Planting Hope by Jennifer Raines – Review by Jennifer Crain

Planting HopePlanting Hope by Jennifer Raines
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When Holly’s life changes when she returns to her grandmother’s house to care for her, Holly dwells on a colleague’s murder and her upbringing. She is forced into helping with one of her grandma’s projects (gardening with at-risk kids) and gets more than she bargained for working alongside Kit, whom we find out later had an abusive upbringing, akin to the kids they are working with. You have to read to find out if their friendship blossoms like the garden they are creating, or does Holly storm off when Nana is better?

The interactions between Kit and Holly, Kit and the kids, and Holly and Nana are realistic and make this a worthwhile read.
