Small Fry by Stephenie Wilson Peterson is a charming and heart-felt children’s chapter book aimed towards middle-school-aged kids. It is a really well-woven story full of lots of heart and soul- with topics such as bullying, being different, wishing to be ‘normal’, wanting to fit in, and standing up for yourself and others makes the story both fun and a little emotional. Add in family dynamics, friendship, tension, lessons, corruption, a school election, a little drama, fraud, and cheating- and this story takes an intriguing turn.
A fun little adventure about embracing and accepting ourselves and our differences, standing up for what you believe in, facing challenges, and being brave.
