This book is one of the most wonderful romances that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading! Due to its fast pace and ability to keep the reader glued, I spent every spare moment among its pages, impatient to find out what happened next. Though it definitely qualifies as NSFW (Not Safe For Work), the scenes that make it so exhibit and enhance the passion and love the couple has for one another instead of just being mindlessly thrown in. Even though it’s the third book in a series, it holds its own incredibly well. I highly recommend it.

Hell Hath No Fury Is the second book in the Life Is Hell series by Naomi Valkyrie. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend you read the first book, No Rest for the Wicked, first. Both books are five stars and although this book is Millicent and Sheridan’s story there are recurring characters from the first book. This story flowed smoothly and had me hooked from the very first page. I read the whole book in one sitting because I just had to find out what was going to happen next. I love when a book brings out emotions, and this one made me laugh one moment and want to throw my reader on the ground the next. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Valkyrie has in store for us in the next book in this series.

This book is horrible and amazing all at the same time. My heart breaks that any of this could possibly be anything more than fiction. The author handles a heartbreaking and difficult reality and puts to page a riveting tale that convicts and moves. Beautifully tragic and excellently told. If you have a heart for your furry friends, keep the tissues handy.

The second installment of the Life is Hell series. Anytime I see that Ms. Valkyrie has a new book, I make sure to get it as soon as I can! Most of the awesome characters from the first book are back in this one, and I’m really impressed that the the characters continue to grow and become more of a team in this book. This book concentrated on Sheridan (a demon) and Millicent (a town deputy). Millicent’s is being stalked by a creature unknown to the group. Together they come up with a plan to try and keep Millicent safe.

If every book in this series gets better as we go, then I am not prepared for the rest of this series. I seriously loved the first book and this one has now tied with that one for me. Hell Hath No Fury (Life Is Hell Book 2) by Naomi Valkyrie is a fantasy paranormal romance story. Naomi’s story telling gets better with each book and this one is my favourite to date. As always, her narrative is on point and her characters are delightful. It’s an original storyline that is a good strong story. I love this well woven multi layered tale that Naomi has made so easy to become a part of. There is something for everyone, with danger and drama, love and magic, sassiness and so much more.
Naomi’s growth as an author is a pleasure to see shine through.

The Singer and Her Song (Empire at Twilight Book 2) by N.L. Holmes is a historical fiction story. This time we are transported to Mesopotamian land of Mittani. As usual NL is passionate and well researched in the genre that each story is written and shows in the storyline. She also has the ability to paint a vivid picture. The narrative is original and engaging and NL does a great job of bringing it all together. This is not just a story it is also a lesson on life in Syria in 1235 BCE.

What a sweet romantic read! I loved reading about Asher and Jasmine. When the hot reaper takes a holiday to escape the ghost start to pile up! This causes problems for Jasmine and Asher that they may have to work together to solve! Will they be able to set aside their differences to get the ghosts back where they belong? What made Death want to take a vacation in the first place? This is a great fast read!

This is such a fun book, perfect for older children/young teens who like the magical side of things. The characters are fun, the story is interesting without being too dark, and it gives of an overall whimsical vibe. Cat is very superficial in the beginning of the book, but she grows immensely as the book goes on. The concept of this book is so original, that makes it even more interesting. The author is so good at weaving a tale that makes you yearn for more. While it is aimed at a younger generation, it really is enjoyable for all ages. I have not been a young teen in a very long time, yet I could not put this book down.
If you or your child like a light-hearted, magical story, I highly recommended this book.

Uqnitum comes from a long lineage of musical performance. There is bad things going on outside of the town’s gates and it’s not looking promising. Having lost a son-in-law and now worrying about losing her husband and youngest son. The quote I chose for Uqnitum is: “You’re expecting humanity from those people? Gods protect us all. I’ll collect the dishes. Tatasshe may or may not snap out of her snit…”

Can we just have a second for me to fan girl all over this new series? I can’t get enough. I love the Life is Hell series and devour them the second I get them open. I read this in one sitting and probably neglected my life for a few hours, but SO WORTH IT. Naomi Valkyrie is one of my newest favorite authors. I can’t wait for the next one- read this series. Please read in order, that way everything makes sense the way the author intended. This book focuses on Millie and Sheridan, who in the first book were just supporting characters. Great word building and story line. Can’t get enough, I’m officially a Naomi junkie!

