I am not usually an avid reader of historical fiction, but this book kept me on the edge of my seat. My heart broke for Tobias and the life he was forced to live. This story describes the harsh reality that is faced by more children than we may realize. Ms. Burton has again led us into an exciting and emotional journey. Friend is the third book in the What Happens on Campus series and was a great addition to what has been a fantastic to read series! The books do however need to be read in order in my opinion. Terri’s story was a really emotional read – she was always so sure of herself until the attack that she encounters. Although this made her feel vulnerable I thought she still had this strength about her that I admired and this clearly attracted Jet to her even though he has always maintained that he wanted nothing more than friendship. I really liked this pairing – it just felt right in my opinion. I think he genuinely did want to help re-build her confidence in light of what happened and this just opened his eyes to maybe wanting more from than just friendship. As always, with this author, I was fully invested in what I was reading from beginning to end and I am really looking forward to more from M.L. Sparrow in the future!

I do like the forbidden romance genre so I was really looking forward to reading Battling Beckett and I was not disappointed at all. I really enjoyed the story – I thought that it was well written, had a good pace and flow and I really liked the characters. The story was maybe a little predictable but I honestly didn’t mind because I was fully invested in Greer and Beckett’s story especially the deeper into the book I got. The author had worked really hard to make the characters relatable and this really helped me as a reader to understand their feelings towards each other. I would definitely recommend this story to others especially if you ate a fan of step-brother romances – it was definitely one of my favourites in this genre! I have read stories by this author previously and I shall look forward to reading more in the future.

Paladin’s Hell: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter Book 1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Randall Murphy This is a great story of young love that prevails through time, doubt, and well-meaning obstacles. The MC life is not for everyone and is a culture unto itself, but there is loyalty and family present that goes way beyond blood lines. This story has plenty of sub-plots and suspense to keep you interested all the way to the end. The characters are well-developed and relatable allowing you to easily visualize the people and the scenes. It’s easy to cheer for the young couple as the older adults mistakenly put obstacles in the way that are well-intentioned, but just drive the two hearts together faster.

Book One of the ELEMENTAL FAE ACADEMY is a story that I read in one sitting. It has good world building, is visually written, told in multiple points of view and decent character development.
There were times when I wanted to pinch the female protagonist and tell her to pay attention and calm down. There were times I wanted to tell the male protagonists to just do it already.
The story is an interesting take on the elements and the dynamics of different “personalities”.

Resisting the Rancher by Kadie Scott was a great romance read! I would give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. First thing I have to say, I loved the slow burn. It was the first thing I noticed and really appreciated. I had Nora Roberts vibes while reading. Rusty is a strong independent woman trying to prove herself to the world and her dad. I couldn’t get enough of this story!! This book drew me in from the beginning, I couldn’t put it down until I got to the end and it left me in a cliffhanger!!! Ugh!!! I need more!! I love Claire and her vulnerability, but also her strength. She has been put through so much in a short amount of time and I found her character to be very relatable. Let’s not forget all sexy guys in this story. I was a little weary of Exos at first but my opinion changed as read on and Titus I liked from the start. I hope I get to know Vox more in the next book. This story was full of action, intrigue, and temperature rising moments. I highly recommend this book and I am impatiently waiting to read book 2.

Elemental Fae Academy (Elemental Fae Academy Book 1) by Lexi C. Foss & J.R. Thorn was an excellent paranormal Romance. I absolutely loved Claire’s character as well as bother Exos and Titus. Both were portrayed as extremely attractive alpha males. I also like how several other possible mates were introduced subtlety for Claire in this reverse harem. They all had excellent development and back story.
I also really enjoyed the organization and flow of the story. It was easy to read and easy to keep up with the various characters in the book. The various settings were also descriptive and easy to picture. The way the magical aspects of each elemental creation demonstrated how imaginative the authors are and allowed me to easily use my imagination for the story. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and highly recommend this excellent novel.

Laurie L.C Lewis is a new author for me, and after having experienced her writing I will definitely be looking forward to reading more. This book was an excellent thriller, suspense read that had me hooked & captivated from the start. You were on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns that were weaved throughout the read! I loved the characters that Lewis has created, they were well developed, relatable and likeable. I loved the journey we were taken on, it was a rollercoaster ride of suspense, intrigue, mystery and a thrilling ride of secrets. I’m so glad I got the chance to read this, I can’t wait to read more from this author to see what else she brings!

