This is the first book that I have read by this author and overall I really liked the story and her writing style. I liked that the characters in the story had to grow on me, yes it’s nice where you fall in love with a character straight away or have that instant connection but I do also like it when you have to work hard to get to know a character and I definitely had to do that with Michael. Whilst sometimes the story lacked a little detail then characters and their chemistry was fantastic! I loved the connection they had, although they may have frustrated me at times I still found I was fully invested in their story. I would definitely like to read more by this author in the future and think that His First Lady is a solid 4 star read!

His First Lady is by Avery Scott. I loved this book and read it in one setting. It’s the story of Kendall Bailey, a speech writer for Presidential Candidate Michael Reese. She is beautiful, successful and single which fits right into Michael’s campaign managers plan. He insists Michael needs to be in a relationship to be a successful candidate so he talks Kendall in to a fake relationship. Michael is a playboy because of he has been divorced twice and burned badly. He has decided no one will ever really love him so he just decided he’s not the relationship kind of guy. It’s hard to have one night stands though on a campaign trail. Kendall fits the fake fiance bill perfectly but can she fake this relationship without having real feelings. Will Michael open himself up to love and a relationship again? Once they cross a line can they go back to being fake fiances? Read His First Lady to find out!

The Light Of Dawn by K.L. Montgomery is the first book I have read by this author. The Light at Dawn is a great read but you will need a box of tissue. In this book you will go through a bunch of emotions. The main characters are relatable and you can honestly feel what they are going through. This book also touches on some hard subjects but makes you see both sides, it is not a one sided read. I would recommend this book to everyone. It’s a book you must add to your TBR Pile. I look forward to reading more books by K.L. Montgomery.

Yearning Young (Burning Britely Book 2) By: Deidre Huesmann 5 out of 5 stars
The story Yearning Young (Burning Britely Book 2) by Deidre Huesmann is a book that I enjoyed reading. It is a story that includes powerful and raw emotions. My emotions were going up and down the entire time. I enjoyed reading it just as much as the first book in the series. The story is told from Braeden’s POV. Braeden is a character that I could empathize and sympathize with. He is at times confused with his feelings, angry, upset, and feels guilt. Braeden is a character that I grew to care about in the first book and this story will have you wanting him to find happiness. He is a young man who has had to grow up fast. He is also protective of those he cares for. He has parents that are not the best role models. This story also has his connection with Jeff Young growing deeper. These two have an attraction to each other. Always believing that he was straight Braeden is not sure what is supposed to come next in his relationship with Jeff. What happens next in their relationship? What does the future hold for Braeden? Read this book to find out. There are intense scenes and dialogue in this story. My heart went out to Braeden and there are times when you just wish you could solve all of his problems. This is a book that once I started, I didn’t want to put down. I got lost in the story. I also enjoyed reading about Jeff. He is a young man who while he was bullied and beaten in the past, is now showing more confidence. There are other characters that you read about. Some of them have been brought forward from the first book and others you are introduced to. Some of them are manipulative and others are friendly to Braeden. This story deals with issues that are heartbreaking. Don’t miss out on the continuing story of Braeden and Jeff. I highly recommend reading it.

Eight Steps by Taylor Sullivan is not a difficult book to predict. You know how it’s going to end (that’s one reason why I picked it) but that doesn’t ruin the joy of the journey. It’s books like this that make me remember why the romance genre is much needed in my world. I love to sit back and escape my life for a little while and this book helped me accomplish that easily. I was swept away by the easy flow of the writing, the story line that made me smile more times than I ever could have imagined and the characters, Elliot and Fe who actually made me cry a little. Being somewhat of a nerd myself, I could relate to these two and I appreciated that. This book is perfect if you want to recharge for a bit, if you want to change genres for a while or are just looking for something to brighten up your day.