I’ve read many new authors this year. Above them all stands N. L. Holmes. She really is my newest favorite. I know when I pick her book up it will be a good read. They don’t always end the way I wish but isn’t that just like life. The Singer and Her Song delivers in the same way that all her books do. A world rich with the tapestry of everyday living, characters so real you feel you know them or at least someone like them. She doesn’t pull any punches with the raw emotion involved with the mundane affairs of everyday living or the inevitable crisis. Who hasn’t had a family or a family member that’s so dysfunctional it’s a poison to everyone around them? Even people that came unaware to the party. Once again this is a story set in an ancient land in an ancient time but with characters that reflect the same flaws that so many of us have in this time and place. The stage may change but the actors remain the same. Congratulations N. L. Holmes another excellent read.

I really enjoyed this novel by Naomi Valkyrie. I enjoyed watching the journey of Millicent and Sheridan as they found each other and love for each other. It was also good to catch up with the rest of the gang and to see them happy together. The story included a couple of twists and turns in the story which made it a real page turner. Naomi Valkyrie is a good author and I look forward to reading more from her.

Finders Reapers: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen, is another fine little paranormal Romance. Always a quick read full of humor and sass. Jasmine and Asher start out on a wrong foot, and it doesn’t help that neither one can just be honest with one another. Why do we do that? Communication can solve a boatload of problems. A little bit of mature audience only going on in this tale but not enough to overload the story.

Oh, what a delightful story. Bake Believe by Cori Cooper is all that and more. Who knew that reading a recipe book could be such fun? Cat is a normal, I mean really normal, teenage girl. She is on the trail to solving a unique family mystery. Such fun and mayhem that occurs in that journey makes for miles of smiles of reading. I love the recipes written in everyday language because even that gave me giggles. And I can’t wait to give the pretzels a whirl. Can’t wait for the next one. This one is a winner for me.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I have really enjoyed it. It is a story filled with heartbreak, mystery, and a smoking hot connection between the characters. Both the main characters have really sad and heartbreaking back stories which has helped to make them more real and more rounded as a character.
Tara has moved back home. After her husband was killed in action she gave up her life as a photojournalist and moved back to her family home town where she opens a restaurant. Even after all this time Tara doesn’t feel ready to move on. She has never had interest in anyone else. That is until her new neighbour Jace came along.
Jace has moved to be away from his memories. After losing all his family to a boating accident he needed to get away and start fresh. One thing making things more pleasant for him is his neighbour Tara.
There is no denying the connection and the attraction between them but both of their pasts are still impacting their futures. At first I wasn’t sure where this book was going, so I was kind of conflicted about how I would feel about it in the end. I was quickly sucked into the story and the characters lives. I was not so patiently waiting for the story to continue quickly so that I could find out what role each character was playing and what would happen. Nadia seems like such a sweetheart, I really like how she fell in love with Cade and couldn’t follow through with her mission, and still wanted to get a glimpse of him years later. The fact that Cade has a near death experience and still manages to remember the girl who saved him years prior proves in my mind, that they are meant to be. They both follow their gut when it comes to each other and knowing that they are forever. I really enjoyed the drama the unfolded when Cade’s sister notices Nadia and finding out the organization Nadia works for and why. I was sad to have this story end, I was wanting more but was satisfied with the ending.

So come step into this beautifully written, unique and entertaining world filled with reapers, necromancers, ghosts, vampires and the occasional talking cat then sit back and enjoy the ride …. or portals, boats, magically doors, you know, however you want to get there.

This story was so different than anything I have read in a while. The characters were well written and the story had a decent pace to it. The narrator did a good job doing the different characters, this was a first time listening to him. I liked the inventiveness of the story itself with the realms and the different types of situations everyone can handle, I was intrigued through the whole book.

This was an interesting fantasy read, though it has other elements of paranormal, drama, dystopia and mystical as well. I found the book difficult to get into in the beginning, and as the story went on the plot took so many twists it was hard to keep track of. There were many details in the world-building, some of which confused me, but I still enjoyed its vividness. The main character Fee is a strong female character but I also thought the supporting characters were well-developed, and I am definitely eager to find out what happens to Fee next.

