My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Italian-American Gianna Bellini has come to Venice to restore and complete a fresco mural for Francesca Marcello whom she met in the States. Part of the job description is to restore that painting to its original splendor and then to complete the third section which had not been completed.

Upon arrival to Venice, Gianna has an unsettling experience as she walks the streets and feels like this isn’t her first time in Venice. After a gondola tour of the city provided by her sponsor, Gianna has an experience that leaves her disoriented. When she pulls herself back to reality, she finds herself in the arms of a handsome Italian man, Sergio.

Feeling an instant attraction, Gianna and Sergio begin dating. Gianna has vivid dreams of a time a century before when a forever love was abruptly taken from a couple. Can Sergio hold onto her as these dreams keep haunting her? Will their love be the forever love that puts these spirits to rest?

This is a remarkable story of the past and the present laying the foundation for a love that can only be described as predetermined by the fates. Amy McKinley does it again! I have enjoyed every book that I have read that is written by her. I will keep coming back for more of her stories.
