Stepbrother (Step Dilemma Series Book 1) by Stacy McWilliams – Review by Lisa Helmick

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

So this isn’t what I expected by a long shot. I was looking for romance and this doesn’t really have that. The story was difficult to read because the characters irritated me. Many times i just wanted to put the book down. These family dynamics in here are tough and I lean towards stronger characters with a little backbone. The writing was good and easily drew me in (like a car crash) and kept my interest. The characters are a nightmare. Too many times I just wanted to smack some sense into them. There isn’t one to like and Just when I thought I did find one, that person did something horrible and I am back to square one.

I have VERY strong feelings towards this book. I have a dislike/hate relationship with the characters. I almost wish Cooper was written as little stronger (overall) and maybe softer towards Bailey. That might make him more palatable. Then maybe I could root for him. I just didn’t understand his whole hate/love demeanor all the time towards Bailey.

This is kind of a soft ending. Meaning if the reader is happy with the ending. Great But if not there is more in the next book.
