Bernadette Marie once again knocked it out of the park with Walker Pride. It is the first book in the Walker Family series. This book centers around the eldest of the Walker children, Eric. We first meet him as he is dealing with his grandfather’s death. There were many characters in the story including 5 children each by Everett and Byron Walker. Surprisingly, it did not get confusing. The focus stayed on a small amount of characters, making it easy to keep up with who was who. There were also some context clues if you forgot who someone was. I found myself identifying with love interest Susan Hayes. She is a strong woman who has overcome much, yet allows herself to take a chance on love again. Eric is clumsy and awkward dating Susan which just made him even more endearing. Not only was this a romance, there was mystery. I was certain I knew who was behind the property destruction and animal deaths. I was completely wrong! I highly recommend reading this book. It was fun and kept me hooked!

I am a huge YA fan, and enjoyed this YA psychological thriller. Talk about creepy, the convent is hiding secrets……. or so you think. I enjoyed the characters, my heart aches for Paloma and her past with her dad. The character, Rubia, boy oh boy, when you think she is trying to have open arms and befriend Paloma, whom is new, Rubia is manipulative, and you catch on in the story. Only part that I am on the fence is the ending, I wanted more and it felt a bit abrupt. Overall a very good story with lots of twists and turns.
Anna Venu is a woman with a loving family, but one who holds many secrets, as she has grown up, she has realised that her grandmother didn’t want to share anything about her past as she lived her life travelling from Austria to Berlin and finally to the USA, she didn’t even tell her husband anything, she just acted as if it didn’t matter and nobody really pressed her, at least until one day just before she passed away when Anna asked her and she only told a snippet of a story about how she loved the zoo in Berlin, especially the zebra’s and how one saved her life during WWII when it blocked her from an artillery shell and losing it’s life in the process. However, a year later when she is feeling restless and nearly involved in an accident, she decides to go and visit her grandfather, he was a Seaman in the Navy and had written his story down in a book about how he survived a U-Boat attack and how he ended up meeting his wife, which Anna often revisited when she had the chance, however, on this particular day, he shows her a card with writing on the back addressed to her grandmother and a photograph which she always kept at her bedside, this is the starting point of a journey of discovery where Anna uses her pre-law training, her tenacity and determination to discover her grandmothers hidden past.
Anna is given access to some funds and decides to travel across the world to Austria and start at the beginning in the town of Sankt Gilgen in Austria where she goes to start to find out about her roots, this is when she realises that she has more family that she could have imagined as her search leads her to an old woman with a very detailed and large family tree and a story of why her grandmother distanced herself from them, it turns out that she fell in love with a soldier and refused to return to the family home after he tragically was killed in the war, instead deciding to become a nurse and stay in Berlin where she had gone to look for him.The next day when Anna shows the picture she brought with her, it turns out that it is a bit of a mystery as to why she didn’t look the same as in her portrait on the family tree, so Anna decides to go to Vienna where there is a military museum and try to get some more information about one of the men in the picture. When she gets there, she is rebuffed by a bored receptionist and then pointed in the right direction by a helpful security guard and meets the ex director of the museum, she asks for his help, however, it is not his area of expertise, but he knows someone whose it is. As Anna is put into contact with the next professor, she finds that she has to travel to Berlin and try and figure things out after their meeting, but she is passed onto a student as the professor hasn’t the time to deal with her request.
In this next stage of her journey, Anna finds out more about the people in the photograph, however, there is another mystery to solve when they are identified, they are not who she thought they were and so the next piece of the puzzle has to be sought and this leads her on a merry chase and discoveries which she would never have believed. Will she find out her grandmother’s past, or will it die with her when one lead after the other turns to nothing, or will what she discovers shake the very foundations of what Anna believed? This is a mystery with a historical basis which will challenge your perceptions, as well as teaching you about life at the time in the format of a thrilling mystery which will keep you intrigued throughout.

