Why is book two in Megan Mitcham’s ‘Stalker series’ but can be read as a standalone story. It is a suspenseful courtroom thriller. Prosecutor Genevieve Holst loves the thrill of putting the bad guys behind bars and she owes her undefeated court record to her boss and mentor, Perry. Genevieve is shocked when Perry is accused of murdering his wife and children and straightaway works at defending him in court. Her undefeated record continues and Perry is found not guilty however Genevieve begins to wonder is she was right to believe in Perry as his behaviour becomes more and more suspicious. Guilt ridden at the thought she may have ensured a killer went free she begins her own investigation, by following her mentor and in the process runs into the NYPD Detective Owen Graham who told her not to take the case. Genevieve must decide between saving her career and letting an almost-certain killer go free or risk everything to bring Perry to justice. I loved this psychology thriller which had plenty of suspense and as the blurb says, it really is an “ edge-of-your seat thrill ride”. I found Genevieve a perfect leading character, she is a strong, sassy and tenacious heroine who is likeable and realistic. I found the drama of the courtroom parts gripping and I liked the hint of romance with Owen as well. I found this to be an exciting read with a great fast paced storyline which kept me hooked from page one until the very last page. I look forward to further books in this ‘Stalker’ series.

Seventeen year old Anyanka Truman, is in self-imposed exiles day has been for two years now as she is what is known as, an aberration. Hiding from those who would use her as a lab rat, Anyanka is used to being on her own. I found this was an exciting read, and the storyline was fast paced and flowed well, it had me hooked from page one. The story had some wonderful characters and I felt immersed in their world.

Why by Megan Mitcham is the second book in the Stalker Series. This is a great series because they do not have to be read consecutively. Prosecutor Genevieve Holst is a successful attorney and has gotten into an awkward case of having to defend her mentor, Perry. Was it a wise decision to make the move to the other side and defend Perry? Things are not adding up and she has to find out why. I like these books because they are suspenseful and smartly thought out. Genevieve is a smart and interesting character. She has a lot to deal with because she is trying to figure out if she just saved a guilty man who also happens to be close to her. This has a great storyline and the story reads quickly. I really like the flow and did not want to put the book down. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

If you are looking for a book with twists and turns, with a healthy injection of intrigue and thrilling story this is the book for you.
Genevieve is a brash, full powered character who at first you may not warm to but I really enjoyed the character greatly she knew what she wanted and goes for it. Until she has a dilemma when her boss is arrested for the murder of his wife and family. Gen decides to defend him but as she delves more into the evidence and his story something is just not quite right and she has a feeling that he may have committed the horrendous crime. So she asks her “friend” Detective Owen Graham to help investigate but will their relationship cloud the murky water already stirred up in this mystery.
Why by Megan Mitcham is the second in the Stalker series but is a stand alone story and what a read it is. I enjoyed the interaction of all the characters, the build of tension just pulls you into book and has you griped until the end. The characters are rich and well written, I really enjoyed this series and can not wait for the next book in this series. If you have not read a Megan Mitcham book then download it now you will not be disappointed.

Testament Of Feats: Book Of Sorrows. Having really enjoyed the first book in this series I was so excited to get the second, it did not let me down. The story continues where book one finishes, I would recommend reading them in order. K.H Jones is such a talented author, he creates worlds I’ve never even dreamed of and somehow makes you feel as if you are right there in the thick of it. Absolutely brilliant. Another great addition to a new series I would highly recommend.

5 Stars
I had a little issue with the first of this series as it felt like I stumbled through the words while trying to read to my grandsons. This one was so much better, the flow worked perfectly and I was actually asked to read it again. So big thumbs up from the littles.
This story had a great message and I just love the activities that come along with it. The boys really enjoyed this part and came up with all kinds of ideas I hadn’t even thought of. That was awesome!
I do recommend both books in this series, the first was still a great story and they both make the kids look beyond the growling dog and really seem to understand the messages.

