My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Confidentiality is the second book in the Scope of Practice series. You need to read the first book in order to get the full picture of what is happening in book two.

In the first book, I related to some of the main character’s attributes, but there is a side of her that I don’t relate to so much. That part of her life started in book one but is further explored in book two as things start spiraling. I found myself wondering how I could relate to a character’s personal attributes so much, but not align with her actions, even though I understand her motivation for it initially. The author has done a great job of layering the main character to give her complexity.

I enjoyed the anti-hero aspects of the story as well. Even though I had it figured out pretty quickly, I thought the choice was interesting.

Overall, this was a great continuation of the first part of the story in book one. As with book one, sensitive readers should note that there are potential triggers in this story.
