When Loretta’s Grammie Stella comes to visit from Florida, she brings an orange tree for her. Loretta discovers aphids on it that Grammie tells her to get rid of or they will kill her plant. Loretta does not want to get rid of the aphids because she likes insects. Then Loretta discovers a katydid on the tree that ate the aphids but is also eating her tree. Loretta is unsure what to do to keep her orange tree alive to take to the science fair. Should she keep the katydid? Will her orange tree survive?
This is the fourth book in the Loretta’s Insects series and like the other books it is fun and informative. This book teaches about insects and the roles they play while also being entertaining. It is beautifully illustrated and easy to read. I have really been enjoying this series and learning about insects alongside Loretta. A great read for children of all ages.

I had many emotions reading this book. Brooklyn had worked super hard to get were she is at today. She had a very hard past. Her abusive ex is released from jail, now she has to watch every turn she makes. She meets Oliver and Jaxon while out with a friend. They happen to be donors of her business. The brothers have also had a rough past. Sparks start to fly the more she gets to know the boys. She also meets Gideon and Aiden, together the boys make the Four Knights. She relies on the of the boys to help protect her for her ex. The boys don’t mind at all protecting her. This book was not the story I was expecting to read, it was way better.

I loved the prequel and couldn’t wait to read more on Riley and Cole and the “Elites”. This book did not disappoint in the least! We get all that comes with a bully book, and I enjoyed getting to know more about these characters. Cole is obviously still hurting from the ending of the prequel but trying to move on with normalcy in his senior year and then add in Riley and it’s a mix of emotions that only high schoolers can have.
I will not give anything away detail wise as I don’t want to possibly spoil anything at all. I cannot wait for the next book as that ending had me trying to flip the pages that weren’t there.

Destiny of Light is the third book in the Quirk of Destiny Trilogy. It’s definitely worth reading these books in order as the story jumps right in – you’ll need the previous books to get to know the characters and what’s going on!
This is a fast-paced dystopian sci-fi story. It explores themes such as power and privilege, science and ethics. It’s thought-provoking but also a gripping story that you will struggle to put down! It’s full of twists and turns. There’s also a great cast of characters, and you’ll easily find yourself rooting for Calum and his community as they struggle to survive.
The story is told in short chapters, changing between different settings and focal characters. Personally I prefer longer chapters that get me more immersed in the story, but this style suits a story where there’s a lot going on, and would be great for readers who find short chapters work better for them. I will say it’s good for reading on the subway – I could squeeze in a couple of chapters before my stop!
This book gets four starts from me. I’d recommend it to fans of apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic sci fi, but make sure you read the series from the start!

As the friends make their way to the King to discuss their discovery and come up with a name they run into Foxy Woxy. Their discovery helps them to outwit Foxy Woxy and escape.
This is a unique twist on the Chicken Little story where the only thing that stays the same are the cute names. In this version children are introduced to the law of physics in a simple, easy-to-learn, and fun way. This story is fun, easy to read, and entertaining. It is beautifully illustrated, which really helps to bring the story to life as it pops off the pages. A fun read for children of all ages.

