If you are looking for a short spooky story to get your Halloween mood started look no further. This is a short story. It does start slightly confusing but brings you up to speed quite quickly. It seems we are in a slightly post-apocalyptic world where “Hungries” and humans live slightly together even though then “Hungries” would just have you for dinner rather than over for dinner. Our main character who remains nameless is now truly feeling alone during this, but she makes you understand this is for the best. Don’t debate with this one, it is a good quick read. What a SUPER great read! This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I was hooked! The way that this book was written had me on the edge of my seat wanting to know more and had me speed reading! The story line was so original and one that had me hooked from the beginning of reading the synopsis. I love a good contemporary romance and was not disappointed! I cannot wait to read more by this talented author!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this boxed set of wonderfully written cozy mystery stories, all with a musical theatre theme. Each story follows plus-size chorus girl, Ruby Ecco, as she and her travelling theatre troupe travel from city to city all over the world, performing musicals. However, everywhere the troupe goes there seems to be a murder, but luckily Ruby is an excellent amateur sleuth. In, ‘The Sound of Murder’, Ruby is just starting out with her new travelling theatre troupe as a chorus girl. When one of her cast-mates is murdered, Ruby goes into amateur sleuth mode in order to find out who the murderer is, and why they killed a women who was playing a nun!
In, ‘West Side Murder’, Ruby along with The Melody Street Players, are in town to perform at the local theatre. However, Ruby soon finds herself investigating a decade old case, of a body found on a local retirement community’s golf course. Police at the time said it was natural causes, but several of the West Vista del Boca residents are still convinced it was murder. Ruby’s investigations are complicated by the two rival factions, who are battling for control of the community council, but Ruby believes the ongoing war might explain what happened on the golf course. In the final story, ‘Little Shop of Murder’, Ruby finds herself attending her boss’s nephew’s wedding as a spy. Her boss wants her to do some sleuthing at a family wedding, as the groom’s younger brother appears to be dating a rather mysterious and elusive woman. Ruby fears that the horror on stage will spill over into real life, as every show seems to coincide with a murder!
I literally ‘binge read’ this boxed set, and was hooked from book one till book three. I love the heroine of the stories, Ruby, as she is such a likeable and relatable character, and so well defined that I felt as though I was alongside her as she did her sleuthing. The descriptive narrative brought both the settings and characters to life, making me feel fully immersed in each story. The storyline’s flowed well and the plots kept me guessing in each story. I enjoyed the added musical theatre references, and I definitely recommend this entertaining and engaging boxed set.

If you love a Mafia romance this is the series to read. More from the Chicago Mafia, they believe in family and loyalty and romance. No it’s not always romance as we see it because of the Mafia responsibilities but the men of this family take all of their responsibilities with the highest of values. What more could you hope for from a Mafia series; family, love, loyalty and most of all the Mafia.

This book caught my attention from the moment I read the description and it kept it right until the last page. I knew this was a book I had to read to find out what was going on. I really enjoyed the main character in this book. I was rooting for him the whole way through to figure things out. The connection between him and his family was just great to read. This is a new author to me and I loved the paced they injected into the book. It was exciting and a thrill to read. I couldn’t put the book down because I just had to know what was going to happen and how things would turn out. This was a truly great book and I can’t wait to discover more of this authors work.
This book is so well written and vividly captures the era and location that the author has chosen. The characters and their complexities completely make this book and create a depth and intensity I wasn’t quite expecting. The story really drew me in and I think the author has done an amazing job at writing something that makes you think like this one does. For me what really made this book so good was the setting the author chose for the story. I think it added an extra layer to story. I thought the overall pacing of the book was just right and the author knew exactly what to do to keep you engaged. This is one of those books that caught me by surprised but I enjoyed rom start to finish.

