Ancient Reflections is a collection of three timeless tales, cleverly retold by Tamara Agha-Jaffar. She has given a fresh perspective to these classic stories, but in doing so she managed to stayed true to their origins and intrinsic qualities.
We explore:
A Pomegranate and the Maiden’- which is the retelling of the “Hymn to Demeter’, the story of Persephone and Demeter.
Unsung Odysseys”- is the retelling of the “Odyssey’ whish tells the tale of Odysseus’ adventures on his journey home from Troy.
Gilgamesh of Uruk”- is the retelling of the “Epic of Gilgamesh” an epic tale of the legendary Mesopotamian.
This collection is full of myth, fantasy, historical details, relationships, adventure, gods, monsters, courage, and survival. The stories are fresh, rich, and intriguing. Definitely worth reading- especially if you enjoyed the originals.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Tamara Agha-Jaffar!
