“From out of mist are wild things born.
Seek the truth beyond the thorn.
Where curses lurk and kin reside,
Fox and fire stem the tide.”

“Do you have faith in magic?” he asked.
My heart pounded in my chest. I fingered the rose quartz pendant with my rain-soaked, sweaty fingers. “I…” I stammered but pressed on. “Of all the things in my life, magic is the one constant.” There. I admitted it. Out loud. First time ever.
His outstretched hand waited….

Tangled Fates is the second book in the Tangled Magic series by Denise D. Young. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Young, so I really didn’t know what to expect going in. I was drawn to the book by the beautiful cover and intriguing blurb. But Ms. Young had me hooked at the mention of witch and fox shifter.
I love a great paranormal story- and this book definitely cast its spell over me. Even though it is the second book in the series, that wasn’t a problem as I was able to follow the story easily. But, as the events from book one seem to have caused far reaching issues and had led to the events in this book, so I will definitely be going back to read the first book to see where everything started.
This book follows different leading characters than in the first book. We meet Vivienne (Vi) who is a fire witch, and Aiden McPherson who is a fox-shifter. They lead us on an adventure filled with magic, potions, curses, small town charm, prophecy/mystical riddles, different realms, portals, secrets, sparks/chemistry, evil, danger, drama, paranormal events and characters, romance, and more.
This is a fast-paced short story which made it a very quick and easy read. It kept me engaged the whole way through, and intrigued me into wanting to know more about the Tangled Magic world. I will definitely be following the rest of the series!

Thank you, Denise D. Young!