This is a awesome collection of mafia men, the ladies they love and what they would to to protect the family! There are four stories in this collection.
Savage Secrets-book 4
Another great installment in this series! The title says it all…it is chock full of secrets. I loved trying to figure them out while reading. This book is an easy, interesting read and I easily wanted to finish it in one day. I struggled putting it down because I was very interested in Elena. She has been a secretish character in most of the series. She is full of crazy skills, charm and smarts. She is my favorite character. Marco is the normal possessive mafia guy, who has his own secrets, and I did like him but Elena and her story took the lead.
Ruthless Heir-book 5
What I loved about this one the most? We got introduced to two completely new characters. In past books we had an inkling of who and what they were about. This one is such a surprise! I zipped right through it! Entertaining, dangerous and full of characters we have come to love!
Collateral Damage-book 6
Another wonderful installment in this series. I did not love it as much as the previous ones simply because Trey isn’t a boss or underboss he is only a brother. So some of the things he did and was privy to in here seemed above his pay grade. I understand that it is a close family but when all the boss’ meet I don’t remember him being there in previous stories. Trey has always come off as a doctor first and it seemed like he only fixed injuries for the Five Families. In this book we get to see another side of him. There is one scene when Trey goes into Protective mode…Me-OW…I loved that scene for two reasons. First I did not think Trey had it in him to go all alpha dominant male and secondly that was so sexy!
Rivals-Book 7
What a Story!! I love reading this series! I can’t get enough! The storyline is fast paced and the characters are smart, sexy and have wonderful chemistry. I enjoyed meeting Mia. She really has that spunk and stamina that surprised me a time or two. The male MC we have jot seen a lot of and I actually grew to like him. He has no plans for love or marriage. I loved watching his turn around as he discovers all consuming love.
This is 820 pages of pure mafia bliss. Sexy and possessive men, strong sassy ladies and all the action you can handle. I highly recommend this series and this book!

This is a nice story of a man and a woman on the verge of divorce. The story revolves around them but leaves little tidbits of some bigger going on with the Freemasons. There is very little movement in the big secret of the Freemasons. Some action in that area would have been good to beef the story up a bit. The characters are good. This is a second chance romance between a married couple. They have good tension between them. I liked Cole as he was trying to do anything he could to keep Ava around.

King – Review by Angela Plate, October 2022
The Mafia Elite Series Box Set: Volume two contains books 4-7. Each book can be read as a stand alone but contains the same cast of characters with each book focusing on a different pairing of main characters. Every book sucks you in from the first page to the last. You will never be disappointed as each book is a different story line with action, plot twists, romance, danger, and well crafted characters that are not carbon copies of one another. Absolutely one of my favorite series and I highly recommend the Mafia Elite series. With this box set you can binge read the following four books.
Savage Secrets, Book 4- Born and raised a Mafia Princess Elena knows that in order to survive she must always be looking over her shoulder. A new life under a new identity that cost her cutting all family ties. It is years before her cover is blown. To stay alive she must return home to the world she ran from. Marco believes the only woman he ever loved is dead, but learns she is very much alive. For how long? Marco must be quicker than the enemies in getting to her or she will truly be dead. Marriage for protection of her life is arranged.
Ruthless Heir Book 5- Luc has worked hard for what he has from the ground up. Becoming the heir to the Brambilla mafia wasn’t something he planned on, but he didn’t shy away from the opportunity once it presented itself. Summer is on the run and trying to survive under the radar. It is with a few drinks that she finds herself with Luc for a one night stand. At least that is how it started. Romance, danger, and the mafia? What could be more tempting to read about.
Collateral Damage Book 6- Surgeon and mafia man Trey La Rosa is the main male lead of this story line. After losing a lover from outside of his criminal world he finds himself hard pressed to be in love with another woman. Hailey daughter of the woman that owns the hospital where Trey works finds herself walking the line of the dark side. Out to get her step father for his misdeeds against her mother and the children’s wing finds herself kidnapped. Working with the hot doctor to follow the missing money eill Hailey find the answers she seeks? How dark and twisted will her world become involving the mafia doctor? Will Trey find his true love and happiness with Hailey?
Rivals Book 7- This book is just as amazing and page turning as the six books that came before it. With every story, including this one, the author manages to captive you with a different scenario of the same mafia world. This is another amazing mafia romance and sports the enemies-to-over trope with the tale of Nico and Mia.
Mia, mafia princess from New York, is in trouble and the person she has chosen for help? Nico la Rosa an underboss of a Chicago mafia family, aka the enemy. Will Nico be able to look past the title of enemy to protect Mia and help her take down her own family?

Where do I even begin? I absolutely loved this book!
This story follows Emilien (a cursed elf lord), his (semi-ex) wife Hel, who is the ruler of Niflheimr and the Queen of Helheimr, the land of the dead, and their daughter, Shalendrah.
Something dark and dangerous is creeping into their lives. While Emilien is still trying to find his brother and sister-in-law, things just keep getting in his way. And now he and Hel have been thrust into the past and must find out why and how to get back, while their powers seem to be leaving them.
This is a beautiful story that is full of adventure, longing, discovery, romance, and so much more.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. I was excited when I was able to listen to my first audiobook by her. This is a great story that the narrator brought to life with the different tones in their voice. They kept the story engaging and had me coming back for more. A story full of romance and will pull at your heartstrings for sure. I enjoyed how connected the characters are. This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. This is a great audible book and I look forward to listening to more in the future. I highly recommend this audible book.

