Dawnbreaker: The House of Blood and Sun is a fantasy-filled story combining our world and Emerald City Under the Mound. Connor, a century-old vampire, was changed against his will, but his world changed when he heard Niamh el Ri’ili sing. Though there are plenty of tropes, the author creates an interesting story. I was pulled into Connor and Niamh el Ri’ili’s trials and tribulations. The story is quick and kept me wanting to read it in one sitting. Also, I enjoyed the cross between the two worlds. I think this added an interesting layer to both the characters and the story. Though this was my first read from this author, I will watch for other books.

Unexpected Entanglement is the third book in the series. This book is about Chris – who we have met before -a hotel conglomerate, best friend of Dean, and now a great friend of Rae’s. We find out at the beginning that Rae has extended family that just found out about her. She is not sure how to handle this news, and due to the fact that she is pregnant, Chris volunteers to go check things out. Rae’s father has left property to her and her siblings, but not sure what to expect. Chris arrives on this small island and things from the start become quite interesting. He meets Rae’s siblings – Rowan and Kieran Kelly. The siblings own a farm and inn that is trying to reopen, but in two weeks they are holding a wedding and not really prepared. Once Chris makes it to his destination, things start to move quickly; Chris offers up his services to help prepare for this wedding. While no one understands why he would be doing this, he tries to reassure them it is for the love of his friend. What Rowan doesn’t realize is that Chris is a blessing in disguise. Can the two work together to host this wedding? Will obstacles always get in the way of progress? Can the two keep their attraction to each other at bay to have a successful opening? Will the siblings be able to come together to produce a successful inn that means so much to their father? There is a lot going on in this book, but I love it. As the third book, I have already fell in love with most of the characters. Chris always had small roles in the first two books, but I knew I was just going to love him – and I do!! Chris is a down-to-earth, handsome, successful, smart, gentleman with a huge heart. He is a hard worker and confident in his abilities. Rowan is a strong, sassy, stubborn woman who is just a great partner for Chris. She is driven and begins to become more courageous about going after what she wants. The little bit of spice that is written was also enjoyable. It was a great story about siblings coming together, love finding each other, and healing from the past.

Being a mom myself and experiencing many of the emotions and obstacles that Julie is facing just drew me more into this story. Julie is dealing with the everyday motherhood getting her kids ready for their days, dealing with her husband, working, but tragedy hits and she is grieving over the sudden loss of her youngest son, Curtis. Through all the obstacles and challenges, Julie has to redefine herself and find purpose through all these changes.As I kept reading on this novel, I was also draw to the author’s words as she is mentally depicting the language that would have been used in my thoughts during my daily excursions. Must read for mothers who can relate!

I enjoyed this novel. The story of Niamh and Connor was interesting and a wild ride. I found the world created by the author very fascinating and so real. The story had some twists and turns and it kept me interested in finding out how it would end. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I could not put this book down!!! I wanted to…to savor the story and have time to digest it but like an addiction, I just had to know. There are so many facets to this story about Sloan, Ridge, and the rest of the Hadfield family that it’s hard to really put into words an adequate review without throwing in spoilers. I don’t want to do that at all!!
Sloan returns to her hometown, in the midst of a divorce, to care for her mom who’s being discharged from a mental health facility. Life for them hasn’t been easy for the past twenty years when Sloan’s brother, Ridge, went missing and was ultimately confirmed to be murdered. Those murderous hands, according to a court of law, happen to belong to Sloan’s dad.
It’s when a body is discovered that has ties to Sloan’s childhood that she starts to do some more digging on her own. Maybe “Digging Up Bones” will leave her “No Stranger to the Rain” but will it help her and others in end or should she just let things go?
Sloan has a love for Keith Whitley and Randy Travis, two of my favorites as well! Her love of music might be the only thing to save her sanity throughout this mess of her family!
I’m very surprised by the level of depth in this book by a fairly new author. This is only her second book but I’ve already got Enemies of Doves added to my TBR list! I love a great book that I can read in one setting that will haunt me for a few days!

