It has been quite a while since I read this book so when I saw the audio version I thought it would be a great way to go through a re-read. I thought the narrator did a great job. I was completely pulled into the story and, although I knew what was going to happen, I still felt the mystery and the intrigue. I was lost in the story from the moment I started listening. I think it works well as a short book, I could fit this story in easily to a hectic schedule.
This is an author that I really enjoy and I think the books translate well to audio. I really enjoyed getting into this book and I will definitely be listening to more.

This is the second book in the series and it is just as good as the first. I thought it was so easy to sink back into this world, this era and this book is just as vivid and imaginative as the first. I thought the story was well developed. It felt like it was clearly thought through and detailed and had everything needed to draw you, as the reader, in. I really enjoyed the characters. They fit the story so well and they all have their parts to play. They are interesting to read about and I really connected with them. This is a great story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I LOVE this book. It’s time warps you back. The descriptions are so amazing and it feels like you are right there with the characters. Definitely one of my favorite series to read this year! You see a lot of growth within the Agneson clan in this book.

It is always a bonus when you get to read more from one of your favorite authors. I really could not put this book down. I spent my holiday enjoying not only the sun but also reading and getting lost in the world created.
The characters are complex and really draw the reader into the world created. I really could relate to the one of the lead characters and how she felt starting in a new school after a move. I also liked how the relationship between the lead characters evolves after what was a very shaky start. The author does a wonderful job of building the story and characters. Will definitely be reading more from this author.
Truth or Kill: The Twisted Legends Collection by A.C. Kramer
Truth or Kill is a standalone novel but is the second book of the Twisted Legends Collection. Truth or Kill is based on the tale of Kill Switch, a videogame that self-destructs upon completion, making it unknown if it existed or not. In Truth or Kill, Sydney Evans is invited along with her rich classmate for a company retreat, or so she thought. Follow Sydney on her journey through a real-life Kill Switch game, from darkness to light and everything in between. Truth or Kill is full of relatable characters. The reader can feel their pain, confusion, anger, and many other emotions. Between a family betrayed by those they trusted and Sydney and her own feelings of betrayal, the emotions envisioned are raw and real. I did not want to put the book down. Full of twists and turns, Truth or Kill kept me guessing. If you are looking for a book full of mystery, darkness, and love, look no further. Truth or Kill is the book to read.

This is a really interesting young adult book. The book itself can be read in one sitting and I got that it is a prequel. The story really wets your appetite for what is to come and I can’t wait to see where this story will lead. The author does an amazing job with the characters. Our leading lady EmVee is a very strong willed and confident person and when she realises something isn’t right with the town they have moved to she doesn’t stop until she get answers. So begins a tale of mystery, secrets and paranormal occurrences which leave the read questioning everything and wanting more. As well as all this we have all the teenage angst as well with regards to emotions, relationships between friends and crushes and also learning who to trust and who not to.
This book is fast paced and gripped me from the first page. I can’t wait to see what the series has in store

The epic adventures of the Agneson clan continues in this third book in the series, which like the previous books I thoroughly enjoyed. The historical fantasy storyline had me gripped from page one, and I liked the mix of real historical events with authentic legends, which together makes an epic fantasy story. The descriptive narrative and added historical details bring both the Viking era of circa 880, and the setting vividly to life, which made me feel immersed in the story. This epic adventure takes the reader from the Cornish pit mines to the back alleys of Jorvik, then to the Mercian Court and beyond to the North Sea, and across Midgard and the 9 realms. As usual I felt engaged with the main characters and our hero Thorfinn, who is facing supernatural revenge as he’s still trying to lift a Jarl’s curse. The Agneson family has been scattered and they each face their own challenges, against, “Scheming aldermen, duplicitous monks, slave drivers, dark elves, trolls, ghosts, shapeshifting witches, the legendary Norse Wild Hunt, and a dragon”. Cub, has been enslaved in the Devonshire tin mines, Sorven is after retribution in Jorvik, and Kara is fighting an arranged Saxon marriage, whilst Karl and his crew are castaway on a mythic floating island. As each of the intriguing main characters tackle their challenges, the Forerunner is trying to find his scattered family to help them with their trials. I loved the added pet dragon for Finn, which brings humour to the story. It can be difficult at times to keep track of all the characters, but having been introduced to them in the previous books they have started to feel like old friends. This is a fast paced, entertaining read with many plot twists which kept me hooked, and I look forward to the next book in the series.

