This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand-alone. Raven and Jack both end up in the same beach house trying to forget about life and it stresses. Neither one is what the other expected and as they turn what was supposed to be a bit of fun into something potential both Raven and Jack found out that they have A LOT more in common than they originally thought. Well written characters, book, and plot I’m a new Lea Nolan fan!!!

Chloe finds herself working through the Thanksgiving holiday to close the deal on a big client so that, hopefully, she will be enjoying Christmas with a promotion. However, her hopes for the promotions are gone when Jason walks into the office and introduces himself as her new boss. Jason left his previous company due to a hostile work environment, and it seems as though his first introduction to his co-worker, Chloe, isn’t going so well. He doesn’t know why she doesn’t like him, but he likes her (as maybe more than just a co-worker). When Chloe signs her big client, that’s when the drama really starts. A lot happens (and I don’t want to give any of it away), but it happens just like a Hallmark movie. I loved every second of it. A quick and fun holiday romance that I couldn’t put down.

If you’re looking for a short, steamy holiday read, the novella Five-Alarm Christmas by Melinda Valentine is it! This was a really good, enthralling, quick read. I was expecting more steam, as the title and cover alluded to, but it was still a good read. This novella was very well written, with some witty humor that made me chuckle a few times. I’m glad I picked this book up, I didn’t want to put it down, and I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future.
If you’re looking for a short, sweet, steamy holiday read, Office Mistakes by Beth Hale is for you! I read this novel in less than an hour. It’s a perfect holiday romance, with enough steam to keep you warm at night when you read it. The characters are great, and I loved the chemistry between Audra and Charlie. It was enthralling from the beginning of the novel to the end. I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future!

This is not my first book by this author but it has just become one of my favorites by her. I enjoyed being pulled into this book right from the beginning. The characters are connectable and brought a variety of emotions to the story. This author’s attention to details made the story feel realistic and made me feel as if I was part of the story. This is a story about Feirin. She has lost her memory and has no ideas who she is. The only thing she has that might tell her who she is, is a necklace around her neck. Thinking the police will be of help, they only bring more problems. What will happen if she is outside the walls of the city where survival is questionable. Feirin was such a great character and all that she brings to the story. This was a little different story for me but I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this book.

This is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much as the first. I highly suggest reading the first book as well to help your enjoyment of this series. This is a well written story that has characters that not only bring the story to life but also makes it fun to read. This is a shorter story that is engaging and kept me turning pages to the end. This is Faida’s story. She has a past that is full of disappointing things that has made her heart icy. She is about to meet her match in Robert. His heart is just as icy has hers. Now she is faced with melting her heart in order to help Robert see what is in front of him. They made such great characters. They really made the story enjoyable for me and easy to read. This heated up a cold afternoon for me and I think it will for you too. I highly recommend this book.