This a short sweet story about what the author imagines it might have been like for a priest when the veil tore in the temple. I love how she includes some of the Jewish tradition in with it. It really makes you feel like you are right there when it happened. It really makes you think about it all also. This is well worth the short time it will take for you to read it.
Savage Secrets Book 4 Elena Caruso left home after she got news she was hunted by the Bratva. Her only choice was to follow what she had learned from her mother. She had been gone 4 years, when she received a text message stating The Bratva knows where she is. Before she can get out she is found and by not only the Bratva but by the one she has always loved. Not knowing Marco is coming to protect her, she fights him and runs for her life. Only after being shot does she slow down. But the danger is right behind her. Who can she trust? Why is she being hunted? Marco La Rosa must find Elena and get her to safety. She is not only in trouble, she is fighting him with all she has. Can Marco convince Elena to trust him? What is Marcos’ real plan? This author again kept me glued to her book. Not only is it well written, it grabs you in the first sentence and you just can’t put it down. I love this series and the characters, Elena is one strong independent woman. The women of this Mafia are just as strong as the men. The fight is real for these characters. When all is read, you will find yourself wanting more. That is what makes this series so entertaining. I recommend you read this series in order, you won’t want to miss any of it. No Spoilers Here!
Ruthless Heir Book 5 Welcome to the Mafia Elite and the 5 families who run it. This is Book 5 and involves Luc Savino and Summer Johansson. After a one night stand, decided by both. This couple’s lives go down a different path. As Summer heads to work the next day to discover she has a new boss. The company she worked for as a sub, has been bought. Her new boss, well you need to read the book to discover who he is. I love this series! The women are just as powerful and their alpha males. The storyline is fast paced and will keep you reading. The rollercoaster you are about to board, will trigger all of your emotions. In the end, like me, you will want the next in this series NOW. This author never disappoints, and I am finding myself drawn to her and her books. Her stories are alway high energy and sure to keep you wanting more. This story is well written and the characters fit the parts they portray. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next in this series. I recommend you read this series in order. Get to know the characters and follow the author along.
Collateral Damage Book 6 Trey La Rosa, hard working Dr. Plenty of looks to keep the woman’s heads turning. He is also a member of the family mafia. While he keeps his job seperate from the family, he has no interest in finding a love interest. He had one but she had died, so he has buried his head in his work. Until….. Hailey Carmichael, never wanted anything but to belong. She lost her sister and father in a car accident, and her mother has turned her back on Hailey. Therefore Hailey is on her own. Until the day she is kidnapped…… That’s all you get from me. No Spoilers! This is one of my favorite authors. You know the kind, where you drop everything to read the next book in the series. She did not disappoint with this one. This story is fast paced and high energy. Just when I thought the worst was over, I was wrong. I fell head over heels in love with this family and their wives. The female characters are strong and independant and the men are hot and steamy, oh and deadly. This is a must read!

This is the first book in the Freemasons series. It was a really good read. I loved how passionate Cole is about Ava and how Ava has grown in confidence and independence however this increase in confidence has also made her blind to what is in front of her.
This story was heartbreaking to read in parts. To see how a couple so in love could fall apart when tragic events hit and communication is lost. Instead of turning to each other in their time of need they pushed each other away until the gap between them seems so huge they will never be able to close it. Or so they thought.
When Ava turns up at a charity event to speak to her estranged husband Cole she had 1 goal in mind. She wants a divorce. After all Cole doesn’t want to be with her. He only married her out if a feeling if obligation so its going to be easy to get a divorce right?
Cole on the other hand has other ideas. Cole is devoted to Ava and has no plans on letting her go. He assumes the words he isnt saying is enough for her to realise how much he loves her. When Ava asks him for a divorce he is shocked and dead set against it. He needs to make her see and remember how good they were together so he comes up with a plan.
If Ava will work for him to plan this charity event for the Lodge he will grant her the divorce she so desperately wants. And so his plan of action to win her back starts. Can this couple finally learn to open up and communicate? Can Ava see how much Cole loves her? And will Ava be able to resist her attraction and feelings for Cole when they are living and working together?
It is a very powerful story and one quite a few couple may go through and relationships end because of the same reasons that Cole and Ava has.

This turn-of-the-century historical fiction is a great mystery to cozy up with (don’t forget some piping hot tea and fuzzy blanket because you will want to read well past your bedtime!) Once I picked up this book, it was hard for me to put it down and engage in real life – that’s how I know it’s a good one. The setting and characters are set up and developed very well and make for an easy read. I appreciate the back story that the author weaves throughout this book to make Lottie come alive and jump off the page. I have read the Notebook series by this author – and love it – so I knew I would love this one. I was not disappointed. I love the way this author paints the scenes and develops the characters to make you become so invested in their stories that the pages turn without much effort. I highly recommend this author and this book.

