I liked the idea of the story which led me to pick up the book. I struggled at times which led me to “fall” out of the story. I liked Serena and found her plight captivating. The issue came once she started being attacked by others. It seemed too far-fetched and a mix of two different types of beings. I have not read the others in this series and probably won’t as I didn’t really connect or come to “care” about the characters.