As everything comes to light as to what exactly her powers are and that she isn’t crazy, Gregory’s obsessed spirit possesses the soul of his descendent and sets his sights on destroying Juliana. After thinking she had come to terms with everything from her past, she realizes that she hasn’t dealt with most of it. Can she work through her past trauma to defeat Gregory once and for all? Will she be able to bring the Ka-Tet back together and prove her loyalty once and for all?
This was an excellent addition to this series. Julia struggles with some very deep feelings and the ramifications of not dealing with everything. While she doesn’t choose wisely on how to deal with it, she finds help in her friends on how to deal with it all in a healthier way. I appreciated the insight into how damaged people sometimes choose to deal with their extreme feelings. We are all damaged in our own way, and this shows the importance of the power of forgiveness, true friendship, and not always believing what other say but to come to our own conclusions. Well done!! Looking forward to book 4!

One fateful night, Gregory crosses the line and murders their daughter in front of Juliana and almost kills her as well. However, as fate should have it, her rescue comes in the form of Samuel, a vampire. He offers her a different kind of life; one of freedom, power, and safety in friends, known as a Ka-Tet. She chooses this life but finds that she still has a lot of traumas to deal with from her past. Slowly she comes to terms with her choice, only to find out there is a threat to it all, too. Valentino is Samuel’s sworn enemy and will do everything in his power to eliminate their Ka-Tet. Can she come into her own power soon enough to help her friends that have given her freedom that she used to only dream about? Can she learn to love again despite her horrible past?
This is a very fast-paced read. There’s a lot of action, conflicts, and some romance thrown in there. It was hard for me to connect to Juliana because of her abusive background. I imagine that this would be very triggering for people who do have that kind of history in their lives. I did feel like the author did a good job conveying the abuse, the emotions, and the fall out of said abuse. The story drew me in rather quickly and before I knew it, the book was over! Looking forward to book 2!

This book finds Juliana’s story continuing 70 years after book 1. The Ka-Tet is still together, she and Adam are still together, and everything seems to be going strong. However, Valentino is determined to kill Samuel and the Resistance group. The Ka-Tet finds themselves caught between England and Spain’s political unrest and Valentino’s relentless attempts to end them. As the hits keep on coming, Juliana begins to hear a voice she hasn’t heard in a very long time. She wonders if she is slowly going crazy or if what the voice tells her is true of her. A shocking twist at the end of the book leaves her and the Ka-Tet reeling. Can they ever recover? Or has Valentino finally beaten them all?
This was fast paced for a second book in a series! Usually, second books are more filling in information that the first book only touched on. The author did an excellent job of balancing both the information side and the action side to the story. I am truly hoping book three sorts out all the unexpected twists this book dealt out!

This is a book for the romantic at heart for sure. Sometimes it seems as though each pair of characters should have their own book rather than all being done in one book. That would give more time to develop the stories a bit more but instead they are like snapshots of people’s lives as they find the right book and start a new chapter in their lives.
Leona, our bookstore connoisseur, has a knack for finding everyone just the right book and giving a little extra push to find their happily ever after even if they were not necessarily looking. When Sadie comes in looking for the perfect Christmas romance, Leona points her in the right direction where she then bumps into Charlie. After both have found their books they pay and leave only to discover later that Leona switched their bags. Now the hunt is on to find each other and return the books to their rightful owners. However, things do not always go to plan, can Sadie have a Christmas romance all her own with Charlie?
Then there is Fiona who comes to town and runs across Leona. Leona discovers Fiona’s ex Price is also in town and though things didn’t work in the past it is clear there is still something there. Will sparks fly as Fiona and Price meet again with differing happenstance? Or is the past too much to move past?
Leona who has an easy time pointing others in the right direction and with just enough meddling helps them find their happily ever afters just cannot seem to find her own Mr. Right. Add to that problems with the bookstore and it all seems to be too much. Enter Jon, a local handyman available to help put the bookstore back to rights again. They both feel the attraction but Leona is certainly conflicted as Jon comes with two little tagalongs. Is Leona ready to not only manage the bookstore but a romance and a family at the same time?
This is definitely a cutesy romance novel that is simply an enjoyable read. I would have liked this to be a series so we could take a deeper dive into the characters and their lives instead of being little snippets of time. Overall I enjoyed this book and it would make a great beach read for anyone looking for a chance to escape and read about happily ever afters.