Frozen by Lies is the first book in the Sleigh Riders Series. It is a paranormal supernatural fantasy that takes place in a remote mountain community that is kept isolated from other communities. The story centers around twenty-six-year-old Noelle Frost who works at the Blades Bar. Noelle is a bit of an introvert who is unfamiliar with the ways of the world. She is heavily protected by her family who is insistent that she is not to date. When a good looking stranger named Nikolaus Klaus arrives in the bar Noelle finds herself instantly attracted to him.
Nikolaus also finds himself attracted to Noelle, but her family is adamant that she has nothing to do with this man. They are suspicious of this stranger and become very angry at Noelle and forbid her from having anything to do with him. The Frost Clan and Klaus Clan are rivals and have been for as far back as anyone can recall. The problem is that nobody can answer the question of why these two clans are rivals. Regardless of the reasons relationships between them is unheard of and the thought of Noelle with a member of the Klaus Clan angers her family. Ignoring her family’s wishes, Noelle and Nikolaus find a way to meet secretly. What will happen when their families find out? Is their relationship doomed to fail?
The author did a great job of describing scenes and building the worlds of the rival biker clans in their respective communities. The description of the celebration of Christmas is vivid without being overwhelming. The reader is able to experience Christmas through Noelle as she sees it for the first time. The characters are ones that you either love or hate. Or love to hate, as in the case of Noelle’s family. Her cousins were overbearing and domineering as they tried to assert control over her. Although this seems odd there is clearly reasons behind their protectiveness. As the storyline unfolded Noelle was slowly starting to discover secrets about her family and I am certain there are some big revelations coming in the next book that will explain this.
Noelle was clearly an introvert that wanted to explore the world more and see what was out there. However, after leading such a sheltered life she was unsure how to go about this. She snuck out whenever she could but if she was gone any length of time, it would alarm her family and they would try to control her every move. When she met Nikolaus she stepped out of her comfort zone and was introduced to things she had not seen or known about. Being naïve and unfamiliar with relationships Noelle tried to flirt with Nikolaus through witty banter.
Although the dialogue and banter seem to come across as a bit childish I cannot help but feel that the author has done this intentionally. The worlds of Nikolaus and Noelle are in a magical realm with supernatural elements. This realm has an innocence to it that is almost childlike. The witty banter will naturally not come across as worldly to anyone from outside this magical realm. It is meant to be unsophisticated and innocent.
I found this book to be an interesting take on Christmas and the magical aspect surrounding it. Rival biker clans, magical powers, and deep dark family secrets added a sense of suspense and mystery to it that leaves you wanting to read more. The supernatural aspects and the magical gifts that the Frost and Klaus Clans have was an interesting element that added a twist to the story. I will be reading book two to see where this story goes and what farther secrets Noelle uncovers about her family.

Gwen Carter has died twice and is down right tired of dying. With her new inheritance she finds herself back in the family home. Hoodoo Texas, a place that ran her off has brought her back. The black magic, ghosts and murder will keep Gwen on her toes as she tries to break the family curse. She is older now but can she prove her innocence and catch the true murderer? No spoilers here. However, this author is new to me and I love his writing skills. The audible version puts you into this story. The laughter and snarky-ness of the characters will bring you back for more. The story is fast paced and easy to follow. But make no mistake you will want to read more from this series. I am looking forward to reading more from this author as well as this series.

This book is the final piece of this trilogy, bringing the Quirk of Destiny storyline to an incredible conclusion.
If you haven’t read books 1 or 2, please do so because they are incredibly written. If this is the start of your journey with this series, you will not be disappointed.
As you may have gathered from the synopsis or the cover art, this is an apocalyptic tale for the ages. Genetically modified food is the source of destruction of human kind and triggers the mutated group called Genies to be born with powers beyond your imagination. Some immediately think the end of times is upon them as they are consumed by fear and the unknown reason for all of this.
The main characters fight to save their friends, family and fellow humans against the destruction and mayhem, which the author set up beautifully within this series. The Elite group within this series was very intriguing. Overall the content makes you think about how similar situations in real life could ultimately trigger catastrophic events here on earth, now or in the future. Perhaps things would not be quite like that which occurs in this series, but then again, you never know.
I believe the author’s background helped create a landscape and qualities that someone else would have missed out on. She has a true gift when providing descriptive and passionate dialogue making the reader feel as if they are truly a part of the story.
Phenomenal conclusion to this series! Kudos to the author. I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for us readers in the future.

Steamy? – check! Why choose? – check! Multiple POVs? – check! 4 insanely scrumptiously hot men and 1 gorgeous woman with them all to herself? – check! This book was everything I never knew I wanted and more. Add in a great plot line, descriptions (peep those spicy scenes), and character development and you’ve got almost 400 pages of can’t-put-down goodness! Charlotte St. Pierre makes you feel all the feels in this book and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second one! (Thank goodness it’s out!) This is a book you definitely want to read right now (or at least add it to your TBR so you don’t forget!) It does end on a cliffhanger BUT Book 2 is already out so you can just go right in to the next one! So glad I picked this up!

