A Dowry of Snails and Mud by Brittany Tucker. This is the story of 16 year old Rhia Caddell who is tired of her life in the village where she is expected to marry someone her father has arranged for her to marry. Forced into a marriage with a Prince she does not like him nor her so of course the marriage is off to a rocky start. If she doesn’t stay married it could destroy her village. Rhia is very outspoken and wants things done her way and that is not how things are done in her village. When her husband is kidnapped by a group of men called the Wildmen she has to use every bit of that back talking, strong independent ways she has to save him. The village is on the verge of going to the Wildmen and being lost forever along with her husband who she realizes now that he is in danger, she loves!
