The Heart of Baker’s Bay was the first book I read by Danielle Jacks and I loved it. Its a really cute, clean romance book and I didn’t want to put it down. The characters are great, with wonderful realistic personalities, and the chemistry between them is entertaining. The supporting characters are well written too, not just the main two. Jody is stubborn and full of spunk and Adam is like a grumpy old man, but with good reason. The town of Clover Bay sounds wonderful, on the top of a hill, secluded from the rest of the world, but in reality, only a couple hours outside of the city. This book had my emotions on a roller coaster, many times laughing, sometimes in near tears, and then a good happy ending. I highly recommend it, and look forward to reading more by Jacks.

Jody not a one for settle but finds herself in trun when she needs to be there and do things for the family. A wildfire at best can she do this. The interaction are slow and it builds up through the story which is refreshing to see. Adam he’s not what I liked at frist His character grew on me though. This is what I noticed through this book people grow in you just like life.

Manda Mellett does not disappoint. This is the second book of hers I read, and once again, the characters are flawed, relatable, and complex. It’s easy to get Lost (see what I did there?) in the world of bikers that she builds. I loved that the MC’s were older. I love the close bonds of family and friendship that exists between the members of the Satan’s Devil MC. The mystery was intriguing, and the character and story development was exciting to experience. My only problem is now I think I will need to read her entire collection… Oh no, there goes my TBR!

I enjoyed this short steamy read. I love that Poppy was a sweet, cute, nerd and her neighbor Turner was totally into that type. She was so lovely and naive, thinking that she wouldn’t really be anyone’s type but little does she know that Turner has been wanting her for weeks. The misunderstanding at the bbq shows how truly introverted she is, and Turner is so sweet to not give up on her. I look forward to what comes next.

Disturbingly creepy book. Loved every minute of it. Revenge plotted with a capital R. Blamed on the father yet he plan’s it out with the art of a pro on people who picked on him. You will feel the chills throughout this book. Through in a psychotic mentally disturbed stalker and you have the makings of a terrific thriller. Best crime book I’ve read in a while. Well plotted and well-developed characters.

This is a very well thought out and detailed work. While I balked initially at the list of names at the start of this book, each was introduced well, and it was fairly straightforward to follow. The story itself is deeply layered and clearly a lot of planning went into creating this diverse and interesting multiverse. The imagery was rich and colourful, making it easy to imagine these worlds and beings. I loved the character of Queen Neferities, with her wisdom and insight into her world. This is a well-written Sci-Fi that lovers of the genre will enjoy.

Beginnings and Endings is a trio of short stories by Jane Suen. I really enjoy the variety of Suen’s work – I had read several of her books before it really clicked for me that they were by the same author! – and this collection really showcases her skill in storytelling. It gets four stars from me! Although the three stories are separate and distinct, there is a thread running through them of commitment in relationships. We see couples’ relationships developing and enduring through the ups and downs of life. My main (only?) complaint is that there isn’t more! The stories themselves are quite short and with only three of them (plus a bonus really cute flash fiction) this will not take most readers very long to read at all. I would have loved a wider variety of stories – perhaps including some in the realm of speculative fiction – that I could dip in and out of. I would recommend this collection to readers looking for stories they can quickly enjoy in a coffee break or similar. They’re short, satisfying and thought-provoking. I think they could also work really well for reading and discussing with teenagers, as accessible stories touching on important issues as well as excellent examples of the short story format.

An engaging MM thriller romance which does have trigger warnings and is book two in the ‘Remember My Name Series’ but can be read as a standalone story. Wren Stafford is an Empath, and so the intrusive feelings of others enter his mind and haunt his dreams. Having met the love of his life, Henry, Wren was pleased to put the pain of his past behind him but then he started having predictions of terrible atrocities to come. Although Wren warned his husband, Henry was found murdered and soon after Wren was named the prime suspect. Whilst being condemned by the public and harassed by the police Wren is also having nightmares of his own death, but he is determined to continue his hunt for Henry’s killer. As Wren tries to find clues in his visions to stop the murderer he is running out of time and may even become the next victim. This is a fast paced page turner of a novel which had me gripped from start to finish. The plot twists kept me guessing until the end of the story, which kept me hooked. An exciting storyline and great characters along with the authors descriptive narrative all added to the overall atmosphere of this suspenseful thriller, with a touch of the paranormal in Empath Wren.

