Pharaoh's Forgery (Karina Cardinal Mystery Book 4)Pharaoh’s Forgery by Ellen Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Butler continues to up the ante with each Karina Cardinal mystery. And I believe this has been my favorite to date. Slammed full of intrigue and mystery, I simply couldn’t put this book done until I finished the last page. I love the way Butler develops each story and the detail each book contains. Each work is complete and can stand on its own easily. However for the character development and certain histories, you best appreciate the storyline when taken in series total. Loved this book and seriously hope another will be in my hands soon!

I loved this book! This series continues to just improve. Second books in a series in general are bridges between the first and third. They don’t usually stand well on their own or surpass the original. I might have to say that I’m glad to find this is an exception to that generalization. Extremely well written, I am fascinated by the continued character development of the twins and this paranormal universe. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and series and am seriously on pins and needles waiting for the next installment.

Another winner from Chara. I love this series and this next collection is a must own if you’ve enjoyed any of the other installments. This storyline is a bit darker than its predecessors but in a way that fits the character development and overall story arc. I have really enjoyed getting to know Friday and following her throughout each book. This is a series worthy of owning in total. Once you start one you will want the rest.

John the Baptist: As His Soul RemembersJohn the Baptist: As His Soul Remembers by Stuart P. Ledwith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ledwith has a very unique way of storytelling and I was intrigued to see this subject coming from him. It was well written and respectful of the underlining subject it was based upon. Some theologians will likely find fault with much of the subject matter at hand. However if treated as a fictionalized dramatization, it is an interesting take on a piece of Christian history. Ledwith is a gifted storyteller and certainly keeps my interest in each story. I look forward to seeing what he writes next.

If you like a good mystery with plenty of meat to sink your teeth into, you will love this book. The author does a fantastic job setting up the story and then helping fill in the blanks in a very thoughtful way. I appreciated how she developed the storyline and allowed the character to become a complete tangible person. I kept reading wanting to find out what exactly happened and why. It really was just extremely well written. I hope to read more from this author soon.

Hero High: Heartbreak Rebellion (Hero High Collections Book 2) by Mina Chara was kind of a slow start for me, but once I got to the halfway point it was really fast paced. Friday is just a young girl and doesn’t really know how she is supposed to feel about things. She has just reached the threshold of adulthood and she is trying to figure it all out. I did catch myself once or twice wanting to just grab hold of her and shake her real good. It’s a good little story with a little unique twist on the whole superhero/villain narrative. I think you might like it, I did.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

These adventures are books 4-6 in the Hero High Collections. One should read books 1-3 to get the meaning behind these books. The books are full of action and romance. The characters are fully developed and well written for these adventures. The story’s main character Friday is back. She makes these stories so real. She has a high adventurous soul that makes the story move faster. The stories are based in a high school/tv series. Fridays have adventures which include action, mysteries, and danger around every corner. Being that this is a YA book there is a little romance mixed into the stories Can Friday keep going or will she give up? I highly recommend this collection.

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind. This is the third book of the kissed by fate series. You can read this book as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I love a good young adult book but this author always exceeds my expectations. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately and I couldn’t put it down until the end. It only took me a day to devour this incredible book.

Accepted (Rhodes Family Book 2) by Lisa Wood – Review by Rosanna Ingram

AcceptedAccepted by Lisa Wood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We are first introduced to Ava in the first book in this series…and her story is definitely one that should be read. Ava’s friendship with her two best guy friends has been transforming into something more for years. After a night filled with liquid courage, Ava gets to live out her fantasy with her guys. The aftermath, however, is heartbreaking and eye-opening.
Hunter takes off, leaving Ava and Thomas behind to mend what’s left of their broken hearts. When Hunter comes back, years later, to make things right between the three of them…is it too little too late? And what happens when their insecurities from their first encounter threaten to end things before they can really get going again? (Hint: You have to read it to find out!)
This is a beautifully written story that is realistic and super hot! I mean put your kindle down and look around to make sure no one else can see the sexiness on your screen! I found myself immersed in Ava’s story and am left wanting more of her and her guys. Can’t wait to see what is next for this series!

The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams – Review by Michelle Austin

The Dating ItineraryThe Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Dating Itinerary by Brooke Williams was a good 4 star read.

We meet Penny and Geo (George) in this story, they are both journalists. These two have a complicated past. When Penny gets a new assignment things take an interesting twist. She has to try a bunch of different dating strategies to see which one is the most successful. What she didn’t anticipate is that Geo has the same assignment.

Overall this was a fun read, seeing all the dating options these two went through and the connection that was building between them. There are some LOL moments. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. This is a quick read that will pull you right in. 1-click and get started today.