All i can say about Sons of Sindicato is oh my gosh. Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus had this reader hooked from chapter one in this mafia book. Their character descriptions are beyond words, you almost feel that they are real people standing in front of you. I found the flow of this novel to be catchy and very graceful, so much so that I read the whole thing in one sitting. Every character is just as important as the next, and you will find yourself quickly falling in love with not only the two main characters but also the axillary characters. Personally I have never been one for mafia books but Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus have completely changed my perspective and I for one can’t wait to see what happens next.

This is the first book I’ve read by Marie. To say that this book was fantastic would be an understatement. I can’t put into words how much I love this book.
Susan moved from Colorado to the lovely state of Georgia. She is getting her business off the ground by going to trade school and catering. She doesn’t expect to fall in love with the Walker Family and one Eric Walker. The quote I chose for Susan is: “I always thought it would be interesting to be a mail carrier or even a trash collector. Can you even imagine what they know?”
Eric is a homebody. He doesn’t like others being in his space. When his uncle decides that he wants to gamble away some of the Walker land he gives away Eric’s home. The quote I chose for Eric is: “You pave a path for yourself. His has been paved with mistakes the entire family has had to pay for.”

Paloma is a seventeen year old girl who has recently lost her father, so in an attempt to contact him she conducted a seance in school, but she really underestimated the effect it would have on the rest of the school’s population, fear and rumours of an indiscretion with a boy in a confessional spread like wildfire and resulted in her expulsion. However, the convent she is now approaching with her mother, step father and little sister looks more like a prison, a prison she only has to stay in for seven months, a prison ruled by nuns in black habits and full of orphans and less than perfect school children. As she enters through the front door, Paloma cannot but admire the building itself, but the nuns are not what she would have expected, or at least the one who answers the door isn’t. After she watches one girl get told off for lying and have her ear twisted as a punishment, they are interrupted by another nun, but this time, one in a whilte habit, Madre Superiore, the headmistress of the establishment and the one who takes the family to her office to go over the final details and oversee their goodbyes.
As the same nun from earlier escorts Paloma to her dormitory, she points out where the necessary places she will need to know about are, the dining room, the library, the dormitories and the floor where the nuns sleep and which is off limits to students and as they enter the dormitories, Paloma is introduced to one of the students she will be sharing the dormitory with called Rubia. Rubia helps Paloma to settle in and goes through the rules with her again while Paloma unpacks, but for some reason, she can’t put her finger on it, Rubia seems off, not rude or impolite, but indescifrable for some reason and that unsettles Paloma a little. Paloma also finds out that Rubia will be the one who will be helping her to catch up on the lessons she has missed between schools, to which Paloma reluctantly agrees, it is while she is unpacking that Paloma hears the waterfall through the open windows and has to stop herself from panicking and having flashbacks, but she manages and Rubia carries on with the tour of the convent.
As they talk more about the different nuns and a little about Rubia’s past, Paloma changes into her uniform and they head down for dinner, on their way Rubia introduces her to three other girls who are also in the same dormitory, Adelite who is the one who was being punished for lying earlier, who is very quiet and seems to always be far away in her own mind, Silvy, a girl with cat like eyes and delusions of grandeur with regards to her heritage and personality, but who is also always seeking attention and finally Maria, a bigger girl with a friendly smile and tortoiseshell glasses who seems to be close with Adelita and helps to keep her mind on what she is doing at the time. Each of the girls has a past and slowly as time progresses Paloma learns of them, but she also learns that they are nearly all interested in the seance and want to take part in one, all apart from Maria who is very dubious of the whole thing, however, they all agree to hold one, however, their reasons are slightly different for each of them and what they discover during the seance leads to a whole host of new questions and a mystery to solve.
A few days later, accidents start to happen and Paloma starts to believe that she is seeing and hearing things in the halls of the convent and in the graveyard outside, however when the accidents become fatal, Paloma risks everything to try and unravel the mystery, however, is it all in her head, or is there really a malevolent presence in the convent? Will she be able to solve the mystery or will there be nobody left to save? This is a thrilling and yet disturbing mystery which will keep you guessing right until the end while simultaneously leaving you wondering if it is all in Paloma’s imagination and not real at all.
Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus brings us into an intense world filled with wonderful, strong characters and creates an interesting foundation for what I think is going to be an amazing series. In this peak into the mafia world of the Sindicato we meet Seth, the son of the head of the Sindicato, and Braelynn (also known as Shaw), a young strong lawyer who after defending Seth has fallen for the powerfully intense and of course extremely hot man. After months of seeing each other secretly events bring their relationship out into the open and force them to face up to weather they are a couple meant to last or if pressures around them will be too much to bear. This is definitely a very exciting first step into this series and i personally can’t wait to read more!!! please keep them coming!!!