The Heart of Baker Bay by Danielle Jacks. I love Danielle Jacks books but this one was really good. Once I started I had trouble putting it down. Its the story of Jody who has gone home after her Grandma (Gran) has a wreck to run her seaside cafe. Jody has had so many jobs in her life so when she gets fired at her latest job she sees it as the perfect opportunity to go home and take of Gran. No one has ever been able to really rely on Jody but she is determined to prove them wrong. Jody thinks things are going to be all nice and quiet but when Adam walks in Jody is smitten. Adam has no desire for a relationship and sees Jody as too high and might for him but as he gets to know her he realizes there is more to her than meets the eye. I am totally all in with this book! The narrator was truly fantastic in this audio as well. This book is full of twists and turns with suspense, fighting MMA, mafia and mobsters. I loved the spark between Aleksei and Deva. Having a strong female character with Deva, I enjoyed her spirit no non-sense style. Deva comes back from being away as a favor and has to get close to Aleksei whom has some dark ties. This book is just so fantastic, cannot wait to continue this series.

Remember His Name is the 2nd book in the Remember My Name Series by Laurencia Hoffman. It is loosely a series, with not as much overlap/continuation as I would have hoped. I with they were more intertwined, as there were only a couple small mentions of overlap. I wish there was more time spent on the killer and how or why he chose his victims. I would have liked it to be a continuation of the first book, as it had a massive cliff hanger ending. That said, I am not totally disappointed in this series, it was good and held my interest. It just left me longing for more. It is a story that focuses on Wren and his heartache and pain throughout life, being an empath. The story starts out with Wren as a child, and there is a lot of focus put on his dad, and his job. I thought maybe it would take a Mafia twist, but it just kind of set the groundwork for the rest of the story. Without giving it away, I hope the character introduced toward the end gets a book of her own. I want to know what comes of her and to know what happens to the killer… is he caught? Do we learn the why behind it? This book has a trigger warning, and pay attention to it if it might bother you. These themes are strong throughout.

This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by this author. I enjoyed being pulled into this story by the characters. This is a well written story that I found to be engaging and fast paced. This is a romance story that has characters that pop off the pages and into your heart. They are relatable and just made the story entertaining to read. Jody has come to a new town to help her grandmother but she is not very reliable. Adam wants so much to not like Jody but he finds that he can’t help himself. What will fate have in store for them? Could it have a happy ending? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to these two characters.

This book is fantastic! I devoured it in one sitting, and have already started on Book 2.
The writing is engaging, and the plot hums along at a good pace. I love how Gruber has drawn the characters – they are each so unique and are intricately drawn. The book is by turns suspenseful, hilarious, and romantic. The interplay between the two potential love interests, Marcus and Dylan, had me switching back and forth deciding which to root for! Jude is frighteningly intelligent and his character brings drama and humour to the story. There’s some layers here that I appreciated, setting it on a higher level of writing in my opinion. Buy the book!

This book was a quick, sweet read. It did take a little bit to get into but once I did, I really enjoyed the story. I liked the development of how Adam’s walls were built due to having his heart broken by an outsider yet Jody, an outsider, helped tear them down. Jody’s struggle with confidence is understandable especially with having the type of relationship she had with her older sister. I would definitely read more books by this author.