I loved this Christmas romance story. This author continues to impress me with her writing skills and attention to details. This story is no different. It is written with lots of heart and soul. The characters are connectable and brought the story to life. They made the story feel realistic. This is a story about Mia and Noah. Mia lives with a controlling father and has plans for the future in music. Noah also had plans for his future in music until he decided to enter the Air Force to help support his grandparents. When Noah sees Mia, he is instantly taken with her, he even serenades her. But her father puts a stop to their relationship fast. Fast forward six years, Mia is finally away from her father and returning back to Crystal Rock. What will she think when she finds out that Noah has never stopped loving her? Is there a chance for these two yet? Will it be another Blue Christmas? I loved these two, they made the story easy and fun to read. They have such great chemistry. This story will bring the Christmas spirit and magic. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Campbell Mackintosh starts his day with a hangover, he had been out drinking with his friends to celebrate his birthday and now the sun is streaming in, he has a headache and a distinct reluctance to getting up, all he wants is some more sleep, but his mum is vacuuming right outside his bedroom door as punishment. She doesn’t want him to sleep, he probably woke her up when he thought he was being quiet, so instead of sleeping longer, he resigns himself to the fact that he has to get up and face the music. He reminisces about his mum’s wild scottish ways and how living in Australia for many years hadn’t dulled her fiery temper, staunch stubbornness or sense of adventure, she also hadn’t lost her wit, sense of humour or inability to help anyone or anything in need. As he slowly made his way from the bathroom to the kitchen, his extra chirpy interrogation started, so painkillers in hand, he managed to get himself some water, coffee and toast and faced his family. His sister was reading the weekend paper as usual and his dad was up at “The Block” a piece of land where they went to escape the world and be surrounded by nature, a place where they learned as children to live off the land and all the survival techniques they may need out there.
He reminisces some more about his parents, their lives, their knowledge which had been passed on to him, his life so far and what he wanted to do when he finished his degree, that is as well as considering the merits of another cup of coffee until he is interrupted by his sister who asks him if he has seen the news. She goes on to tell him about a virus which has started to infect and kill hundreds of people, plants, animals and aquatic life in europe, how it is transmitted through water and seems to be nothing which can stop it, it is spreading like wildfire and if it continues on its current path, then it will eventually reach the sea and nobody and nothing survive once infected. Cam’s mum decides at that moment to vacuum in the kitchen and until she is finished, he decides to make himself that second cup and also to make one for his sister at the same time, he hands it over to her as soon as his mum goes into the living room and he shuts the door behind her. His sister then asks him if he is going to apply and she tells him in no uncertain terms to check his email and see for himself, it turns out that everyone who is able to apply has already had the link sent to them so that they can fill in the online registration, the government is looking for people to go to a meeting in Melbourne and Cam fills the requirements, he fills out the forms and get’s a message to say he has been booked on a but at 08:30 monday morning, plenty of time for him to go there, come back and get to his afternoon classes.
When Cam gets to the facility, he is surrounded by hundreds of other confused applicants, in long queues to get onto the bus in the first place and as he sees the guarded facility and yet more people and more queues, he decides that he made the right decision going for the early slot, he sees that it looks like a military base and that everyone had a role to play, they are told to report for registration and yet again, join another queue, this one is to get to a computer screen and fill out pages and pages of information from medical history to education, religion and everything in between, next he hands in his phone and watch and he is told he will get them back when he leaves. To pass the time Cam watches the other people and tries not to get fried by the midday sun, his name is eventually called to go to the next stage which is in a room where he has to fill in a psychometric assessment and answer as many questions as he can in a set amount of hours. As he is told to finish, stand up and leave the room, he feels like he hasn’t answered enough questions, but that stops when he goes to wait in the next room until he hears his name being called, he is then ushered into another room in smaller groups and just left there. Eventually, they follow someone out sluggishly to a room where blood and cheek swabs are taken before being led into a dining hall and thankful for finally getting something to eat and drink, he strikes up his first conversation since he has been there. Cam is then led for more tests and finally into an amphitheatre where the reason for all the secrecy and the tests is revealed, the people in the room had all been chosen to take part in an experiment where they will be isolated on islands and covered with a dome before living on the islands for the foreseeable future in order to continue the human race. It turns out that they have been selected to live these sustainable and isolated lives while the rest of the world succumbs to the virus within the waterways, they now have the choice of whether to accept the invitation or not. When Cam returns home with this information, it turns out that he has been gone for three days and only has two to reach a decision, he discusses it with his family and decides to accept and this is where the adventure of a lifetime begins for him.
A couple of years have passed and the community he is now living in has succeeded in surviving and starting to grow, he has a steady job and on the anniversary of the founding of their community finds a partner in Freja, they have a loving relationship and a bright future, this is until Freja disappears and Cam is lost without her, until he follows her without realising it and discovers he has travelled to a new community on Lewis in Scotland and that way in which he got there is a portal and also that there are more of these Antipodes throughout the world, he makes the decision to leave the safety of the dome to find Freja after he discovers that she has done the same.
This is a dystopian adventure set in the present, but with a twist on the usual themes with the Antipodes, but what will Cam find when he sets off on his travels and will he be able to unravel the feelings he has to find out where his future lies?

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher was such a great read! I loved the story and the characters so much. The chemistry between Lauren and David just jumped out of the pages at me and I couldn’t put the book down. I have to say, the last several chapters were completely my favorite of the book. So much drama and suspense, I had to hurry through the pages to find out what happened! And it had such a great ending! Fletcher really is a talented writer, for sure. I can’t wait to read more from her!

Fletcher – Review by Rachel Moss
An enjoyable and engaging historical fiction novel set in the kingdom of Mitanni. Uqnitum is a singer from a famous musical lineage but the fall of their city to the Assyrians costs her the life of both her husband and her youngest child. Along with her widowed daughter who is pregnant they flee to the court of Ugarit. However Uqnitum feels guilty over her part in her husband’s death and this affects her increasingly unhinged personality and she becomes dangerous. This is a wonderfully written and detailed novel, the narrative brings both the time period and the setting alive. The main characters are likeable and the storyline has enough going on in it to keep the reader happily turning the pages.

