My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a couple of books from this author and she always surprises me with her written skills. This is the second book of the Mother’s and Daughters collection. You can read this as a stand alone as well but the first book is just as good. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put this book down until the end. This story exceeded all my expectations. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story.

Betty Hamilton gets pregnant at a young age in the 1950s and her parents send her to a house that makes her ashamed of her life. She is forced to give up her daughter to a couple she never gets to meet. Betty is thrown out on her own to make a new life for herself. Her daughter Marlena never thought for one second that she was adopted until her dad told her the truth. She is in complete shock and she wants to learn more about why she was given up by her birth mother. Marlena starts to uncover the truth about her past and finds things that she can’t believe happened. Will Marlena find her birth mother before it’s too late or will it already be too late?