Zoe & Damien reunite in the most unexpected way in a strip club and with a misunderstanding turns into a fake relationship neither of them wants to fess up to their families.
The opening of the story is so spicy that I literally could not wait for the first :::seggs::: scene and it did not disappoint. Actually, the build-up was palatable that this book was definitely a page-turner. And the end was a sweet twist to the entire story development. Can not wait for the next book!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Ranew. The author knows how to keep you entertained from the beginning. Red Farlow Mysteries is an amazing series.
Red is up against another crime doer. This time it’s the chairman that’s dead. He injures himself once again. This time by falling off a building. Although he thinks he saw a young woman standing there. The quote I chose for Red is: “I remember that. Two tanks eventually went up. You could see the smoke from Macon.”
Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes is an absolutely amazing read. Ms. Jacks gives us a wonderful romance, her female character being all sugar and spice and everything nice, and her male character being incredibly sexy, what else can a romance reader ask for. Ms. Jacks scenery and word play are delightful, and her character development will have any romance lover not wanting to put the book down. I found myself hooked by the end of chapter one and constantly opening my kindle app with every spare moment I had to finish this book. So if you love romance, friendship, and great characters I highly recommend Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes.

I was blown away by how intense I felt throughout the entire book. The main characters are really difficult to pinpoint until the climax of the story. Even then the end still leaves you feeling like the movie “Shutter Island” before Leonard DiCaprio’s character realizes he is crazy. I will say the character histories, for me, needed a little more development especially the main character. Overall, a good mystery YA and unique in nature. Never read anything like this!

Via Mari is one of my favorite authors so I knew it would be amazing. You can read it as a standalone but I think you will enjoy it much more if you read the series. These books are full of danger, sex, hidden agendas, intrigue and romance. Of course this book is no different. This is Alexis and Sheldon’s story and Alexis find herself in a dangerous situation dealing with sex traffickers. Sheldon is determined to protect her no matter what it costs him. This book if full of romance and hot scenes so be prepared. I read it in one setting because I couldn’t put it down. Will Sheldon end up protecting Alexis or will he get hurt trying to protect her? Life’s A Witch Audio Book by Carrie Pulkinen is the third book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series. This is one so the most entertaining series that I have read and this book is no exception. Crimson is one of those characters that is so memorable and entertaining I could listen to this book just for her. She was brilliant when I was reading the book but listening to it she just came alive. I could picture her so much better and felt like you really got to feel her personality. I could so easily imagine everything from her mannerisms to try the way she spoke. For me this audio book was all about her. I am so glad that it is the same narrator for this book as it was was for the previous. She does such a great job of bringing the book to life and really makes it so easy to listen to. This is another brilliant success for one of my new favourite authors.

The Web Of Humanity: A Novel by Maria Turchin is a complex and detail led story that leads you on such a journey that you will be thinking about it for days afterwards. Once I had started this book I just could not put it down. I had no idea at all what to expect when I started it as this is a completely new author to me. What I got was a book so rich in detail and well developed that I got lost in it straight away. Everything about this book, from the storyline to the characters, was done just right. The book felt exciting and original. Even after it had finished I couldn’t stop thinking about it! This is utterly brilliant and I could not recommend it highly enough.