This is my second book by this author and I think I liked this one even more than the first, this is one of my chosen genres and I get so immersed in the story that I lose all track of time. I loved the suspense and danger that was a part of this story, and you could actually read this as a standalone but the first one gave a lot that helps understand parts of this story.
I Love Gen…she is strong and holds a position of power, and when her and Owen Teamed up it brought the story to a whole new level…. When someone you trust all of a sudden becomes someone you don’t know, it’s time to figure things out. This is when the story pulls in the fear and danger, twists, turns, and sitting on the edge of my seat…I read this literally in one sitting, I could not put it down and truly did not want it to end.
I loved Gen’s friends..that whole group was awesome and their bonds were tight and I love that in a novel!
I can not wait for the next in this series and I also can not wait to read all of these back to back all over again! This author is amazing and her stories are spot on!

Southern Promises: The Complete Series: (A Contemporary Romance Standalone Box Set)
Georgia Clay is the first book in the Southern Promises series. I managed to read this book in an afternoon because I couldn’t put it down.
Katie had no idea what would happen to her when she agreed to go to her ten year high school reunion. I think we all have that one person from our youth that we play the what if game with. I know I do, and even after all of these years I still think of John from time to time.
Clay is sigh worthy. I’m a sucker for the southern accent and I could just imagine his sexy drawl while reading.
Georgia on My Mind is the second book and I think I liked it a bit more than the first. There was just something about Gia and Hart that drew me in from the very start.
Hart was an immature playboy who to me acted like the world owed him. Thankfully he gets taught a very important lesson and finally decides to grow up and be the man his parents raised him to be.
Gia’s back story just made me sad. She has been through so much and she was busting her tail to hold on to the happy part of her childhood.
Georgia Pine is the third book. I loved this book. There was something amazingly sweet and special about Jessica and Tim’s story.
I got tired reading this book and how Jessica kept up with four little girls aged six and younger. I was a single Mom with just one daughter and she wore me out couldn’t imagine having four daughters.
Tim reminded me a little of my husband, he jumped in and was instantly part of the family. It takes a special man to get involved with a single Mom and Tim was just that.
I hope we see more books in this series. I’m not ready to let this group go.

Via Mari is one of those authors that you will pick up any one of her books and just know it is going to be a good one. This story has all the great elements to keep you on the edge of your seat. There is drama, action, danger, spice, and of course romance and suspense. I highly recommend reading the first book Rise. It will give you the background information to enjoy this book even more. The characters are engaging and I could feel myself as if I was a fly one the wall. I highly recommend this series. It will get your heart pumping and you will not be able to put it down once you have started.

This is not my first book by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca McEwen and it will not be my last. This story is a unique story and it is very intriguing. The character development makes this story soar. I felt a connection with Anyanka Truman. She is a fiery woman who knows what she needs to survive. Her world was turned upside down when she finds out that she is an aberration. She is protecting herself from the outside world but her secret gets out. There are many twists and turns in this story. Will Ananka be able to get through everything that is going on? Will she be able to trust others? I highly recommend this story.

Aberration (Aberration Series Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen
5 ++++++ Stars
I don’t know if I can explain why I loved this book so much. Maybe it was the unique storyline, and maybe it was the way the words flowed and I didnt want it to end, and it might have also been that there was none of the added fluff you get with some stories and every word mattered, and it also could have been because I don’t read these types of books normally but these authors had me hook line and sinker from the first page.
There was quite a bit going on throughout and there were a lot of moving parts in this book, which I also loved. I was so glad we got different POV’s throughout, I only wish there had been just one more. Would have loved knowing what was going through that mind.
I never even guessed where this book was going. I was actually on a whole different path until that path got completely blocked and these authors proved why they are the writers and I’m just a reader. I loved all of the characters and how they each had their little quirks, and I can not wait for more. That ending had me hitting my kindle saying “turn the page dang it”…I then spent about 15 minutes trying to find info on the next one, because I NEED IT NOW!!
This was just an all around awesome read. I read it in one sitting and may even read it again before the next one comes out!!

