My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this anthology of short stories by a variety of well known authors covering multi-genres. All the stories are based on feisty heroines and the storylines are either, paranormal, fantasy, historical or contemporary romance. The Feisty Heroines collection will “whet your appetite with titillating, heart-pounding tales you’ll want to dive into again and again”. There are over thirty stories to capture your heart and make your pulse race, according to the blurb and it’s right. The common theme throughout the book is that it’s the feisty women who steal the show. Although the men are handsome and sometimes ruthless they are definitely ‘alpha males’, but it’s the females who are the heroines of the stories. The storylines are set in a variety of places from, the streets of bustling city’s, to ancient English castles, to far away places and mystical lands.

The women who are all independent, tough, feisty, often stubborn and very seductive come into their men’s worlds and turn them upside down whilst carrying out their missions to right any wrongs they have suffered. The men in the stories have to be strong willed enough to coax the softer side of our heroines out but sometimes these ladies are just too hot to handle. The storylines and characters in all these short stories are amazing and the book kept me reading well into the night. There is plenty of romance, chemistry which sizzles of the page and plenty of steamy scenes. The wonderful world building made me feel immersed in which ever story I was reading and although they are short stories they are all complete stories and packed full.

Good Bones, a contemporary romance by Maggie Adams was one of a few which really stood out for her amazing characters and a storyline which had me hooked from the start. Paranormal/fantasy romance, ‘With His Life’ by Theresa Hissong, which is a ‘A Rise of the Pride’ short story and Lane McFarland’s historical romance, ‘To Rescue My Princess’ were also particular favourites. However I thoroughly enjoyed all the stories in this Anthology of ‘Feisty Heroines’, and I recommend this book as a great read which has also introduced me to many new fantastic authors, who’s books I now look forward to discovering.
