Maggie (Maggie Trilogy Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Mya O’Malley – Review by Carly Vogler

Wow! Be prepared to listen to this book all in one sitting. At about 10 hours in length, this story is riveting from the start.

Maggie by Mya O’Malley, is a marvelous creation! I love the way it is written from different characters points of view. You really feel as though you are in the story with them.

Naomi is running from a mentally unstable ex-boyfriend and falls right into a home near a cemetery. After her cat seems drawn to a particular grave, Naomi delves deep into the young girl’s “accidental” death and finds herself befriending a spirit.

Naomi is quickly falling for a few guys in the neighborhood, but isn’t sure who she can trust as her research starts bringing up some surprising accusations. Can Naomi solve the mystery of young Maggie’s death while staying sane? Or with she get caught in harms way
and lose everything?

Safe Harbor: A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 5 AUDIO BOOK by Valerie Davisson – Review by Betsy Melano

Safe Harbor (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 5) by Valerie Davisson is a crime novel that I got sucked into right away. I love finding a great mystery full of suspense and intrigue. First of all, Logan McKenna’s mother shows up at Logan’s home out of nowhere with no explanation. Soon after her mother showing up, Logan heads out on a much needed vacation with her family to Oregon’s Pacific coast. All of a sudden this vacation to relax and enjoy time with family turns into Logan finding herself as one of the suspects of a murder investigation. How could this have happened, Logan is just visiting the town. What could she do to find out who the murderer is?

Mary Ann Jacobs narrated this audio book. Her voice is easy to listen to and I appreciated her use of slightly different tone of voice for different characters. I would be happy to listen to a book that Mary Ann Jacobs narrates in the future.

This is a collection of 3 books that follows the story if Lexi and Lucca. It is a dark romance that keeps you gripped from the first book. The characters are so well written that you can help feeling like your going through every emotion with them. Parts of the story are hard to read due to Lexi’s abusive past but really well written.

Lexi has had a terrible past which has now made her an adult that is untrusted, suffers bad with anxiety and she can’t see any way she will let another man near her.

That is until Lucca comes into her life. The attraction is instant but she is so scared of what could happen between them.

Can Lucca be her light out of the darkness she has been living in? Can Lucca help her overcome her past and open herself to love? Or will Lexi push him away and not give him the chance to prove he can be trusted?

This is a Crime novel and is 156 pages. This is an epic crime read! I am pretty sure I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading this one. You seriously cannot put this down. The way this author wrote the book had your imagination running wild. I found myself having to slow down so I could take it all in. The family lies and secrets would be enough to push anyone over the edge.

Love by Design (The Meraki series, #2)Love by Design by Effie Kammenou
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this romance story. It is the second book in this series which I enjoyed just as much and highly suggest reading the first book as well. This is a well developed story that has characters that bring life to the story. I had no problems relating to them and they made the story fun and entertaining to read. This is a story about healing from the past and learning to trust in romance. MIa has just landed her dream job except she now has to work with Nicholas, who she has had a crush on. They find themselves on a beautiful adventure of the new publication. They each have a past that they need healing of. Can they find the healing they need in themselves? What will fate have in store for them? I enjoyed them and what they brought to the story. I also enjoyed the mystery part where Mia tries finding out what happened to her grandfather which brought the story to another level. Their growth is great as well as their chemistry. I highly recommend picking up this book.

I enjoyed this book. This the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous book to help your enrichment of this series. This is a well written story that kept me turning pages to the end. This is an engaging story that has characters that brought the story to life on every page. This is about Randy, an author who is ready to take his relationship to another level while he is at Honeybee Lake. What will happen when murder throws a curve ball into his plans? Will he be able to find answers to his questions before it is too late? This is a really great story. The characters really made the story for me and Randy is my favorite. I am happy I picked up this book and so will you be. I highly recommend this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book. This is an author that I have loved and read every book by her and they just keep getting better and better. This one is no different. It is the fourth book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous books before this one to help your enjoyment of this series. This is a well written story that pulled me in right from the beginning. This is a fast paced story that is engaging and kept me turning pages to the end. In this book we get to see Dereck’s story. He is assigned a task of one of the men he is bodyguard for. What he gets himself into is trafficking which is where he meets Layla. Now he is faced with losing his heart to her and they both find themselves in a situation that could be deadly. I loved these characters and what they bring to the story. Their growth in the story makes it feel realistic. They made the story entertaining to read and I highly recommend it.

