The-Know-It-All-Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand Series) by Lois Wickstrom – Review By Elizabeth Rose

The Know-It-All Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand)The Know-It-All Pencil by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It’s Caspian’s Unbirthday and he can’t wait to see what surprise Grandpa got him this year! When he opens the box he finds a yellow pencil and a small pad of green paper but it’s not just any pencil, it’s a Know-It-All pencil! Caspian sets out on a “star adventure” on his way to school.

This is a cute children’s book that involves make believe, doing good deeds, helping others out and trading for things others want/need. There is a lot of diversity among the characters, which I think is really important in a children’s book. The illustrations are very colorful and super cute. I would recommend this book for kiddos age pre-K thru 3rd grade.

What Zenni doesn’t know is Colton has a huge secret that he doesn’t want anyone to find out. The Last Cabin Girl (Detective Josie Thompson Series) by Tom Swyers – Review by Vanessa Watts

The Last Cabin GirlThe Last Cabin Girl by Tom Swyers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is an undeniable thrill to read, so much so that 5 stars just doesn’t seem to do it justice! This one kept me guessing until the very end with so many twists and turns that it might make you dizzy. The plot is amazing and the author seamlessly combined the growing Covid19 pandemic that happened in 2020 into this gripping thrill ride. That kind of takes me back to dealing with the pandemic, shortages, and fear that was ever present!

Josie who is dealing with a terrible not quite ex husband named Eddie, her past discovery of a pink body, and growing concerns of a rising pandemic that everyone in the US is downplaying. As if that’s not enough she discovers a body floating in the river near her cabin, and she becomes a prime murder suspect. After multiple victims surface, Josie is arrested for the murders and is released on bond secured by her cabin and help from a wealthy bachelor who seems taken with Josie. Unfortunately for Josie things just aren’t adding up and she knows if she can find Eddie she’ll be free from murder charges and be rid of her ex. Only the more she finds the more secrets are unraveled. It seems everybody she meets is keeping some sort of secret from her. Can Josie come out on the other side after all these secrets are uncovered? Or is the past doomed to repeat itself and more bodies pile up?

Overall, I did not see where the author was going with this story until close to the very end. The range of emotions you go through while reading this book are immense. Some characters you start out loving only to hate them later on and vice versa. This is a dynamic book that I will recommend to all avid readers that enjoy thrillers. It makes you want to keep coming back until the story is finished and all the secrets are unraveled. Secrets are a terrible thing to keep and sometimes an even terrible thing to overcome!

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla) by S.B. Alexander – Review by Tia Martel

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sam Mason is terrifying, sexy, and powerful. As a Navy SEAL he’s trained to do some serious damage, but as a VAMPIRE Navy SEAL, he’s downright lethal.

Everything about Sam Mason puts Layla on edge. Before they met she was determined to capture him and turn him over to her employer, now she’s doing everything she can to keep her distance and keep him out of her head and her bed.

When the job goes sideways and Layla’s sisters are in danger, she has to turn to Sam and the SEALs for help. She’s trying so hard to trust the enemy and save her family, but can she save herself?

The Hunted is a spin-off series with some HEAT! Layla and Sam have some serious chemistry and the fact that there’s so much tension really helps bring in the burn.

There are some areas that could use some detail work and some spots I felt a little lost, but I imagine if I had read the original series I’d be a lot more in the loop. It’s definitely not needed to learn about Sam and Layla, but it could be useful for some other characters.

