All The Wrong Reasons (Serendipity Falls Novel Book 1) by Erin Bevan – Review by Karyn Taylor

All The Wrong ReasonsAll The Wrong Reasons by Erin Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All The Wrong Reasons is the first book in the Serendipity Falls series by Erin Bevan. I’m a total sucker for a good friends-to-lovers book so took a leap of faith to try a new author to me, in reading this book. All I can say is that I made a great choice in reading this. I loved Alex and Max’s story so much.
Alex is a teacher in a Christian school with very strict rules and regulations so when she gets pregnant having a one night stand to try to get over the break-up of her 5 year relationship, she’s scared as to what her future holds.
Alex’s best friend since they were 8 years old is Max. Max was a very poor child with a hard childhood who has worked his way up to being a very wealthy businessman who wants to go into politics. What he needs is to show that he’s a good family man. So he asks Alex to marry him. It’s the answer to all their problems, or is it?
I loved this book so much. The dynamic between Alex and Max is amazing. They are both so devoted to each other (as best friends). Can they make that dynamic work as a married couple? Well. I’m not going to answer that and give any spoilers but what I will say is that this is a wonderful story with a lot of angst and many twists and turns that keep you gripped to the story and not knowing what way the author is going to take you.
Definitely recommend and can’t wait to read more of this series.

Aberration (Aberration Series Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen – Review by Liz Vrchota

AberrationAberration by Rebecca E McEwen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was a fan of Valkyrie’s first novel so when I saw this one and that Rebecca McEwen had teamed up with her to pen this newest fantasy novel I just knew it was a must read for myself. I love the dark undertones that keep me feeling like I am reading a suspense novel as well as a fantasy. That is an undertone that made me love the first book she put out and this was ever present in this one as well so I was happy. I love the characters and how strong and they each stand out, you can almost feel as if they are real people that you could search out. The main character, Anyanka was fun and fierce I look forward to reading more of her story in the coming novels and I will totally be there for it. I can’t wait to see where this fast paced adventure will go next!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rise by Via Mari a five-star read that will rise above. This is number two in the Larussio Legacy and I would wholeheartedly read them in order as the sparks they just keep rising until they feel like they may just become as explosive as fireworks. This one is a must read, you must set everything aside and focus on reading as you will forget everything else exists as this is thrilling, and action packed, full of drama and just a powerful read. The chemistry is just palpable, and the pace of the novel is so well done, you don’t feel like its rushed or patchy it just flows and builds and creates a volcano of emotion.

All The Wrong ReasonsAll The Wrong Reasons by Erin Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my goodness! I absolutely loved this book, one of my favorite tropes is friends to lovers and this book did that total justice.
Friends since they were little, Alex and Max are close and when Alex gets into a big problem, Max is there to help. But with that comes some muddy water with feelings coming into play that may have been pushed to the side.
I really did love this story and the journey it took. Very realistic and could see being in this story with them. Cant wait for more by this author!

Ok, it’s been awhile since i read the first book, but i was able to jump right back into the series. I really really loved this book, and the way the story unfolded kept me hooked until the end. The twists, turns, and just everything made the story what it was.
Owen and Genevieve, how do you describe them without making them sound awful lol, it was like cats and dogs or cats and water, love/hate would work too but its unique.

I honestly dont want to ramble on about this as the story as a whole is best read that way. Read book one, Who, first so you have background info and the story before this one.
Cannot wait for the next book.

Anger (Hero High, #2)Anger by Mina Chara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Anger by Mina Chara a five-star read that won’t leave you angry. This is number two in the Hero High series and the setting of Icon city is well done, it suits the type of story and the characters well. This is the story of Friday Fitzsimmons and her second year of Hero high; she just gets more of a sublime character, watching her struggle with fitting in and anxiety, just makes the daily struggle a little easier knowing that others face it as well. This story will take your breath away, you will be kept guessing all the way through, my heart was pounding so hard at one point I didn’t realise how long I had held my breath, but I was so swept up in the story I couldn’t stop myself.

This is the first time I’ve read a book by either authors. This is a book about a teenage girl who discovers she is different and can’t be caught by anyone. Anya’s story has a lot of action, twists and turns and events that keep you turning the page. It was the only story like this I’ve ever read. Meaning in this genre, it stands out. I’m curious to see where the next installment of this story takes us and how they’re going to keep up with the same level as the first book. I’m excited to find out. It’s a good read, and short enough to finish in a day for an avid reader.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Southern Promises : The Complete Series, by K.G. Fletcher.
This series had me from page one of the first book.
Book 1: Georgia Clay
Katie Parker has always put her career first. So when she attends her ten year reunion, the last thing she ever expected was to end up in the back of Clay Watkins pick up truck. Clay always had the biggest crush on Katie and figured their reunion was the perfect time to pursue her. Will they be able to have a long distance relationship when Clay’s performing career takes a flying leap or are they going to end before they even get the real chance to begin?
Book 2: Georgia on My Mind
Hart is back home living in his sisters house after losing his job in DC, when he was caught in a compromising position.
Gia Bates is struggling to survive and keep her dance studio above water. She is working anonymously as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator when she meets Hart. When he saves her after the party from a handsy guy, he knows that he needs to see and know more about her. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their path or will they be torn apart by those obstacles?
Book 3: Georgia Pine
We briefly met Jessica in book two and my heart broke for her, I was so glad to read her story and watch her find her happiness. Meeting and falling in love with Tim, was just the icing on the cake!!
Tim is definitely not who everyone thinks he is, but that just makes the story better. The chemistry between Jessica and Tim from the first time they saw each other was amazing, seeing how he treated and fell in love with her girls was the sweetest thing ever!!!
I absolutely loved this entire series and I only wish there was more!!!

