The story of Vethe and Lyria was very interesting. It kept my attention and I loved following them as they took this journey to finding each other. I love fantasy and paranormal novels and this series have become one of my favorites. The Flame and the Blade has enough adventure and intrigue to make this novel a good read. I look forward to continuing Vethe’s and Lyria’s journey in the next installment.

I can’t believe that I am about to say this but the Mountains series from Phoebe Alexander is quickly becoming my favorite of hers. That is super hard for me to say because I adored her Eastern Shore Swingers series so much it became a regular read in my life.
With the Mountains series we get to see more of the hot and emotional romance that we have come to expect and love from Alexander. I absolutely adore that she takes an unconventional lifestyle and makes it seem so well, conventional. The emotions and the life changes that happen to the characters become extremely deep and embedded in your soul as you read. I walked away from this book feeling as if Sarah was very real and a much loved person I wish I could meet. The supporting characters get more of a voice in this book, especially James and boy do I love that man. So much emotions got brought to the surface and I can’t wait to see what will come next in the third book!

Mountains Climbed by Phoebe Alexander is the second book in the Mountains Series. This does need to be read in order as it is a continuation of James and Sarah’s story. This book is so emotionally charged. With the way things ended in book one I absolutely had to read this book. I was torn with the direction this book was going in because it wasn’t what I was hoping for and yet I have learnt to trust this author implicitly in her writing. By the end of the first page I was completely drawn into the book and these characters again. It honestly felt like my heart was ripped apart and patched back together so many times while reading this book. There is so much that I could say about this hook but I won’t because I don’t want to ruin the experience for anyone else. If you haven’t already picked up this series then I would recommend you doing so immediately!!!

I loved Covert Threat! It has all the makings of a book you just can’t put down. Romance, danger,mystery. Jules Moretti is a work obsessed Infectious Disease Specialist who is being threatened and in danger. Trev Shaw, former Navy Seal is hired to protect her and that’s where the chemistry begins. This is a book you will finish in one sitting. Great story that keeps you intrigued and guessing.

Out of The Shadows by Theresa Sederholt was absolutely incredible. There are several triggers in this book if you have experienced or been a victim of domestic violence or assault. This book captured me from the first page. I couldn’t put it down. This was one of the most heartfelt and broken hearted stories I’ve read in a while. There are so many people that can relate to this novel, but also for the ones who can’t Sederholt does an incredible job painting that picture. This story I think was meant to spread a message, and what a message it is. 5/5 stars from me, I highly recommend this novel for not only the ones who have been through abuse before, but especially for the ones who haven’t. You never know what is going on until you’re moving through it in your own life.

This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite yet so far. This author writes with creativity and detail that makes you feel part of the story. This is a young adult story that brings you back to your teenage years of drama and growing up. It takes you through the relationship of Nico and Leda and the struggles of teenage romance. They are great characters and I loved watching them grow throughout the story. They made you feel as if you are in Italy with them and in the 90s. I highly recommend reading this book, you won’t regret picking it up.

Chasing Starlight (Daughters of Night Chronicles) by Jennifer Siddoway and Matilda Reyes 4 of 5 Stars “The boogie man is real, and Cassandra Williams would know—she’s seen him” Cassandra Williams is a elementary school teacher in Southern California, she is a likeable character and very relatable with her relationships with her family, a potential love interest in Henry and her concerns at starting her new job. All very normal until we then learn that as well as her day job as a teacher Cassandra also moonlights at night as a ‘Dream Weaver’, oh and her father is the ‘Lord of Night’. This is the first book in the fantasy series, ‘Daughters of Night Chronicles’, by Siddoway and Reyes. I am new to these two authors, and I really enjoyed this fantasy read, with mystery, adventure and a touch of romance thrown in. It is well written, and the authors set the scene with their descriptions, bringing their fantasy world, the ‘Realm of Dreams’ alive. As a Dream Weaver, Cassandra must “collect the dust of dreamers to maintain the illusion between our worlds”. The storyline had me hooked form page one and follows Cassandra as she learns that Dream Weavers are disappearing and that she maybe next, for in the shadows lurks a demon who wants to prevent Cassandra from leaving the Real of Dreams. Therefore Cassandra must find a way of defeating the ‘Shadow Demon’ and return to her daytime life as a elementary school teacher. This was a lovely fantasy read, and it was so engaging that it kept me turning the pages well into the night as I was cheering Cassandra on. I look forward to the rest of the series.