The story His First Lady by Avery Scott is a wonderful romance book the I loved reading. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Kendall Bailey and Michael Reese. Kendall is a woman who writes speeches for Michael as he campaigns to become President. She is smart, independent, beautiful, and good at her job. She is not one to get tangled up in relationships. She is surprised when she is asked to play the part of a potential First Lady for Michael. Michael is a man that is very handsome, charming, charismatic, and single. His campaign manager believes that the bachelor playboy that Michael is will not go over well. Michael is a man whose life and two divorces have shown him that he would rather be single. Then he gets to know Kendall. These two have a definite physical attraction to each other. They can’t seem to get each other out of their minds. Is there more that is going on between them than just a part that each are playing? Is it possible that they could be falling for each other? Will Michael open up his heart to Kendall? What does the future hold for both Michael and Kendall? Read this book to find out. This story has witty and flirty bantering. It has romantic and steamy scenes. There are parts that will make you swoon. There are also additional characters that are introduced, and I enjoyed reading about their part in the book. You can’t help but want Michael and Kendall to find happiness. It is a story that I would highly recommend reading.

This is a wonderful story! I loved it! I felt like I was on ups and downs throughout reading. I could hardly put it down and when I did?? I just ended up thinking about it all day! I liked the whole idea of this book. Michael is running for President alone. His campaign manager feels a “First Lady” will make him look better to pollers. What happens when feelings get involved and then change? How far will this go?
The characters in here are so large and compelling I didn’t even realize there are only a few in the book. Each one is amazing and wonderful (well Tom…is annoying) but when meshed together they flow so nicely to tell a story. Where I had hopes and dreams right along with them. I hoped for the couple and for the Election. I dreamt of Tom getting a smack down (hahaha) but in reality he is perfect for a campaign manager.
This is my first book by this author. I enjoy her writing style and I was immediately engaged with the story. Everything flowed nicely and I look forward to reading more from her.

Blade’s Edge is a part of a series called Satan’s Devil by Manda Mellett. I found myself reading this book and loving the story of Blade and Tasha. Blade is a big strong guy but inside he is hurting from his past. In the same situation is Tasha, as she is having issues from her past. There are all kinds of relationship issues between them. It is hard to have any kind of relationship when there is trust, commitment, and secrets. Can you really run away from the past? Is it hard to gain someone’s trust when there are secrets? That is some of the questions that will be answered in this story.

Eight Steps is a quirky, funny friends to lovers story which definitely deserves 5 stars in my opinion. This book had me hooked from the very beginning and I laughed so much when reading it. Best friends and room-mates Elliot Prescott and Fe Porto are both super nerdy and have a friendship that everyone would be jealous of. When Elliot confesses that he likes a woman at work who doesn’t notice him, Fe comes up with a plan to turn him into a hot alpha male in 4 weeks – An eight step plan. Reading the antics of Fe trying to turn, super sweet but super nerdy Elliot into an alpha male will have you in stitches. Not giving any spoilers but I will say that the dressing room scene when she tries to update his wardrobe is hilarious. The story flows really well and you will fall more and more in love with these two as the book progresses. There is also a great deal of angst as Elliot and Fe start to see each other in a different light as the plan unfolds. This just makes the story more enjoyable. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.

This is one of those MC series that has quickly made it to the top of my list! I’ve become completely obsessed with this series. Each book gets better and better!
This story was definitely intense but none the less un-putdown-able. Noah and Kady have been sweethearts since they were in the 6th grade. As adults they were ready to get married and spend their life together but unfortunately Noah took the fall of a run he did with the MC that put him in prison for 7 very long years. During those years he never heard from Kady. Now he’s out and is on the hunt to find her but he was not expecting to see the hell she’s been through!
Each and every one of these books are such beautifully written. The stories are beautiful and unique. The series is the perfect binge read!

Eight Steps by Taylor Sullivan is my first book that I have read by Taylor Sullivan and I was not disappointed. Eight steps is a friendship that turns into a love story between two friends Elliot and Fe Porto. Elliot and Fe have been friends and roommates for years. Fe only has a few weeks to turn Elliot into this hot macho guy and has these eight steps for him to follow to make him this way. Along this journey they learn more about each other and fall in love. This book will keep you hooked and you will not be disappointed. Elliot is such an awesome guy we all hope to fall for and Fe is your girl next door, best friend. The characters in this book were relatable and really fun to read about. I would love to read more about this duo. I will definitely read more books by Taylor Sullivan. This book is a must to add to your TBR Pile 🙂

