Wow just wow is all I can say. I love paranormal romance books and this definitely filled that love. I really like how the author is able to bring the characters to life and bring the story alive. I really like the bits of drama entwined into the story. I really found myself drawn into this series and this being the second book in the series really did not disappoint. I like the chemistry between the characters and how the story really flows on from the first. I really could not put this book down and so look forward to reading the next in this series and more from this author.

Shore Lodge: A high-stakes psychological thriller (The Millersville series)Shore Lodge: A high-stakes psychological thriller by Susan Specht Oram
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shortly after the death of her husband, store owner Jackyln Stone is convinced to ‘visit’ a retreat center… Little does she know/expect that her own son would have her committed to what turns out to be Shore Lodge psychiatric facility. This is one of the best psychological thrillers I’ve read! From the beginning of the story, I was drawn in and really felt connected/emotionally invested in the main character’s situation. There’s such a raw and realistic element to this story that it makes the reader’s imagination go wild…and makes me question trusting my own blood in the future. I’m looking forward to the next book!

My Inner CriticMy Inner Critic by Christine Bernard
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As an introvert myself, I found this book to be extremely relatable! I feel like I’ve found a mirror of myself within these pages, even if it is part fiction, and I enjoyed the ride. Everyone has their own story to tell, their own inner critic to deal with, and external struggles that they go through in life. I love how this author used her own story and was able to give us a story that so eloquently illustrates their own path. This is a must-read I’ll be recommending to my friends in the future!

Shore Lodge is the first book in The Millersville Series by Susan Specht Oram. It is the first book by this author that I have read, but after finishing this, I can honestly say that it won’t be the last. I was drawn to the book by the intriguing, yet somewhat eerie cover. It held the promise of a gripping psychological thriller- so who was I to pass up the chance for a gripping read. The story certainly lived up to expectations, keeping me engrossed in the developments the whole way through to the end.
Jacklyn Stone is left reeling after the sudden death of her husband and everything that came with his passing. She is lost in her grief, as most people would be after losing their spouse and friend of 33 years. She struggles with keeping up with daily tasks, let along running her business, as the stress of it all wears heavy on her. She has two grown children, who worry about her welfare, prompting her son to suggest taking a break away from it all, and even going so far as recommending a retreat on a small island for her to unwind and decompress for a few days. Jacklyn decides to go- only to discover that things are not as they seem when she gets there. And so the tension mounts, discoveries are made, agendas are revealed, as the stakes get higher.
Looking forward to seeing what Susan Specht Oram does next.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Susan Specht Oram!

The Fifth Daughter of Thorn Ranch by Julia Brewer Daily – Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

The Fifth Daughter of Thorn RanchThe Fifth Daughter of Thorn Ranch by Julia Brewer Daily
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book I have picked up by this author and this makes the second book by this author that I have enjoyed. You have Emma, heir to The Thorn Ranch, young Emma, and Josie, Emma’s moms point of view throughout the book. The Thorn is a ranch that has been in Emma’s family for decades, and while it’s not your typical line of succession, this ranch is passed down to the only child in each generation, always a daughter. As a strong willed, smart, well rounded, independent woman Emma’s makes a great main character. The Thorn is so big that no one has ever been able to properly explore the land because there is an entire community existing below ground, and in caves on the property. Emma accidentally stumbles upon these people who call themselves The People, and desperately trying to protect their secret refuse to allow Emma to return home. After Emma accepts that she will be their awhile and starts to work closely with them I began to appreciate and even enjoy Chatpa, and Kai, and hoped that when competition for Emma’s hand began he would enter the competition, compete, and he ultimately won. In the process of wowing her Emma begins to fall for Kai and is torn by if she really wants to return or stay with The People until other males bring back a group of woman for wives and introduce a grave sickness into the community and everything begins to turn bad. I was a little confused when Emma began referring to the ‘sickness’ as Covid immediately although she had been kidnapped almost a year at this point and couldn’t have known what it was unless the woman that were brought into the fold said so but I don’t remember that happening. I appreciated having both Emma and Josie’s point of view because that keeps you up to date on what’s happening in the real world vs in the caves. Although I was sad at first with how I assumed the book was going to end the author surprised me and set the ending up beautifully to maybe continue with another book for a series but ultimately thrilled Emma seemed to be remembering Kai and she was starting to see a future between the two of them with him helping her with the ranch. Who knows maybe some of the traditions are due to change in the future.

