This is a standalone story full of romance. Gianna is in Venice to restore a family fresco painting, however, from the moment she arrives it feels like she has come home, even more so once she meets the handsome Sergio.
The story blends the present day and a tragic past through dreams and flashbacks experienced by Gianna. There are still mysteries surrounding the past and it appears that history may be repeating itself.
The build up of the story was engaging and maintained a level of suspense that kept me reading.
I struggled to connect with Gianna or Sergio, I just didn’t feel like I got to know them very well. Although I was pulled along by their love story, I didn’t feel like I watched them fall in love as there was an insta-love kind of relationship and it was all interlinked with the flashbacks.
