I love history and the tragedy of the Romanov’s the last Tsars of Russia is a heartbreaking tale. The author did an amazing job of re-imaging what it could have looked like had the daughters survived. She was able to perfectly describe how they would have felt living in disguise, in fear of being discovered, and the heartache of losing their parents and younger brother. The second youngest daughter Anastasia is well known, so it was wonderful to get to see the perspective from Olga, the eldest daughter. She has to work to keep her sisters safe and after reading about how a peer of the realm is accusing her mother, a German princess, of betraying Russia, she can’t sit back and let it happen. The author does an amazing job of describing how the former Grand Duchess might feel in this situation. The story centers on the sisters and their bond, but there are elements of romance sprinkled in. It looks like there is going to be a sequel and I can’t wait to see what happens with the other sisters.

I love when I get to read a book that once I’m done my soul does a happy dance for a while. This book was everything I didn’t even know I was looking for. This author in my opinion brought everything needed for an amazing story. The storyline was fast paced, fun and I laughed so much. The characters are the kind that you want them as real life every day friends. The banter between them will keep you entertained for hours. I can’t wait for more in this series. Five of the biggest stars I can give and highly recommended!

I didn’t realize this book was a series and I can’t wait to read the others because I LOVED this read so much. The chemistry between Flynn and Chavez is amazing and I loved reading it!! Phenomenal character development, hands down. I enjoyed the romance and just the entire damn book. This book was a good way to keep my mind off of things lately and I deeply appreciate the author for writing something that grabs my attention. I love how books just captivate you. I will definitely be reading the other books to this series! ASAP.

Hansel and Gretel are on a picnic in the woods with their dad when they hear a tapping sound coming from nearby. Their dad tells them not to go far because there is a witch living in the woods nearby. He goes on to explain to Hansel and Gretel that the witch wants to enter the most beautiful house contest. Hansel and Gretel go off to explore where the sound is coming from and discover that it is only from a woodpecker. They try to return back to their picnic but now they are lost. As they wander through the woods, they stumble upon a gingerbread house with animals eating it. When they decide to start nibbling on the gingerbread house as well an old lady comes out and tells them to stop. Have the children ruined her chance to have the most beautiful house?
This was a cute, toned down version of Hansel and Gretel and I really enjoyed it. I loved that the children were on a picnic in the woods with their dad and exploring nature. It was definitely not as scary as the version I recall hearing as a child. The characters were wholesome and both Hansel and Gretel were typical, inquisitive children who needed to discover for themselves where a strange sound was coming from. The witch in this tale was only wanting to be rewarded for her hard work of making her house beautiful. Another fantastic story by this author with beautiful illustrations that really bring the story to life.

We all remember the story of Chicken Little from our childhood. This is a story that follows the same pattern but has a bit of a different take. Chicken Little gets hit in the head by a fallen acorn. Once he investigates what hit him, he shares his news with several of his friends. They all test out the theory with something of thier own idea. Together they head to see the King to find a name for their theory. On they way, they meet up with a fiesty old fox who tricks them into coming to his house to be a bit to heat. Luckily for them, they are ingenious and use their clever brains to outsmart the fox and get to the King’s palace. This is a cute story, with great illustrations to make a good read aloud for small children!