Tink (Devil’s Handmaidens MC Book 1) by D.M. Earl – Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

Tink (Devil's Handmaidens MC-Book One)Tink by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tink by D.M. Earl is a book that covers some intense, potentially reactive subject matter like rape, abuse, stalking, and trafficking of children, and adults. This series, The Devils Handmaidens MC, focuses on a women’s motorcycle club instead of your typical male dominated motorcycle club, even though they are mentioned throughout the book, for example The Intruders, and the Grimm-Wolves, which I thought was a new, refreshing take that I haven’t read much of. I loved Tink, a fierce, sassy, independent woman, and Noodles, an ex Navy Seal, and their romance, but I think Shadow, as Tink’s best friend, really stood out throughout the book. The focus of this club was to find and break up trafficking rings, support, and rehabilitate the survivors/victims. Tink and Shadow are tortured by their own private demons that they keep hidden because of something that had happened in their pasts. When Tink meets Noodles he begins to pull her from a darkness of her own making until the past comes to call and brings all her nightmares front and center. This is a suspenseful, thrilling book, that I couldn’t put down, and I’m incredibly glad that I took a chance on. I’m looking forward to book number two and seeing who manages to thaw Shadows ‘black heart’.

I have to say that this is a great series. I have read the whole lot and it is definitely a great read. Marcy has a very complicated life but one does get drawn in and lost in it. I lile how the author has taken and handled the subject. There is just enough drama in the story.

I really like how the story unfolds in each consecutive book and how it all entwines the whole story together. This is a great way to get started with this series. I definitely would read more from this author.

I loved reading this book. The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart by Jacquie Biggar is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a story about family and romance. I loved reading about Holly Tremaine and Levi Anderson. Holly is coming home in the hopes to make amends. Her music career has been impacted by the diagnosis of a life-threatening illness. Levi is a man who has not forgotten about Holly. Seeing her only makes his feelings become stronger. There is a chemistry between them. What does the future hold for Holly and Levi? Will Holly and Levi act on their feelings for each other? Will Holly’s efforts to make amends succeed? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading it. Holly and Levi are likable characters and I found myself wanting them to find happiness. There are moments that tug at your heart and others that had me wondering if the past could be overcome. I highly recommend reading this story.

Lost In Carmel

☆☆☆☆☆

Natalie Hampton had it all. Movies, Magazines, and Hollywood. Until she lost it all, to gossip mixed with envy. Searching for friends was far and away. She needed someone on her side. When she had to leave behind everything, to find peace. She makes the best move she could think of. Can she find the peace she is looking for? Who will come to her rescue, and calm her sea of life.

Terri Lee has written this page turning story. A real look into the life of a star, behind what we see in magazines and movies. It may look like fun and fantasy. Do we really know what Natalie Hamptons really going through? This story is an eye opener, filled with tears. I love the characters in this book. Mostly the friends who stand behind Natalie. Well done Terri Lee! I want more though, looking forward to reading more from you.

This story tells of Natalie’s journey and about those she meets along the way as well as the situations that she finds herself in. There are ups and downs, heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I loved reading the two stories in this book. They will get you in the holiday spirit and are two sweet stories to read. They are romantic and will have you believing in the holiday spirit. One story will have you asking if your past define your future and the other if a holiday will be unlucky every year. I loved reading about the characters of Noelle and Eve. They are both characters that believe that their situation around the holidays will not change. Is that true? What does the future hold for Noelle and Eve? Read these novellas to find out. The stories did have my emotions going up and down as I was reading them. There are romantic moments and also heartwarming ones as well. Don’t miss out on two stories that you will not be able to put down until the end. I highly recommend reading them.

My Life Series: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone. This is probably one of my very favorite box sets. It made me fall in love with Necie Navone! This series is so full of emotion, romance, suspense, and mystery that you fall in love with the characters.
My Hidden Life is the first book and its the beginning of a wonderful journey. I would read these in order to get the most of them. This first book is so important because it introduces you to Alessandra Canzano The Princess of the Canzano family and everyone is looking out for her. This is a mafia series set in Italy and it takes on the journey of Alessandra’s life. When she was at her 6th birthday party a rival family left her injured by a shooting and so terrified. Her Uncle immediately started training her to never let anything like that happen again. While she is training to be a fighter she is also trying to be a normal Princess. She has to keep her friends thinking she is just a normal child.
Book 2 is My Tragic Life and its the continuation of Alessandra and the Canzano Family. In this book she is training each day and getting better and better. She is also becoming older and not wanting to follow all the strict rules that her father The Cappo puts in place. She must always come off as polished and perfect and also be ready to protect the family. She dreams of the freedom to where she can dress how she wants and be friends with who she wants. When another strike against her family happens she is ready to protect them with everything she has.
Book 3 is My Free Life and Alessandra leaves for University and she has become the Cappo Donna. Her life is anything but free. She is in charge of her family and businesses in Italy and her father is not happy about it. She is working on an escape but there are so many obstacles in her way. Her father has become a monster because he can’t control her any longer and she is dying to leave. Will she ever be truly free.