This book was great, so easy to relate too. The author has a wonderful writing style and it’s easy to feel the emotions she was describing throughout. Easy read, keeps you engaged the whole time, and I would recommend this to others. Great Story, I am so glad I got a chance to read this, I hope others take the opportunity to feel “seen” also. I would definitely recommend it!
This is the first in the Legacy Series and its full of all my favourite things – paranormal beings, action and romance. There was never a dull moment – my attention was held throughout as the events unfolded and secrets were revealed. I enjoyed the character progression in Maren, her growth in times of uncertainty and danger is inspiring and as a result I became emotionally invested in her. These emotions are heightened by the conclusion of this novel as I am left needing more immediately! The way the author has created the characters, they feel real and although the couple aren’t quite the pairing you’d expect, it works so well for the story. The way the author has weaved it all together and written it so beautifully I honestly can’t get enough. There’s just something about this book that makes me want to start over again already.

I enjoyed this fantasy paranormal romance; it had a different side to the legends and folklore than the books I’ve been reading lately which made it refreshing. The world was created beautifully- the descriptive language and vivid imagery made me genuinely want to be transported there to experience it for myself. The writing flowed nicely making for an easy read which is always a bonus to me. The plot, and romance were unique and there were times I sure how it would go which kept me glued to my kindle. I don’t want to give too much away, but the pressures put on the pair only get worse and I thought the way their struggles were written, and how the characters reacted fit really well into their personalities. I had no problem believing the characters were all real as I was sucked into the story. Given everything, Niamh had to be my favourite. I felt she knew her own mind and I found her independence admirable, especially given her situation at times. She didn’t crumble and surrender with so many things working against her, she’s the kind of person I’d want on my team.
I’ll be looking out for more from this author moving forward!

This was such an amazing book, I couldn’t put it down. I read it in a day. This book in my opinion, was a twister paranormal type of book. It definitely was a page turner. The world building and character was on point. I have absolutely no complaints about this book.

This was a quick, easy, and engaging read. It was my first by this author and I quite enjoyed it. The world building was great, storyline kept you turning the pages, and the chemistry of the characters really comes through the pages. This book had almost anything you could want: enjoyable characters, steam, and suspense. I only wish it were longer! The author does a wonderful job, but the story and characters really could have been developed even more and more pages could have made an already very good story into a great one! I look forward to reading the rest of the series still!

This is an enjoyable and entertaining story, with an original storyline and supernatural characters, which kept me intrigued throughout. Wylie Kang-a Yeti is a peaceful and unassuming character, who lives a quiet life on the outskirts of Embarrass, Minnesota in his self built sanctuary. He also has an appreciation for the more human creature comforts, like toilet roll! When a series of strange murders take place in the area a Hunter arrives in town, and is soon on Wylie’s trail. With the Hunter in pursuit Wylie leaves town and heads for the Twin Cities, with everything he owns in his truck. He plans on loosing himself in the urban jungle, but struggles to fit in and blend in. However, when he finds a thriving supernatural community, he starts to settle in and make friends. He soon discovers that the bloodshed and the Hunter have followed him to the city. Wylie decides he must catch the killer before the Hunter catches up with him. This is lighthearted story, full of wit and humour, however the underlying issues such as Wylie not fitting in, are dealt with sensitively. I loved the characters, especially Wylie who I really felt for and I was immersed in his story, hoping he would have a HEA.

This is a heartwarming and at times heartbreaking read, which had me captivated from start to finish. This heartfelt family drama centres around Julie, who having had a transitory upbringing as a ‘military brat’, is determined to provide her own children with a sense of home and stability. Julie never had a hometown and so makes sure that her children are brought up in one forever home, however she didn’t expect to feel so fenced in! Julie suffers with feelings of invisibility, underappreciation, and being taken for granted by her family, whilst having unconditional love for them. When a tragic loss occurs Julie feels guilt for not being there for her family on that fateful day, which results in her being more overprotective of her husband and daughters, and ultimately pushing them away. This is an emotional read, and I felt really immersed in the storyline and engaged with the characters, due to the authors wonderful writing style.

This is an absolutely fantastic story that really pulls you in from the word go. I loved the characters in this book. They are such an unlikely pairing and yet the connection and their chemistry seems to just work. They complemented the storyline well too. This is an author that I have become recently familiar with and this book is a great example of why I keep reading more. It is exciting, gripping and is a great story. I could not put it down once I had started reading. This is a brilliant book and I cannot wait for the next.