This was another great new author find. I really enjoyed this quaint little romance. The author has a refreshing style. I found that the characters were realistic. I found myself lost in this book as I would love to visit that part of Scotland featured in the book.
Ailey and Alec are such a good couple. I found myself really interested in Ailey’s character as I have known a few people with alcohol addiction. I like how the author balanced the drama in the book with the romance. It kept me glued to the book and at the edge of my seat to see what would happen next. I really liked how the book was not predictable. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

This is a set of books that will hook you in from the very beginning and will take you on a journey that includes suspense and romance. The books had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. I really loved reading about the character of Archer Blackwood. Archer is a man that is considered hard and cold. He finds himself in a world that he never knew existed. Will he also discover love? I also enjoyed reading about the character of Kai. He is resourceful and who with his brothers have the objective of bringing down their father. What will happen when a woman from his past reappears with secrets of her own? I found myself caring about each one of these characters with each chapter that I read. The stories had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading them. There are romantic scenes and also bantering back and forth. I also enjoyed reading about the other characters that are introduced. Don’t miss out on a set of stories that will pull you in and not let you go until the final page. Highly recommended.

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
This is the 4th book in the Interstellar Rescue Series. Again, and again the books in this series keep getting better and better to me. This story is full of romance, action, suspense and danger, which all nicely fit together to make for a wonderful book.
Charlie is a compassionate and loving woman with a rough history in the love department. She is assigned to a man called Del with dementia, when she meets his son Rafe. She falls in love at first sight but will continuously push him away.
Rafe is a Interstellar Rescue agent and he brings his father to earth to get care as, they are being targeted by assassins. Rafe also falls in love with Charlie at first sight but, wants to stay away in order to protect their secrets. Charlie starts digging a little too deep into their lives and soon discovers what they have been hiding. When danger reaches them it is up to Rafe to protect his father and the woman he loves.
I am fully invested at this point with this series. Each book sucks me into the story every time. Each book can be read as a standalone but I would recommend the full series.

The Dark Sparrow Box Set contains books 1-3 in the thrilling Dark Sparrow Series by India Kells. It contains the 3 full length novels Lost Bastard, Cold Bastard and Wild Bastard. India Kells is an author I’ve come to love over the last 18 months and these 3 books are a fantastic example of how great an author she is. The Dark Sparrow series is centred around 6 brothers. They are all the bastard sons of their evil father and have joined forces to bring him down. Each book gives us the story of one brother and the woman who has captured his heart. These 3 books contain Alexsei, Archer and Kai. You could technically read each of these books as a standalone but as it’s such an amazing series I’d definitely recommend reading them all, starting with these 3. If you love a great romance story which is filled with drama and suspense then this is definitely the series for you. India Kells sure knows how to write a fantastic story that will take you on an amazing roller coaster of a journey. Added to that is her skill of writing amazing characters who really draw you into their stories and make you want more. I promise that you will absolutely love Alexsei, Archer and Kai. As there are 6 brothers I’m kind of assuming that we are going to get another 3 fabulous books to add to this series. I’m praying that is the case as this is a series I could read over and over and still love it every time.

I have loved this series from the first book I picked up. I was excited to see that the first three books in this series is in one box set. Each book is about a different brother, one is rich, one is a beach bum and the other is an orphan. They are hot, sexy men that will take you on a journey of secrets, romance and even some action. They all had me turning pages fast and left me wanting more. If there is anyone boxset that you must read, it is this one! I highly recommend picking up this one.

The Complete Fenris Series by Samantha MacLeod is a boxed set with all five books in the series. I love boxed sets because it is a one stop shop, no waiting to get a hold of the other books in the series. This is an original paranormal fantasy series that is complex and magical with everything you need to make a great read. There is romance and drama, suspense and action, adventure and erotic scenes. This series about Fenrir who is a wolf and the son of Loki but is he a true monster? The story and the characters are well developed and the mythology helps to entice readers into this new and strange world. The stories are shorter but they certainly don’t lack in the telling. There are a lot of emotions from happiness to torture and you feel them as you journey along with the characters. Fenris who is not depicted as the kind soul he is, but he is seen as a monster. He meets Sol and his whole world changes. There are plenty of ups and downs for the couple and within themselves. Sol is a little naïve of the world and the people within it and her eyes are most definitely opened. Is she in love with the man or the fantasy? What horrors will they have to endure? Will they survive and remain together. All this and more is waiting for you to take a look.