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone is an absolute must read before you even start thinking about reading the third book in her Brothers of Camelot series!
My Life series gives us the story of the daughter of the Capo of the Italian Canzano Crime family Alessandra Canzano in three parts. It is a story that gets its hooks into the reading from page one and doesn’t let you go. I was so relieved being able to delve into Brothers of Camelot series and finding out what the future had in store for her!
The first book “My Hidden Life” introduces us to Alessandra’s life when she is just six years old and training to be the hair to the family. It is a life that she needs to hide from everyone in her life and there is no way for her to keep her feeling as a normal girl.
The second book “My Tragic Life” turns Alessandra’s life from miserable into tragic! She has no control over anything – it is her father, the Capo that rules over everything! Her life becomes her worst nightmare when a rival Family strikes out against her Family.
The third book “My Free Life” sees Alessandra as the Capo Donna and the power struggle between her and her father. She needs to let the monster hiding inside loose when her closest friends get caught up in a dangerous situation. Also, the time has come for her to escape, time for her to finally be free!
Be forewarned, once you start reading, you cannot put the story down so give yourself a free weekend and I promise it is worth your commitment! It is an explosive series (literally) and once the dust settles, you will be ready to start with Brothers of Camelot!

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot was a great 5 star read.
This is a great box set that has My Hidden Life, My Tragic Life and My free life.

My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel
We start with Alessandra celebrating her sixth birthday, she is the princess of the Canzano family and she knows she has to represent. After she is shot leaving her party, her father becomes very protective and obsessive. Her father is the Capo and a very powerful man with enemies.

Uncle Louie has been training Alessandra for years and has grown very close to her. She is well trained in self-defense and weapons. She can definitely take care of herself. She has a lot of responsibility and expectations as the princess of the family.

As Alessandra starts to learn things about her family she starts to question some things. Does she really want to follow through with her father’s expectations? I really like Alessandra, she was very smart, strong female. Once I started, I couldn’t stop until I was done.

My Tragic Life: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot
We continue with Aless’s story. She is very good with her weapons and she definitely shows up her Capos men. You get pulled in right from the beginning and won’t want to stop until your done. We get lots of action, suspense, several different emotions, violence and so much more.

Her Capo is looking for the right man to be by her side, why won’t he let her choose “the one”? She has gotten him to agree to her going to University, will her plan finally work? Can she get what she needs to get out?

Boy, I really love the chemistry between Luigi and Aless. He vows that he will not touch her while she’s underage but you can sure feel the heat coming up between them. Although she has plans to find someone outside the family. Grayson, please wait for me.

All of the secondary characters were great. Necie Navone does such a great job with her writing, you feel like your right there with everyone.

My Free Life: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot
This is the final book in this great series.
Alessandra is getting ready to graduate and she is the Cappo Doona for the family. She wants to have her freedom and fulfill her promise to her mother. But things are not that simple for her.

There is so much that is going on in this book. All of the characters added a great element to the story. My emotions were all over the place. There are several unexpected twists and turns. I really liked Alessandra, she was a very strong woman that we get to watch grow up in this series. We get lots of action, secrets, suspense and so much more in this whole series. The ending couldn’t have been more perfect.