Ocean’s Light (Blood of the Pirate BOOK 1) by Mina Chara – Review by Jennifer Wolbeck

The Ocean's LightThe Ocean’s Light by Mina Chara
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a promising start for a cozy, young adult adventure on the high seas. You get the classic elements of pirates and treasure maps, while also having the benefit of seeing the story unfold from the young orphan heroine, Evie Waters’s, point of view. It was fun reading about this kind of story from a girl’s perspective, but her overall characterization felt rough at times. She’s stubborn, strong willed and very nerdy, but it would have been more compelling to have a heroine with more dimensions to her personality. My favorite part of the novel was the world building, which we cleverly get to explore more in depth because Evie is an aspiring cartographer and must compensate for her lack of experience with her vast book-learned knowledge.

The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Jennifer Wolbeck

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I would give this book a 3.5 if I could. The cliché characters and predictable plot push this novel towards 3 stars, but the great quality and well roundedness of the writing style is enough to merit a 4 star rating. If you enjoy office romances, especially one that’s dripping with all the stereotypes and tropes that come with the genre, then you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for. However, if you were wishing to get something that offered something different or more, look elsewhere. Regan is definitely a polarizing character. You either love her and enjoy the tension that her personal baggage brings to the romance, or you’ll find yourself pulling your hair out over her issues. I recommend Executive’s Decision to anyone who’s just looking for an easy read.

I usually avoid reading horror/suspense, but I’m so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone for Evil Sushi. Not only is it a creative story full of mystery, suspense and the paranormal, but it’s also an interesting way of socially commenting on the state of the world and marine life conservation. The story is definitely weird, but well written and engaging. I recommend this for anyone who’s looking for something different and thought provoking to read.

5 stars!

I love this book! The story completely drew me in from the beginning, and I fell in love with all the characters. Jacob was super annoying, I was getting really mad for poor Madison, and the fact that he goes against pack law not once but twice is also slightly concerning. Zach and Emily are the sweetest together, but the way Zach treats Emily towards the end when the big bomb was dropped had me angry. I can understand why he would be upset but it is always better to talk things out instead of walking away and avoiding it. It also seem as the end he gets all up in his feelings and might make the worst decision he could regarding his and Emily’s future relationship. I was more invested in Jacob and Madison’s relationship than the others but still want to know what will happen. I can not wait until the next book comes out, I need to know what happens!

This was a great book!! I was super disappointed when it ended, and with a cliffhanger at that! I enjoy books about the supernatural world and this one was not a disappointment.

The characters were lovable and struggled with not only normal high school issues, but learning how to deal with their legacies. I think puberty is hard enough without having to deal with if you are a wolf, witch, or dealing with vampire enemies.

I am definitely looking for the next installment of this series!!

I Will Bury You was quite the YA thriller read. I was intrigued from the very start and enjoyed the storyline. The author managed to keep me on the edge of my seat from the beginning until the very end, constantly guessing about the outcome. I enjoyed the complex, intense, disturbing and action-packed storyline. It was certainly nothing like I had ever read before.

There were just a few things missing for me, at times I had to reread and go back a couple chapters thinking I had missed reading something since it seemed like a detail was missing but that wasn’t the case. So, I found myself having to piece a few things together on my own.

This was my first book by this author but I look forward to reading more from her in the future!

50 Shades of Gray…. with some Italian sexiness.
This is the first time I’m reading something by S.J. Molly, she brought an interesting new take on the dominant and submissive nature of some relationships. I was really intrigued by their backstories especially because they first met outside their therapists office.
The characters are well developed and I liked the different perspectives of the story. My only critique is that some of the dialogue was a bit repetitive. I also wish that the 4th book was also in the series.

Madeline Fay just got herself a new fan!!!
Spiteful Punks is the best book I’ve read in the last two years….. what does that mean…. well out of the 86 books I’ve read since January 2020 this is my favorite.
It’s DARK!!! GUT WRENCHING!!! NAIL BITING!!! TWISTED!!!! AND OOOOO SO SEXY!!!
I’m a huge fan of Dark Romance (The darker the better) and I just can’t put into words how much I loved this book.
The characters are expertly crafted especially Tillie, her multi layered character is absolutely perfect. She’s vulnerable but still strong with some sassy comebacks but most of all she’s a SURVIVOR!!!
I can’t wait to read the next book.
But be warned this book does have some heavy triggers!!!