I’ve been reading (and enjoying) a lot of books outside of my normal genre as of late. This was a great read and a bit more of what I gravitate toward.
This was my first book I have read by this author and much to my pleasant surprise, a first in a series.
This is one of those books that has characters that you find yourself growing attached to. I found myself intrigued from start to finish as a Dead Man Speaks has elements of a good mystery/thriller. The idea of the victim taking part in solving his own murder is fantastic to me! While there is an obvious paranormal element to the story, I never felt like the author was reaching or that the twists and turns were over the top. I wholeheartedly recommend this book and look forward to reading more by Lisa Jones Gentry.

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series Book 9) by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Melissa Agena

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series #9)Rock Star on the Verge by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 9 in the Rogue Series, Rock Star on the Verge by Lara Ward Cosio was simply an amazing adventure! I truly love this series and the depths that it goes to. This is not your typical “rock star” book. This story follow’s Donal, a 17 year old on the verge of turning 18 that has no care in the world except going to clubs and his following on Instagram. He wants to be a musician but doesn’t want to put the effort into it. Donal is also Martin Wheeler’s of Rogue’s son. Conor, the guitarist of Rogue is on a downward spiral of depression. Having just lost his father, he doesn’t have any enjoyment out of life anymore. So what do they do? Go on a motorbike trip from Ireland to Spain so that Donal can finally meet his girl and to find a sense of adventure. It will also help Conor do a bit of healing too. It was a really good book, as I couldn’t put it down! There are so many elements and emotions to this book it made you connect with it on a different level. I can’t say enough about this book and this series. I would definitely read the books from the beginning so you can have a background to place it all. However, I’m sure you get away with reading this by itself though. I can’t wait to read the next one to see where Donal’s career as a musician has taken him!

Rock Star on the Verge (Rogue Series Book 9)
by Lara Ward Cosio

I have loved the Rogue series since I read the first book and this one is no different. In this book we get to watch Donal and Conor figure some things out. Donal Whelan is the son of Martin Whelan, a member of Rogue. Conor, Donal’s godfather has been depressed since his father passed away. These two end up on a road trip, they both discover new things about themselves and each other. This book is so well written, you can feel the emotions jumping off the pages. I was happy to see all the old characters we know and love in this book as well. This book can be read as a standalone but it is my suggestion that you read all of the books in this series so you have more back story of the characters and because they are all really great books! I can never get enough of this series and I hope it never ends. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this story, but I will say that this is a must read! I highly recommend this book.

I loved reading the book Tidal Love by KM Lowe. It is a beautiful romantic story that touched my heart and had me hooked from the beginning. I loved the characters of Harleigh Harrison and Giovani Russi. Harleigh is a strong and intelligent woman. She has a past that she is trying to overcome. Trying to move forward is what brings her to Bulgaria and in meeting Giovani. Giovani is a successful businessman. He also has a past that has shaped his current life. Then he meets Harleigh. The chemistry between them is off the charts. They both discover feelings that they have not had in a long time. With their past still in the minds will they take a chance with each other? Will they get a HEA? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time. I grew to care about Harleigh and Giovani with each chapter that I read. I enjoyed reading about the bantering that goes back and forth between them. I also enjoyed reading about other additional characters that interacted and cared about Harleigh and Giovani. The book also has some very romantic scenes that will make the temperature in the room rise. The author has an amazing way of making the story and characters come alive on the pages. Don’t miss out on a romantic and entertaining story that you won’t want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

This one isn’t as light hearted and hero-ey as the last ones. In here we get into the nitty gritty of the show and the school. I am saddened it has lost its flair for fun times. This one seems more serious. The characters are mostly the same with a couple added in.

While it the ending to the story I think it focuses too much on messages and the story gets lost in the mix.

IRRESISTIBLE – FALL INTO ROMANCE (Irresistible Romance Book 5) I’m a sucker for a great set of stories that pull at my heart. That’s exactly what the set of stories has done. Each one brought me all the feelings. Each one with amazing characters that were all so easy to connect with and had me lost in each of their worlds for a bit. One of my favorite things about an anthology is I get to visit new authors as well as some authors I already love. I think anthologies are a great way to bring authors together and readers also. This set pulled at every single heart string I’ve got an I truly loved every minute of it. I had a couple favorites I’ll be honest one of which was Two Hearts Truce each character pulled me in from beginning to end and I was sad to leave them but there was more to read! Another favorite was The Lies between Us this one really kept me on the edge of my seat. While I say those are favorites I promise you each story is awesome! Five huge stars and highly recommended!