The Flame And The Blade. Wow I was totally sucked into this wonderful story. Meredith Hart perfectly painted this tale, the description was so thought out, it felt as if I was there with Lyria and Vethe in the Demon Forest. I found this book easy to read and it was unlike anything I’ve read before, I couldn’t guess what was going to happen. The characters were well written and very likeable. Really pleased this is the start of a new series, I look forward to reading more about Lyria’s adventures in the future.

I give The Flame and The Blade by Meredith Hart, 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this fantasy/fantasy romance book. Both characters feel like failures, yet they must go on. Lyria picks herself back up from heartbreak, swallows her pride, and goes back to working with her family. This sends her on a mission to escort a noble through treacherous lands. She just wants to prove herself to her family. Little does she know just what she will encounter and just how much her way of thinking will be altered.
Vethe just feels useless so he seeks solace in the bottle — many bottles to be exact. His uncle comes to bring him back home so that they can send him on a mission to recover something said to be hidden. They hire the help of an escort, but little do they realize it will be a woman. He learns that maybe his life isn’t so hopeless after all.
The main part of the story is the journey and all that happens during this time. It is so well written, you feel like you are there. The characters are great too. They are not perfect, and they realize this. That makes them very relatable.
If you are a fan of fantasy with romance involved, I highly reccomend this book. I for one cannot wait to read the next book.

I want to start off by saying I LOVE the quote on the last page. It’s by Ralph Waldo Emerson. He summed up the reason for this book perfectly. Sadly, domestic violence is a problem. This story tells an unusual tale of the male being the victim. It shows his shame and embarrassment as well his loss of what to do. He seems to flounder a lot just trying to survive every day. Luckily there are people out there to help it’s just getting the courage before it’s too late.
This is well written and it makes me think. It drew me in from the beginning and I was hooked until that last sentence. The characters seemed real and I was concerned for them. I have read others by this author and she seems to never disappoint me.

This book is brilliant, a great page turner, magical, suspenseful and a wonderful fantasy read. It has brilliant characters, as well a great story line trying to find out if the demon is going to be caught! Would highly recommend and I cannot wait for the next one in the series.

The Rewind Box Set contains the 4 full length novels which make up books 1 – 4 of the Rewind Series by Rowan Shaw. These books are Rewind, Return, Revive and Rebound. These are erotic novels set in France with emphasis on the LGBTQ community. With the majority being M/M sex, these novels include bisexual, polyamorous and transgender characters and include many sexual scenes with 3 or more characters. These books are not for the faint of heart. If you like a good steamy read that ventures outside heterosexuality then this box set is a must. I loved all 4 books. They are all different in their own ways and I loved the different variety across the 4 books. If I had to pick my favourite then it would be the first book in the series Rewind. Part of my reasoning for loving this book is that as a partially deaf person myself, I adored that Rowan Shaw had a profoundly deaf character as the main character in this book. As well as his deafness, I just adored Enzo as a character all round. He is just so sweet and loving and I was desperate for him to find his HEA. I loved that as the series progressed, Shaw revisited the characters from previous books, in some cases giving them a prominent role. I’m hoping that this is not the last we will see of these characters.

From the very beginning this book had me hooked, I Felt a connection with Trish from the very beginning. The heartbreak and betrayal she went through is something that i felt torn apart with her. I am a sucker for a good angsty story and this was no disappointment. When your past can haunt you and keep you from enjoying what’s right infront of you. Makes you yell at the characters in the book, but in a good way. This had my emotions all over the place up and down, but I loved every second of it. I recommend highly!

When I first saw this book and read the Synopsis, my first thought was ‘Oh this is so my type of book’. Little did I know that would be a complete understatement. As I read more about both Lyria and Vethe I loved both so much. I loved the wit, the humor, the snark, the adventure. I loved how the chapters switched from each point of view but still explained the situations they were going through and internal monologues. This has everything. Action, Adventure, Brilliant Characters, Magic, and very very steamy scenes that weren’t overly done either. I was extremely excited to read this and can’t wait to read more from this author either!

This is a fantastic set of books. I can’t sing enough praises to Rowan Shaw for this excellent set of stories. The characters in each book are all so wonderful and I am immediately drawn into knowing more about each relationship. The trials the characters had to face are very real in the gay community and are explained and handled so nicely. It makes my heart hurt for anyone facing these situations knowing that their end may not be had happy as that in these books but I am extremely pleased with how everything comes to a close. I hope, pray and wish for more books like this from Rowan Shaw, re reading the series won’t be enough for me!