Not my kind of book but I’ll still give it 3 stars because it’s NOT terrible. Quick and fast read for me. Has great potential and there’s a book out there for everyone. So still give it a shot and don’t judge the book based from my words. Could use more details regarding the story or even the characters. Reading about corries dad, makes me extremely sad though. Being injured after a accident and not being to do what he used too? It’s not fair and breaks my heart. But In no way am I bashing the author or even this book…but definitely different than what I’m used to reading. Im not a religious person so this is first book I’ve read that, that’s got that in it. Im not sure if the author has other books but I’ll still read them if so 🙂
The Happily Ever After Bookstore by Bernadette Marie . This is a fun little romance. Leona owns The Happily Ever After Bookstore and her goal is to match people with books and people! She has enjoyed matchmaking people by swapping their books when they check out and the directing them to meet each other to get their correct books. Charlie and Sadie even end up getting married after her set up. Now she is working on Fiona and Price who are married but about to split up. She is trying to reignite their love story. Leona has always been in love with her bookstore so she hasn’t really worried about her own love life until the shop is in need of repairs. When Jon shows up to work on the shop Leona is interested but Jon comes with baggage. His children and Leona isn’t sure about that. Also Jon has been hurt pretty bad in the past. Will he be able to trust again. This is such a fun little book where three different stories are interspersed and make for a great read!

Truth be told – I liked this more than was expected. Serendipity? Fate? Worlds coming together at the least expected time? Love? Books? Yep, this story has it all. ‘The Cool Thing’ is one of the most unique books I’ve ever read. There’s a little bit of everything in it. It’s a reading smorgasbord for your mind. The characters are quirky and unique. There’s a little comedy, a little science fiction/fantasy, a little romance, and even some horror. I found myself chuckling as I read through the story. You will feel so many things as you read. The story is broken up and told in chapters. This works great because each chapter seems to be a POV for each person. An entertaining story for those that like dark comedy with a touch of everything.

Body Checked: A Frenemies-to-Lovers Hockey Romance (Astoria Bay Thunder Book 2)
I think I may have fallen a little harder for Bridger in this book. We knew him as the goofy, hot hockey player and thankfully we still get that side of him. We also get the time to grow up and do my job side. He is definitely in my top 10 of Book Boyfriends for now.
Tia is exactly what Bridger needs. She has her head on, but isn’t too serious and knows how to have fun. I loved her in the first book, but I might have developed a little crush on her. I would love to have her as a friend.
Bridger is finally growing up and takes his job as enforcer seriously on and off the ice. I really enjoyed watching both Tia and Bridger grow as individuals and there was more than a few laughs at comments made.
I have quickly fallen in love with this series and author. I can’t wait to see who Cupid’s next victim is.

This was an interestingly good ya book! I read it so quickly and now I’m going to read the others in the series and I’m so exited for that. It kept me hooked with all of the mysteries going on. EmVee was an amazing character, I just loved her spunk and charisma. The ending definitely had me wanting more and I’m glad I don’t have to wait to get it.

EmVee is a strong female character that is trying to find her place in the new town she and her family have moved into. Little does she know that it’s a town full of secrets and nothing is as it seems. Two boys like her but no one has time for attachments. With the help of her new BFF Racher, she works to discover the secret her father is hiding. Even being a young adult book, this book is a fascinating fantasy. I was pulled in from the start because she is the child of two professional fighters and is training to be a fighters. That is not something usually seen in teen girls. I love the different approach to the story. Strong female characters are a really nice thing to see. The plot line was flawless and had a really great plot twist. Silas was written in such a way that he felt creepy from the beginning. So pushy and had to be the top jock. Kayson felt like there was more to him, especially at the end. This was a terrific story that has me planning to read more of the series. This is a standalone but there is a series that goes with it.

This book was packed with things! Literally! From chaos to humor, it had it all. I could not put it down, from everything happening I was very mystified and holding on for dear life! The writing was sensational, and the author made a great visual story with everything come to life!
I loved this book. UFO’s and bad people, and the good guys of course. I value this book because I laughed and bit my nails as I read. I was very invested as I read. A lot, and I mean a lot, of stuff happens. Some good things and some bad things, to certain people I will say. The book gave us a lot, and in return just wanted our interest. The book was visually, I felt I was right there in the lab. The lab certainly held many unique Characters I will say!

Such a intriguing mystery, full of action, suspense, and everything I would hope to find in such a triller. Of course, the characters were all wonderful, and brought and added their own sense of personality and wonder to the story! I was hooked, and very much invested as I read.
The book was amazing with wonderful characters of different kinds that brought on very much wonder and triumph to the story, and the mystery that surrounded these characters really fascinated me. I was hooked the entire way through. I loved how the mystery held more than I first thought at first glance. Sometimes the obvious is not well, as obvious as it seems. I learned that one for sure from reading this book! I was hooked, amazing writing, and story line! So good from start to finish! Loved it!