It’s a fun, light-hearted romantic suspense for the enemies to lovers and paranormal trope fans. I’d recommend it for anyone who loves a quick read and a slow burn. I’m excited to check out the previous series and also to see what is next.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and personally I can’t wait for more. While this is the first half of the story, I was so enveloped that I can’t wait for the second half of the story. But being my first book by this author I had no idea what to expect, but she definitely blew me out of the water, with her wonderful story, and beautiful cover. This was also a very short story being under 200 pages ma, it definitely made for an easy, short, and fast read. Until There Was You by G. Colgrove – Review by Dahnielle Hibbert

Until there was youUntil there was you by G. Colgrove
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This novel had it all… sex, secrets, broken hearts, tears, laughter and a great big HEA! I will say it was a bit on the trashy side as every other page some was grabbing someone’s … (this is why I gave it four stars, because while I like a little heat to my novels there is such a thing as too much) … well anyway the overall story was great and I enjoyed that it was a quick and easy read. I loved the side characters as well as the stars of this story Regan “Southie” Doyle and Jeremy Stone. This story felt like a story more about forgiving yourself and opening up to love.
Trigger warning: There is some
Moderate drug/alcohol use as well as a family member death because of it.

Beelzebub is one of the Seven Princes of Hell and the demon of gluttony. He is charged with tempting humans with this sin, to mark their souls forever. He revels in his job, savoring every moment of the sweet experience, a job he finds quite easy to do. Until he meets Clara, an Empath with unique gifts of her own, who thwarts his every advance. Still he persists, needing her to give into him, and wondering why this beguiling woman affects him so. With a Civil War brewing in Hell both Beelzebub and Clara are pulled into a fight for something even bigger than they could ever imagine.
I am addicted! This book took me on such a wild ride!!! Twisted, Sexy, and Unique!!! It delivers everything it promises with twists and turns that had my jaw on the floor! Perfectly paced for the maximum amount of sensual tension between the characters! The civil war and hierarchy of Hell was really engaging and I can’t wait to find out what happens next! I am definitely going to be reading the other book in this series! A must read for paranormal romance lovers!!

Finding Melodie and The Wedding Special Boxset by Laura Rossi – Review by Shelly Kittell

Melodie Boxset (Melodie #1-2)Melodie Boxset by Laura Rossi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The sound of sweet love music in the park. Melodie is street musician and Isaac comes to listen to her every day in the park during his lunch. Over a spoiled proposal, Melodie offers to help him win his girlfriend back. Cue up the wild adventures. Isaac sees that Melodie opens his life up. There is no going back to the way his life was. Melodie is the woman for him. They have adventures galore. This story is full of humor, a little sadness, lots of happiness, family that causes some hiccups and some other miscellaneous issues that pop up. There are so many little favorite parts for me in this set. I loved the whole story. Victoria, the hussy dog, cracked me up. No surpise what happened there. LOL. With a mom like Cynthia, they all rebel. But in the end, love and forgiveness redeems, that’s what makes this authors books so wonderful. She also writes very engaging stories. Once I started this one, I just couldn’t put this one down. I had to finish it, because I wanted to know what was going to happen. I would definitely give this more than a 5 if I could. I highly recommend one-click this one.

I love a good vampire story, and this one did not disappoint. I was intrigued from the start at the things that set Sam apart. The trio of human women were also unexpected. With every page, the author took you deeper and deeper into the mysteries surrounding the characters, and there was a fair bit of tension along the way! Layla was snarky and I loved her take no crap attitude. The close relationship and love between her and her sisters was also great to see. A slow burn forbidden romance, war at your doorstep, and vampires. This book really had it all. I’m intrigued and excited to see where the author takes it from here.

I love a good Angel and Demon story! The eternal struggle of good vs evil with romance and resistance attached intrigues me even more. Clara and Zee were great characters and each proved great strength as well as growth the more the story progressed.
Beezlebub definitely gave me gluttonous vibes because I wanted more of him and his tempting ways.. The more you get to know Zee the more you see that he is not just an average demon. Both he and Clara have undeniable chemistry despite the differences and a heated connection neither can deny. Together they tell a story of saving souls, a war of good vs evils, and that anything is possible when you put together one of the Seven Princes of Hell and an empathetic Baker.

