Falling Home (Buckeye Falls Book 1) by Libby Kay – Review by Rosanna Ingram

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ginny is returning to her hometown to take care of her father as he recovers from surgery. What she is not there to do is to see her ex-husband and catch up with him (because there are still lingering feelings after all these years) or take part in any of the holiday activities that the town is known for. However, when she ends up planning the Jubilee, along with her ex, all those plans go out the window.

Max has missed Ginny since she left without looking back two years ago. He spends one night a week with her father as a way to still feel close to her. When he hears that she is coming back to take care of her father, his mind is all over the place. When they end up working the Jubilee with her, and all those feelings starting creeping back up, he knows he shouldn’t get too excited because she has plans to return to New York. Can he get the Christmas miracle he needs to convince her to take a chance on them again?

This is a story of how love is not always enough. There needs to be communication and a balance between work and home. These were together for over a decade…and it took one rough year to tear them apart. When they are given their second chance, will they take it? Or do they truly believe their time has passed? I enjoyed this story and the supporting characters (Ginny’s dad made me laugh!).