In this cute story, young scientists can follow Chicken Little as she investigates what is falling from the sky while solving other problems along the way. This engaging story encourages readers to test theories and explore their world to learn from it. What a great way to incorporate many aspects of learning into one short story. The colorful illustrations bring the characters to life and help younger readers follow along. Such a fun read!
Spunky and sassy Gwen Carter has some of the craziest friends and associates to name. This story has had me rolling in laughter and then taking a double take with an “oh snap” the next minute. She herself has a give no f***s attitude, and it’s fascinating to watch. She’s got a lot of chaos in front of her but she does everything she can to keep her ground. She’s one of my new favorite characters haha. I’m so glad I get the chance to know her 😁

This is the 2nd book in the Buckeye Falls Series. These books can be read as a standalone without it deterring enjoyment of the story. The author does an amazing job with her characters making them realistic and easy to relate to. Cece is a strong independent woman who has had a tough time in the past. She had her heart broke and almost lost her career so as a consequence she’s built a wall around her to keep people away and her heart safe. Evan is wonderful. I completely fell in love with his character. He is a bit younger than Cece but he knows she is everything he wants. He just needs to get her to see him in a romantic way and not as some young guy with a crush. He’s aware she has walls around her and will stop at nothing to bring them down. Add to this a competition that is being judged by the one person that caused Cece heartbreak and almost destroyed her and the romance between Cece and Evan takes another knock. Can they overcome all the obscales against them? Can Cece let down her walls and allow Evan in? Together can they face Cece’s past and come away winner’s or will the past haunt Cece and still have a hold on her? This was a great read, this book will make you laugh out loud and at times feel like tearing your hair out but one things for sure Cece and Evan are two characters that remain with you long after you finish the book.

In Falling for You, we get to know Cece and Evan and watch as they find their way to love. I absolutely adore Evan. He is sweet, kind, humorous, and everything Cece wants if only she could see past the age difference and get over her mindset of being older in the relationship. While I like parts of Cece, she is my least favorite main character thus far in this series. Her attitude about a less than 5 year age gap irritated me a lot and I feel this was an unnecessary conflict for a minimal difference in age. Other than this, I enjoyed the story and learning more about Evan and his family. I enjoyed how Cece’s past came back to torment her, but I didn’t enjoy her lack of trust in Evan to handle her past situation because of his young 25 year old self. Overall decent but the MFC hindered me in fully enjoying this story.

Frozen By Lies is the first book in the Sleigh Riders Series and is a wonderfully written Paranormal Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. I’ve read several books by this author and I must say this is definitely at the top of my list. I mean who doesn’t love bikers, magic, drama,and a little cursing? This was right up my alley and I absolutely loved reading this book. The characters are relatable, fully developed and fun and a perfect fit for the great storyline. Get ready to be taken on quite the fast paced adventure. I don’t want to give away anything so I highly recommend reading. As always I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

First, let me say, while Calliope, or Callie as she’s most often called, is one of the strongest heroines I’ve read about, there are multiple conversations in this book that may be triggering for some people, as Callie has had the unfortunate experience of being in a relationship with an abusive, controlling, and manipulative person who is aided and abetted by his family along the way. While the book does NOT go into graphic detail or show most of the incidents, these conversations can still be triggering for some people, so please, PLEASE take your own mental health into consideration before reading this book.
That being said, this book was well worth the read. Callie Chen-Bisset goes through a lot, both within the confines of a romantic relationship, but also with her own family before that, and comes out stronger on the other side. She is abused mentally and physically, and comes out wanting to help others who have also been victimized by not just the same person, but others as well. Her main goal in that is to protect her daughter from the father who only wants her to try and gain the upper hand on controlling Callie. In the middle of all of this, she rediscovers a lost love from her youth unexpectedly. Brandon Rossi, was friends with Callie and her brother Curtis when they were all kids and teenagers until Curtis interferes due to his own jealousy, causing Brandon and Callie to not speak for fifteen years. When they meet again while Brandon is on a trip to try and find himself, and Callie is working with a client for her art business, they instantly feel the old attraction return. Brandon travels next to Paris where Callie lives and they begin a relationship while also trying to fight for custody of Callie’s daughter Eleanor, to protect her from her abusive father who only wants her to try and get Callie back so he can control her once again.

This was an interesting read. This novel is a fast paced plot with a strong female lead in a science fiction story which works well together. With Fire and Sword is the fourth book in the Thunder On The Moor series by Andrea Matthews. It is a fabulous time travel romantic historical fantasy with plenty of adventure, action, danger, tension, drama, mystery, suspense, angst, and more. Will and Maggie have been through so much, and just when their life seemed to settle- fate intervenes and turns their world upside down, again- requiring them to travel back in time again to try to fix things. What happens makes for an exciting read. If you haven’t read the previous books, I highly recommend that you do before starting on this instalment, as there is a lot of important storyline and relevant information contained there that will better help you appreciate and understand the developments, characters, and other intriguing details. I really enjoyed this book; I am a big fan of midlife paranormal women’s fiction. I love a good strong, sassy main character and Gwen is great, as are all the characters. I laughed quite a few times outload, (which made my grandson look at me like I was crazy). This story is the perfect pace and keeps you engaged the whole time. A definite must read.