I really enjoyed this paranormal romance read. The story was engaging from the very beginning and I really liked the characters. I felt like they had a great connection which carried through the story. I’m still relatively new to paranormal stories especially shifter ones so I found that part really interesting to read about. The setting for the story was pretty unique too which added something a little extra to this book. I liked Ryker and Wednesday both were really unique characters to read about. There was a definite attraction between them even if they tried to ignore it! Overall a wonderful story that was beautifully written!

You cannot go wrong with these books! Whether reading or listening the author and narrator is so good at keeping the readers attention and telling the story so that the reader is left wanting more. I love that while I have snagged this series every chance I get, these books can be read by themselves or in order. I also love the series that break off from each of these books. 10/10 readers will not be disappointed with any book this author gives us!

This was a really fun and entertaining read. From the very beginning I felt a great connection with Olivia, she was a really down to earth person just trying to rebuild her life after everything that had happened to her. She was a really relatable person and I felt like this gave the story a realistic feeling to it. The authors writing was great, the book flowed so well it was easy to get lost in it. The characters development over the story was great both the main and secondary ones. Friendship between the characters really shone through in this book and how they all supported Olivia in her new venture. Overall this book was a really great read, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

This book had me all in right from the beginning….and this author is one of my favorites. A second chance romance with loss, grief, love and definite hot tender moments.
Cole wants his wife back, Ava feels differently and wants a divorce. When Ava approaches Cole about a divorce so she can “move on”….Cole denies her request. Instead, Cole fights for what he wants and that he wants Ava back….and in order to try he proposes that Ava is to help and be project lead as his even planner for a big charity event. Working closely together and arranging to live together again, will Ava’s feeling about a divorce still hold true….as so much cooped up feelings of grief, guilt, loss and sadness have evaded them both?
This story was wonderful and flowed to easily as I turned each page. Cole and Ava stole my heart in this story…two beautifully broken people trying to find each other again and open up……..and I love them together.

Totally loved the first book and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. This author has been added to my favourites and I can’t wait for the next instalment.
Some of my unresolved questions were answered in this book and whilst you could read without having read book 1; I would highly recommend reading book 1 first.

King – Review by Michelle G
Really enjoyed this novel and had a hard time getting things done until I finished it. Olivia is a loveable character, along with the friends she makes along the way. The author did a great job balancing good dialogue, a push and pull between lightness and heaviness, and wrapped it into a fun to read story that feels like a carnival ride. The range of people Olivia encounters while growing her business keep things interesting, and I liked how the author kept a bit of mystery around her two new suitors until the end. A fun read, for sure.

Short but riveting story There is so much within these pages that it didn’t feel like a short story. With a quirkiness that one comes to expect from this author the story delves into the pitfalls of dating in a post apocalyptic world. The imagery and storyline are very well done and had me totally hooked. It’s written in an amusing and unique way. Recommend.

I picked up this book in hopes of starting a whole new series and I can happily say, I will be reading the rest!
This book was a ride! There is almost 2 stories happening. The biggest one being the reunion of Cole and Ava after a tragic event in the beginning of their marriage. It truly was a reminder how important communication is in a relationship.
The second story in the book is where we start to learn about the mission the four friends are on as part of the freemasons.

So this is my first book by this author, and man it did not disappoint. I was captured immediately within its pages. Salvatore Larussio never planned to be the Boss but that is where he has found himself. He must lead the family after an attack at a wedding. Adrianna is the doctor they have employed to patch them up. Salvatore can’t seem to fight the growing attraction to her. She has her own secrets though. Will her secrets destroy them or save them?

4 Stars Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms Book 1) by EG Manetti
Elemental Fire is book one of The Hidden Realms series and is a Paranormal/Fantasy/Romance that I really wasn’t sure what to expect going in. Once I got started reading I couldn’t stop the twists and turns had me turning the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This authors style of writing and characters are developed and the attention to detail is remarkable This is a new author to me but I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written. This is a fast paced story packed with action and adventure that will have you turning the pages. Sometimes you don’t know the hold control can have on you and it will have you second guessing rather or not you ever truly had control or not.i highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im eagerly waiting for the next book and look forward to reading many more books by this author.

The back and forth between Damien and Evelyn was interesting. Some parts had me scratching my head and other parts made me feel bad for the characters. At first I felt like Evelyn was a little sheltered in way, but as the book progressed she began to blossom into a strong character that I enjoyed reading about. Then in comes Damien. At first I thought he was your typical bad boy, who thought he was all that, then things took an interesting turn that had me questioning everything that I thought I knew. Lie after Lie Damien struggles to keep things straight. You kind of feel bad for the guy almost. There was a lot of memorable scenes in this book that I loved.
