Following the fallout of the attack from the PEM (Pure Earth Movement), the PHAE (Protectorate for unHidden Advancement and Education) find themselves struggling to heal all those that were harmed. While healing the outer wounds, Roisin finds a deeper sickness that she can’t quite grasp to heal with her powers. She and others request the help of the old Irish gods. But their help will come at a cost. Will their cost be too high a toll? Can they find a way to protect themselves from PEM without the gods help?

This book picks up right after book 1. The story was intriguing, and I kept reading because I wanted to know how it was all going to work out. There was a lot of information but not quite an inundation of it like in the first one. Seeing the introduction of the gods with each of the characters whose power coincides with was quite an addition to the story. In my opinion, the author did a fantastic job capturing how the gods would think as opposed to humankind. The conclusion has promise of being epic. I truly hope that it is!
