This beginning of this book was great! I enjoyed the inner dialogue of Alex and his stress of going camping. I was really getting to *feel* for the characters. Then something happened. It just stopped…well maybe dwindled away. The story became hyper focused on teaching him camping and the discovery of love. The ending picked back up and became the fun loving story. The dynamic between the three was good. Problem was half the time I couldn’t remember they are older characters because their antics seemed like teenagers. I liked the insight into Penny’s character.
Overall this started with a huge promise of a wonderful story. It lost its way but found it again in the end.

Loved this book, the characters are great. Although it is a little bit predictable but it is still worth a read. Regan really tries not to fall for her boss as she has had bad experiences in the past and finds it hard to trust, but Zach cannot stay away and does everything he can to get close to her and break down her walls.

I feel like this book had so much potential but somewhere along the way it got a bit lost. I normally love a second chance romance but there was just something missing, I wouldn’t say i loved this book but it is a good book. I really could not connect with Dre, although her sassiness did have me chuckling at parts. Erik drawed me in straight away even though I wanted to hate him I just found I couldn’t especially the way he is with his daughter. Orchid is amazing and she really makes the story.

Professor Valentine: A Student-Teacher Contemporary Romance Novella is the first book in the Kirk University series by Diana Vale. I had not previously read any of this author’s work so was unsure what to expect from this novella but I did enjoy it and devoured it all in one sitting. For a long time I have been a huge sucker for a teacher/student romance. It’s a trope that I do enjoy and this book didn’t let me down. My one moan is that even though I knew it was a novella, I felt that it was all over too quickly. I’d really like to have gotten to know Cassie and Diego a lot more. I did enjoy reading about Cassie and Diego’s growing relationship but I do feel that for a long time I felt that Cassie was much more invested in the relationship than Diego was. I may be wrong but that’s the feeling that I had for much of the book. It felt as though Cassie was practically begging Diego to have a relationship with her. I did however enjoy reading the book and would definitely read more of this author’s work.

The Sun at Twilight is the fourth book in the Empire at Twilight series by N.L Holmes. As with the rest of the series, this is an historical crime story- full of rich and descriptive details which bring the story to life. As I have discovered from reading most of Ms. Holmes’ other works, is that historical fiction is what she does best- her extensive knowledge of her subject adds realism and interest to her stories. And the authors obvious passion for history is not only evident in her work- but also added to my enjoyment of the book. Ms. Holmes’ stories are a wonderful and fascinating blend of fiction and historical fact, which are woven into intriguing tales with plenty of mystery and drama to keep things interesting.

Professor Valentine is a great romance read, one that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish, I found it surprisingly easy to connect with the characters given that it’s a novella, there was plenty of detail and backstory that helped the characters feel real and had me invested from the beginning.
I really enjoyed how well rounded this story was and while I don’t usually like the push and pull aspects of relationships, I ended up really liking it in this story, it seemed to add so much for me and really added to the story making it feel all the more raw and real.
Overall, I loved everything about this novella and I look forward to reading more from this new to me author in the near future.

What an utterly fabulous cbook. I’ve loved everything about this series and this final book wraps up everything superbly. Jean Gill has certainly given herself a lot of work to do in this last volume. There are, for example, a lot of characters to deal with. Some good, some bad, most intriguing and realistic combinations of both. Jean Gill’s character development is a powerful feature throughout the trilogy and creates real engagement with the main players.

I really enjoyed this steamy short read. If you like cowboys and spoilt girls then it is definately for you.

This is a sweet friend’s to lovers romance. I really enjoyed it. The characters were well written and engaging and you feel drawn in right from the beginning.
Ash is in his last year at university. He’s also the lead singer of a band that has just got its big break. A record deal. If only life was simple. With a family he needs to help the decision to jump at the chance isn’t an easy one and it’s made even more complicated with the return of Calla.
Calla had left there home town years ago but now she is back for the summer. Ash is surprised at how strong his feelings still are for Ash. Can he take the chance he missed out on when they were younger?
With both Calla and Ash having separate lives they come together to enjoy a summer romance but that they leave it at just that? Will their feelings grow to strong to just be a summer fling? It was well written and captured the boldness of Cassandra really well. I really enjoyed this story. The pain we bury deep inside and let effect every relationship we have. Dre has really bad trust issues. She is straight to the point no bs. I really liked her personality but the pain she held was breaking her and keeping her from being truly happy. She doesn’t need a man to be happy but forgiving and loving on would’ve made her life easier. I really liked how she dealt with Shay’s drama. She knew she couldn’t change her opinion on what to do with JT but stayed for the kids. I would’ve liked a better description of how she looked so my visual of her going off on Annie was better lol. I definitely will read more from this author. A well written story about a woman doing what she does best and being a boss at it.

