This was a really beautifully written book about one person’s family  history. I love how the history was written in letters given down the generations.

It follows a family’s history from being slaves to white people to the first black president. The story is interesting and really opens your eyes to what people had to go through in the past when things were all against them just because of the colour of their skin.
It was a captivating read that I really enjoyed.