This novel lives up to its name. The sexual tension is through the roof! I love the world this series is set in. This time bodyguard Sheldon is trying to hold himself back from pursuing hairstylist Alexis, as he believes she is not a woman who can be a willing and obedient submissive in, but more importantly outside, of the bedroom. Alexis is attracted to Sheldon but isn’t willing to put herself out there without him showing he cares about her first. And in the background is the lingering threat of a man who couldn’t take Alexis’s “no” for an answer. He has a criminal record and is connected to human traffickers. Will this threat keep Sheldon and Alexis apart or bring them closer together? There were some parts of this novel that went way to quick for my liking. Names and situations listed out that made it hard to follow who was doing what, and what was going on where. This novel is certainly more focused on the relationship between Alexis and Sheldon rather than what’s going on in the mafia world. The Dom/sub relationship and world of sex clubs and BDSM are more prevalent in this novel as well. I love that throughout this series the males may be Dom’s and involved with the mafia, but they actively combat human trafficking and support the survivors. While the FMC’s are submissive she’s not meek and willing to let the male(s) handle everything. The women are strong and have decided if they are willing to embrace their submissive side only for their Dom.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and this latest book was exactly what I expected in the best possible way. Red Farlow is an intriguing main character to follow and this latest caper is a page turner in every sense of the word. If you enjoy a good crime caper that will keep you entertained and guessing, this book and series are definite must reads!
Is it really possible to go back to the one you left behind? Can he really accept you back into His loving arms? This book is just about that. Mafia Princess Milana left to get away from the insanity of the Sindicato life and pursue her dreams. But that means she has to leave the man that owns her heart behind. Fast forward to years later and she now knows Dane is what she wants. But did she burn that bridge to the ground? I enjoyed this book even though I wanted to hit both of the main characters. But this book was good and I am looking forward to the next in the series

This was a fascinating read from a new author.. I found it very interesting considering today’s world. She makes the plotline realistic I love the comparisons as to why geodome is better than the round domes The many secrets to the colonies. Campbell has a lot to deal with – leaving his family, which girl does he want to be with; and life’s ultimate question, where does he belong? T.S. takes on a pretty cool journey through Australia and Scotland (buckle up, it’s a doozy). This is the first of a series and I can’t wait to read more. So many questions left to be answered.

Chameleon was a deep dark tale and enveloped me from the first page. I was so entranced by Ms. Kalo’s characters and words that I finished it in one sitting. As amazing as this book is tread with caution it contains a few triggering things including rape, mental illness, and psychological manipulation…but over all it was a great gothic/creepy book that gave me chills during several scenes. Giving us a wonderful creepy, mysterious setting, she will magically hook you from the beginning. Ms. Kalo’s characters are well- developed and her story flows effortlessly, I look forward to seeing more from her.
This was fast paced, adventure story packed with action and twists. Mari was amazing as the lead female protagonist, strong and competent and so brave. Completely kick arse and I love that she was the one doing the rescuing. Set in the Columbian jungle, Mari is tasked with rescuing Chris in exchange for her freedom to live in the US and leave her old life behind. I didn’t realise that this was the second book in the series and so I am intrigued to read the first and any follow ups. I really enjoy McKinley as a writer and I felt that Regan Brown did a fantastic job of bringing her novel to life.

WOW!!!… I don’t really know what to say about Luce Eterna Part One. My brain is totally scrambled and my emotions are all over the place. I’ll need some time to recover from this book. SJ Molloy was new to me until I discovered this series and now I can’t give her enough praise for this amazing series. This has definitely been the most powerful, emotional book of the series so far. This book is so different from the first 4 books in that the tables have totally turned for Lucca and Lexi. Lexi has struggled with major anxiety due to a horrifying childhood and Lucca has totally been her rock, the person who grounded her. Now Lexi has recently given birth prematurely to twins and is excited to start a life as a family when their world is turned upside down. Surprisingly Lexi is the strong one who takes charge while Lucca totally falls apart. My emotions were all over the place. One minute I felt heart sorry for Lucca, then in a blink I wanted to kick his butt and tell him to get a grip. On the other hand sometimes I loved Lexi and other times I wanted her to calm down and just give Lucca a hug. I didn’t know which side I was on. It changed from page to page. This is a deep and dark book, like the previous books in the series. I recommend that you have some tissues handy as this book is heartbreaking. I really can’t wait to read the climax of this amazing story.