Lily has been captured and is a slave within the castle of Wolf Hollow. Her life for the past year has not been pleasant and suddenly turns for the worse when she’s noticed by a few wolves, the Prince himself included. She lives through a harrowing experience to find out that she’s the Prince’s mate. Jason is the next in line for the throne and is currently living under his father’s thumb biding his time until he can take over. A chance encounter allows him to find his mate but she’s one of the human slaves. Can these two overcome circumstances to have their happily ever after?

The story was good but I found that it had a few issues. The story felt rushed to me. There were a lot of sub plots which I’m sure we’re set ups for the rest of the series . To me they were more interesting than the plot of this book. I loved Jason and Dean. The characters interacted well and I enjoyed their banter. I had a hard time connecting to Lily though. One minute she’s weak and lacking confidence, the next she’s strong and snarky. She kept flipping back and forth between the two as if the author couldn’t decide how she wanted this character to be. I think Lily has a lot of potential as well as the story so I will be reading the next book in the series.

A great paranormal romance. There is twists and excitement from start to finish. It leaves you wanting more of their story. A quick read but I cannot wait to pick up the next book to find out what happens next.

The story is around two main characters. Lily a captured human servant and Jason the future Alpha and King of Wolf Hollow. I enjoyed that Lily was not the weak female throughout and only continued to define her true strong-self as the story progressed. Equally Jason is not the over the edge intense insufferable werewolf, but still very much the assertive mate when the time arrives. Humans live in fear of the Shifters and do their best to avoid drawing attention on themselves. When Lily manages to gain more notice than she ever wanted after the Royals return home things in the house start to teeter on a dangerous shift in balance. Are their differences too much for Wolf Hollow? Will they get to find a happy ending?

A small trigger warning that the concept of rape is there, but not in graphic detail of said event.

This book really blew me away. I went into this expecting your typical second chance romance story and honestly I was taken aback at how kuchen I connected with these characters. They journey was so turbulent but completely realistic. The author had such a good grasp on their development throughout the book.
It felt quite fast paced for a romance as well which I think added to the overall effect. I read this book so fast because I simply couldn’t put it down. This is a great story and one I would highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Lily is a human slave to the Wolf Hollow Pack, Jason is the son of the Alpha, what could possibly happen? I found the storyline to be quite unique and different and that was part of its draw for me.

The only thing I didn’t like about this book was that it ended too soon. I look forward to book two.

I really enjoyed this book. Lily is a captive and a servant for the King and his family. The servants are treated as unworthy captives as they are only human after all. The rest of the household is made up of the Hollow Wolves Pack. Their dominance knows no bounds. They take and do as they wish. All is not what it seems in the castle. This is a fantastic contemporary romance by an author that I had never read before but if this is any example of their work, I’ll definitely be reading again. I really. Really enjoyed this book.
I loved Regan and Jeremy’s story. Both are great characters that I was really able to associate with and enjoyed reading about. I really could have read about this couple for hours and hours. They are both very relatable and interesting characters. The author has done a great job in writing these characters.
I was really drawn into their story straight away and the author does a great job of keeping the story flowing and keeping the reader fully engrossed in the story. Along the way, you are taken on an emotional journey that pulls at the heartstrings at times.
This is very much an opposites attract story. Jeremy is from a very wealthy family, whereas Regan has had a very difficult and poor upbringing. I do like reading an opposites attract story and this is great example of one.
I loved this book and it definitely deserves the 5 stars I’m giving it.

Harry, who was once Little Brother and a few other names as well, has had his fair share of heartache and joy, friendship and betrayal, life and death. He has lived for eons whether through sleep or by being present and awake from stasis. The tales that the Traveler must tell are of joy, friendship, betrayal, hate, and love. I loved reading about the beginnings of man through the eyes of an eyewitness and following his journey to today. The book is filled with adventure and excitement and is such a great read! The Traveler will not disappoint those who crave a good story that is written throughout the ages and has a bit of new age energy thrown in. The characters are “real” and often quirky but easily relatable especially Harry. I now need to read the first book in the series and cannot wait for the Next adventure that Harry proceeds on.
