Coming Home by Jane Suen
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars

This is such a sweet book. Jane Suen can always make me smile or get a quick book fix. This story had about five characters to follow, each with their own story and hardship.

Mary Ann is seeing Ron after Conner leaves and doesn’t speak to her for four months, so she has moved on. Connor is back in town and wants to see Mary Ann desperately and possibly rekindle their relationship, but he doesn’t see that being possible with the way he left things. Ron is interested in Mary Ann and spends a lovely Christmas with her. Dottie was a friend of Connor’s mother and is like family to him, and is estranged from her daughter. Alana is Dottie’s daughter, she wants nothing to do with her mother until this year, when things change and put life in perspective. You will have to read the book to see what comes of everyone.

Great short read. The characters were easy to love or hate and their stories easy to relate to. I really felt for Dottie and Alana’s situation because it all seems so unreal and terrible what they went through. I am on the fence about Mary Ann and Connor or Mary Ann and Ron. I do think it really sucks how Connor left it with Mary Ann, but I can understand his state of mind. If they would just talk it all out things could maybe become more clear and forgiveness could start. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a nice sweet story, with a hint of romance.
