Murder Most Pemberley is the first book in the Eliza Darcy Mysteries series by Jessica Berg. This is an original, contemporary cozy mystery that is a nod to ‘Pride and Prejudice’, a bit of a fanfiction story if you will, as our female lead, Eliza, is a descendant of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
I thought the premise of the story was brilliant, and quite clever on the part of the author. I really wanted to love this story as I am an Austin fan…. But unfortunately, I was left a little wanting as I couldn’t connect with the character/s the way I would have liked, which prevented me from fully immersing in the story.
I have had a very busy few weeks of late, reading a lot of darker thrillers, which may have coloured my opinion of this book…. So, I have decided to revisit this book again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way, or if perhaps I was just having an ‘off’ reading day.
If you love cozy mystery, or are an Austin fan, then you might want to grab a copy of this story to explore.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Jessica Berg!
