Isabella Bride of Ohio is the 17th book in the American Mail-Order Bride book series. Poor Isabella is having the worst time in her life. Her parents die from illness and the factory she works in burns down. Living in a time where women have few choices she decides to become a mail-order bride. She starts to correspond with Donald and wonders if this is her happy ending. However, there is danger waiting for her on her way to meet her new fiance. Luckily, she is saved by a Pinkerton agent named Tom. This book is a clean romance and a fun read. I found myself getting into the plot quickly. The characters are well-written as is the plot. Easy to read with romance and twists. I am very excited to read the other books in the series.

LOVED this one! It is a wonderful beginning to a new series. It has action, suspense, drama and some romance. This is very well written from the storyline to the building of the cast. I really *felt* for these characters and I actually was very moved by a scene that included a dog. I enjoyed meeting Levi’s family and learning more about him and what makes him tick. The female lead was a complete mystery and I am going to leave her that way so you can discover her secrets all on your own. She did surprise me more than once.
This is a first time author for me. I adored her character’s and can not wait for the next in the series. While this is a clean romance the story is fulfilling enough that I did not miss the open door scenes.

However, when Bella arrives, she is not the docile, do as you’re told, charge…she is strong, independent, and willing to hold her ground. While Levi’s brothers, Amos and Elijah, have no problems with her….Levi and Bella butt heads and have some pretty heated disagreements. But this soon gives way to friendship and an undeniable attraction (which Levi is determined to keep at bay for as long as possible). However, when danger arrives at their doorstep, will Bella remain just a job?!? You will have to read it to find out! I enjoyed these characters. I enjoyed watching Levi open up his heart as the story progressed…and Bella started to feel that protection that she has been needing for so long. There was laughter and suspense…and the hope that these two would finally give in to what they have been fighting. Overall, a good book that I enjoyed reading.

This is a contemporary romance story with a bit of excitement thrown in for good measure. This story had a bit of everything you could want from this genre – great characters with a strong connection, a sweet and believable romance as well as bit of action for entertainment. I thought the two main characters worked really well together. There was push back from both of them in the start but the bond between them grew into such a strong connection. I thought the author did a great job with the supporting characters too. Everyone added to the overall story nicely. The book was well developed and a truly sweet romance. I am looking forward to more from this author.

When I saw this book, I was excited to pick it up and dive right into it! This second novel in the Casket Girl Series envelopes you into the world that the author built. The moment I opened the novel it came to my first stopping point-which I wouldn’t have stopped had my daughter not woken up from her nap- and I was halfway through the story! I’m elated that the novel is continuing the story from Desire’s point of view and how she has handled everything since she came to New Orleans. The only thing I was saddened to see was a tidbit from Greer’s situation, otherwise, it was a great novel! Desire out of all the Casket Girls was the relatable one for me, and someone who is honest even though it hurts is someone I want in my corner! We follow her and Theron’s journey in tracking down the remaining vampires in New Orleans, which gave me serious Buffy vibes, who had done her and her friends wrong! Her relationship with Theron is definitely not something I saw coming but thoroughly enjoyed watching unfold. Dark and mysterious Jaxon enters the scene and definitely makes it harder for everyone to concentrate, especially our favorite redhead! I suggest you read it to find out the ending and enjoy this paranormal journey for yourself!

I grabbed this book because of the cover so I dove in blind. I wasnt sure what to expect with this book but it sure wasnt the heart clenching read this was.
High school age reads are not my go to reads as they are usually young but acting older than would seem normal, dealing with situations that are far fetched etc but that is NOT case with this book. My heart broke in a million pieces with each blow we see in this book but our main characters are fighters and I was rooting for a good outcome.
Glad I took a chance on this book, I love this author so knew it would be good.
My 11 year old daughter is having trouble with her reading. She saw me reading this and asked if she could try it. I asked her what about this book had made her ask. She said that the pictures made her want to read it. We read the book together. She was engaged and enjoyed it. Not only was it entertaining but it had underlying messaging around disability awareness, that you don’t have to go through things alone and how to face your fears. It was great to see her excited to read a book for once. I have found out that there are a couple more Jake books so will be reading them with her too. It was a good wholesome book with great messaging. Highly recommend.

