Trouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty – Review by Sheri Schrader

Trouble's Wedding CaperTrouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Trouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty is the eighth book in the Familiar Legacy series. This is a fun book and can be read as a standalone book. I had not read any of the books before this one but really enjoyed this and am now going back to catch up. I really enjoyed the characters especially Annabel and Ethan. I really was rooting for them. Also, who can resist a cat who can solve mysteries!
This was a fun read that I didn’t want to put down. I had a couple of laughs and liked the mystery. I recommend this for a light read that will keep you entertained.

Trouble's Wedding CaperTrouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Trouble’s Wedding Caper is the eighth book in Familiar Legacy series where each story is by a different writer. This one is by Jen Talty. It is my first encounter with this writer and as I got intrigued by the blurb, I decided to pick up a copy and I did not regret it! I loved the premises of the series – our cool black cat Sherlock Holmes reincarnation Trouble! In this story we find Trouble in Jupiter Florida and where he helps Annabel and Ethen to solve the mystery of a storage unit filled with wedding dresses, bridesmaid gowns and jewellery …
Trouble’s Wedding Caper is a fast paced story that keeps you at the edge of your seat, the twists and turns leave you dizzy and you keep your fingers crossed for a happy ending! I could just imagine Trouble ‘speaking’ with British accent! I am sure I will pick up some more of Trouble’s stories as he is bloody brilliant!

Steamy and filled with action, I love how this third novel pi is up right where the last book left off. Claimed by Via Mari is an excellent addition to The Torzial Affair series. Jenny continues to be one of my favorite characters. I love how Brian helps her to broaden her sexual horizons and partake in her wildest fantasies. I also loved the twists in the storyline that kept it interesting. This book was definitely an easy and quick read. I highly recommend this series to those interested in exotic romance.

Trouble's Wedding CaperTrouble’s Wedding Caper by Jen Talty
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

At first I was skeptical about this book because it starts off with a cat, Trouble, talking about the royal wedding… And for a wedding themed book I can’t say it’s extremely unusual, what with the cat being British and such.
Anyway, after that we meet our main character Annabel and the intrigue starts immediately. Each time the story seems to be getting into a bit of normalcy, something happens to throw a wrench into things.
Except for the fact that Trouble has his own dialogue, this book reminds me a bit of The Cat Who Series. It was a welcome distraction while I recovered from being ill and I will probably be picking up some more from the Familiar Legacy series.

Coming Home: The Sequel to Flowers in December by Jane Suen – Review by Krystal Gaston

COMING HOME (Flowers in December, #2)COMING HOME by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Coming Home written by Jane Suen is the sequel to Flowers in December. This was a pretty quick read but full of so many powerful moments. Conner returns home after his mother’s death and decides to come to terms with everything. In order to heal you have to forgive and move on, but can he do that? This story is so cute for what it is and it will make you think once your finished reading it. I love the characters and the storyline, I would suggest reading book one first but you would still enjoy the story if you didn’t.

This is the fifth book in the Bayou Devils MC. I could not wait to read this story, and A.M. Myers did not disappoint!! I absolutely loved Kady and Noah (aka Hennessy). Their love for each other as well their determination was so fun to read. Their story is a mixture of heartbreak, happiness, and love. A.M. Myers’ story pulls me into the world that she has created and fall in love with the with the characters. I absolutely love that we get glimpses of past characters. This series is definitely one of my favorites that I completely recommend.

Vortex by Kimberly Packard – Review by Heather Bahm

VortexVortex by Kimberly Packard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kimberly Packard’s Vortex was a fully charged read. This story is more than just tornadoes and relationships – it involves self discovery, faces challenges and forging forward into the unknown. This story fully engulfed my imagination within the first several chapters. The story is set in the mid-west during tornado season, but the twisting destruction of the tornado is not the only twister related shifts that occur within the story. Kimberly Packard did an amazing job in tying the natural weather phenomena in the story to give additional depth into the story. This is one of those stories I would absolutely read again due to how well written it was. Beautiful in its destruction and dynamic in its re-building. Wow!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tales of the Dragonfly Book III: Extended Flight, by Tamara Ferguson, is a romantic suspense with a military theme. The story is told from alternating character views, which adds additional depth to it. The main characters of the story are Aaron and Kiley, but there are several supporting characters that carry over from other stories. The sequencing in the story was well paced and I found the dialogue intriguing. It feels like so many pieces at times that are at play in this story, but the way the author brings all the pieces together to combine in this book are fascinating and perfectly tuned together. Tamara Ferguson is a great author and I haven’t read a book yet, that I haven’t enjoyed.