Luke: The McKades of Texas, Book 3 by Kimberly Lewis
Audible
5 Stars
This is my first book by this author and I absolutely loved it!! I had no problem with this as a standalone but do want to go back and read Zane and Norah’s stories because I enjoyed this one so much. I love cowboy stories and this one was perfect. I fell in love with the characters..All of them…I loved the interaction between them all and Karlie’s spunk was awesome.
I listened to this in one sitting while working through the day, because it flowed so perfectly and although it was somewhat predictable I don’t even care, I loved everything about it. I was so angry a few times at Luke but then he did something that will go down as one of my favorite scenes ever, I had big old alligator tears rolling down my cheeks and I felt like I was right there watching it all play out. This could be a movie, there’s no doubt about it and I can not wait to go back and read the first two, as well as check out what else this author has available.
This was my first full Audible book and listening to it was awesome and the Narrator did an amazing job and I would love to have her come in and read all my books to me 🙂
This was awesome and I highly recommend it, it just has that feel good vibe and I just know I’ll read this whole series again and again.

I give The Case of Missing Books (Summer McCloud paranormal mystery Book 6) by Nikki Broadwell, 5 stars.
Summer and her husband, who recently quit his job as a police officer, decided to open up their own private eye company. But business has been slow. When she is approached to solve a case of some missing books, she is intrigued. But it turns into so much more — murders, mystery, and the magical world all seem to play role in this case. What about Summer’s own shop? Not to mention, why is her husband acting weird? Can she solve this case or is she in over her head?
Ok, this book is a mystery involving books and the supernatural — that got my interest right there. This is the first book I’ve read in the series, so other than that, I had no idea what to expect. The story is wonderful and unique. It involves things I can’t say I’ve seen in books before. Plus there is plenty going on and it will keep you guessing until the end. Summer is a great main character too. I have to admit, her husband annoyed the heck out of me in the beginning, but trust me, there are reasons. And did I mention Summer has two cats and a dog? Such a plus!
This was a great paranormal mystery book that I highly recommended to others and cannot wait to read more of the series.

What an amazing read! I still have goose bumps after finishing it! When I first read the blurb for this book I thought it sounded good and Toni Anderson is a new to me author so I thought I would give it ago – I am so, so glad that I did! I was hooked from the very first page! It was a brilliant mix of romance and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat and also turning the pages just to see what was going to happen next! Mallory was a great female lead and I could feel the passion she had for her job, she was determined to find out what happened to her twin sister. I was rooting for her the whole way through to finally get the answers she wanted. Alex was a really intriguing character and I loved reading about him – there was chemistry between him and Mallory that was quite evident. I really loved the mystery surrounding him although I was worried he would end up hurting Mallory – this is one of the things that kept me turning the pages as I wanted to find out what would happen with them. A Cold Dark Place was a fantastic 5 star romantic suspense novel that I highly recommend!

The Devil’s Shadow (Wild Beasts Series Book 4) by T. Birmingham
5 Stars
I could not wait to get my hands on this book, I love this series there’s no doubt about that but I absolutely love this author, I have read many of her other books outside of this series and she is an absolute must read, one click kind of author.
I don’t normally fall in love with this genre, but I sincerely have, I love all of these characters and the storylines throughout are fantastic. Each book has its own story following a main couple but all of the characters intertwine and there are ongoing stories through the whole series. Something big is happening, you can just feel it while reading and I can not wait to get my hands on the next in this amazingly awesome series.
This author has a style that is unmatched, you start reading and then just cant put it down, you want to just stay in this world she has created.
As much as I don’t want this series to end I also can’t wait to put them all back to back and take a whole weekend to read them all over again.

I was really looking forward to seeing how Connor was coping in the second installment to Flowers in December – book 1 was very emotional following Connor and his grief over losing his mother and again his emotions flowed through this story but in a different way. This story was more about him making his peace with everything and moving on with his life. I loved seeing Mary-Ann back in his life and also some other secondary characters. We got snippets into a few of the other characters too which was nice. Although the story didn’t end up as I thought and maybe wanted I still enjoyed reading about Connor again. I would definitely recommend reading book 1 before this one to fully understand everything Connor went through. Another great read from Jane Suen, I look forward to more from her again in the future.