I give Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham
The second book in the series, this book switches focus to Genevieve, the prosecutor who defended her good friend and boss against the murder of his family. Then she begins to doubt his innocence. What is great about this book, is that you see her go from being this strong female New York attorney to questioning everything and everyone she’s ever know. She lets us in this way. This makes her endearing. Honestly, she is not someone I probably would associate with in the beginning of the book. It’s just not my style. But the more she questions, the more human and likable she becomes. Although you never once question her group of friends and what they mean to each other – that is obvious. Then there is the story itself. The deeper she goes to try to find the answers, the more trouble she finds herself in. And the more she has to learn to trust others — something she hasn’t done in ages.
The story is gripping and exciting, there is a flare of these two characters who may feel something, but she has to give a little. Overall, this is a good, gripping romantic suspense and I would recommend this book. It can be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading them all since they are so well done.

I give Aberration by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen, 5 stars.
This book was amazing!!! What these characters are is something completely new to me, which is rare and exciting in the supernatural book world. At the same time, it has the feel of being based on old world legends/beliefs. I really like how the authors took this and modernized it, making it feel of both worlds at the same time. The characters themselves are great too. They feel real, with real problems. I cannot wait to see how each of the characters evolves as the series goes on.
This is a great book to introduce us to a new world and series and I eagerly await the next book, plus hope there will be many to come! The characters are teenagers, but it is also a wonderful read for adults too — it does not alienate the adults like some teenage books tend to do. I highly recommend this book for all ages young adult and higher.

Georgia Clay, Georgia on My Mind, Georgia Pine – each of these books is phenomenal. They standalone easily but have characters that do make appearances across books. I promise once you read one you will want to read them all. This box set is the perfect answer. I read all of these books in one sitting and can’t say enough about Fletcher’s writing style. Wow what a riveting story!! I thoroughly enjoyed every nail biting moment. Gen, a very successful attorney has just defended her friend, boss, and mentor of murder charges. Right after he is set free is where things start to take a more interesting turn. Gen is starting to doubt the man she defended. The author did an excellent job of putting me through a psychological roller coaster that I just couldn’t get enough of. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, it was full of mystery, twists and turns, danger, suspense, some romance and more. I feel like I am not able to find the right words to give this book justice. I will say this, I stood up all night reading this because I could not put it down!! This is a must read!! The second book in the Stalker Series by Megan Mitcham, Why has played out to be the best so far! I truly loved it. It was quite suspenseful and enthralling. Genevieve Holst is one the cities best women attorneys. This time she is defending her good friend and boss Perry, which she is still figuring out how she is able to. He is charged with murdering his wife and family. She ends up works together with Detective Owen Graham who basically sets her world on fire! She doesn’t know what to do with him! But after the trial is when things start to get a little bit scary and a little bit creepy. Perry, her boss, starts to become a different person and starts to show a different side of him that Gen has never seen. This is definitely a psyche thriller that has you on the edge of your seat and a romance novel that has you fanning yourself. This is a serious rollercoaster of emotions that you never know what is coming next but you know for sure that whatever is coming is going to be good because this book doesn’t disappoint. Just like normal, I would definitely read the first novel so you can understand where the main character is coming from. Kudos Ms. Mitcham for a spectacular second book!

Aberration is the first book in the Aberration series by Naomi Valkyrie and Rebecca E. McEwen. It’s a mix of fantasy, paranormal, drama, action, danger, romance, and emotion. The story is told from multiple POV’s which really gave me a great perspective of everything that was happening. The story is fast paced and easy to read. There is a lot going on, but the authors have choreographed everything into a smooth, quick, and easy read. It definitely kept me engaged the whole way through. Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham is the second book that i have read by this author and i thought it was really really good. I couldn’t put this book down because it pulled me in from the very first page and didn’t let me go until the very end. Suspenseful, Mysterious and Violent, this crime novel kept me on my toes in suspense. This one was about Genevieve “Gen” Holst. She is a prosecuting attorney who wants to make up for a terrible thing that happened to her sister. Gen thinks she doing the right thing by defending her boss in court for the murder of his wife and children. His behavior, both past and present are unexpected for the situation and she begins to see the case(and him) in a new way. I was on the edge of my seat and i enjoyed every minute of this book. All The Wrong Reasons is a small town romance of friends to lovers by Erin Bevan that is also an opening act of her new Serendipity Falls series. It is my first read by this writer and I can promise you, it will not be last. I love small town America and the stories that feel so close that you start thinking of packing up and moving into one yourself! All The Wrong Reasons gives us Alexandra Mills, a Christian School teacher who gets pregnant after a one night stand, and Max Buchanan who is a local political figure and self-made businessman who needs to demonstrate that he has put his playboy ways behind him. As we can see, both of them seem to have a problem that seems almost too big to conquer except with one very simple solution – marriage of convenience … especially considering they have been friends for eeever and would do almost anything for a friend so now they are tested to their limits … add to this the way how the writer takes us into the heads of our two characters, the other small town quirky inhabitants and you will want to join us on this crazy ride!