The Inheritance, by India Kells, is the story of an unlikely submissive. This steamy and alluring story sweeps the reader through the chapters following Lani in a series of unplanned events that unravel in front of her. The story was captivating and was an instant page turner. The scenes were descriptive and the imagery was above par. Despite this being a shorter story, it was thorough and an amazing read. I absolutely would love to read more about Lani and Max’s characters as I felt they were magnetic and this story just wasn’t enough for them.

This is usually the genre right up my street full if demon realms in the real world, full of fantasy and action. I thoroughly enjoyed it but felt it was slightly too slow paced to begin with but once the characters and story developed it was page turning you needed to know what was happening next.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Feathers: A novel by Kylie Stewart is a book that will not only keep you hooked from start to finished but will keep you thinking about it days after you have finished reading.
The blurb made it clear that this book would be highly emotional and deep and that is exactly what you get. With a dark edge running through it you are drawn to everything in this book, from the story to the characters.
As the reader you really do become so invested in Charlotte and Hawk. They have both been through so much and the author portrays that so well.
This is a brilliant read and easily one of the best o have read so far this year. I am looking forward to what else is to come.

It has everything you could want – a great story, interesting characters, chemistry and passion.
I loved reading about Noah. He has to be my favourite characters so far. I could have just kept on reading about him all night.
This book is as good as the rest of the series and is definitely worth reading.

Little Do You Know (Bayou Devils MC 5)Little Do You Know by A.M. Myers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great read about time. Noah has been in prison for seven years and has been missing the love of his life, Kady every day since he went inside. When he is released, his mission is to find her and pick up where they left off. But there’ a problem, no one has seen or heard of her for years. With barely anything to go on, can he find her and wil she want him back in his life after all this time?
A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Noah’s sense of humour but also struggling with his feelings or Kady standing up for herself but caring underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the supportive Blaze or the grumpy Streak
I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like in the sense of open and closed spaces with the prison and the park or the clubhouse and the stars contrasting beautifully for the sense Noah struggling to fit in anywhere. Othe use of tick for the time passing like a clock while he waist was a great idea and gave the sense of impatience brilliantly written.
The only issue I would raise is that the prologue felt unnecessary as the first chapter grabs the readers attention more, and most of the details in the prologue were covered in reminiscences by Noah, which caused repetition. These memories were written well and didnt distract from the narrative of the present, giving sympathy to Noah over the happy life he lost. The switch of perspectives worked well to display both sides of events and was easy to follow with names as chapter subtitles.Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

Feathers - A NovelFeathers – A Novel by Kylie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Feathers by Kylie Stewart is a wonderful, sweet, heart-warming romance that will have you gripped from the very first page right to the very last. I loved everything about this book.
Charlotte (Lottie) Waters was only 14 when she got away from the evil group of men who had ‘bought’ her and had been abusing her. She was brought to the home of 21 year old. Hawk McLean whose grandmother gave home to girls who had got away from abusive situations. Immediately Lottie and Hawk were both drawn to one another.
Over the years they became very close, with Hawk being the one person that regarded as her saviour. Having been in love with Hawk since she was 14, now an adult, Lottie and Hawk embark on a beautiful relationship.
Considering her abusive past, I loved how Lottie was able to allow Hawk in and have a relationship with him. I also adored how sensitive Hawk was to Lottie’s wants and needs. Let’s be honest most guys in their 20’s would be happy to get only 1 thing from Lottie. (Although I do have to admit that the sex scenes in this book are pretty hot!!) Hawk‘s treatment of Lottie was just beautiful. He just worshipped the very ground she walked on.
If you are looking for a beautiful heartfelt romance, with the added bonus of hot sex, then this book is perfect.

