The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven Book 2) by Pauline Gruber – Review by Kerry Carr

The Girl and the Gargoyle (The Girl and the Raven, #2)The Girl and the Gargoyle by Pauline Gruber
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in the Girl and the Raven series. This is a captivating young adult story. I would really recommend reading book 1 first so that you get to know all the characters and how they come to be where they are now. I love our leading lady Lucy. She is strong willed and determined and full of fight which she is going to need in this story.

We are back with Lucy after the ending in the 1st book her life has been turned upside down when she finds out she is half-witch, half- demon.

Things get more complicated when her father (demon side) reappears and wants her in his life. But is he back just because she’s his daughter or is something more sinister behind it? Now fearing for the lives of the people she loves Lucy does as her father wants to avoid his anger.

Things also take another turn when her boyfriends mother returns into his life. His mother wants Marcus to leave and rejoin her and his father as protectors. His father however wants Marcus to help him kill Lucy’s father. However if Jude dies so will Lucy.

Now Marcus is on a race against time to save Lucy while Lucy is trying to protect her father. There are so many twists and turns and secrets in this book that you will always be wondering what will happen next.