Spirit Guide is Book 3 in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries Series. Madame Elinor Chalamet is approached by the Duke de Archambeau, Tristan Fontaine, to help a nobleman find his missing daughter. This time Madame Chalamet has more help than she can handle with the nobleman, Tristan, and an annoying apprentice. The nobleman seems to be gruff and hard to deal with. Tristan instructs Elinor to be careful and insists on her not investigating the case alone. Madame Chalamet’s young apprentice only adds extra stress because she seems reluctant to follow instructions. Matters only intensify when their investigation leads Elinor to her beloved Morpheus Society. Now she must determine if the Society is involved and if so, to what extent.
Book three follows with the relationship between Madame Elinor Chalamet and the Duke de Archambeau, Tristan Fontaine so I recommend reading the first two books. Their relationship is a bit complicated and it seems that there was a spark between them that started when they first met. Yet, neither Elinor nor Tristan seems to know what exactly their relationship is or if it will become more than what it is. Elinor is frustrated because Tristan seems to be attracted to her one minute but then practically shuns her the next. Their relationship started to unfold a bit more in this story and Tristan showed Elinor that he cared through his actions and wanting her to stay safe.
The characters are wonderful and it is easy to root for them. Elinor Chalamet is both a fantastic medium and detective. She is smart, strong, feisty, determined, headstrong, and hits the scariest of challenges head on. Tristan Fontaine is charismatic yet seems aloof and almost comes across as cold at first. In this story his character developed a bit more and we were able to see that his attitude and behavior are more like coping mechanisms. His heart has been scarred from a tragedy in his past and he is still trying to work through the demons of that painful past. Madame Chalamet’s new apprentice, Twyla, seems like a bumbling little twit who has no desire to listen to anyone and is determined to do things her own way. As the story unfolds it becomes clear that she has talents that she has kept well hidden out of fear of the trouble it may cause her. Those hidden talents come in handy for Elinor in this investigation.
I really enjoyed this storyline and the intensified paranormal aspect with the realms between the living and the dead. The involvement of the Morpheus Society was an intriguing twist to the story that added an extra layer of intensity and a layer of possible corruption from within the Society. The storyline kept me hooked to the end and contained a few twists and turns that kept me reading to the end. I highly recommend!

This sweet story of an un-birthday tradition between a little boy and his beloved Grandpa teaches little ones the importance of savoring time (and cake!). The whimsical illustrations contribute to the illusion of using what was initially a disappointing un-birthday present (a seemingly empty box) to learning how to wield the power of his “magic wand” (or, his imagination).
An enjoyable and engaging paranormal romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Cameron Pompeo sees and feels things that he cannot explain, like the young girl, Jocelyn who appears nightly in his dreams, and seems so real. When his cousin Reed also shows up in his dream he realises that Jocelyn is real, and is important to both of them. Meanwhile, Jocelyn Parker has struggled with her guilt ever since her mother was tragically killed in an accident. She has convinced herself that she has made up the two most important people in her life, although something in her soul tells her that the two men are real. The three of them are finally brought together on a cruise to the Mediterranean. They finally meet, make real memories together and make promises of a future with the three of them being together. However, with outside forces threatening their relationship they may not be able to stay together when the cruise is over. This is an entertaining read, with an intriguing storyline and plenty of steamy romance. The characters are likeable and relatable, and the chemistry between Cameron, Jocelyn and Reed sizzles off the page.

First off, there are some sensitive subjects in this book. That said, it is a well-written story that draws you in right from the start. The characters in the story are so relatable- I could feel all of their emotions and I really identify with them. It is a thought provoking and gut-wrenching story. 4 stars Braving Lily is an Opposites Attract Rock Star Romance story and the fifth book in True Platinum series. Each book is centred on a different couple but can be read as standalones. Morgana’s characters they are easy to like and become invested in them. The chemistry between the couple is most certainly steamy. The story line is well written and easily imagined with Morgana’s narrative. Rhys is in no mood to pander to a spoilt, rich little girl. One heart break is enough to set him straight on the fairer sex. No way no how is he going down that road. Not happening no matter what. Lily is not a walkover she is sexy, strong and sassy star and is not used to being ignored. She wants to meet the man with the audacity to stand her up. She won’t take no for an answer. I enjoyed the push-pull between these characters and all the frustration, angst, tension and drama we get to see as we journey along with Rhys and Lily story. You will need to read it to find out what happens.

I love historical fiction. It’s my favorite genre to read, and I have always wanted to write my own. This fast, informative, non-fiction guide to writing a historical novel is fabulous for anyone who has ever wanted to take on this endeavor. It is easy to read and follow and breaks down each important step for you. This author’s style of writing is very easy going and personable and would be a quick, interesting read even if you aren’t an aspiring writer. This book has given me the motivation to get back to work on the writing projects I have let fall to the wayside because of lack of “know-how” regarding what to do after the piece is written. I am so glad this book fell across my path. 5 stars.