Evan Adler has taken a step back from his career in Hockey to become an RA and athletic trainer for the women’s gymnastic team at the University of Bellevue. He doesn’t plan on Callie Pearce, a Bellevue gymnast, she has a way of getting under Evan’s skin. He can be candid with Callie, his worries about his mental health and future goals. Callie has a way of listening that brings a calmness to him. The only problem is Callie has someone in her life that is adamant that they not be together, can he convince everyone that she is his whole world and he will not anything to ruin that?
I really appreciated that Evan didn’t give into pressure and put his mental health first, even though it scared him. I thought the emotional connections you feel while reading this one was wonderfully written. I really enjoyed this story and thought Callie was a bit quirky which brought a smile to my face.

This is the second book in the Astoria Bay Thunder series and is 237 pages in length. Who doesn’t love a good frenemies to lovers story? This story follows Bridger and Tia. Tia meets Bridger while helping on a photo shoot. You can already feel the sparks pop but there is no way she wants anything to do with him. Bridger needs to get his act together before his lifestyle brings him crumbling down. Will Tia take down her wall enough to let Bridger in?

I love shifter stories and this one was right up my alley. I loved that it was just a bit different than others I have read. It’s a story of the struggle Nolen faces after his brother was killed and he is expected to become the next alpha and find his mate. I fell in love with the main characters and was very glad to see Nolen’s self confidence grow with him. Overall, highly recommend this book!
This was a very enjoyable book. It was a sweet story of a woman’s journey to make her way in America. She never thought of being a mail order bride but her situation was pushing her in that direction. What kind of man would she find in Ohio? What would the journey to her new life bring her?

Nolen is a young man of fifteen, he lives with his family and the rest of his pack, the Rhyolite pack and he is the second son of the Alpha and Luna, he is more than happy to be second in command under his big brother and the rest of the pack is happy with that too, until one day when his brother is killed by a neighbouring pack and Nolen has to step into his bog brothers place as the next Alpha.
Nolen is not happy about this as he does not have the best history with his pack , however, he is sent too another neighbouring pack for training, Nolen is nervous at first, but when he starts to get to know the other pack members, he comes into his own and makes friends. When he finishes his training and returns home for his eighteenth birthday, they are also celebrating his first shift and the finding of his mate, so when he finds her, he is gutted that he can’t tell her because of pack law, but he keeps as close an eye on her as he can.
Fast forward three peaceful and happy years as Alpha of his pack and Nolen is doing really well, however, another pack threatens that peace and in order for him to stop any bloodshed, he challenges that pack’s Alpha and loses. As he struggles to regain his health, Nolen has to find a way to become stronger and take back his pack, but will he be able to gather the strength and support of those he needs to do this and claim his Luna in the process? This is a fantasy romance with aspects of a coming of age tale mixed in where peace and war teeter on a hairs breadth line and love, strength and support are all that hold the balance between the two in this story which will draw you in slowly at first, but then lead you on a wild tale throughout.
This is book 4 in Fitz series. I think if you read them from the beginning it will give you a better understanding of the characters and their stories. I haven’t read them in order. It didn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of the story though but I will be going back and reading from the beginning.
This book has it all and deal with some very sensitive subjects, the main one being sexuality and how some people are targeted because of that.The author does this in a way that is respectful and informative which really brings the story to life. It is full of emotions from happiness and sadness, love and betrayal, danger but underneath it all is family love. Andy has really got a struggle on his hands. His partner recently left after he couldn’t cope with Andy’s diagnoses of Parkinsons. Leaving Andy to cope on his own with his illness but also their adopted deaf daughter. Heartbroken Andy pushes forwards always trying to do what’s right for them both. Just when Andy feels he’s back on track Stephen returns and wants to give it another go. Can he be trusted after last time? Should Andy let him back in or will he end up being hurt all over again. Add to this drama the fact that there is a serial killer on the loose that is targeting gay men and Andy is in more danger than just getting his heart broken. Fitz is Andy’s brother in law and he’s a detective. When he is handed the case of numerous men who have passed supposedly at their own hands he realises something isn’t right and its a race against to to stop the killer and potentially save Andy from becoming a victim.

Omg i really enjoyed this story by C.L. Ledford was really well written, a real page turner pulls you right in. Nolen was treated like crap for years. When his brother was attacked and killed. He suddenly becomes the next alpha and his life goes through a lot of ups and downs before getting to his HEA with Amora. Looking forward to reading more books by this author. Highly recommend reading this.
