Something Lost (Funerals and Weddings Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Beverly Finnie

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Bernadette Marie’s Something Lost, brought my empathy out in full force! I absolutely enjoy the story! Fantastic character development throughout. I was happy, sad, angry, and even cried some while reading Craig and Rachel’s story.
Rachel being a goner the minute she noticed Craig. Craig felt the same but promised his coach, her father, that he would stay away from her. Till one day they got caught. Craig disappeared and withdrew from everyone. Rachel spiraled down a path that almost lost her, her life.
10 years after Craig graduated college he returns to support the Diaz family whose patriarch, and his former college coach, has passed away. While reuniting with his teammates he hears the voice of the one who got away behind him. He’s always loved Rachel and little did he know she’s always felt the same.
The trials and tribulations of the adventures they are about to both embark on, is what kept me reading.
The author created a very real world and realistic story that could happen to anyone. Like I said at the beginning it brought my empathy out in full force. I felt like I knew these people, that I was also part of their friends group. When tears came to my eyes at one point, I knew the author had me. Had me not only push forward in this story to find out what was going to happen, but had me wanting to read anything she has ever written.
The title of it might be Something Lost, but it’s really about Something(s) found!