Wow, this novella starts extreme and does not stop. I absolutely love that this was set in London. I love any books set there; they bring a certain magic to the page. Probably because it’s different than what I am used to. Cassie is 18-year-old freshmen in university that has a crush on her hot new lecturer, Diego. It is definitely a forbidden romance; I mean it’s there in the title. I was apprehensive about starting this novella, but by the end I was okay with how most things went and ended. I like how Diana Vale wrote her two main characters. Cassie wanting to be seen as an adult, grown up now that she is in University, just like most people her age. Diego struggling with life choices and feelings, the past as well. like most people in the world.

Witness is another psychological thriller in the Ash Park series by Meghan O’Flynn. This book is like a Law and Order SVU episode. If you like criminal mystery books, this is the series for you. There is SO MUCH going on, its like they fell into a rabbit hole. Each level of the case that unfolds, grows deeper and deeper. It is action packed and keeps the reader hooked and wanting to know how it ends. It is written with so much vivid detail, that we can envision the characters and the story. I think this book could be read without reading the rest of the series. I have only read a couple, but I enjoy them. There is enough detail given on Petrosky’s past so we know the gist of what is going on. I was disappointed to see how much of a mess he is in this book, and to be honest, it got kind of old to hear about how much he wanted the next drink. But I guess it goes to show us how affected he is by his job and the pain from his past.

Hook makes it his sole mission to track down and kill the fiend after learning that a boy named Peter Pan played a part in the death of a dear loved one. The captain meets several new allies on his quest for revenge, including a young girl named Red and a fairy named Tinker Bell, all of whom encourage him to rethink his thirst for justice. He goes on a whirlwind journey in Neverland after accidentally rescuing a mermaid. Hook must choose between the chance of a new life with love and his much-desired revenge against Pan after a series of misadventures.
This was a lovely retelling, and I loved every page of it. This is book one, and I would love to read more of this collection.

This isn’t the first book by Jackson I’ve read and it won’t be my last. Jackson is a fantastic author and Best of My Love is a great book. The characters had me laughing and crying.
Andrea aka Dre is amazing with computers. Has been since she was little. When her mom passed away things went downhill when her dad didn’t show up. When he finally came home things really changed. Dre never expected to be back in her hometown, but when she comes home her ex comes back into her life. The quote I chose for Dre is: “A little understanding? I put my life on hold to come help you Shayna. I’d say that’s pretty damn understanding. I’m helping out the best I can and you’re bitching because you have to miss one soccer game! Christ if it’s so important come and watch from the car.”
Erick messed up big time in the past and now he’s got a beautiful little girl due to the situation. He didn’t think Dre would come home and when she does he isn’t sure what to do. Erick keeps messing up, but he wins her back after all. The quote I chose for Erick is: “What don’t we have to talk about? You never used to avoid confrontation.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

8 Second Ride is a short story that you can easily read in an hour. Ive read several books by this author and am never disappointed but this time this story ended to quick. Like I need more story because I feel like there’s unfinished business. We got he made it to Vegas but that’s it. I need to know what the outcome is. This is about Tuck and his boss’s spoiled brat of a daughter. She had a bad relationship with a cowboy and shut her heart off. Tuck is ex army now trying to win a rodeo buckle. So, it took me quite a while to realise that this was the second book in the series, but I should have known really because all the things I found jarring and baffling about it were because of this. Right from the start, I was struck by how I already felt as though I were mid-way through a book, stuff felt like it had been going on for a long time and I had just missed it all. Obviously though, this in no way reflects on the writing, Simon’s does an awesome job and has created an interesting dystopian world that is both vibrant and intelligent. There is something very human to the way Simons writes, past all the airy-fairy crap and straight to the meatiness of what it means to be human. Cam is an interesting character, living in a sustainable community with his friend Fraser and though life seems idyllic, he is haunted by those that he loves, and a world left behind, the way it used to look and used to be. There is something beautifully melancholic about Simon’s writes Cam, and I found it addictive to read. Simons has a sophisticated tone to her writing, steaming ahead with the confidence of someone that knows their reader will be right there with them. I loved the world she created. It felt both ancient and modern all at the same time, something I didn’t think was even remotely possible, but Simon’s managed to do it effortlessly. I quite liked the idea of the world and the feel of it, even though I was lost, Simons writes wonderfully and makes even fumbling a bit in the dark a fun and enjoyable experience. I know that when I have finally gotten round to reading the first book in this series I will love this book in a whole new way and see it in a whole new light. I would definitely recommend reading this along with the other books in the series as I think Simon’s has done an epic job here and even though I didn’t know quite what was happening, I still loved the journey I was being taken on. Excuse me while I go and read the first in the series and fall in love with that one too.