This is a really enjoyable romance. I loved the chemistry between the characters both Bridger and Tia know how to push the others buttons and that only sparks their chemistry more. Bridger is well known as a playboy. He plays hard both on and off the ice but this behaviour is now biting him in the butt as bad press and being distracted during games is having a negative impact on his career. He’s decided to lay off women and concentrate on his career that is until Tia walks into his life.
Tia has had a bad experience with rich playboys and has learnt her lesson the hard way. Never again will she be caught up with a rich playboy. However things get a bit sidetracked when she meet Bridger.
The attraction between them is instant and steamy. With both of them not wanting to commit they settle on 1 weekend of fun. But what happens when that 1 weekend isn’t enough. Could Tia be the girl to finally tame the notorious playboy? Will Tia even contemplate more with Bridger? And what happens if Tia’s past is revealed? This was a really good story about Nicco and Destiny. This book has it all, friends to lovers, angst, and a great slow burn story. I loved that it was a slow burn and we got to see these two try to make it work. My heart did break a few times but it got put back together very nicely.

Nurse Morgan is back in another new paranormal romance. Just as funny and quirky as the first and loved it from first page to last. One of those books that makes you LOL and has something for everyone…. a bit of drama; some spooky interludes and a dash of romance thrown in. Kate has done an excellent job with the Nurse Morgan books. I love them and will keep an eye out for any future Nurse Morgan escapades.

This is the first in the Nurse Morgan series. I was a bit hesitant having read the overview of it but it didn’t fail to impress. Loved it from the first page to the last. Having worked in the medical field I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it – but I did! I am looking forward to seeing what Nurse Morgan gets up to in book 2! It has some great LOL moments that kept me reading well into the early hours of the morning.

Tia has had enough of rich playboys, after the last one tried to destroy her, she is wanting a quiet life, until she is plunged into the world of hockey. Her boss is shooting the calendar for the Astoria Bay Hockey Team and when she runs into Bridger her world goes slightly off centre, the chemistry between them is great but he irritates the crap out of her and he is in the “Playboy” category which she is wanting to stay away from, but can she?
I love a good hockey story, and this does not disappoint, the interaction between the main character is great to read. I love a good frenemies story and the chemistry between these two is electric, with the insecurities that comes from both main characters just adds another dimension in to a great story. I loved that this book can be read as stand alone within the series and I can guarantee that I will be reading more in this series and by this author.

I loved this story. It explained adoption in easy to understand terms for kids! Most importantly the messaging was that it doesn’t matter whether you live with adopted parents or birth parents so long as they love you. A cute, engaging read!

This book was so GREAT I literally could not put it down and finished it within 24hours, which is something I can do if I am truly hooked! I have read other books by this author and was so excited when I saw this book as it sounded like something totally up my ally to read. Levi, the main character, has very bad PTSD as he is an ex-Navy Seal who has come back to his family’s home due to his parents’ demise. One of his close friends call him and states that they have a rose that needs planting, which means he needs to help watch someone who is in protective custody. This is how we meet Bella. Bella has an ex who with her testimony will be able to put him away for a long time so her being safe is the only objective. This was not your average love story, which made it great as it was one of a kind and a very great read! I cannot wait to read more books in this series as well as by this author!

Levi has been forced to return home to help run the family ranch and to look after his little sister with his brothers when his dad and stepmother died. They are all trying to find the balance in their lives but when an old military friend of Levi’s asks for a favour, he is more than happy to help protect the person in his charge.
Bella is scared, she put herself in a position of no return with a man who is violate and evil, when she receives a way out, she takes it with both hands but when she lands on the doorstep of Levi and his family, can she keep the pretence up with the family or will she break as they openly welcome her into the family. Plus, can she also hide the chemistry between her and Levi?
This is the first time I have read a book but this author and will not be the last. I enjoyed the way the story flowed, and the characters were well developed, the contrast between Levi and Bella was a lovely dimension with the higher society in which Bella lived with the coldness of her family to the honest and warmth that flowed through Levi’s family was great to read.
With the secondary characters this brought the world to life, and I am desperate to see if the author continues the series with the other brothers whose stories are there for the taking and to also see more into the future of Bella and Levi. I cannot wait.