It is the last day of summer vacation and Cat Anderson is determined to enjoy every minute, she wakes up early and plans out her day in her head, go to the pool, use hair lightener, sunbathe, try a new snack, meet cute boys and swap phone numbers as well as the other things a fourteen year old girl can want. She creeps out of bed to the living room to get her phone from the living room to text her best friend and see if she is up and ready for the day yet, she is super excited and cannot wait any longer to ask her parents if she can go to the pool, the only snag in her plan. She goes to wake her parents up; and ask to go to the pool and she is not above begging this time, she really really wants to go, she eventually convinces them to do it, but with some conditions attached, to which she agrees and flies out of the room to get ready and throw some frozen waffles into the toaster and cover them in butter and syrup, but her mum is in the kitchen and just staring at the fridge, which is not normal, especially when she says she wants to bake something, Cat’s mum never bakes!
After she has eaten her waffles and her cousin Robyn has arrived in a burst of smiles and sunshine and announces that he mum has been baking all morning and that she has asked Robyn and cat to deliver them to the neighbours later on, all this talk of baking is making Cat’s mum on edge again, so she decides that this would be a good time for them to leave and head to the pool, but Robyn isn’t going to let it go and demands that they find out, as she is trying to figure it out, she remembers that it is more than strange that Cat’s mum is thinking about baking when she never even cooks anything, she only just manages to use her microwave and order takeout, but Cat is having none of it and eventually manages to change the subject to boys and distracts her.
When the girls get to the pool and realise that it is empty, they begin to regret their decision to go as early as possible, but they pick their spots and decide to do a bit of a sunbathing while they wait for their friends, this is after they have a race to the diving board, which Robyn wins as usual and to get down, Robyn dives and Cat cannonballs. When Cat surfaces, she is shocked to see that someone has arrived, Liam, they have a laugh and a joke about Cat’s dive, that is until she sees a gorgeous boy beside Robyn and she becomes speechless at the sight of him. Eventually she manages to get her words out to talk to him and finds out that if she doesn’t look at his eyes, she can actually talk to him, but that is easier said than done when all she wants to do is look at him. When Robyn and Liam go to get snacks, she is left with Tobey and continues their conversation, but agrees to go with him to join them shortly after, however, what Liam is eating puts her off food for a while, so she goes to top up her tan.
When Cat is woken up, she is embarrassed to know that she fell asleep, never mind that it was for a couple of hours, so after confirming that nobody had seen her snore or drool, agrees to go and join in the pool games with their friends for the next couple of hours. After she gets out, she sees someone eating a pretzel and sudden;y cannot get the idea out of her head that she has to try one of those bagels and after Tobey finds out where they are from, they go to get one from a newly opened bakery down the road from the pool, it is the most delicious thing she has ever eaten and unbeknownst to Cat, this pretzel is about to change her life.
When Cat gets home, she realises that the tv dinner she is eating is not appetising in the slightest and that she cannot eat it, so she asks to go to Robin’s house and the same thing happens the next morning at breakfast, her mum is also acting really strangely still. When she gets to school, she goes to her last class of the day and finds that there is no class, she goes to see the guidance counsellor and find out what happened, but has to wait until the next day to change it, her only choice now is to go to Culinary class, this is where things start to get strange.
Why has everything been turned upside down by that pretzel and why did what happened at school actually happen and what is going on with her mum? Cat has no idea what she has gotten herself into and what the consequences of this will be, but is it all tru, or is it all bake believe, the only way to figure out what happens is to read on and discover the secrets at the same time as Cat, with a few enticing recipes thrown in for good measure on the way.

Evil’s Whisper is the start of the Evil Saga, A dark fantasy series that i am already enthralled with! This is the first book I’ve read from Jordan Elizabeth, and I was NOT dissapointed! Quite the opposite in fact! This book is about Sabiya, The Daughter of Darkness, and her escape from Juniper City. This read is full of secrets and lies, darkness and deception, and will keep you reading way more than you intended to in one sitting! I was absolutely hooked from the very beginning of this book, and i just could not help reading it a second time! I can not wait for more from this author, I definitely recommend reading this book!

This is the 3rd book in the Vampire State series and it is just as enjoyable as the the first two books. The story keeps you gripped as you want to find out what happens. Rowena is a great character and the story about her indecision and confusion is really well written. I would definately recommend reading the first 2 books in this series as it will help you completely grasp the story.
The war is raging over freedom for humans in a vampire state. Rowena is not a reporter on the street right in the eye of the storm. In the middle of the war raging all around her. Her jobs is made all the more harder when she doesn’t know which side she wants to be on. Add to this her blossoming romance with a human Prince and everything is uncertain in her world.
This story is full of action and adventure with danger and romance thrown into the mix as well.

Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance: Moonlit Destination Series AUDIO by Amy McKinley
This is the first audio book I’ve done. Regan Brown had me captivated from the beginning. McKinley has really outdone herself in this short romance story. A great way to start a series and a definite must read. It’s short and sweet, but will leave you wanting more.
Nadia is now living on a beautiful island. When she runs into someone from her past. She doesn’t want to give him a chance but then she does. When she meets his sister again things go bad quickly. The quote I chose for Nadia is: “We haven’t known each other that long, Cade. I’d hate for you to invest so much money then find out that whatever this is between us is short term.”
Cade’s life was turned upside down five years ago after an accident that almost cost him his life. A woman, or as he finds out a girl, saves him from dying and then runs. What happens when he runs into her on the island he now calls home. The quote I chose for Cade is: “The accident. That was the start of a much bigger nightmare for my family. As much as we could, we’ve moved on. There isn’t anything holding me in New York any longer.”
Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

Cori Cooper is a new author for me and I really liked her story Bake Believe. This book is considered a Young Adult book but I think it can be for anyone. The plotline is simple but interesting. The characters are fully developed and have a personality to fall in love with them. This story is about Cat. She is a teen who wants the life of an average teen. That gets a little complicated when her schedule at school gets upside down and is taking a culinary class. She discovers baking. There is a little secret that her family is keeping from her. Will she learn about the secret? Can Cat cook? The best part of this story is that there are recipes in the story that sound yummy. I highly recommend this book for a fun short read.

Rowena is back and she is making a go of being an independent journalist with the help of Quintus, but on this day when she wakes up thinking she is late for work, she realises that she is on her own time and couldn’t be late but still getting up early is not easy for her, as she stumbles into the kitchen to find a note from Vincenzo, he is trying with these notes and today’s is no different with a joke and breakfast in the fridge. As she heads out to do an interview with Prince Antet with her sandwich in tow, she is thinking about the statement she released the day before and what the reactions to it have been, but she hasn’t got time to check them. As she pulls into a parking space near where the hotel is and checks in with Quintus, it is busy in the lobby and there are other news anchors making their own preparations, so she walks to the hotel and goes in via the back entrance and passed the Prince’s security, she pretty much walks into Quintus at the top of the stairs.
They head up to the Prince’s suite and she waves to an ex-colleague on the way, enjoying the look of surprise when he sees her, when she and Quintus arrive there, the Prince welcomes them with open arms, he is not quite ready to start the interview, but they talk and joke a little before talking about the format of the interview and how it is going to work without any camera’s present. They decide to record the audio only and then over coffee, they start the interview. They cover topics about both Rowena and the Prince and Rowena realises that she is getting from the Prince what she wanted from Vincenzo, it is a surprise and sets the tone for the rest of the interview, after it is all checked and completed and everyone is happy with the content and the agreement to allow more interviews in the future, Rowena and Quintus get ready to leave the hotel, this is when the Prince pulls Rowena to the side and asks her out on a date, Rowena says she will think about it and leaves.
As Vincenzo and Rowena prepare to leave for an event, they detour to see a friend on the way, but nothing new can be gleaned about the ULA political party through this source, so they head on to the event and meet Quintus there. The conversations on the boat aren’t wholly desirable to the humans on board and the news that one of the higher profile politicians has defected to the ULA, meaning that their hard work is about to become even harder is when Vincenzo confronts the party members at the same event, but it doesn’t end well and there is an argument between himself and Rowena, he leaves her standing in the cold and to fend for herself to get home again, alone. It is a few weeks later on that Rowena prepares for another interview with the Prince and this time, she is taking a camera with her as it is about the trade deal between Sanguinia and Kemet she will be reporting on, but when she gets to the Senatorio, things do not go quite to plan and it is only later on back at the hotel she finds out why and as things become heated, she takes the camera and shows the reality of the current situation and who is responsible for it/
This is the third installment of the Vampire State series and what a continuation it is, but can Rowena, Vincenzo and Quintus pull together or will this latest battle rip them all apart? Whose side is anyone on and will they stay that way, or will the lines blur? The only way to find out what the future holds is to read the book and find out.