If you’re looking for a great read, I highly suggest you 1-click and get started on this one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

5 out of 5 stars
Ms. Navone out did herself with this series. The characters are amazing and well written, and the plot was amazing. The description of the surroundings and the detail of what Alless aka Alessandra went through is just amazing.
My Hidden life book 1: Alessandra, is the Princess of the Canzano crime Family, she was introduced to the dangers of her family’s world at the young age of six when a rival family left her bleeding and scared on her birthday. Her uncle now dedicates his life to making sure she is not only protected but that Alessandra will never feel helpless again in their world. All the while, trying to keep her feeling like she is just a normal young girl. She has to be better than any man around her. She’s the Family future. Can she handle the family and all that it entails?
Let’s, watch Alessandra in Part One of My Life series as she trains to be the heir to the Canzano Family the way her Capo her father wants. A life that she must hide from even her closest friends and family.
My Tragic life Book 2: She is the Princess of the Canzano Family, a title many would think to be glamorous, amazing. Well, the glamorous part would be accurate, but that’s where it ends. She is miserable. She has been training since she was six years old to protect the Family… a side of her that she needs to keep hidden. She must always appear to be the perfectly polished Princess, a ruse and title she really despises.
She gets no choice in anything, everything is controlled for me by her father, the Capo who is a tyrant when it comes to Aless. She wishes and dreams for the freedom to be HERSELF. When a rival Family strikes causing her life to be turned upside down, she didn’t think things could get any worse and then she learns how wrong she is and now she is forced to become her worst nightmare in order to protect the Family she wants no part of.
Her life went from being bearable misery to nothing short of Tragic.
My Free like Book 3: Duty. Responsibility. Family. Three words that form the gilded cage she lived in all her life. But she wants to escape no be the princess she wants to be an ordinary woman…
Freedom. Something most of the people on this Earth enjoy and take for granted. Something she’s never had. Something she want more than anything.
When she left for University, she thought her life wouldn’t be quite so tragic…Ha! She is now the Capo Donna, in charge of the Family and its businesses located in Northern Italy. But her tyrant of a father/capo is in a power struggle and it comes to a head when some of my closest friends find themselves caught in a dangerous situation.
In order to save them, she needs switch flip, in side of her the one she hate’s, in order to be what they need her to be to save them. The monster her Papa insisted she become, the one he can no longer control. The assassin. The side of her fears she will destroy her soul if she can’t escape from the Family…
As friends and loved ones begin finding their Happily Ever After, she knows it’s time to escape. They’ll all be fine. They have their One and Only. It’s time for her to be Free… so she can find her One and only….
I highly recommend this book

This is actually a prequel to a series and stands on its own. There is a super strong story line with all of the important components for a good book. It has action, great dialogue, angst, humor and so much more.

I absolutely recommend this series.

My Life Series by Necie Navone is now available as a box set. If you have not read any of these books this is a must read series. Necie Navone’s attention to detail keeps the book alive in my mind’s eye. One thing I have learned is to make sure I have enough time to read the entire book in one sitting. The roller coaster ride has many twists and turns and even a loopy loop thrown in once in a while. There were several times when I yelled at the book and my dogs thought I was crazy. The story is about Alessandra and her mob family. Alessandra is in line to run the family one day. When she was a child of the age of 6 her life changed. Her father knew that Alessandra has to become a warrior who takes nothing from anyone. It was great to watch Alessandra grow into a confident young lady. Alessandra went from Princess when younger to the Queen of the Italian Family. The transformation is astonishing to read.I cannot wait to see what Necie Navone has in store in the future.

My Life Series: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone

5++++ Stars

I have never read the first book of a series and then 3 smaller books that were a prequel to the actual series but it was completely awesome. This author has a forever fan in me as her writing is out of this world and this series is simply outstanding!! Below a short review of each of these books. This is Aless’s story and what a story it is!!!

Book 1 – My Hidden Life
I was so excited to read this book after finishing The Only One, we got a glimpse of Aless at the end of that book but this story starts when she was a young girl, the daughter of the head of a crime family who wants to shape her into the one that takes over the family when she gets older and marries whoever it is her father decides she will marry.
I highly recommend this story as well as the first in the Brothers of Camelot, I can already tell this whole series is going to be one that I’ll want to reread in the future.

Book 2 – My Tragic Life
Another awesome part of this series…Im so anxious to get to where we meet Aless in the 1st book of Brothers of Camelot I can’t hardly stand it. Aless is totally awesome and I have fallen in love with so many people in these books and just seeing how all of this plays out is like nothing I’ve ever read…I normally don’t like prequels after the fact but this has been done brilliantly in my opinion by this author.
Im left with What is going to happen??? These characters I love so much, how are they going to play in to all of this…the tie in to the first in the Brothers of Camelot is so spot on, I’m just so excited to finish this story but I don’t want it to end either. Like I said this author has me all kinds of messed up.. LOL