Levi, an ex- Navy SEAL, recently returned home to his family ranch after losing both of his parents, he and his two brothers have taken over caring for not only the ranch, but also their little sister Allie who’s been left devastated by their recent lose. The last thing Levi needs right now is some snooty beautiful English woman coming into his life and fighting his every word. But that’s exactly what he gets when asked by an old friend to house Bella and keep her safe.
So under the guise of her being a nanny hired to take care of Allie, Bella, now going by Beccy learns the ins and outs of farm life. Between Dodging two gorgeous brothers whom she started to consider family and one brother who can’t seem to say anything nice to her, but for some reason she can’t get him off her mind, she has her hands full. Bella definitely didn’t know what to expect, especially when she finds herself falling in love with Levi, can Bella and Levi work through their own past traumas and find love and safety within each other’s arms. Or will the past catch up to them…
Terrific book, the dynamic between the brothers makes for a wonderful read, throwing a spicy little through bread in added the perfect amount of flavor to make for a captivating read. I love that this book dives into so tough subjects as we discover some of Levi’s past as a ex navy SEAL while still keeping the story light and enjoyable. Its definitely something I’d like to see more off. I would LOVE to read books about the other brothers, they are very charming and though we only skim the surface of them as characters in this book, they are hard not to fall in love with.
There’s a lot of growth in Bella during this book as well, I believe that she came from a place of privilege and was thrust into a unknown situation and family dynamic which forced change where there otherwise wouldn’t have been any.

Mermaid and the Water Magnifying Glass is the third book in the Mermaid Science series by Lois Wickstrom. It is a bright, interesting, entertaining, and educational children’s story that takes them on a cute adventure while also teaching and inspiring them to learn about science. We follow the cute characters, Maia, Fig, and Trezzie (whom we know from the previous books) on a new science adventure, where they make a magnifying glass out of a drop of water. We readers are shown the steps to the ‘science experiments’, which are simple to understand and duplicate easily at home. The characters are cute, quirky, and endearing…. And along with the bright and colourful illustrations, they bring the whole story to life. The use of fantasy teamed with science, engages both imagination and inspires learning. Blood & Vengeance is the second book in ‘The Casket Girls’ series by A.D. Brazeau. I loved the first book, and this one is even better again as Ms. Brazeau intensifies things even more. Again, this fantastic story is wrapped in a gorgeous cover that certainly catches the eye. This paranormal delight is set in New Orleans, 1728- which gives the whole story a wonderfully atmospheric feel, infusing the story with rich textures and its own unique identity. This story continues on from the events in Book #1. After what she went through there, Desiree is on a quest to eradicate the remaining nest of vampires. But things aren’t quite that easy as a powerful witch enters the scene with an agenda of her own. What happens makes for a really engrossing read. If you love paranormal romance with vampires, mysteriousness, demons, curses, danger, witches, history, mythology, tension, magic, and dramatic developments- then you will certainly want to get your hands on this book/series and dive in asap. Couldn’t and wouldn’t put it down till I’d read every word…. Now I need the next instalment, “Blood & Magic’, STAT! Happy Reading!

When I picked up this book I was really unsure what to expect. I’m not a huge sci-fi reader especially a sci-fi romance novel. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It was definitely a fresh take on romance. Mia who was enslaved by the scrivians, traded to Throl and forced to fight for her life in the arena and Castor an Atlantean ghost with a huge military career are fated soul mates and meant to be together, but how ? Especially if he keeps throwing himself in harms way to protect her. Castors kiss pulled me in from the first page and kept me reading until the end because I just couldn’t wait to see how it would end. It was an incredibly fast-paced, quick read, I finished it in two days.

I fell in love with this book and its characters. It was very funny, realistic, and sweet to say the least. Nicco has an incredible story that you never see coming, he wants to love and be open so bad but his past will not allow him until he meets Destiny. She’s an angel to him so selfless and loving and genuine. Destiny has her impression of Nicco but as a ‘fan’ who has seen his ‘work’ well she sees him as inspiration and that is only until a deal is made. Candi, this girl is everything Destiny isn’t and her best friend since they were kids. I love the push and pull with Nicco and Destiny there isn’t ever a dull moment. Also, make sure you read the ENTIRE book including the prologue.

A wounded Seal that has demons of his own that he is dealing with is called to protect a witness. This book gave me all the feeling and kept me on the edge of my seat once I got into it. It started off a little slow as I envisioned it was sad in the beginning but once you’re past the 3rd chapter and you meet Bella aka Beccy you fall in love with her and Levi and the thriller of the past life they have endured and overcome. I would love to read a sequel to this!

This was a really good read! I enjoyed this one a lot. It was sweet, romantic and at times emotional. This was fast paced which made it a pretty quick read. This is a great series and I love that each book can be read separately as a standalone so you don’t have to read the previous books in the series. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series either!

When I started reading it felt weird reading a holiday story in July, then I kept going and it wasn’t a holiday book and I ended up enjoying it.
There were 3 stories with in the book, though individuals there are also crossed with the center being Leona and her bookstore. That is where the magic happens.
Charlie and Sadie were just meant to be together. They meet at the bookstore though their paths should gave crossed several times before that fateful day.
Price and Fiona kind of broke my heart. They loved each other but life had other plans for them. They are reunited at the bookstore after several years.
Leona the unofficial match maker has helped with at least two couples (I’m betting there were more that we have no clue about) finding their happily ever after but neglected herself and her happiness.
This was a book that warmed my heart a little and was glad I picked it up.