Five-Alarm Christmas: A Novella by Melinda Valentine
This was the first book I’ve read by the author and It won’t be my last. This short and sweet story will leave you wanting more from the author.
Finley sneaks out of her parents house and finds herself in the arms of a stranger. She goes to the Fire Station’s annual Christmas party only to find her one night stand playing Santa. The quote I chose for Finley is: “I was not staring at him. I was looking at tonight’s contestant of Pick Your STD.”
Garrett finds himself in a bar and finds himself staring at a cutie. When he gets to the Station and meets the Chief’s family he is floored. The cutie is the Chief’s daughter. The quote I chose for Garrett is: “I never got to tell you how cute you look in that elf suit. I like it.”
Hale has outdone herself with this fabulous book. Office Mistakes is a great way to get to know the author.
Audra is afraid of opening her heart up to co-worker Charlie because she doesn’t want it to be another office mistake. She finds herself falling hard and fast. The quote I chose for Audra is: “You won’t be imposing. I promise. Come on, Charlie, and go with me. You’ll get a fantastic meal.”
Charlie had always had a thing for Audra. When the Christmas party ends and it ends with her in his bed things couldn’t get better. The quote I chose for Charlie is: “I don’t know what to think. But I’m beginning to think you were right. We should just step away and chalk this up to an office mistake.”
Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.

Fighting for Us (Love is Worth Fighting For #1) by Bella Emy
This is the first book I’ve read by the author and I’m going to be looking for more. You get a twist of romance and heartbreak.
Carissa works at the hospital and knows ‘Guns’ from somewhere. Her sister and best friend try to get her out of the house and go drinking. At the bar she meets someone and falls in love. The quote I chose for Carissa is: “I think I should fake a headache or pretend I’m hugging the toilet from food poisoning. I should cancel.”
Lorenzo lost his wife five years ago leaving him as a single father. When his brother and sister make him go out He finds a woman who he now calls Lush. Running into her at the store and saving her from her ex makes him realize maybe she would be good for him. The quote I chose for Lorenzo is: “Wait, I’m not with her with her… you know. She’s not… We’re not—”
Highly recommended for contemporary sports romance lovers.

The first read by the author and not my last. Corporate Christmas is a fantastic read. Marie knows what she’s doing while writing. Short, sweet, and romantic.
Chloe works through Thanksgiving for a promotion she’s been working hard for. Only to have it taken out from underneath her feet. She is let go and when the man comes looking for her things change. The quote I chose for Chloe is: “No, not that. Well, maybe that. No, what I figured out was I don’t want to do any of this without you. I want you in my life, Jason. I want you around me every day.”
Jason doesn’t know he’s taking a job from someone else. When he learns that she quit he’s upset. He then learns that she didn’t quit, she was fired. The quote I chose for Jason is: “And I don’t want to be where you’re not.”
Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.

Isle of Wingsis thecompanionnovelto SilverglenbyE.A Burnett. It’s a great YA fantasy that’s full of magic, self-discovery, mystery, danger, good vs evil, action, adventure, sorceress, and more. Again, Ms. Burnett has proved to be a superb storyteller, created a beautiful and believable world in which she sets her captivating story, adding skilfully crafted characters who lead us on an enthralling journey of discovery and adventure. Roana wants to escape the pain of her past- with her sights set on the Isle of Wings- but she will discover that isn’t going to be quite so easy- she’s about to be tested far more than she ever has before. The stakes are high, and she has a lot to lose. Iniko proves to be a valuable companion, and an asset to her quest. But in the end there can be only one choice- and either way her life will never be the same. Fascinating!

Hell Hath No Fury is the second stellar instalment in the Life is Hell series, by Naomi Valkyrie. I adored the first book in the series- so this book came with very high expectations. I am happy to say that Ms. Valkyrie didn’t let me down- she delivered everything I could have hoped for…. and more! I love this every bit as much as the first, and I wasn’t sure that would be possible! I loved Sheridan from the moment I met her back in book one. She is the zany, vivacious, irreverent, sexy, and sassy Hedonism demon- and Delilah’s best friend (Book #1). I was really excited that she would get her own book, as I knew she would be a hoot to follow- and she sure doesn’t disappoint- but also brings a depth and complexity that I didn’t expect, which made me love her even more!!! As I have mentioned a few times now, but it is worth repeating- Naomi Valkyrie has a talent for telling a wonderful, original, and captivating fantasy. Weaving a dynamic story full of texture, layers- with rich and vivid detailing. Her clever and imaginative touches bring her story, and characters, to life- making me feel like I’m right there watching everything as it unfolds, as much a part of the story as the characters themselves. Hell Hath No Fury is a superb fantasy, with wonderful paranormal characters and elements, demons, magic, humour, mystery, action, secrets, sizzling chemistry, danger, discovery, and more than a few surprising developments- as well as a wonderful f/f romance. Just Fantastic!!!! Now I really can’t wait to get my hands on Book #3!!!