Full of history, mystery, and great characters, this is a must read story for anyone who enjoys historical fiction. The vivid descriptions and colorful characters make the story relatable, heartwrenching, and take the reader back in time. With unique story telling styles and talent, Maria Turchin has written a wonderful masterpiece.
One of the most enjoyable parts of the book is that for most chapters, the final sentence of a chapter is the first sentence of the next chapter. I enjoyed this as a good way to streamline the story. Anna is a very real person in the story, and the reader can feel her excitement, anguish, and determination throughout the entire story.

THE DEVOTED FAN (21ST Century Courtesan Book 5) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond. This is the final book in this amazing series and the conclusion was just as good as I had hoped. This is the story of Evie who used to be a high paid empath for men. They would pay enormous amounts of money to be with her and she healed many men but when she fell in love she couldn’t save him. When Wyatt died he left her with everything he had acquired. His millions, his homes, his dogs everything. She even has become really close with his brother. When Evie finally feels like she might be getting her happy back someone from her past shows up and tries to ruin her happiness. Will they succeed or will she finally end up happy with someone who has loved her a very long time. These books have so many layers and twists and turns that I really recommend reading each book slowly or rereading them which is what I did! You will not be disappointed if you read these books!

Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes by Danielle Jacks was a fantastic romance that I couldn’t put down!
The story follows Zoe Merrill, a woman trying to strike out on her own in the big city who loses her boyfriend and her job. She runs into Damien Chuke, an old rival and ex-bestie to her brother, who has dreams of performing in London’s West Enid. Situations arise where they fake a relationship and it’s such fun to follow along their journey! I finished this book in a day and I can’t wait to consume the second one! I couldn’t put this down. The characters connection was believable and fun. I caught myself laughing out loud multiple times. (: Definitely give this one a read.

Blood Mug (Red Farlow Mysteries Book 4) by W.F. Ranew. I LOVE this series and this book just became my new favorite. I may have a crush on Red Farlow and its grows with each book. In this installment Red is headed to Atlanta to meet with the Wickham Art Chairman and when he arrives the he finds out the Chairman has been murdered. Red is obviously hired to find out who killed him. While the bodies continue to pile up Red is getting deeper and deeper into the investigation. Each body is murdered by a dagger and its always left in the body. How will this clue help Red figure out who the murderer is? When he finds out their are some very wealthy investors out for blood he gets closer and closer to finding out the truth. You don’t have to read the previous books to understand this book but I really think you will enjoy the series more if you do! If you love murder/mystery books do yourself a favor and read this series today!
I enjoyed this paranormal story. This is the second book in this series and I will be going back to read the first one as well. This is a newer author for me and I look forward to reading more from them in the future. This is a well written story about Kaysee and the adventure she goes on to get her husband back after he was abducted. This is a story that is full of action which kept me turning pages. There is so much going on in this story but the author did a great job of keeping me from getting confused. The characters are not only relatable but also bring the story to life on each page. I am glad I picked up this book and so will you be. I highly recommend this book.
I enjoyed this mystery with a touch of romance. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to seeing what is next in the future. This is a well written story that kept me engaged and turning pages to the end. The characters bring the story to life through the author’s attention to details. This is a great story that will take you on an adventure in finding a missing Celt but they just may find more than what they are expecting. This is such a great story. It is fun and entertaining to read. It was easy to read and understandable. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her stories pull you in from the beginning. Her writing skills and attention to details make the story engaging and gives it a realistic feel. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled in from the beginning. The characters are connectable and truly bring the story to life on each page. They are strong paranormal characters that made the story fun and entertaining to read. This is a story about Tamara who thinks she is done with men and dating and also has a past that seems to keep coming to the present and his name is Josh. He is determined to have her but is her heart to broken? Will he convince her that he is everything she needs? I enjoyed the growth throughout the story which kept me turning pages. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
