly the author is going to drive her. Dylan’s character was exquisitely written, you could feel the emotions, thoughts, feelings rolling off his character with the details that are added. Pamela DuMond has a remarkable writing talent that shines in this novel, to such an extent that I cannot wait to read the subsequent books within the series.

The Way You Are, by Sylvie Stewart, is the fifth book in the Carolina Connections series. This new adult/college romance was a fun and enjoyable read. Liv and Brett were hilarious in their interactions, friendships and overall beings – it was hard not to find these two characters unforgettable. A great addition to the series, The Way You Are, fit perfectly with Liv and Brett’s personalities. The camaraderie between friends was a riot and some of the hi-jinks were outrageous. However, there were serious points/parts within the story and the author over laid those with the humor perfectly. Sylvie Stewart knows how to deliver an exciting and pleasing story!