Book 3 – My Free Life
I was so scared to start this book because I just knew when I finished Id want to jump right into the second book of The Brothers of Camelot and that is exactly what has happened. I love how this author started the Brothers series and then went into these 3 prequels. The My Life Series was awesome and the way she pulled in the Brothers in this story was brilliant. This author has to have a pile of notes or a white board with all kinds of stuff on it because she didn’t miss anything. Everything ties in perfectly and I truly believe Aless’s story needed to be told and this just has me needing the next book like right now!!
This part of Aless’s story was so full of twists and turns and I just can’t wait to see how this will all play out in her future. She’s probably one of the strongest female leads I have ever read about and I do hope that where she is now and what is to come she is able to find her softer side but I’m thinking that she will still need all of her training because we haven’t experienced yet the reaction to her actions in this story, that transition happened a bit too easy and I have a feeling the repercussions are still to come.

Read this series…It is so amazing and having these in a convenient box set will make it so much easier when I reread them in the future!!!

LOVED LOVED LOVED!!!

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone
Five Stars

My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel is the first book in The My Life series by Necie Navone. This is the second book I have read by Ms. Navone, and all I can say is keep them coming. I love the action and suspense that grabs you on the very first page. Alessandra is a wonderful character who learns at a very young age, six, the dangers of being brought up as the princess of a crime family. The preparation her father sets for her to become head of the family leaves her well trading but very isolated. The rest of the characters in this book are amazingly detailed and varied. The writing just flows and I was surprised that before I knew it, it was over.

My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel is the second book in the My Life Series by Necie Navone. This series is intense and full of action. It follows Alessandra as she grows up a Princess in the Canzano crime family. Aless has learned to protect herself and her family from a very young age. When the time arrives and she uses her skills to save her family, it take a big emotional toll on her along with physically one as well. This book had me hooked from the very first page, and I couldn’t put it down till I read the last. Necie Navone has done such a wonderful job giving background on the plot and extensive character descriptions, that I felt I was right there in the story as I was reading.

My Free Life: A Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot is the third book in the My Life series by Necie Navone. This series just gets better and better. Alessandra is twenty and away attending University, she is now the Capo Donna of the Family just as her father intended. Now that all of her friends are growing up and falling in love, will this by Aless’s chance to start over herself or is she to entrenched is the Family business to break free. This book like the rest of the series is full of action, excitement, suspense and danger that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat throughout the story. Necie Navone really brings her characters to life in this series and I look forward to reading more from here in, The Brothers of Camelot series. I have put Ms. Navone on my permanent TBR list. I highly recommend this book, series and author especially if you love Crime Family stories mixed in with your romance

My Life Series: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of CamelotMy Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Life Series by Necie Navone is quite possibly one of the best series I have ever read. They are a prequel to the Brother of Camelot series, but I loved it more than those. It tells the story of Alessandra Canzano, daughter to a mob boss. She was almost murdered as a child, on the 6th birthday. Since then, she was trained to protect herself and her family, training to take over as the boss of the Family. Its hard enough being born into the Mafia, not being able to even choose your own friends or clothes. Add on to that being trained to be tougher than even your bodyguards, and its safe to say she didn’t have a normal childhood. She is practically raised by her uncle and body guard, and is closer to them than her own father. When she is a teenager she gets a taste of freedom, when she visits the US for her birthday. She has trained her whole life to be a strong leader, but she just wants to be a normal teenager.
My Hidden Life is the first book of the trilogy. It is a coming of age story, about Alessandra, the Princess of the Canzano Family. Her family is part of the Italian mob, and her dad decided, when she was just 6 years old, she will be the one to take over as the boss of the Family. Her uncle Louie has dedicated his life to protect her, as well as train her. Due to the target on her back, her father decides she must be trained to protect herself in any situation, regardless of being a child. She thinks it is fun as a young girl, but soon tires of it and wishes for a normal teenage life. These feelings intensify after she meets a boy, who doesn’t know her past or story, and sparks fly.
My Tragic Life is the second book in the series. The story is written mostly in the perspective of Aless, but with an occasional chapter from the supporting characters. It continues her story, as she gets older, following the responsibilities she carries as the Princess of her Family, essentially a Mafia Princess. With this position comes power, fear, respect, money, but Aless would give it all up to be a normal teenage, who could make her own destiny and choose her own partner. I love the balance the book has, with a little bit of longing and dreams, alongside drama and intense scenes, with a small dash of romance.
My Free Life is the last book in the My Life Series by Necie Navone. It continues telling the story of Alessandra, in her path to freedom. It must be read following My Hidden Life and My Tragic Life, in order to get the full story. This book, like the previous 2, was amazing and full of twists and turns keeping me hooked from start to finish. However, I was left hanging, and now need to move onto the Brother of Camelot series, so I can know if Aless gets her happily ever after.
While these books are listed as part of a prequel, I believe they are strong enough to be a series of its own. The characters are written so well, with emotions and relationships you can feel. I developed feelings for the characters and felt anger, love, loss, fear right along with them. The story and background are solid and realistic. I honestly enjoyed this series so much, and would love to see it turn into a movie! So highly recommend to everyone.