Book 1 Brilliant! Deva is forced to return to a life she left leave behind but it is only temporary, or so she tries to tell herself but she finds herself falling in love with a man who would be her downfall. His world is not a world she wants to be in.
Aleksei is a MMA fighter with ties to the Russian Bratva and a dark, dark world. Aleksei’s fathers is an evil man and he has just discovered that there are others that hate the man as much as he does.
I’m not going to give the plot away, but I will say this was a superbly written story, a gripping page-turner, with a good helping of grit, angst and smouldering scenes. A fabulous read for those who love the genre and I will very much look forward to reading more.
Cold Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 2) is a real page turner and the chaos start from the very beginning. We are thrown into a world where power and money mean more than blood. Where a monster will get what he wants and doesn’t care who or what he destroys to get there. The mystery and intrigue will keep you on the edge of your seat and with all the twists and turns you don’t see what’s coming.

Wild Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel Book 3) is another gripping tale in this series and about second chances. India’s stories are cleverly woven together and are definite page turners and she has never let me down. I know I am in great hands when I pick up one of her explosive stories. I was on the edge of my seat and I was unable to put it down as I had to know what was coming. The story complex and multi layered and is full of action and danger, intrigue and suspense, secrets and lies and so much more and sizzling, sexy and hot, hot, hot.
Isabelle is introduced to the Bastards and chosen for her particular ability, to help them bring down a monster. What she did not expect was a part of her past to show and have all her secrets revealed.
Kai is torn between bringing down the man who destroys everything, to the one woman who can bring him to his knees.
India has lead us through a world where suspense and danger are the name of the game. Where secrets and lies could ruin it all. Where monsters lurk and cause havoc. Where love is is found in the unlikely of circumstances.
This is a must to be on your TBR list. I know you will love them as much as I did. I am waiting to see what comes next.

Secrets Never Die is a well-written tale full of suspense. There is a lot of detail and a lot of twists and turns to keep up with, but the mystery of it all keeps you hooked. The characters are full of depth and complexity. If you want a rollercoaster ride of danger and intrigue, this is the book for you. Just be prepared to be in it for the long-haul. You won’t sleep until you’ve read the last word! Brilliant work!

If you do not know much about the infamous Orphan Trains and placements of orphans, you will have an opportunity to learn about a chapter in America’s history! The writer gives us an emotional story that leaves no eye dry – I had to put the book down so many times, I was afraid to continue reading as I knew what would happen next, what was the ultimate outcome but again and again, I picked it up to continue the journey that was the life of Tobias who we met in the first book – from the moments we met him when he was four and his sister teaching him to steal to the last breath he took …I still get tears in my eyes when writing this review … The writer has masterfully mixed history with drama and fact and fiction and even when you know that these characters are not “real”, they are real and you are forced to feel and ponder our humanity and what price might one asked to pay …

Of War and Taters by Ashley Chappell is a funny yet entertaining story that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down till the end. I loved all the characters and their personalities . Miami Days, Havana Nights By Linda Bennett Pennell. Once again I’m blown away at how much I enjoyed take a step back through time with this story. The author just has a way with words turned into vivid movie like stories. From start to finish it’s an incredible journey readers are taken on in past and present with characters you can’t help but feel connected with. I found myself so drawn into the story I just couldn’t put it down which definitely lead to a late night but it was definitely worth it. It’s got a well balanced mix of suspense and romance I found myself trying to flip the pages as fast as possible while also not wanting it to end. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Five stars and highly recommend!
This book has it all. Gods, Demons, major conflict, and love. The initial story of the four horsemen, Uri, Gabby, Raphael, and Michael starts out with a bang. This story focused on Michael and Tara and it was good. Watching them fall in love, having to overcome the many problems was a joy, I love happy endings. I look forward to the future novels and each of the other horsemen find their love as well.