I was once again take into the historical world and lost in intrigue and drama. This is the fourth book by this author that I have read and was not disappointed. I really like how the author is able to bring the past to life and the characters just come right off of the page. I like how the complex relationships are outlined and how the story unwinds.
The characters all have very complex lives and they really draw the reader in and the past unfolds right before your eyes. There is just the right mix of drama and intrigue mixed in with subterfuges and conflict. I really felt as though I was back in time and like I was right there interacting with the characters. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

5 Stars Granted: Curse Of The Emerald Jinn by Rachel Huffmire
Holy Wow this author has gone and done it again. She has quickly become one of my one-click authors and Granted is my favorite yet. Tbis ia a young adult story that pulled me in from the very beginning and I found myself lost in the pages. I couldn’t put it down and finished in one sitting. This is a wonderfully written story about a sixteen year old named Liam. He sees colors when people mess with him. The colors start to stand out when stuff starts happening for him. When someone saves his life and he brings home a shell and along the way makes an enemy. What do these things have in common? Do the effect his colors? There’s just the right amount of twists a d turns that will have you on the edge of your seat trying to figure out happens next?. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I must say, I love this book. In fact, I want to re-read it that’s how much I loved it. I have never read a book by this author before but I’m planning to check out some of her others to see if I like them as much as I did this one. I am a sucker for coming of age stories about love. Especially first loves. And this one topped the charts for me. The writing is phenomenal. It was so easy to read and follow along and I refused to put it down because I was page turning so fast. I felt that she did a good job making the characters very familiar to me. I was quickly teleported back to my own teenage years and all the angst that plagued me during that time. I could sympathize with the main character in wanting to be understood and accepted for who and what I am, but instead feeling sad and rejected by everyone around me. I was extremely satisfied with the ending and could see this being made into a young adult romantic movie. In fact, I could see this being another Sixteen Candles movie by John Hughes. I look forward to following along with this story in the next chapter of their book. I highly recommend reading this book. In fact, I would say, this would be a great book for a mother and her daughter to read together and discuss. I could also see this being chosen as a young adult book club read. It’s well worth picking up and discussing.

Diego already has a reputation before I even entered the university. Ableit can be a bit slow at times however, after a few chapters the pace of the story gets better. What happens when Cassandra falls for him. I wish it was longer in all honesty.

THE MYSTERY OF THE LOST AVENGER (ANNIE TILLERY MYSTERIES) by LINDA MARIA FRANK. This book was so good. It is meant as a kids story but I enjoyed just as much as a kid would! Its the story of the women involved in Aviation back in 1943 during WWII. When Annie, Charlotte’s great grand daughter finds a note written by Charlotte in one of these old planes the mystery begins. This plane had disappeared in in mysterious circumstances so the whole family gets involved in finding out the real story. Charlotte tested these plane before battle and she had fallen in love with one of the pilots. After they find the note they begin to look in their grandmothers old things and find more clues. This is such a fun mystery. I think kids and adults alike will enjoy this fun read.

Slash & Burn (Nite Fire Book 4) by C. L. Schneider. I have loved this series and this is not my favorite genre so that says a lot. You could read this as a standalone but I recommend reading them in order to get the best enjoyment. We pick back up with Dahlia who is trying to get her life back in order as she is back to trying to save people. As the lies that have been spun for years begin to unravel Dahlia keeps coming back to the first case involving Ella Chandler. This leaves her not knowing who to really trust anymore. Dahlia figures out that if she doesn’t stop this stuff the world could be in jeopardy. Doing back to Dimerea with her team she is met with all kinds of danger. Will Dahlia save not only her City but the world as well. Read Slash & Burn to find out!