Claimed is book three in the Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. It is the stunning conclusion of Brian and Jenny’s emotional, suspenseful and thrilling journey. It has been a long and arduous journey, fraught with danger, tension, intrigue and love. Their love was hard fought and questioned by them many times throughout this saga. I was not convinced their tale would end happily. I was praying they got their HEA together. They deserved their happy ending, and I fought along side of them right until the end. This author gives a descriptive and deeply emotional description of a love story. I felt frustrated with both characters at times, venting to no-one, and hoping that they could get it together. My heart was full with mixed feelings. I wanted to read like it was my last book, but at the same time desperately tried to slow down to draw out the bittersweet intensity that followed this couple everywhere. The secondary characters were amazing and the story continued effortlessly along, blending the new with the old. It was incredible to read the Torzial Affair books, and it was an experience I will never forget and will cherish always. 5 stars.

Ella a.k.a Miss Apple Pants is back in another charming story. But instead of losing everything she owns to a U-Haul truck, she’s about to lose her heart.
A lot has happened since we left Ella lost in Seattle. She’s become a mature woman and loves being a ‘timeshare mother’ with her hippie parents. Life is good. Hans is part of the past, that is until Alfred suddenly utters the word “dad” … And when Frank announces they are going to Europe for the summer, Ella finds herself split in two. Should she go find him? And is she still in love with him. Or is she, in fact, in love with someone else?
A warm-hearted and humorous romance/family drama, Lost in Love, is a celebration of family, friendship, and finding love when and where you least expect it.
“If you love a fast-paced story, with snappy dialogue and lots of humor, heart and girly feelings, this is the book for you.”
Charlotte is a mom, a wife, and an author—in that order. She’s originally from Denmark but moved to Seattle in 2005 with her husband, baby Alfred, and lots of hopes and dreams. The family has since added the twincesses, Emma and Olivia.
When she’s not ‘mom’ (read= doing laundry, making lunches, and solving kids’ world crisis), she spends every second of her free time writing what readers call compelling, fun, and loving stories. Her fiction is often inspired by real life and at times highly personal. Her novels are filled with endearingly flawed (mostly female) characters and emotional complexity. You are what you write. You write what you are.

Then he met Jeffrey Young. Quiet, studious, analytical … a guy.

If he’s protecting his siblings out of selfless motivations. If he belongs with Jeff, now his boyfriend. Jeff’s less-than-straight friends are skeptical of his sexuality as well, which isn’t assuaging any of Braeden’s fears.
As his connection to Jeff deepens quicker than expected, Braeden has to face the question he’s been avoiding for weeks: what is he supposed to do with a guy?

Romance author Brooke May spends her days writing whatever her overactive imagination has brewed up and her evenings reading while she works alongside her mom. Telling stories is second natural to her, from a young age she has told anyone who would listen what she had thought up. Now, a mom of two, she splits her time writing, playing with her kids, and of course, hiking, hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling in her beloved Bighorn Mountains.
While on maternity leave with her youngest, Brooke was putting laundry away when she looked at a poem she had written in high school that was framed in her son’s bedroom. That poem triggered the idea of My Cowboy and soon she was sitting in front of her computer with her infant next to her writing her first love story that wasn’t a fanfiction.

Coming Home is the sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen. We meet back up with Connor, four months after the end of the first book. He has ‘come home’ for the holidays as a way of honouring his mother and his/their memories. This story is a continuation of the first book, with Connor still coming to terms with his mother’s passing, the grieving process, self-realization, forgiveness, finding a way to move forward, mending bridges, hope, love, and emotion- that happens over the course of the story. I loved it even more than the first book. I really recommend reading the first book before starting on this one, as all the backstory and other relevant information is contained in that book. Ms. Suen had me hooked quite quickly and engaged me the whole way through. It is a short story, and I finished it quite quickly- but as with the first book, the author infused so much emotional content into the story- it has stayed on my mind long after finishing it. I wonder what Ms. Suen has up her sleeve for us next. She certainly likes to surprise us!