King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh. This story while short sure was packed full with everything I’d wanted. This author is new to me but I’m excited to see more. Christian and Gabriella have a Chemistry that really jumps right off the pages and I had moments of forgetting I was reading a book. I’m a sucker for a good enemy to lovers story and this well was beyond good. It’s steamy story that had me completely hooked from start to finish. It’s well paced and the characters are well written. I loved every minute. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. Four stars and highly recommended.

Theresa Sederholt had written a very clear story. She went in with one thing, to show Men just like Women fear Domestic Violence. It is not always the women that get hurt. I fell in love with the bravery Dan and Brady showed. How they took control of their lives and did what needed to be done. They ASK FOR HELP! Theresa Sederholt touches on many aspects of domestic violence and how things change in the blink of an eye. Well done!

Gaia Amman was a new author for me, and I’ve not read any teenage books since I was one myself (which was a long time ago). I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to connect with the characters since I”m old enough to be their mother. Boy was I wrong! This book was so beautifully written and such detail given to each character, I absolutely couldn’t put this book down. Leda (Lee) is the main character we follow throughout her teen years. She is your normal teenage girl, with the same questions we all had at that age (and some still!). Through her eyes you see and remember what it’s like to be that young and what situations our teens go through. Another part of the reason I loved this book so much was for the Italian in it. Gaia left some Italian words intact and that just added to it for me. Absolutely a must read- no matter your age!

After reading this book, I realized that this will be an awesome series. I’m very excited to read the rest. Considering how the book ended, I can’t wait to get my hands on part two. This is a fantasy novel filled with magic and adventure, some danger and love.
After getting her heart broken, Lyria leaves the Adventurers Guild and returns to her family’s Guard Guild in shame. Luckily her brothers forget the I told you so and accept her back with open arms. Having to work her way up from the bottom again, Lyria accepts her first assignment. It should have been simple, escort a noble to the ruins of a castle and bring him back home. Unfortunately for her, said noble happens to be an illegal wild mage who is a direct descendant of the man who nearly destroyed the world during the Demon Wars. This ten day trek turned into fourteen days of gruelling conditions filled with life and death situations.
Once I started reading this book, I had a hard time putting it down. I loved the characters and the storyline. The world that the author created was quite interesting with its guilds and magic system. Everything was so vivid and well written. This is an amazing start to a series, that I believe, will be off the charts.

Oh Dear Lord this author is trying to kill me! I can not even with her right now!
One thing I wanted more than anything after reading the first of this series was to be able to hear from James and Oh My Word I got that in this part…I can not even imagine his struggle, the back and forth that was twisting his thoughts and emotions therefore twisting mine.
Then Sarah, Oh My Heart! While reading both of these books but especially this one her feelings jumped right off the pages and planted themselves in my heart…
I felt completely exhausted after reading this yet was so so ready to jump into the next one, which for the record I DON’T HAVE YET and I seriously don’t think I will make it through the wait! All of the characters in this continuing story have completely won me over, and since I know that this is loosely based on a true story it has helped me to transport into and feel like I was present for much of the book. Rachel stands for everything I’ve always wanted in a best friend and I love watching Abby grow up, I raised 4 girls and everything between Abby and Sarah felt so real.
Not going to comment specifically on any parts of this story because this being the second part and being an ongoing story I don’t want to ruin anything from the first. I will though comment on how awesome it was to meet Garrett, again and have the background I so needed while reading his story. I now want to read that one again and will!
I need the next one NOW, my emotions are all over the place and I can feel that that isn’t going to change when I have the next in my hands. So many things are still up in the air and I can not wait to see how they all play out.

Chasing Starlight: Cassandra’s Story (The Daughters of Night Chronicles) by Matilda Reyes and Jennifer Siddoway 3 Stars
I was very excited to read this book. I loved the cover and the synopsis sounded intriguing. I was thrilled that I found a book with an original storyline. Cassandra is a dream weaver. She enters your dreams to help you then collects dream dust to send to the Fae Realm. How cool is that! She’s also the daughter of the Fae king, so far so good.
I started reading and found out that Cass has crippling anxiety, which is fine. Unfortunately this overtook the storyline. It became repetitive until it was tiresome. Almost every page was about her trying to breathe through an anxiety attack. I felt like the actual story about the creature after the dream weavers took a back seat. It was thrown in as a reminder between her attacks and her relationship with Michael.
Certain things didn’t make sense. She’s finished school, has a degree and is now working as a teacher. Therefore that would make her mid to late twenties yet when Michael kisses her gently, she runs away like a ten year old. The Fae are supposed to be a strong race yet Cass was confused and unsure of herself throughout the entire book. When the confrontation happened between the creature and Cass, it was anticlimactic. This creature was supposed to be strong and killing dream weavers yet Cass, who can barely function through a day without a panic attack, defeated him so quickly. It didn’t make sense.
This series has potential to be great. The story is original and there are seven sisters. Each one can have her own story. It can be truly amazing.