Little Do You Know (Bayou Devils MC Book 5) by A.M. Myers – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Little Do You Know (Bayou Devils MC 5)Little Do You Know by A.M. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Little Do You Know by A.M. Myers is book five of the Bayou Devils MC series. This book can be read as a standalone but to understand all the characters that make an appearance in this book, I suggest reading the books in order. Each book is amazing it it’s own way so you’d do yourself a disservice by not reading them all.

Kady and Noah have been together forever. A turn of events has separated them but Noah is determined to find her. Noah has loved her most of his life, he’s not giving up now no matter how much of a fight Kady puts up. Kady knows Noah is her soul mate but she’s experienced too much pain the last few years. She’s not sure if she can put it all behind her and let him back into her life.

This book blew me away. I literally read it in one sitting. I could feel Noah’s pain. He desperately wanted Kady back in his life and Kady, because of the last few years, is reluctant. My heart broke for both of them. This book is a emotional roller coaster and I wish I could read it for the first time over and over again!

There Be Demons (Andor Demon Wars Book 1) by M. K. Theodoratus – Review by Erica Fish

There Be DemonsThere Be Demons by M.K. Theodoratus
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

There Be Demons by M. K. Theodoratus is an engaging read. It is a YA story with all the big players involved. The story is made up of demons, angels, gargoyles, drama, magic, and good vs. evil battles. The story line kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself yelling at my kindle trying to get the team moving in the right direction. The story is not based on Earth but on a different world. The description that M. K. Thedoratus gives us makes it easy to see it in my mind’s eye. Britt Kelly, one of the teens, was drafted to fight in the Demon Wars. What will happen in this leg of the battle? Who else will been drafted to fight? Will good overcome evil? I cannot wait to read the next story to get some insight.

Feathers - A NovelFeathers – A Novel by Kylie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I just finished reading Feathers, by Kylie Stewart.

So… This book is AMAZING!

My heart hurt so much for Charlotte at the beginning, it was unbelievable.
But then you get to follow her life and see firsthand how she learns to trust, hope and love again.

And Hawk plays a big part in her transformation but first they got to go through all the emotions – skepticism, shared looks, understanding, friendship, closeness – and all that leads to love so deep, it makes you ache.

I loved all the characters, even the secondary ones – I would actually love to read their stories right from the beginning through their perspective!

But Charlotte and Hawk share a dynamic that makes you second guess all the previous love stories you’ve read and loved – and I think it’s because Kylie Stewart did such an amazing job setting up a foundation for the couple to build on – it’s almost like you, the reader, got to help them get there.

I really hope you pick this book up – I fully recommend it and will be sharing this book for a while to come!

Broken Sand Dollar (The Sand Dollar Series Book 3) by J.D. Boudreaux – Review by Erica Fish

Broken Sand DollarBroken Sand Dollar by J.D. Boudreaux
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Broken Sand Dollar is the last book in the Sand Dollar Series by J D Boudreaux. As this is the last book in the series, I highly recommend reading the first two books in the series. The story has been building from the first book, Penny For Your Thoughts. The books are a contemporary love story. We follow Alex through his relationships, and it has been a big emotional ride. The characters are complex and can totally be a friend in the neighborhood. One main thing I liked about this story is that it was believable. I found myself talking to my kindle trying to get Alex’s attention. There are personal demons that the characters go through, but it was handled like my best friend would assist me in fixing my problems. I hope that you enjoy Alex and take the roller coaster ride like I did.

Little Do You Know (Bayou Devils MC Book 5), by A.M. Myers is another amazing book in an amazing series. Noah, jailed simply wants his freedom and wants the girl that captured his heart years ago. In 6th grade, Kady and Noah met, years went by and they were engaged to be married. On Noah’s last run for the Bayou Devils, things go wrong, and he is arrested and sentenced to 7 years in prison. A simple run to gain money for a future with his love, turned into the worse nightmare. Little do any of them know the hell that Kady endured for 7 years, but the journey in this book is filled with love, suspense, heartache and such loyalty. (I want to be careful of spoilers)

A.M. Myers again gave us a story that we are able to get lost in, and really feel like we are in the middle of the story and surrounded by Bayou Devils. You feel the emotion, you hear the roar of the motorcycles, and you sense the brotherhood as you read about this MC. This intense story and even more intense characters will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat, turning pages till you feel and know the story of Kady and Noah! Another five star read in series that has climbed to be a favorite MC series.