This story is amazing. Nicco and Destiny are not in a rush to do anything together. Their chemistry is off the charts but they have both been badly hurt before and have no desire to experience that again. Can they find love together? Will they over come all of the walls they each have up? After spending weeks getting to know one another, what happens next? WONDERFUL story. Definitely worth the anticipation from chapter to chapter.

Isabella Bride of Ohio, American Mail Order Bride is not the type of book I normally read, but it sounded interested. I admit, I didn’t know American mail order brides was a thing, but it intrigued me. The topic being quite taboo, made it all the more interesting. I liked Isabella, but also felt quite bad for her situation. She has had a hard life, and she is only still a teen! I was at first astonished for her to be all alone, but then had to remember it was a different time. I enjoyed reading the book but found her very naive, falling in love too quickly. I kept waiting for something to happen. She made me think of the movie Frozen – “You can’t marry a man you just met!” But yet, Isabella met, got engaged and wed very quickly. Again, the time and situation was different then. I wasn’t much surprised by the encounter on the train but if left me wanting to know more of Tom. Who is he? What did he mean by “like a constable” but yet wasn’t one. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? The mystery behind him kept me intrigued. The author kept sprinkling more facts as the book went on, and I kind of saw the ending coming, but still enjoyed it. It wrapped up all the loose ends. The book itself was a short quick read, so I didn’t get too invested in the characters, but it was enjoyable.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book SO much!! The characters were so enjoyable and relatable—the reader can’t help but fall in love with them, as they were slowly falling in love with each other! TOTAL relationship goals. Magnificent feel good read. Can’t recommend it enough!

At Happily Ever After Bookstore, you come for a book but you get a Happily Ever After with it. Sometimes that happy ever after is in the book you’ve purchased, other times, you might just find it with someone else. Leona loves helping her customers find the perfect book, but when possible she might meddle a little more and help them find something they were missing.
When Sadie comes in looking for a Christmas Romance, Leona points her in the right direction. While looking for the perfect book, she bumps into Charlie. After both have selected their books, paid and left, they soon discover that Leona has mixed up their books! Now, on the hunt to find one another, they find themselves in the midst of match making and a holiday miracle starts to happen.
Sadie and Charlie aren’t the only ones who are finding their Happy Ever After from the bookstore either! When Fiona moves to town, she’s planning on starting over years after her divorce. When Leona discovers that both Fiona and her ex-husband Price are in the same town, she uses her skills to get them alone together. After all, it’s obvious there is unfinished business there.
Just when Leona thinks she’ll never find her happily ever after, something goes wrong with the bookstore and Jon Ford, handyman, enters to help fix it up. In no time, Leona starts to believe he could be her happily ever after but then finds out it’s more than just him she’s getting into. Is she ready to live a man and his kids with her whole being?
I loved this books set up and idea! The author does a wonderful job creating her characters and helping the reader see them fall in love. I only wish that it had been more interspersed or that each set of characters had their own book with more detail in it. The way this is set up gives more of a short story feel, which leaves me craving more.
Happily Ever After Bookstore definitely makes you believe in the magic of a good book and I’m curious to see if we get anymore of the happy ever afters that Leona has, or will, play a part in. Great writing, great premise and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

5 Stars Levi (The Brothers of Creekside Ranch Book 1) by Edith Mackenzie
Levi is the first book in The Creekside Ranch series and a Cowboy Romance that I truly enjoyed reading. This is a fairly new author to me and I look forward to seeing what other books she has written. This is a fast paced short story that I read in one sitting because I had to know what was going to happen next. The characters are relatable and fully developed and easy to fall in love with. The storyline flowed so well that I felt like I was apart of the story. This is a wonderfully written story about Levi and Bella. These two couldn’t be more opposite from one another but you’ve heard the saying “Opposites Attract”. One thing these two do have in common is the one thing that is keeping them from finding love and happiness. The chemistry between these two is definitely there. Find out what happens next with these .i highly recommend reading this book. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I just really enjoyed this book from beginning to end I have never read this author before but I will read more of her books in the future. This book is about 3 different couples that come into the bookstore and find love one of the couples is the owner of the bookstore who enjoys getting people together. Each couple has their own unique story to tell and I enjoyed reading about them all. I just love bookstores and finding love and I thought this author did such a good job of making it magical.