I enjoyed reading the story Forget Nico: Falling for the Wrong Italian (Italian Teens novel 1, The Italian Saga) by Gaia B Amman. It is a book that I had a hard time putting down. I enjoyed reading about the character of Leda. She is a young girl who is growing up and dealing hurt feelings, complicated friendships, and feelings for Nico. While reading this book I found myself thinking back to when I was Leda’s age and what was happening in my life. Growing up and becoming a teenager is hard. Leda finds herself unsure about what to do with her emotions and feelings for Nico. What does the future hold for them? Can she really see through his loneliness? Should she forget Nico? Read this book to find out. This story has your emotions going up and down with Leda’s. She is a character that I grew to love with each chapter that I read and found myself wanting her to find happiness. There are many additional characters that interact with Leda and I enjoyed reading about them. Many are helpful and good friends with Leda. The story Out Of The Shadows by Theresa Sederholt is a book that I found both heartbreaking and emotional. It is a story that has moments when I wondered what was going to happen next. The character of Dane Johnson has a secret that he doesn’t want anyone else to know about. Dane is a man who is trying to keep a boy safe. His story and situation is one that is not always told or a lot of attention given to. He is a man who must find the strength to reach out for help. This book has moments where I found myself with tears in my eyes and other times wondering how things were going to end up. This is a story that had a powerful effect on my emotions, and I found myself thinking about it long after I had finished. Don’t miss out on a book about strength and courage. It is a story I would recommend reading.

I loved this book! I never regret picking up one of this author’s books. They are creative, engaging and written with heart. This is a short story about Dane who has a secret that is about to come out and the emotions he goes through as he protects the most important thing in his life. He is a strong character that I felt bad for in parts and the emotional roller coaster he took me on kept me turning pages. This story can be a trigger for some as it was for me but a comfort that you are not alone in the hell you lived in. I highly recommend reading this book as it is a book of strength and healing. You won’t regret picking it up!

Chasing Starlight (The Daughter’s of night) Cassandra’s story by Jennifer Siddoway and Matilda Reyes is a 4.5 star read. Cassandra is readying herself to start her new job as a teacher, she suffers from Generalised Anxiety Disorder so things are difficult for her at the best of times but she luckily has her twin Halle to help bring her out of her anxiety attacks. Cassandra is also a daughter of the king of the fae and with that she has a special job that keeps the fae world secret, she’s a dream weaver, she collects the dream dust of people she helps but there’s danger out there for dream weavers like her from a shadow demon who wants the dream dust for itself. This book was written by new to me authors so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was very happy I got to read this story, I felt the characters were well thought out and each had their place in a well written story, I am eagerly waiting for book 2.

Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley. I love how so much was packed into this novella but it was still a smooth read. Characters are complex and well developed, you can’t help but feel a connection to them. I’m always in awe of this author because I love the well written storyline and characters that you keep thinking about well after you’ve finished reading. I love a book that takes me on a journey that keeps me on my toes and this one did just that. This may be a short read but it holds no punches and is one of my top reads for the year so far. Five stars all the way and highly recommended. I can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next.
Before the Second Show by Thia Finn a five-star read that will rock you. Rockstar romance are a hard one to get right, so I usually avoid them unless I know the author and enjoy their style already, but I took a chance on this one and I am so glad I did as this was brilliant. This was such a fast paced read for one that spans such a great length of time, but it was so well done as you get to see Emmy go from wide eyes 16 year old, to a woman in her own right, but as we all know that first major crush has a lot of miles to it, especially when the guy your with isn’t all he thinks he is. This is a stand-alone, but there are so many great characters I would love to hear more from, I will be eagerly watching this author to see if this becomes a series as I will be reading them if they do.

This is the second book in this series and it was just as good as the first! I would recommend reading these books in order because the reading experience is so much better that way! This book was good! Which I have come to expect when I pick up a book by this author I know I’m in for an awesome story. This book was well written and the creativeness and attention to detail was great. Plus the main characters are interesting and the author made me interested in seeing how their stories would play out. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with a few twists and turns and some drama thrown in. I am looking forward to reading more by this author soon and I would recommend this to anyone that likes romance! Happy Reading!View all my reviews
