Whispers in the Waters (Blood of the Fae) by Sarah Chilson – Review by Nicole Thompson

Sarah Chislon’s novella, Whispers in the Water, chronicles the quest of the soft-mannered herbalist, Jessa Caldwell, who travels to an unfamiliar city at the behest of her aunt. The enigmatic town rests near a portal to an otherworldly plane, fraught with potential peril due to its interactions with the Fae. As Jessa embarks on her mission to aid her aunt’s companion and the village people, she must be wary of exposing her own hidden secrets in the process. This deftly-written book has been commended for its well-crafted characters and setting. Despite its briefness, Chislon’s work packs an immersive punch with vivid descriptions and enticing plot-lines. Fans of the series are excited to discover what mysteries Jessa will encounter in the coming installments.