Feathers - A NovelFeathers – A Novel by Kylie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book. It had a powerful start that set the scene for the rest of the book. Although our introduction to Charlotte was harrowing, ultimately this was a story of hope and love. I liked the characters of Lottie and Hawk very much. I thought we were given enough background to appreciate why they behaved the way they did and how they could love with such passion and dedication. I liked the respect Hawk gave to Charlotte when he could have been selfish and the way he flipped between calling her by her full name and his nickname for her. I liked the minor characters too, Melody with her unwavering loyalty to Charlotte and Mrs Ames. I enjoyed the fact that we saw Charlotte go from the Hell of the first few pages to the Heaven of the last, without missing out the everyday struggles in between.
I would have liked to see more about Hawk’s mom and what happened to her. Perhaps that is fuel for another story? I await that with baited breath. Overall a great love story, highly recommended.

Honest to God, this book blew me away. I spent the first half of the book sobbing my heart out. Not only did Charlotte go through hell and back but the love that formed between Hawk and her played with my heart. I fell in love with these two characters. Charlotte is a beautiful old soul who is strong and resilient. She had horrible experiences and refused to break. Hawk had a more privileged childhood but had his own issues and was lost. He is patient and compassionate. They gave each other wings which enabled them to fly. The evolution of their relationship was beautiful. Starting with tentative steps towards trust, leading to friendship then unknowingly falling in love.

What a breathtaking story! It was a book filled with pain, betrayal and fear yet at the same time filled with bravery, love and hope. The author did an extraordinary job of bringing this story to life.

“Why are you crying? Did I hurt you?”

“I’m crying because I love you so much it hurts.”

This book not only warmed my heart but touched my soul as well. Thank you Ms. Stewart.

This story!! I still can’t stop thinking about it even after finishing it two days ago! It was such a beautifully, detailed read that I was hooked from beginning to end. This incredibly talented author took me on one of the biggest emotional rollercoasters that I’ve been on for a while. I lived all of the ups and downs with the wonderful characters that she had created.
Charlotte and Hawk – these two – I don’t even know how to explain my feelings about them. I cried for them both, especially Charlotte – what an awful time she had but I admired the strength she had to keep going every day. They are both these two wonderful characters who you just desperately want the best for. I became completely 100% invested in their story.
This is the first full length novel that I have read by this author having previously read short stories by her in anthologies and this truly was an outstanding read. I cannot wait to read more from her in the future and I am eagerly awaiting the release of ‘Wings’!!

There Be Demons by M.K. Theodoratus was a very entertaining fantasy read! I was really intrigued by the storyline from the very beginning, this storyline was unlike anything I’ve read in the past. The Gargoyles, Demons and the Chosen ones had me sitting on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn.

I really enjoyed how detailed this story was and how well it was written. The many POV’s all flowed well with the storyline and I never found it hard to follow along. I did find that the story had a slower start where I found myself with many questions wondering how everything was going to play out, yet even with that being said I enjoyed how nothing about this story was predictable!

This was my very first book by this author but it won’t be my last, I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Ginny and Kieran will captivate you. The depth of the characters in this series have been sublime, you need to invest a little time in this one so don’t think you can pick it up and put it down every five minutes but if you have the time to give in and get stuck in then you wont be disappointed, the world building is second to none and will make you feel like you are in another time and place.

There Be Demons is the first book in the Andor Demon Wars series. It can be read as a standalone.

I have to say this book was challenging to get into at first. The first third of the book felt like it was dragging on. I’d definitely say it is a slow burn story. However, once you get toward the middle, it starts to pick up. I will also say that I really did not like the main character at first. Britt comes across as a petulant brat. Although, to be fair, teens are full of angst, especially when their world feels out of control. Overall, I’d say it was an interesting read. The characters have a lot of dimension and the premise of the story is intriguing.

This book starts as tragedy and heartache for a 14 year old Charlotte or Lottie. Suddenly her circumstances change when she goes to live with Mrs. Ames and her grandson Hawk who is in his early 20’s. Hawk is immediately taken by the green eyed beauty and wants to help her heal. Years go by as they both grow up but the attraction remains for both of them. This book is a slow burn but has so much body and substance. The transformation of Lottie growing into an adult is amazing. They also struggle with the age gap. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