I enjoy this author’s books so much and as soon as this came out I had to read it right away and I loved this story Riley and Tristan….sizzle, fire and danger…all that I love about a great story.
Tristan, a local firefighter, is mesmerized when he meets Riley and he cannot seem to get her off of his mind. Tristan makes a vow to protect Riley at all costs no matter what happens when a threat is inimate.
Riley, who works as a PI, meets Tristan as a chance at a local coffee shop. She is intrigued by this firefighter, whom she buys him a coffee as a thank you. When Riley is face with danger in more than once encounter of someone who has their eyes on both Tristan and Riley and poses as a threat.

Having read and enjoyed the previous two books in this series I was looking forward to this third instalment and I was not disappointed. Although part of a trilogy it can be read as a standalone story, however the characters do appear in all three books. Lauren and Mitch married twenty years after meeting age six and knowing they were soul mates. They married at a cheap Vegas wedding chapel, but for Lauren her modest wedding ring diamond was brighter than all the lights in Sin City! However, after the honeymoon years the wedded bliss faded leaving Lauren unsure why Mitch has pulled away from her. She puts all her time and energy into her restaurant, Pier Ninety-Two, in downtown Los Angeles.
Unfortunately the restaurant which used to be swanky and successful is now only just surviving, a bit like Lauren and Mitch’s marriage. A grease fire at the restaurant burns Pier Ninety-Two to the ground, leaving Lauren devastated and having to deal with the legal and financial consequences. Already confused by Mitch’s behaviour, Lauren is heartbroken by both the loss of her marriage and the restaurant. Mourning her past life and loves, she decides to head for Vegas and stack her chips, ready to risk it all on red. As usual the characters are so well defined that I felt as though they were friends and I was invested in their relationship. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading Lauren and Mitch’s story which is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. This was an enjoyable and engaging read, and I definitely recommend the whole trilogy.

I picked this book to read because of the title. To be frank, I knew it was a war memoir, but I was thinking seashells, not mortar shells. Once I recovered from my chagrin, I devoured the book. It is quite poignant and timely since we have the war in Ukraine going on presently. At one point, the author was sent to live with her grandmother, who was born in the same year as my grandmother. This memoir brings to life the daily details of living through a war to those of us who haven’t had the misfortune to experience such tragedy.

Amy’s Rebellion (Gemstone Massacre Book 1) 4 out of 5 stars This book was my first introduction with a character that used They/Them pronouns. This is an Adult, Dark Fantasy story. I would strongly place this book into the genres of mystery, fantasy, mythology and the LGBTQIA+ reading. I loved this book. The LGBTQIA+ representation was both subtle and beautiful. The characters in this book are strong, resilient, built to handle whatever is thrown at them, but at the same time they are graceful, gentle and unyielding. This was a new read for me and I am glad I read it. The mystery that this book holds kept me flipping each page fast and faster. A strong 4 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this short romance. It was a gripping read with a dangerous twist that made the story even more of a read I couldn’t put down. The author does an incredible job with the characters, you can’t help but what them to work out despite all the obstacles against them.
Tristan is a firefighter. Everyday he puts his life in danger protecting innocent people. After splitting with an ex and her turning strange on him, he had given up on the idea of romance that is until he meets Riley.
Riley is a private detective. She has seen the dark side of relationship far too often so she closes herself off to the idea until she meets Tristan.
But their path to romance isn’t straight forward. With 2 incidents involving Riley almost losing her life and Tristan rescuing her everytime they realise these aren’t random incidents. Someone is trying to harm Riley but why?
As this story unravels you are taken on a heart racing journey as Tristan and Riley struggle to find each other and escape a danger than is determined to keep them apart.

Riley Scott is a Private Detective who has seen more than her share of ugly. Both in crimes and relationships. She has no time, nor does she want time for another relationship. Tristan Cain the tall blue eyed firefighter. Has his own downfalls in the relationship department. Besides, he has other things on his mind, one being getting justice. That is all I can say about this story. I give No Spoilers! This is a story you need to read. The author of this book is very talented with her words. Her story is clearly written and at times I felt like I was seeing the events in my mind. The characters felt like people I know I would love to be friends with, maybe I already am. The story is fast paced and brings forth many emotions. This author was new to me, but not anymore, she climbed onto my must read list.