This is a new author for me which I enjoyed from beginning to end. This is a historical suspenseful story. I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. This is a well written story that has characters that gives the story life on each page. They are relatable and truly made the story for me. This is a story about Veronica and her family history. She starts digging into her history when she finds that there is a killer gene. Now she is faced with keeping her baby and herself safe and away from evil. What will happen when the two come face to face and things really heat up. This is a story that is full of action and I had a hard time putting it down. It did have a few twists and turns that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed this book and what the characters brought to the story. I highly recommend this book.

This is a set of three short stories. Each one has their own easy to read plot. The first is a happy love story between to college students. The second is a haunting but realistic story of a soldier back from war. The third is a happy but also a tragic story of a father and son trip to a carnival and farm. All three of these short stories I can see being built on and added to other books or becoming books of their own. The author wrote them well and I can’t wait to read more in the future! If you want some small quick stories to read these ones are great!!

I enjoyed this book. This is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is the first book in this series and I can’t wait to see what is next in this series. I found this book to be a well written story that has a little bit of everything in it. It is full of mystery, action and even a little romance. The characters brought the story to life and kept me turning pages. This is an engaging story that I had a hard time putting down. This is a story about Nash who is a Marine returning home and not expecting to meet Betsy. She is falling for him. This is where the story takes on suspense and mystery. I enjoyed the chemistry and growth throughout this story with these two. The attraction is there from the beginning. Nash is a hurt Marine but Betsy has her own fears that must be overcome. What happens to these two you will have to read this book to find out. It really is a great story that I enjoyed and I highly recommend it.

The Halfling’s Court is a truly great story, and the characters and plot produced in the writing of Danielle Ackley-McPhail are remarkable. I loved reading this book because of love for all things fae and the motorcycle club angle. The loyalty of an MC goes beyond anything that I have ever encountered.

He knows that his mother was fae and his father is human, but his mother died in childbirth. This is the second book in the Code Of Honour Series. It was a really enjoyable book. Even though it is part of a series it can be read and enjoyed on its own. I love the characters. The author does an amazing job of making character’s you fall in love with. The story itself is fast paced and you can’t put it down because you want to find out what happens to the characters.
Jody has always been stuck in her twin sisters shadow. For all her life she has had to stay in the background as her sister become famous and adored. Just once she wants someone to see her. She gets her wish when she meets Holt in a bar. Is he attracted to her or is it because he thinks she is her twin.

Georgia Clay by KG Fletcher is the first book in the Southern Promises series. I really enjoyed reading the story of a romance between a country music writer and a career-minded woman. The two seem an unlikely pair but it develops from a long night of talking to a long-distance romance. Can Georgia Clay and Katie Parker make their differences work? I liked these characters because they are not just young, beautiful, and talented but still have a realness to them. There are struggles and moments of being unsure but the two matches each other well. I read through this quickly and did not want to put it down until I finished the story. I appreciate the author putting so much of herself into the book with her knowledge of the music business in Nashville to create a realistic and engaging read. I look forward to where this series goes next and reading more from this author soon.