Not Fade Away: Interstellar Rescue Series Book 4 by Donna S. Frelick
I loved this book just as much as the other three in this series. This book as well as the others in this series can be read as a standalone without feeling lost. I suggest that you read all of them because they are great reads and you do get introduced to some characters that are in other books. This story is full of action, adventure, sci fi, romance, and danger. The author does a wonderful job blending all these aspects of the story so well. There are wonderful characters in this book and Charlie and Rafe had chemistry from the start. I read this book in one sitting because it intrigued me so much and I needed to know what happens. You must read to find out where this adventure will take you. I highly recommend this book.

Elemental Fae Academy: Book One by Lexi C. Foss and J.R. Thorn is the first book in the Elemental Fae Academy trilogy. This book is brilliant from start to finish and I cannot recommend it highly enough! Lexi C. Foss is an author that has very quickly become one of my go to authors so to discover that she has co-written a book with another author who I am familiar with was definitely something to get excited about. And wow this book did not disappoint. I loved it right from the word go!! The characters were so sexy and captivating. You couldn’t help but imagine yourself as Claire. The story was great as well. It was developed well and had that hook that keeps you reading. This was a fantastic book and I cannot wait to see what the next one brings.

Forbidden by Autumn Sand was a super steamy read! I would rate this book a five out of five stars. I love this writing style and the variety of stories keeps you on your toes. The approach was unique and well done. I finished the story in one sitting and definitely intend to reread multiple times.
Of War and Taters by Ashley Chappell is a whimsical mystery with an endearing cast of characters. As I started reading the book I found it hard to figure out what kind of book it was supposed to be and where the story was going – it seemed like we were being shown a bunch of relatively unconnected events. But as the story progressed, everything began coming together and making sense (well, a bit of sense at least!). At the centre of the story is a theme of gossip and misleading journalism that is all too familiar in our “post-truth” world. Stories are blown out of proportion or even fabricated for dramatic effect, and even threaten to become self-fulfilling prophecies. There are characters for everyone to enjoy. The Upper and Lower Jelly River gangs are rival groups of mischievous, inquisitive children who have been thrust into the spotlight. They remind me of characters in books like Swallows and Amazons – sworn enemies until they find something else to team up against. Then there’s the Sherriff (double “r” intended) who seems to be doing quite well for someone whose usually quiet town has been turned upside down. There’s a circus to rival The Greatest Showman, with some excellent characters like Goliath the giant and Chaz the astigmatic ape. There’s Monty the thespian ghost, who reminded me somewhat of Gordon Way in Dirk Gently. I could go on! It’s an eclectic, endearing cast. For me, this is a five star book. It’s entertaining, engaging and different. If you enjoy books that are both very clever and very silly, such as the works of Douglas Adams and Tom Holt, I would definitely recommend it!

Paladin’s Hell by Manda Mellet is the first book in the Satan’s Devil’s MC Colorado Chapter spin off series.
I’ve read several of the Tucson books and liked each of the characters and was sad to say bye to them but I quickly found myself getting attached to the Pueblo crew and this was the perfect way for them to introduced to us.
Paladin is a good person and will do anything he needs to for Jayden. Their relationship didn’t start in the most conventional way but the depth of their love was a surprise to everyone especially them.
Though Hell and Moira are older then my husband and I, I felt like I could relate to her more because of the stage they are in in their life. Empty nesting is a learning process and Moira probably could have done it and a few other things differently.
I will be keeping up with this series. I want to know what happens to everyone and get to know each of the new guys better.

This is the 3rd book in The Jewel Chronicles series. I would recommend reading the first 2 books in the series first as it will give you all the details and information on characters that you need. It is totally worth reading all 3 books!!
In this installment we see Milenda with her husband Jaali readying themselves for a revolution. All they both wanted was to live a simple peaceful life, but duty calls and Milenda has to save her people.
Both Milenda and Jaali have been through a lot, and I wanted them to be able to relax as well. Milenda is an amazing and strong woman and it’s beautiful to watch her grow throughout the series. The fantasy land of Natale will really pull you in. It felt as though I was there myself observing and that is what I love the most in a book.
I would highly recommend this series and I cant stress enough that the best option is to read all 3 books!

Manda’s life’s always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman? There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected. Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter. Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.