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham – Review by Lisa Helmick

Why (Stalker Series, #2)Why by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was glued to my kindle reading this book. It started off interesting and then became slow. Too much interest in the case. Then once the Detective started getting more involved (his times kept me riveted) it picked back up. Then it became a “hold onto your hat” wild crazy ride until the end.

The main characters were good and their connection to each other is like dogs and cats. I struggled to put the book down when they had their verbal sparring. Sparks seemed to fly! I really enjoyed Owen! He is so much more than I expected. His drive to get her is amazing! I wasn’t such a fan of the big bad lawyer(Genevieve) persona. When push comes to shove and it seemed to often…she flailed. She became a simpering woman. I got the impression she was a “take no crap” bada$$ lady but she seems to be that way in the courtroom only. She does have a wicked mouth on her and is able to spew some great comebacks to other characters.

My other issue is the time for the injuries to heal (seems non-existent) before either more are inflicted or a sexual escapade. Just seemed weird she wasn’t ever in pain past the next afternoon. I think I had this problem in the first book as well.

Overall it’s a story that gets better the further I read it. It took me into the wee hours of the morning because that ending…Whew! Totally worth it! I do recommend this book and I look forward to the next.

I have to tell you that my favorite thing about this book was that it is a good clean Romance. In releasing her power within (Fae Shifters Book 1) by Madilynn Dale, we have a good little tale about Shifters with the added twist of the Fae mixed in. By the time you get to the core of the story you’re very well acquainted with the characters and the world they live in. Book one will certainly give you an appetite for book 2.

Why (Stalker Series Book 2)Why by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham was a great 5 star read.

The story starts with Genevieve representing her mentor and boss in court. He is being accused of killing his family, a family that she has known personally. She gets a lot of heat representing him but she ends up winning the case.

There is also a detective that has gotten her attention following the case. He was on the other side and had warned her that she was representing a killer. You could feel their attraction coming off the pages. When Perry starts to act differently she starts to watch him closer. This is when she runs into the detective once again.

Could Perry be guilty? What will she find out?
And, will Genevieve and the hot detective get together for more than a conversation?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to figure things out right along with Genevieve. All the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I really like the friends that she has, they are very supportive of her. If you are looking for a great thrilling read, this is the series for you. Each book can be read as a stand alone. 1-click and get started today.

This is such a sweet romance. This is the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I have a new one to add to my must read collection. This story is about Alex and Max who have been best friends for a very long time. They find that each of them seem to be in a predicament and their solution is to get married. Alex has found herself pregnant from a one night stand and her job may be in jeopardy. Max is a business owner running for a political office and he needs to fix his playboy reputation. I found myself rooting for these two because they both deserve love and happiness. This book was very well written, I was drawn in and loved the characters. I highly recommend this book.

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham is a Psychological thriller at its best. It will keep you on the edge of your seat from the start to the end and will have your heart pumping. Megan is one of those writers that gets inside your head and makes you think is this real or what is hiding in the shadows or where is she taking me. I was constantly on my toes and I felt like I had run a marathon by the time I had finished. Even though you don’t have to, I would read the books in order. If ever there should be a movie made these books would be in the running. Megan’s words pop of the page and the psychological aspect is palpable and so, so vivid. This novel by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca E. McEwen was very good. I enjoy shifter novels and this one grabbed my interest because it was different from normal shifter novels in a way that was unique. The story is about Anyanka and her friends, shifters with a bit of a twist. The story follows them as they explore how they came about and what their existence means for the future and humanity in general. Aberration included some mystery and suspense making it a really good read. This novel by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca E. McEwen ended with a cliffhanger which was interesting. I look forward to continuing the journey with Anyanka and her friends as they continue to unravel the mystery surrounding their kind and what the future will hold for them.

Rise (The Larussio Legacy Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

Rise (The Larussio Legacy, #2)Rise by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rise is the 2nd book in the Larussio Legacy series by Via Mari and follows straight on where book 1 left. These books need to be read as a series and not as a standalone. Over the last year I have become a huge fan of Via Mari’s writing and I was so excited to see what was in store next for Gio and Serena.
Let’s just say that Via Mari has written another cracker. Rule is action packed and had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. You are not lead into the story slowly as it’s continued on from the previous book and the high paced action starts straight away in the very first pages.
I already adored Gio and Serena from the first book but fell even more for this couple when reading this one. Hard-nosed mafia man Gio has such an amazing other side of his character. His adoration for Serena and his willingness to do anything for her and her beloved Nonna is totally heartwarming.
I love the superfast pace of Via Mari’s book’s and this one flowed seamlessly from scene to scene with fantastic, very well written characters that you can’t help but fall for. This book has so much danger, intrigue, action, suspense and HOT romance that you will be glued to it from the very first page, right to the very last one.
This series is a MUST read!