What a way to wrap up this series!! Catherine Greenall created a masterpiece in this trilogy and this last book just tied up all the ends so neatly…or did it??!?!
I do highly recommend reading these books in order. Each book builds on the previous and you’ll lose a lot of background if these are read out of order.
This book focuses on genetically modified foods, nuclear bombs, dinosaurs of various kinds, Genies, crazy politicians, and so much more!! Callum and his crew are on the hunt for others like them who are against all these GMOs and misuse of environmental resources. When political foes try to squash them, Callum and his crew have to make some life-altering decisions. Haven’t they already endured enough?
It’s hard for me to write an adequate review without accidentally throwing in spoilers so I’m just going to leave this at…..YOU NEED TO READ THIS SERIES!!!

Jocelyn, Cameron, and Reed have a special connection and for years they have been coming to one another talking and getting to know each other through their dreams. Although they all have the ability to see each other in their dreams Cameron has a special gift that allows him to know things before they happen. When Cameron has nightmares about the death of Jocelyn’s mother he keeps it to himself and becomes riddled with guilt when her mom dies. He feels that he should have been able to prevent it and protect Jocelyn from such a horrific loss.
After losing her mom Jocelyn is overcome with grief and pushes away Cameron and Reed and convinces herself that they are not real. When she is hired to photograph a wedding on a cruise to the Mediterranean, she cannot believe her eyes. Across the room is Cameron and Reed in the flesh but she is devastated to see them both with other women. Jocelyn flees from them before they can hurt her any farther. Cameron and Reed are not willing to let the woman they love get away from them again so they find Jocelyn and explain that it was all a misunderstanding. The rest of the cruise is filled with love, lust, and passion as the trio get to know one another better. Will their relationship survive in the real world once the cruise ends?
Another interesting story by this author who does not cease to amaze me with her writing on connections through dreams. The characters were wonderful and I enjoyed how the story unfolded between Cameron, Jocelyn, and Reed. Their connection initially started when Jocelyn was a pre-teen and evolved over the years. As they grew older their connection became stronger. They all knew from the first moment they met in their dreams that they loved one another. However, they had to navigate their own feelings and determine how a relationship as a trio would work. This book was filled with love, lust, romance, passion, anguish, revenge, and drama. A great read!

Braving Lily (True Platinum Series Book 7) by Morgana Bevan
Braving Lily was an AMAZING read. Right from the start the characters grab your attention and they DO NOT LET GO. Through the whole story I was emotionally hooked. I could NOT put it down. The story will grab you by the hand and drag you along for the amazing whirlwind ride that it truly is. Lily and Rhys story is one for the stars. I’m so excited to read more. Thank you, Morgana Bevan, for bringing us these awe inspiring characters, they’re easy to relate to, easy to love, Or to hate, if that’s how you choose to feel. You wont regret following their story.

Another enjoyable children’s book and I love learning something new even as an adult that this story of Loretta’s Katydid Did.
Loretta’s grandmother visits Loretta from Florida and bring her a present, a small orange tree. Loretta was so excited to learn about her new orange tree, espeically with the upcoming school science coming up. What was not expected were aphids on the orange tree, and they can be harmful, but Loretta loves insects, while her grandmother suggests to rid of them.
Does Loretta keep her insects to see what comes about to her orange tree?
This story is great for young and old. The only drawback a bit for me is the illustrations, I feel like they could have been a little more clearer detailed.
Return to Hoodoo a magical story and is book 1 of 2 in the Boudin, Bourbon, and Barbecue duo. What an adventure there is in this Paranormal Women’s Fiction and Reggi’s amazing writing skills. How have I not come across this author before? Mind boggles. Hoodoo is a place with such a diversity of characters who are a quirky and unusual mix of complexity, multidimensional, multifaceted and dare I say all in all a crazy bunch of riff raff. With ghostly servants, uncontrollable relations, witches, cantankerous vampires, vindictive ex’s, werewolves, magic, a haunted house and so much more. Reggie has given us a gift and one beautifully and skilfully woven tale with so many threads that you do not want to put down. It will have you laughing, on the edge of your seat and an ending that may just do your head in and a pinch of sadness. I love that the MC is a little older than the norm and has had real life experience. Well real life for her in this unruly town. It’s so easy to get lost in this crazy world of action, murder and mayhem where midlife does not look the same. I love paranormal, supernatural, mysteries that are thrillers with a little romance. I cannot wait to get stuck in to the next book.