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone kept me on the edge of my seat starting in book one and didn’t let up once through book three.

Alessandra had a privileged but not so happy life. She’s the Princess in a mafia family in Italy and though she has friends and family she’s close with, her world is quite small until one fateful trip.

Alessandra’s life and story made my head spin with some of the things that happen to her but she refused to allow everything especially the bad things define her and her life.

I loved the all three of the books, but I think the third is my favorite. She’s living her best life and that’s all anyone wants.

This is a decent time commitment but oh so worth it.

I fell in love with Necie Navone’s writing while reading the My Life Brothers of Camelot Prequel series. So when I found out that they were being released in gorgeous boxed set to devour in one sitting I just knew I had to scoop it up. This is a wonderful series full of emotion, romance, suspense, and intrigue bound to keep you up well past your bedtime as you read. This is where you want to start if you are going to read The Brothers of Camelot series form Necie Navone as well. I love when authors make books available in the boxed set because not only is it convenient it is a wonderful way to spread the love of a book series you enjoy with your family and friends you think will also love it. Below is my individual reviews for each book that is included in the set. I sure hope you enjoy them as much as I have! Now off to grab The Brothers of Camelot!

My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel (My Life Series Book 1)
Necie Navone was a completely new author to me when I first picked up ‘The Only One’ which is the first book in the Brothers of Camelot series that ‘My Hidden Life’ is the prequel to. I would recommend that you read both of these before you jump into the rest of the series. These are the type of books that are going to need to be read in the right order to make sense, but don’t worry it will be worth it! Necie Navone is one wickedly good story weaver!

There is a lot, and I do mean a lot, going on in this book. We get to know all about Alessndra Canzano or more commonly referred to as Aless, in this book. We start off when she is very young but grow right along with her as she comes into age and her role as the next in line to take over the family name and “business”. The thing is… this is not your average family “business”. Not only will her life be at stake but all those that she holds near and dear will be in danger too. Can she keep her life hidden? There really is a lot more layers. From action, violence, even some romance, not a lot but a bit, and I think that there will be more to come in the next installment that we will get with her story. That one is the ‘My Tragic Life’ and it is available so I am planning to go start that one as soon as I finish this review. I can’t wait! Thanks for another great read!

My Tragic Life: Prequel to the Brothers of Camelot: Book Two
“My Tragic Life” is the second part of the prequel to the “Brothers of Camelot” series by Necie Navone. I have to say it is a bit of a departure from the a-typical one shot prequel that you are used to seeing for a series. This one gives us an up close personal coming of age story about Alessandra, the ‘Princess’ of the Canzano family. This is setting us up for the Brothers of Camelot. I would HIGHLY recommend that these are all read in order. I will admit that at first, and when I finished the first book, I wasn’t sure if I was a big fan that this was going to be a three part prequel. I really liked the first book in the Brothers Camelot and I kind of just want to get back to those stories. As it is that promises to be a long series in and of itself. But I am playing along and giving it a go. I do believe that I am a bit more of a fan after this one though. This brought all the feels to the table much as the first in the Brothers of Camelot did, and I am glad that I didn’t give up after the first book.

All that said, this one shows us more of Alessandra, this time more as she grew into her teenage years. She still is forced to face things that are more for adults and I wanted to shield her from them. I found myself torn apart as a mother and tearing up several times throughout the story. She has to make a lot of decisions that she should never have to make, but when you are faced with choosing family and keeping them safe or the alternative, you generally are forced to make some very difficult choices. I can’t wait to find out what the next installment will bring, and where we will find Alessandra in the end. Most of all, I want to see a light at the end of the tunnel for her. Thanks for a great and emotional read Ms. Navone!

