My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Josie is stuck in a no end relationship; with an abusive husband and two children she needs to escape and leave him. She finally gets the guts to leave and goes to her hometown, were she lives in a cabin in the woods. As, she is always on the look out for her ex-husband she starts noticing things, until another body turns up in the river taking Josie back to her 12 years old self.

Things then starts happening, family secrets that should be kept secret start to emerge and Josie is sent down a swirling path to try and hide from her ex-husband and secrets from the past.

This is the first book I have read by this author and oh my this is not what I expected at all, in a good way. The story is well written, and the book has you gripped from the first few chapters. The characters are complex but adds to the build of the anticipation of intriguing story which develops as you read further into the book.

The character of Josie is written superbly and which her complex past and the utter strength she has showed to do the things and discover what she has is a brilliant character to run through the centre of the book, showing her courage at every turn was a refreshing insight.

If you are looking for a brilliant thriller with twists and turns and allow the writer to take you on a brilliant journey then this is a book for you.