This is book 3 in the uniquely quirky The Traveler series by Deborah Dugan. This series is an unusually different Sci Fi fantasy adventure story with time travel. The Traveler is an original tale that captivates and intrigues its audience. The Traveler/Harry is a fascinating character. I recommend you read the books in order to learn about this timeless ancient being and his travels and encounters and appreciate the levels of the story. Deborah have skilfully woven fantasy and science fiction to give the reader an imagery that is creative and thought provoking and imaginative storytelling. It is engaging, and has an emotionally charged storyline. To save himself and others Harry must drive himself to the point of grave danger and beyond. Will they survive? I recommend this series to lovers of sci-fi and fantasy who are looking for something that is original, entertaining and thought-provoking.
With Fire and Sword is paranormal historical tale. It is also a time travel tale that is full of interesting facts which reflects the passion Andrea puts in her work. This is the fourth book in the Thunder On The Moor series. Make sure to read the books in order so as not to miss out the background and history of our characters and how they have gotten to be where they are. With action and danger, murder, and mayhem, angst, and suspense you have it all. Will and Maggie’s world is turned upside down the must once again return to the past to mend a rent in the fabric of time. Easier said than done. If they don’t succeed even with Dylan’s help, then the tear will change both past and future. If you like Outlander and the like, then you will like this tale. You will need to start reading to see if they find a way back or if the worlds are doomed forever?

It was great to read a sports book about a sport I enjoy and watch. It made it much easier to get into as I felt like I already knew what was going on. I enjoyed the characters that were paired with this book. They both had some much baggage and a lot to try and work through. They had a great chemistry and just seemed to work so well together. I don’t really think I would class their ages as an “age gap” but it was still nice to read about a reverse age gap. This book is a great follow up to the first and I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see what the next book in the series is like.
What is there not to like about a book that has the Disney Fairytale feel to it?! This book was a fantastic fantasy read that I feel young readers would really enjoy! I mean come on there’s fairies, magic, adventure, evil villains, witches, and castles it has everything that the world of fantasy needs. The novel is being told from Zarina’s point of view; she is also the main character. Zarina is a spoiled princess, (like the evil sisters from Cinderella spoiled) with quite a bit of older siblings. And as tradition would have it, she is about to have very her own Royal Advancement. And being the spoiled princess that she is, she has to have the best, most extravagant dress that the kingdom has ever seen, and even though there are plenty of troubles brewing in the kingdom, the only important thing to the Princess is having this amazing gown for her big day! Deals were made, but like always, anytime you make a deal… it doesn’t come out the way you thought it would. Now, Zarina has to make a choice on whether or not she is going to come to the rescue of her family’s kingdom. Does Zarina stay the spoiled princess or does she grow up and fight for her kingdom? The only way to find out is to pick up the book and get lost in the world of Zarina and her kingdom.

This is the first book in the Sleigh Riders series. I really enjoyed this fantasy romance. The author does an amazing job of bringing the story to life. The mixture of fantasy and secrets and danger with something as sweet as Christmas really makes this story unique.
This story follows the Frost and the Klaus clans. For generations there has been a battle between the 2 families. Neither one wanting to budge and inch. But what happens when a boy and a girl from opposite families realise they are fated mates. That’s what happens to Noelle Frost and Nikolaus Klaus. Their romance is powerful and such a great read as it unfolds but is it strong enough to mend the rift between the two families? Or make the war between them even worse? Add to this the secrets and lies that have been told through generations of the Frost clan that makes the females of the clan not realise the power they hold and this story really starts to heat up as the lies and secrets slowly start to be reveled. This is one book that promises Christmas feelings, snow, hot chocolate and romance with the added spice of bikers, hidden magic and a romance that could heal or destroy everything around them.