This is a series I am going to have to finish from start to finish. I loved it truly with all my soul. The characters were beyond relatable, and that normally is something I will go out of my way to find for representation in my self when reading a book. And I basically was more than drawn with relations both to the main characters. This story was beautiful, emotional, and worth every page with every word I read.
I must have a say in the way the story flowed, the author knew certainly how to draw her readers in, tease them with some nice treats, and lead them more down the rabbit hole of the book. I had a few nights of not sleeping so I went to read, I told myself again and again just a few more pages, and those turned into a few more chapters, and that turned into oh would you look at that, I fished the book!
SO Yes Indeed Wyatt and Annabelle were relatable to me. They had hardships, but not just any hardships, it was events they had each gone thru in their life times that shaped them to be who they are today along with their wounded hearts. The ability to prevent themselves from finding love and trust in someone, or let alone using those two words in the same sentence. They did not have a fairy tale romance experience, but perhaps this second encounter of coming back into one another’s life, perhaps there was something stull burning that they felt was burned out long ago?
Yes they had their similarities, and both were quite strong willed. I found they both were also as fragile as a fortune cookie. But what both of them didn’t know, is not how much they wanted, but how much they needed one another Not just in their lives, but to fix their hearts that both have been wronged so much before and to finally, give their hearts a chance to heal and feel again.
This book helped me reflect on my past relationships. The memories they brought me, the the sad and emotional times, and the hurt and trust issues I had gained from them. And how it made me not want to find love as I felt it was easier not to get hurt. I met my now husband by a sheer chance of fate, and I learned when you have a chance to male a leap and feel all you need even how afraid you are, just hold your breath and take that jump.
Annabelle and Wyatt had to do just that. It wasn’t easy to gallop or walk down the road from both their ends, but in the end they had a connection they could not deny and they chose the path that was best for them and learned from this experience, not just about themselves, but about life, love, and to trust their hearts, for when its telling you something, even though how scary and crazy it may sound you are best to trust your heart fully with no doubts.
This was a inspirational, beautiful, captivating, as well as moving series. It brought on a lot of smiles and emotions for me. I’m so happy I read this book and walked in Wyatt’s and Annabelle’s shoes, I learned a lot not just about them, but about myself as well as realizing how lucky I am to be married to the love of my life.
Amazing start to a series. I can not wait for the next one as I will be anxiously waiting for the next book. This author knows how to write and bring forth beautiful writing and a beautiful story.

Can he follow his dreams as well? Can he find love and heal from his nightmares? Only reading this book will tell. Olivia Sherwood has written one of the best love stories. In my humble opinion. Her characters both have broken hearts. She has taken these two unlikely souls and brought them together. This page turner will keep your interest intrigued, and keep you turning those pages. This book has it all. It’s funny to the point of laughing out loud, and a struggle that will keep you on the edge. This is just a good Ole fashion love story. I love this author and her characters. Unlikely in Love was the first book I’ve read by Ashlie Knapp and I fell in love with it from the beginning. Told in dual POV of Annabelle and Wyatt, we see each of their inner feelings and turmoil they go through. Annabelle gets the surprise of a lifetime when the lawyer reads her grandmothers will and states the amount of money she’s been in the dark about. When she gets asked by Wyatt if she needs help on the farm, she’s shocked and also instantly attracted. She guards her heart and he hides his pain. Can she move past the mistakes she’s made? Wyatt is a war hero and deemed not ready for work, but that doesn’t stop his dads meddling. As he works on Annabelle’s farm, and then starts to date her, he’s happy again. When Annabelle’s nice gesture backfires, he needs a few days alone. But the pain of not seeing her is worse than he expected. Can they move forward? Who knew Annabelle’s crazy grandma could essentially bring these two together even if she’s no longer here. I loved these two and their friends as well, I was laughing along with them all. These two were so different and they complimented each other well. I can’t wait to read more from this author and I hope maybe we see someone for Griff??!!