This book was a little different then the normal im use to. The author did an amazing job putting the real world and the fantasy world twisted together in this story. The characters were very well written that it made me feel like I know them and was in the story with them. Amy is a strong lead character that has some very powerful magic. the story itself is very well paced and easy to keep track of what is going on. There were a few twists and turns in the story that I did not expect and kept me reading more. This book was filled with magic, fantasy, paranormal, romance, danger, drama, action, and so much more. This was an all out good book to start a series, I did not know that there is a prequel and really feel like I would know more to go with this book, even thou it was good on its own.

This book was great from start to finish. An age gap, teacher student romance that will keep you entertained. The story flows flawlessly and the voices of the narrators fit very well with the dialogue. I have never seen any kind of performances like the ones described here, but it makes me want to go and watch the live action. Chandler has been a master aerialist mastering his craft over the year in his family’s business. Cassandra saw his perform once and got his autograph after a show which made her want to become an aerialist and to study under him was her dream. He has been waiting for a protege of her magnitude for a long time and now that she has arrived, she has not only captivated the audiences with her performances but his heart as well. Both are keeping secrets from one another which adds to the mystery of the book and keeps you trying to figure out what is happening. If you have children, I will definitely say don’t listen to this in their presence. The steamy scenes are a bit too steamy for little ears. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book of the series.

Noah’s Not So Super Summer is Book One in the Super Summer Series. It starts out with a bang as twelve-year-old Noah is desperately trying to escape from a group of bullies that are pursuing him. In an effort to evade capture Noah dodges into the bathroom of a local gas station and hides in one of the bathroom stalls. This is when Noah’s life goes from bad to worse as suddenly, he is being attacked by a mutant rat the size of a moose.
This becomes the turning point in Noah’s summer as his dream of being in The Summer With Supers Youth Program is crushed. A program he wanted to join in an effort to become popular, gain respect, and with any luck get away from the bullies that torment him. Instead, his dad forces him into helping him with his failing Mega Maintenance Company. Now he has to spend his summer cleaning up the destruction left behind after the mutants as they terrorize Lincoln City. Noah decides that he needs to investigate who or what the mastermind is behind the mutants and try to stop whoever is responsible.
This was a fun and enjoyable read for all ages. The characters were wonderful and the growing pains they experienced were relatable. Noah, especially, was a character that any kid who has ever been bullied can relate to. All he wanted was to be bully-free and popular. He felt the way of doing this was by taking part in the youth program with Supers. When his dreams were crushed, and his plans changed for the summer, Noah found a way to make the most of it. He decided to try to stand up and make a change by trying to rid the city of mutants by investigating who the mastermind was creating them. Noah was both smart and courageous which is admirable and inspiring. This book was full of action, suspense, drama, danger, adventure, bullies, mutants, and of course, super heroes. A twist on the classic tale of good versus evil, bullies versus the good guys.

“White Picket Fences” by Kyle Ann Robertson is a stunning masterpiece that I couldn’t put down. From the moment I picked up the book, I was transported into a world of complex characters, powerful emotions, and vivid settings that left me feeling deeply satisfied.
Robertson has an incredible ability to weave a complex narrative that effortlessly incorporates a range of themes, including love, family, friendship, and self-discovery. Each chapter was carefully crafted with precise language and a deep understanding of human psychology, which made it impossible to put the book down.
One of the things that stood out to me the most about “White Picket Fences” was the authentic voice that Robertson used throughout the book. The characters felt like real people with unique experiences, perspectives, and flaws. They were multidimensional and often surprised me with their actions, making the story all the more exciting and unpredictable.
Overall, I would highly recommend “White Picket Fences” to anyone who loves beautifully crafted stories that tackle important themes with nuance and depth. It is a truly five-star book that I know I will be recommending to all of my friends and family. Kyle Ann Robertson is a gifted author who I will be keeping my eye on in the future.

5 Stars Where Fire Meets Flame (Yours From The Ashes Book 1) by Elena Kincaid
Where Fire Meets Flame is the first book in Yours From The Ashes and is a Contemporary Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I’m a fan of this author and never hesitate picking up anything she writes. This maybe my favorite yet. I devoured this fast-paced short story in one sitting. I had to know what was going to happen next. This is Tristan and Riley’s story. He rescues her from a fire but will fate bring them together a second time? Can he keep this detective safe? There’s definitely some sizzling chemistry between these two. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.