Isle of Wings by E.A. Burnett a four-star read that will take you away. This was one of those stories that suck you in, Roana makes you care, you feel their pain, and persecution. There is a lot of mystery and hiding in this story, as well as the fantastic journey the story will take you on, I enjoyed Silverglen when I read it some time ago and enjoyed this one also.

Hell Hath No Fury by Naomi Valkyrie a five-star read that will pull you in. This is number two in the series and I loved the first and am so happy we get more Sheridan in our lives, we all need a little Sheridan especially at the moment, she may be a demon, but that’s not all she is. There is a great story in this one and some fantastic passion and excitement. The pacing is fast, but well done and once you start it you will not want it to end. This has been a great series and I cannot wait for more.

I love discovering a new-to-me author whose work immediately pulls me into their story which then sparks to life before my eyes- their words able to block out the ‘real world’ while ensuring that I am fully engaged and invested in their creation. Well, Wildfire by Ashley A. Quinnwas all that and more- an unexpected little gem of a story that has left me with a taste for more of her work. I can feel the beginnings of an addiction forming. Her work reminds me of Ann Voss Peterson’s books. This is the second book in The Broken Bow series, and I have already gone back to purchase book one to read next- as well as pre-ordering the upcoming book in the series. While there were a few issues to find through the story, such as character name changes and wrong words used- they were quite minor and in the end they didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. This is primarily a romantic suspense- with plenty of danger, suspense, drama, intrigue, angst and emotion. But this is also a story of second chances, new beginnings, secrets, chemistry, connection, family, friendships- and more. Weave in the disturbing ‘stalker’ aspect, as well as the clever twists and turns- and this story became un-put-down-able. I was so absorbed by the story that I read it in one sitting- as I really needed to know how everything played out in the end. It has definitely left me wanting more- in a great way. So now I really can’t wait to devour the rest of the series! I was going to go into the story and give you a bit of a rundown on what to expect- but I think I will let you discover all the appeal for yourself- as I am sure you are going to enjoy it just as mush as I have. Highly recommended!

I pretty much devoured this book in one afternoon. I was hooked from the beginning and had to know what was going to happen. This is Rick’s story. Rick has a big secret that he’s carried with him for a long time. With him being a Marine it was the best idea to uncover his secret. But he found a lover with one of his fellow Marine buddies and for six years they kept their secret from everyone. Rick’s world is completely shattered when he hears the news that his lover is going to marry someone else. Rick tries drinking his pain away. After one to many he sees a hunky blonde who takes pity on him. Brent has a secret as well he finds himself looking for a place to rent when his boss suggests place but what he doesn’t realize is who he will be renting from. Find out what happens next in this must read . I highly recommend you won’t be disappointed I sure wasn’t. I also look forward to reading more from this Author.

Rick is the third book in the Ingram Brothers seriesby Roz Lee. I have come into this series backwards, not realizing that when I one-clicked a copy of this book, that it was the third (and final ?) instalment in the series. This book can be read as a standalone, as each instalment focuses on one particular brother- but having said that, there were references and details in this book that made me curious about what occurred in the previous two books, so I will definitely be going back to read them as well. Rick has carried the burden of his secret for so long now- all through his military career with the Marines- it weighed heavily on him, but he felt that the military wasn’t the best environment to lay bare his soul. Drinking his pain away seemed like the best idea at the time- drowning his sorrows in a gay bar- one too many drinks later and Rick is lucky a gorgeous blonde decides to take pity on him. But the blonde turns out to have closer ties to Rick’s world than he first realized- what happens next makes for a great read. This is an engrossing and emotive MM romance, with just enough drama to keep things interesting.

This adventure for young readers is set on an island where a group of Catholic school kids set out to solve the mystery of who stole their fund raiser money, who burned down their clubhouse, and is threatening the local Native American healer and the editor of St. Frederick Island’s newspaper. The Buccaneers are an engaging group of kids who find adventure in pirate caves and the coastal waters of the fog-bound island. Humor and mystery keep the pages turning.

And her writing simply gets better with each book. For complete picture, and sheer enjoyment, this book should be enjoyed in series order. Quite simply, once you’ve picked up one you will want to read them all. Cannot wait to see what Ms. Valkyrie brings us next!