Wow! Just wow. I could not put into an opening line for words to express what I had just finished reading. This book had everything I could have wanted in this novel, it gipped me, held me tight, even if I wanted to pull away, I wouldn’t have been able to I had a strong need and desire to read the next page..
In my younger years I took high school courses and some college on true crime and forensics. Needless to say the Lizzie Borden Murders always strongly intrigued me and not to how she did it, but why. What flipped that switch that led to the ax murders…so when I heard of this amazing novel, and read what the story focused on, there was not a simple hesitation in my mind, I HAD to read this book and read the take on it and the characters the story line surfaced around. Needless to say, this was beyond anything I could have hoped for, it was dark and very much perfect for this fanatic about things as this!
I will be honest and upfront, for the first time ever I would say, me connecting to at least one character did not happen. I was so withdrawn from the characters that they did not represent a piece of me. But this just made them all and the story line that so much captivating!
Another note to add which I truly loved about this group, there were many story lines and they get woven with the main character the novel circles around. There was more than meets the eye with this novel, I didn’t only test the water of my own thoughts while reading this, there were moments I was in disbelief, and shock to the twists and turns the author had done, which was extremely dark and gripping in every which way I would say.
The lead character Troy, is a character you can not put into short term words. He has issues, but not just issues people may face on a daily basis, but issues in sense where they are quite worrisome and he doesn’t even realize the help he needs…He strongly needed some therapy for his mind but is doing anything but that…leading up to what I believe would have caused his psychosis is the murder of his mother. He feels guilt I believe based on fact he could not save her from the torment and abuse his father had done to her, which resulted one night in him killing her.
Lets talk on the story line of Veronica. She was twisted and messed up in her own ways too, do I dare say perhaps she was actually worst in the cognitive mind from Troy? One word to describe my first impression of her? Stalker….not just any either…she appears that she is having Troy’s child. A lot of events spiral over this…leading to another big thing that came of Veronica, she dug into Troy’s time line of his family, but she dug farther than perhaps she should have bringing forth the Lizzie Borden gene that has been passed down from family to family….when you put two characters with minds that are maybe of more ill intent thank you think, and bring this news, you know all too well, something was to happen. I got to say, this was more than I expected, it brought forth a lot of feelings, and shock and the darkness that was leaping off the pages. Which made me love it more!
Honestly, how the story line goes for Veronica until the plot around her is wrapped up, is what very much made this book. Honestly you need to read it and then ask me to have a discussion with you about it. I was left more than speechless, I was gripped and tossed against the wall, and left wanting more as this story was wrapping up.
The story was beyond perplexing and the author is crazily talented with their writing skills, character writing and how they went thru the story and how the plot unfolded.
To say I am impressed is a understatement. I can not express enough how much I enjoyed this This was a first time read by this author, but now I must obtain the rest of the books and see how my mind of what I expect and think I know…can truly be tested.
Again pick this book up and read it. Let your mind wander and get lost into the pages of the book. I can not stress enough, you will not be disappointed or let down in any way.

Bad Man on Campus is book three in the Big Men on Campus series by Stephanie Queen. This high quality second chance romance was often hard to read as it pulled on the old heart strings, but easy to relate to. These characters were high school sweethearts who lost their way. Life was often cruel and my heart hurt for Glory. I got the feeling that both were missing pieces of themselves. Tragedy reigned, but love triumphed. They were given another chance at that elusive ever after.
Bad Man on Campus was a scorching hot read that will arouse and astound. A gripping tale that left fond memories. 4 stars

Brooke May’s second book, Taking Flight in the Code of Honor series is a military romance story that it is so easy to get lost in. Brooke’s characters are written in such a way that you become fully invested in them and so immersed in their lives. Brooke is one of those authors that you see her name and you just have to have the book. Grab a drink and settle in for a while and relax into this sweet story.
Fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be even if you aren’t the star and Military life can be hard and some down time gave more than they both thought possible. But the one thing they both can agree on is the freedom to fly.

Danielle Ackley-McPhail’s The Halfling’s Court (A Bad-Ass Faerie Tale Book 1) is a Fae MC a modern urban fantasy tale. Where Sons of Anarchy meets Lord of The Rings. He is half human and half fae and this guy is a great leader of an MC. He is on a journey to reconcile with a past he knows nothing about. Danielle pulls out all the stops to give us a mixed-up cast of fun characters with secrets and lies, trials and tribulations, danger and perils, good vs evil along the way. I would have liked to see this as a full novel and more depth in the characters but having said that it is an engaging read. Hang on and enjoy the ride.

Jane Suen has given us short stories in Beginnings and Endings: A Selection of Short Stories. Even though the stories are very short Jane did not skimp on the descriptive content. Each one is as different as night and day and evoke emotions a little pain, a bit of sweetness and a little bit of fun. Jane has mixed a lot of heart and feels in to make the stories memorable. My only complaint is they were too short. It would be good to see them made into longer stories. And just when you thought you were finished Jane gave us a little added bonus.
