Caitlin has given her YA readers an interesting take on a collection of urban fantasy fairytales. But they are just any fairytales, they are a little twisted and a little deeper with a little darkness.
When Magic Calls is eleven unique short stories intertwined with magic and mythology with mystery, fates, curses, artifacts, selkies, wolves and more. Once upon a time is not the norm when it comes to this author. But when it comes to retellings there is no norm.
With lots of imagination and magic along with lyrical narrative at times keeps you guessing as to what retelling tale is coming next.
If you are a fan of retellings that are a little different and a fantasy lover, then you need to jump right in. And even if you aren’t you should take a look too.