I’ve always loved a good paranormal romance, but haven’t picked one up in quite a while. Revelations brought me back to my teen years when these kinds of reads were my absolute favorite! I loved that you got to know more than one couple in this book. Though it seemed to focus mostly on Zach and Emily, and I loved the start to their story. It definitely left off on a cliffhanger, but I’ll be coming back to see what happens next for this group of friends.

THE HUSBAND (21ST Century Courtesan #4) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Jenni Bishop

HUSBAND (21st Century Courtesan Book 4)HUSBAND by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 stars

The Husband (21st Century Courtesan Book 4) by Pamela DuMond is darker than the other books and is full of deceit, and revenge… Pamela as tightened the threads, added more layers and complexities, and it is all coming to a tumultuous head. I love that you never know where she will take you. It is a multi-layered story line and there are lots of emotions. It is dangerous and mysterious, as it is sexy and suspenseful, as it is dramatic, and it is definitely captivating in its uniqueness. It is also hot and full of lust and love, and loyalty.

Evie had quite a harrowing childhood and one tragic event shattered her young life and affects her past and presence. She is an empath who uses it to help others and is much sought after for her specific talents. Unfortunately, it is not just the past that is catching up with her.

I am waiting with bated breath for the arrival of the final book from this wonderful storyteller.

There’s teenage angst but not over the top and a good dose of chemistry with a splash of paranormal thrown in. Jill Brashear created a wonderful world set in Hawaii in the 1960s – a very different time and age to today! The attitudes of men towards women amongst other things was well written even if they drove me insane as 21st century woman! The insights into the world of Hollywood/TV shows of the era and especially that of stuntmen like Henry were fascinating! Definitely recommended as a fun, somewhat spicy read!

I don’t know whether to love it or hate it. It was such a good read. Tillie such an amazing female lead. The pain and trauma just unimaginable. The strength that it takes you push yourself to survive when everything is bringing you down. I was amazing how she kept trying and pushing herself to be better. The guys were the part that made me want to hate it. I don’t normally do harem stories so for there to be so many guys I cringed. Thought this story is well written the cringe wasn’t bad. It will definitely take some getting used to because it’s not my thing. But the author delivers such an amazing story. That I am willing to get over it and keep reading.

This story was sweet and dreamy. Claudia and Henry are dream characters. They give you all the feels and all the romance. While searching for a lost love you would’ve thought Claudia would find a new much more tantalizing love. A love so pure it has the readers falling too. I really loved how the characters were written. You got to bond with Claudia because she didn’t let game go to her head. She was down to earth and real. Henry is a dream. I was ready to be written into this story just to shoot my shot to him. These are the type of male characters that make dating for reads in real life so hard. Are expectations are really high. We want a man with flaws but also goes above and beyond for his woman. Definitely try this author out you won’t be disappointed!

If you appreciate lesser-known mythology and are looking for a story that reminds you vaguely of some of your favorite adventurous, royal families, this book should be at the top of your list. Even if you’ve never read the other books in this series, it’s quite easy to fall in line with the characters. You’ll quickly pick up on their stories without feeling overwhelmed with the details of their various activities up until this point. The book itself is full of adventure and mischief and is surprisingly enjoyable. Additionally, I found that unlike many stories that split the story between characters, I was able to follow along, interested in the stories that these families had to tell. Ultimately, it’s a detailed little story, with characters that are relatable and well-written and writing that fits the theme without being dull or unenthusiastic.

The Inheritance, The Story of an Unlikely Submissive AUDIO BOOK by India Kells – Review by Robin Rankin

The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive by India Kells

I was intrigued by this book when reading the synopsis so I thought I would give it a try since I have liked everything by Ms. Kells I have read or listened to so far.

The storyline was really good, I wish it had gone a little longer.  The narrator’s voice would get me so into the story that I would find myself stopping what I was doing just to listen more intently.

I hope to have the opportunity to listen to more by both. My