4.5 stars I love LM’s scorching tales and The Sweet Temptations Trilogy is just that. You will need a nice cold shower and a ciggy after reading these. L.M. Mountford likes to give us erotic stories that leap over the boundaries and this trilogy does not disappoint. Scandalous, lustful and desirable, erotic, sexy, sinful, forbidden desires are only some words that always come to mind when I read LM’s books. Your Trainer Says Hi! The second book in the Vengeful Vixens series is my type of humour. I love a good refreshing Rom Com and Indie is a new author to me but she does it in spades. How have I not stumbled across this author before? Somehow, I missed the first book, and I must go back and read it now. I laughed out loud with the witty and funny banter. This is one of my favourite reads of the year so far. I wish the story was longer because it is an easy read and I had so much fun. Betrayal with a capital B. Revenge is sweet for Nadine especially when she gets down and dirty with Wick. Erotic spicy scenes. Ooh la la! That man knows his way around a woman. Sexy and steamy encounters, lots of angst, amazing characters, fun, and definitely hot and flirty. I love that these Vixens are sassy, relatable, and raw and know what they want even if they are a mess at times. I can’t wait for the next book.
This book is the second in the series and is just as good as the first. I was pulled into the story instantly by the characters and wanted to know more about them. As with the first book, this one is a unique story that I thought it was well written. This book was certainly all about the characters. The connection they had was undeniable and I loved every part of it. This author is still a new one to me and I am enjoying what I am reading so far. If this is what all of her books are like then she definitely has a new fan in me.

This is Pete and Rowena’s story and I am in love with the characters. He is not one to shy away from danger and jumping in at the deep end. Always there to help others. She is the holder of secrets. But what happens when their paths collide? What secrets can a blizzard reveal?
I am not going to ruin the story you need to discover all on your own.

This story is so good! This is a book that sucks you in and does not let you go until the very end. This story is told from the points of view of Peter and Rowena. They have a long history together that goes back from Afghanistan. This book is filled with romance and twists and turns. I have to say that I am a sucker for a good medical drama both on television and in books. This book series reminds me of all my favorite medical dramas I watch on tv. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is a fan of medical dramas because this contains all of the best elements.

Each of these books feature Richard Martin as the leading man. He finds himself in several very steamy situations involving his wife, the babysitter and his supervisor. These stories are so incredibly detailed and steamy. I definitely recommend them for a quick read that is super vivid and steamy.
This is such a wonderful story. As a child, I loved the animated movie of Anastasia and really have been pretty interested in the story of the Romanov family. So of course I saw this book and knew that I had to read this and it definitely did not disappoint. I love how this is an alternative events timeline as if the girls had escaped and how they escaped. I loved how they managed to escape and stay hidden. I also loved the tales of Olga and all that she did. This really is an amazing historical fiction story that I truly recommend. I read through it so quickly and did not want it to end.

Jennifer’s love of writing comes in the form of writing Russian historical fiction. The Romanov Heiress is her fourth published book and the first book I have read by her. The real history of the Romanov family is a sad tale. One full of heartache and heartbreak. One full of secrets and lies. The Romanov family was the last imperial dynasty to rule Russia. Jennifer has weaved a most intriguing plot based on Russian history through a fascinating fictional story. Full of interesting twists and turns every step of the way. Dangers lurking around every corner, lost heirs, greed, political power struggles, ambitions, romance, secrets and lies. There are many emotional elements in this tale with lots of palpable tension, angst frustrations, scared, betrayal and fear where the Romanov’s lives are in turmoil, lives have been destroyed and the future is uncertain. Now in hiding after running for their lives Olga tries to reconcile the past and what she thought she knew. But she uncovers so much she no longer knows which way is up or down. Through all this she must keep what is left of their family safe at all costs. It was and intriguing and interesting to read. If you like historical fiction you will like this.

Well once again I have come across a great book for children. I have read a fair few of this author’s works and this was yet again a great one. I love how she is able to get the kids attention and create a world where they are not just reading but learning. The author does a great job of making a good environment and story for children. I just wish my children were younger. I truly highly recommend these books from this author.
If you’ve read my any of my reviews, you know that historical fiction is my absolute most favorite genre to read. This book did not disappoint at all!
Jennifer Laam is a new-to-me author and I thoroughly enjoyed how she weaved together this story of the Grand Duchesses of the Romanov family. Their harrowing escape by a generous benefactor is the beginning of this story and will lead you until these ladies can finally breath somewhat again. This is a time period that I’m not as familiar with but I feel that the story was captured fairly accurately in terms of the history. I can’t imagine having to live as Olga and her sisters had to in order to survive. Their story is beautifully tragic and I look forward to reading the next book in their adventures together.