Faida is the second book in the Heartstrings seriesby Brooke May. It is an original, sweet and fun paranormal romance story. This is the second book in the series, but you don’t have to have read the first book in order to enjoy this one. Each book in the series focuses on one of ‘Cupid’s’ chosen ones- one member of his team who help humans find love, while also introducing us to the other members who presumably will get their own story at some stage. We followed Aiko in the first book, and this time it is Faida’s turn. We met Faida back in book one, but this time she gets the spotlight. We get to know so much more about her- and she is full of complexities. I love how Ms. May has crafted such wonderfully quirky characters who each have their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. Faida was so much more than she first appears- which made this story all the more fun to follow. Bring on Book #3!

A Kiss Under a Blue Christmas Moonis the fourth book in Daydreams & Dragonflies Rock ‘N Sweet Romance seriesby Tamara Ferguson. It is a sweet, heart-warming, and very enjoyable contemporary romance- with a little drama, angst, emotion, music, and more. I have read most of Ms. Ferguson’s books now, and am always quite excited to get my hands on her new release/s as I am intrigued to see what she has in store for us each and every time. This book was everything I have come to expect from Ms. Ferguson- a really well written and charming story- with wonderful characters who not only have depth, but are also realistic, relatable, and entirely connectable. And as with her other books, Ms. Ferguson’s warm and inviting style easily pulled me into her story, coaxing me along for the ride. Sprinkle in a little bit of Christmas magic- and this story is a must-read for any second chance romance lover.

Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance (Moonlit Destinations Series) by Amy McKinleyis an engrossing contemporary romance. I love Ms. McKinley’s books, so it was a given that I would read this the moment it popped up on my recommendations. The story is everything I have come to expect from Ms. McKinley- with an enticing story that kept me glued to the pages. You don’t need to have read Amy McKinley’s stories before to enjoy this one- but be prepared to develop a taste for her work. And if you have read some of Ms. McKinley’s other books, then you most certainly won’t want to miss this one. Looking forward to whatever comes next!

Irresistible Christmas: Pets to the Rescueis the sixth addition to the Irresistible Romance series of anthologies. I love a great anthology, and especially one that features so many of my favourite authors. Add in some fluffy friends, and this was a real treat to read. This collection of wonderful stories showcases the work of seven very talented authors. Each story is unique and entirely individual to the author- with a variety of storylines and characters, each with their own touch of Christmas ‘magic’, each complimenting the collection, and each one being entirely captivating in its own right. There is definitely something here to satisfy the romance lover in all of us- and what better way to spend some time than curled up with a captivating book full of wonderful stories.
The collection contains:

The Singer and Her Song is the second book in the Empire at Twilight seriesby N.L Holmes. This book can be read as a standalone in the series, without feeling like you are missing out bits of storyline or information. I have read most, if not all, of Ms. Holmes book now, and I have found the one thing that connects them all and impresses me the most, is the rich and vibrant historical details she weaves into all her work. As with all her other books, Ms. Holmes passion for history shines through in her writing, which makes reading her stories a real pleasure. This story is a fascinating blend of fiction and historical fact, woven into quite an interesting tale. This time, the story is set in Syria in 1235 BCE- which really comes to life under the authors creative hands. We get plenty of dysfunctional family dynamics, drama, emotion, and some self-realisation and discovery too. It is an intriguing story that held my attention the whole way through. While not my favourite read of hers, it was non-the-less entertaining. Happy Reading!

This was such a good holiday second chance romance read. Ally and Archer were destined to be forever, until they weren’t. When Archer comes back he learns news and wants to try his best to make things right. I really enjoyed this story and will be reading more from this author!

I Once Was Lost, But Now I’m Found: Daisy and the Olympic Animal Sanctuary Rescue by Laura Koerberis quite the emotive read. I found my emotions all over the place while reading this book, from anger to despair, heartache to hopeful joy. This is a true life story that packs quite a wallop. It is all about animal rescue- saving hundreds of dogs from deplorable conditions- this is an account of what went into the mammoth effort to free these animals, and the toll it took. The story isn’t a light and fluffy read, but at the same time there is a promising tone- an uplifting underlying message that promotes and encourages animal rights and rescue, and for no other reason, that alone makes this well worth the read.