Descendants of Time and Death (The Gods’ Scion Book 2) by Winnifred Tataw was an interesting read. I enjoyed the premise of the story but had trouble settling into it in the beginning but it soon picked up. The story didn’t flow as seamlessly as I would have liked but that aside it is an intriguing story. Winnifred certainly has the creativeness and the story is full of lies and heartache, hatred and fear, action and drama, broken dreams and promises, greed and war. I enjoyed the main characters and the world Winnifred has created and the uniqueness of it all.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and I should have started with the first book but did not realise that it was the second book until after I had started. I look forward to going back to the first book and continuing on from here.

Rise (The Larussio Legacy Book 2) by Via Mari. Via Mari has become one of my favorite authors so when I see her name I just automatically know I’m reading it. I love the Mafia books and how ruthless and competitive they are. This book is no exception. Its the story of Giovanni Larussio, the Don of the most powerful Crime family in Italy. His family is known for their ruthless crushing of their enemies. He has now found himself in charge of the largest Casino in Las Vegas where he falls in love with Serena Moretti who is the family’s sworn enemy. Serena’s family has suffered years of hardship and oppression from the Larussio’s over the years and she is determined its stopping with her, but why does she lose all self control around Gio? He’s sexy as all get out and she wonders if they wouldn’t make a powerful duo. Will Gio risk losing everything to save Serena? Will Serena let down her guard long enough to fall for Gio? Read Rise you will be so glad you did

Anger by Mina Chara is the second book in the Hero High series. This is a fun YA book which many can enjoy. The story picks up where the first book left off. I enjoyed this because it is not only a quick read but it is full of story, character, and world building. This is a read which flows well and I didn’t want to put it down. Figure in the Flames and the copycat Dr Dangerous are back causing problems and Captain Fantastic might become a mentor. The problem is who can she trust. It seems there is someone out to make her fall. I really am enjoying the continuing story and look forward to more in this series.

Releasing Her Power Within by Madilynn Dale is the first book in the Fae Shifters series. This is a well written book that has a great pace throughout it. This is a new author for me and I found that she had a writing style that was easy to take to. The book was well developed, it start out slow and gained momentum as the story went on. The characters were relatable. Liz was the perfect character for you to get behind. The overall story was enjoyable. It was easy to read, exciting in all the right places and knew when to push you forward. I definitely liked this book and I am looking forward to seeing what might be next.

Midnight in the House of Lang by Bree M Lewandowski was a great read. I wasn’t sure about this book at first, but I am glad that I took the chance. I became hooked after the first 2 chapters as I was intrigued by the authors world building that was set up so unique. The story is set in the future specifically in 3034 in Imperial Vienna. Thea who is the beloved granddaughter of the emperor and her brother have fled their home for their safety and aren’t sure when or if they will return. The characters truly bring this story to life. I am so glad that I took a chance and cant wait to read more by this author.

This continues a wonderful romantic comedy series. Each of the stories has strong, funny characters. The stories stand alone, and if only it were summer, they’d be the perfect beach read. The storylines are smooth and uncomplicated, making for an easy read. A bit of sweet romance.

This is the second book in the Stalker Series but it can be a standalone novel. I highly recommend the first book as well. Megan Mitcham draws the reader right into her stories. With her characters who you can relate to and her story line that keeps you on the edge of your seat it will hook you from the first sentence until the last sentence. Being that this is a psychological novel you would expect some curves in the story, but man there were times I did not see the curve coming. It is a fast read but make sure you do not read too fast and miss the clues to see what will happen next. I highly recommend this book. Megan Mitcham is an author to watch.