This book is so real. Privileged kids who think they can do anything they want with no consequences, sadly that happens all too often. I loved this book. I very rarely rate a book 5 stars unless it is Stephen King, however this book deserves 5 stars, there are a few grammatical mistakes but that does not take away from the story at all. I was pulled in so well that I felt all the emotions that Ben was feeling. I absolutely could not put this book down. The struggle within himself about what was wrong and what was right, what had happened to Claire that night and what was the right thing to do. Should he tell or should he try to forget about it? It was tough seeing this young boy struggling with what to do and the guilt of what he has witnessed. I felt every single emotion with him and at times I felt sorry for him as he realized no one was in his corner and at other times I really wanted to shake him and say “Ben, you know the right thing to do, now go and do it”. However I also realized the trouble trying to understand as a teenager, the struggles within himself. I loved Phoebe and her family, they were great to me, they did break the law sometimes but they loved adventure. Would Ben’s phone call 40 years later be answered and would they ever get closure? This is one of the best books I ever read and it will stay in my favorites, as I often reread my favorites. I will be looking for more books from Laura Koerber as she is an amazing author.

The devastation of the world from genetically modified food is terrifying considering it is currently happening to our foods. The story is very well written and Mrs. Greenhall has a way of pulling you in, even if you haven’t read the other books in this series, which I had not read, I do recommend reading them though. I think I would have understood the characters stories much better if I had. This book is a wonderful blend of reality and sci-fi, and I throughly enjoyed it. I would give this book 3 stars only because I hadn’t read the others in the series which would have given me a better understanding of the characters. From now on I will be sure to read previous books if in a series. Mrs. Greenhall done an amazing job!

This is such a cute book. It’s got a great meaning behind it too. You just have to believe in yourself. The graphics are wonderful and the story is inspiring.
This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed from beginning to end. I look forward to seeing what is next for her. I enjoyed how she used her writing skills to pull me into the story with ease. Her characters made the story easy to read and had me coming back for more. They have great growth and add so much to the story. This is a fast paced, suspenseful historical story that is hard to put down. A story about four sisters along with dark secrets and a relationship that is even darker. I enjoyed the suspense and the twists and turns that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. This is a story you don’t want to miss. A well developed story that is engaging and entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book.

This was a gripping historical fiction story. The author had done a amazing job with researching the era and all the attention to detail really brought the story to life and made me feel like I was experiencing that time period along with the characters. This is a story full of danger, Suspense a chance of romance and secrets that will be revealed over time. How are you meant to react when you find yourself falling for someone who is the enemy? Why are they the enemy in the first place? And what connection is there to the Romanova sisters family.

This is a gripping read that keeps you on the edge of your seat as the secrets get reveled. I loved the historical detail as it really brings the story to life.

This is the fourth book in this series which is just as great as the previous three books. I highly suggest reading the previous books in this series to help your enhancement of this series and the characters. This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book and this one is no different. This is a well written story where the author has created characters that not only pull you into their world but make their story come to life. A story where there are battles and unexpected allies but are they true or another obstacle to stop Lane from going home. This is a great story that is fast paced and hard to put down. A story where it will take you on an adventure that just keeps going with hopes of going home. This is one of my favorites of the series for sure. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

Under My Care pulls you in so quickly that you forget you are reading and not part of the action. There are points of view from Peter and Rowena. The story has everything and I do mean everything. An action packed love story full of emotions. Add to that the biggest snow storm right as all hell breaks loose. This book was everything. Your emotions will vary throughout. I may have cried a lot. I didn’t want to put it down or it to end and was glad it was long enough to get everything out. I loved it.

She sets you up on page one and you can’t put this story down. The roller coaster of emotion and romance make this a must read! Her characters are strong, independent and easy to fall in love with. This series has been Amazing and I look forward to seeing where this author goes next.
