My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ripley Luna has decided it’s time to end her life. She suffered through unspeakable childhood trauma, which led to her never reaching her goal of becoming an astronaut. Told through diary entries and the view of her psychologist, Drifting, Falling–Diary of a Call Girl Suicide is a book that gives the reader pause. Ripley is a likeable enough character, and the author does a great job of portraying her thoughts and feelings as if you are reading a real diary. The way the novel is written, there is a lot of history and facts interspersed throughout. This was a neat aspect of the story because it made Ripley, and her musings in her diary, seem more real.
This is not a happy story, where everything is wrapped up in a neat little bow at the end. I finished it a few hours ago and am still thinking on it. It’s one that I will remember for a long time.