The Slip Series Collection is by Gwyn McNamee. Let me just start by saying these stories are hilarious, they each have their own special incident and they pull you in right away. You will recognize the characters as you go since they are present in the previous stories to some degree. Have you ever had that dream where you are naked in front of a crowd and completely humiliated? Yeah that’s what these three stories are about, that one moment that makes you so embarrassed but you have to move forward. No matter how much your friends, family, and everyone that witnessed it on TV makes fun of you
There Be Demons (Andor Demon Wars Book 1) is by M.K. Theodoratus. This story is a well written young adult story with plenty of of action and adventure with characters that are as equally well written as the storyline. While I didn’t immediately feel myself drawn into it, it had a slower build but that didn’t deter me from continuing and once it picked up a bit I couldn’t wait to read it all. The storyline is well detailed and it has great world building. I do highly recommend this to those who like young adult and fantasy stories. Each character brings something unique to this story. I’m giving this book a four star review and recommend it. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next.

Coming Home by Jane Suen is the sequel to Flowers in December. While I have read a lot of books and generally love Suen’s work, this was not one of my favorites. I think mostly because it didn’t end the way I wanted it to. I kept expecting, and hoping for 2 things to happen, that didn’t. I can’t say what, as it is a spoiler, but just be warned, don’t get your hopes up for a sappy romantic ending. I love the part of the story regarding Alana and her mother, but Mary Ann’s story didn’t end as expected. But, anyone who has read any of the author’s books knows that’s normal. She always seems to put a twist in at the end which I sometimes love and sometimes want to scream, in a true page turner fashion. The story follows Connor Norton, after he and his cat, Tom, return to his childhood home. In the previous book, his mother passed away, and he is still grieving. He has to make some decisions about the next steps for his life, and rekindles some friendships along the way. I recommend the book, but it must be read after Flowers in December. I highly recommend you check out Jane Suen’s other works as well. They are all quick easy reads.

Broken Sand Dollar (The Sand Dollar Series Book 3) by J D Boudreaux 4 out of 5 Stars
This book is an amazing addition to the sand dollar series. Do yourself a huge favor and read the first two books. You will get a lot of those books that will build into the anticipation for this book. Alex was a very beloved character of mine and I was so hopeful for his story to continue. You become invested in the lives of these characters and are genuinely concerned for their health and well-being. Having said that, Alex is a man who is fixing himself. His past relationships have not gone well. He feels that he needs to save everyone and as you can imagine that is emotionally and physically draining. After all of the mishaps with his relationships, he moves back to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. The place he calls home. The dialogue in this story is witty and sharp. The characters are on point and the back and forth is both hilarious and quick witted. This book is such an emotional roller coaster that you are left breathless yet excited to see what is next. You will not guess the ending to this book and if you did, then you cheated. I loved every inch of this book. Highly recommended for all readers of genres as this is not the typical romance novel.

Give me the nerds and the best friends and I’ll be instantly hooked!
There was nothing about this book I didn’t like and I’m legit dying for more from Miss. Sullivan! I feel like Elliot is a Clark Kent. The nerd that no one looks at. He works out and is good looking but everyone oversees him. He has in mind the woman he wants to snag and she’ll be out of town for a month so he wants to be different when she gets back so he enlists his BFF and roommate Fe for help. She designs a program to help him out (an 8 step program) but it all goes to hell when one kiss happens and everything is up in the air.
This was the light hearted, funny, nerdy read I needed. This was the perfect weekend – escape – from – life – read everyone needs!

The Case Of The Missing Books (A Summer McCloud Paranormal Mystery Book 6) By Nikki Broadwell
5-Stars
The Case Of The Missing Books was an excellent paranormal mystery novel. It features mystery, romance, love, and magic. I could not put this book down. It can also be read as a standalone. Summer is the main character and she runs a small business called Tarot and Tea. She solves mysteries on the side with her husband Jerry. She was an amazing character. She was intelligent, strong, compassionate, and determined. She was easily my favorite. There were also many supporting characters that were great as well. The storyline in this novel was easy to follow a d easily kept my attention. I definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading more in this series.

The Case of Missing Books by Nikki Broadwell is the sixth book in the Summer McCloud paranormal mystery series. This can be read as a standalone and enjoyed completely. I had not read the other books in the series but after reading this I am going to go back and catch up. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. There were some twists that I did not expect and the story kept me intrigued. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give any part of the story away. The writing flows well and keeps the story moving. The main character Summer is fun and interesting. She is a bit intriguing. I look forward to more adventures with Summer in the future.