My Free Life: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot (My Life Series Book 3)
This is the final book in the prequel series to the Brothers Camelot series by Necie Navone. I would HIGHLY recommend that you read these three books in order. You will be so lost if you don’t. I have a hard time keeping up with things from time to time in this story line so I can’t imagine if you haven’t read the previous novels. I also might add that Necie is a very gifted storyteller. She has weaved a wonderful mobster boss story told from a woman’s point of view and done it flawlessly.

In My Free Life we find Aless grown up, well past her numbered age of 20. She has taken on the role of Capo Donna and is doing the best she can with the circumstances life has thrown at her. She is watching those she loves and holds dear enjoy a life full of happiness and freedom to live normally. She craves this so much for herself. She made a promise to one day be free and enjoy those happiness to her mother before she died and she is determined to make that happen. Can she really escape the role life destined her to fulfill though?

This book is fast paced, full of feeling and emotion, and really has a bit of everything in it. I am sad to see the My Life series come to an end but I am also looking forward to diving into the Brothers Camelot now and seeing the stories of the men in the family. I am off to pick up book one right now, The Only One. Thanks for a great prequel series Ms. Navone!

My Life Series: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone – Review by Katie Matthews

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of CamelotMy Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A fantastic 5 star box set that I highly recommend! The three stories included are My Hidden Life, My Tragic Life and My Free Life!

My Hidden Life
This really was a beautifully written story. This is the second book that I have read by this author but this first in this prequel series to the Brothers of Camelot. I really enjoyed reading Alessandro’s story even it was emotional at times. I enjoyed reading her journey of how she became the woman I read about in The Only One. The author’s detailed writing enabled me to be fully invested in the story. I am really looking forward to the next one in the series to find out more about these great characters!

My Tragic Life
! I was so happy that the book did not disappoint! I really, really enjoyed it and again the author dragged me into the story straight away. This book should definitely be read after book 1 as it is a continuation and begins around 9 months after the incredible ending that the author left us with.
Again I was captivated be Alessandra’s story and it is hard to remember sometimes, because of the life she’s lived and is still living, that she is still only a teenager. The story is a great mix of coming of age situation interspersed with violence – there certainly are twists and turns on every page which kept me riveted from the beginning to the end.
Alessandra is a fantastic character and I am really enjoying her story and seeing her grow up – she is mature far beyond her years and I think as she gets older she really will be a force to be reckoned with! I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next book!!

My Free Life
And so we have the final book in the trilogy of the prequel series to The Brothers of Camelot series and what a final book it is! I have loved this trilogy – I’ve never read a prequel trilogy before and I thought it was such a fantastic idea by the author. Not only do I feel like I know the characters inside out but I am totally ready to carry on with the next part! I love this author’s writing style; she has totally captured my attention with her beautiful writing. Her characters are well thought out and progress so well over the story – especially Aless, I feel like I have grown up with her from the very beginning. I have seen her progress from a child to an almost warrior princess! She is a fantastic character and I love her!
The story is full of action and turn the pages fast enough! I highly recommend this book and the series needs to be read in order!!

My Life Series: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone – Review by Shannon Fowler

My Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of CamelotMy Life Series: Box Set: Prequel to Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow I love this box set! I read each of these books before they were in the box set but having them all together is even better!

My Hidden Life- book one- is about the Canzano Family but more importantly Alessandra or Aless, as she is called. She is a naive, sweet and seemingly sheltered little girl for most of this story. As she grows up, we learn that she is not so sheltered. She sees and knows things. Her father is Capo or captain of the Mafia Family. And is feared by all. He is grooming Aless to take over the Family and all their dealings. This story and her training start out when she is just 6 years old. Capo is easily one character I can hate.

My Tragic Life is easy to read except when Aless become a killing machine to protect her family. I loved watching her grow and learn through-out these stories. Her feelings about the “men” in her life, especially Grayson and Luigi make me laugh, blush and sigh right along with her. She is probably the strongest female character I have ever read about. Even though Aless didn’t show much emotion during a rather difficult situation, as a reader I sure cried like a baby. This book sure leaves a lot of question for the next one! I can’t wait to see where the Brothers of Camelot come into play.

My Free Life – book three- Great conclusion to the build up of Aless’s life as a mafia princess! This book was easy to read even while I was holding my breath as to what could happen next. I really expected more from Capo/Papa, the jerk face, however I am sure we haven’t heard the last from him. I love how Aless’ men follow her, protect her and really have her back when times got tough.

Highly recommend this box set and can’t wait for more from this author!
